Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) causes havoc in relationships, and difficulties for the therapist. If you're caring for someone with BPD, whether you are a spouse, family member, friend, or therapist to BPD clients, this book is for you. Life Coach Nina Bingham helps you understand why someone you care for has out-of-control emotions, and how to approach it effectively. Learn a 3-step method (Challenges, Consequences & Commitments) that's user-friendly and teaches you how 1.) Identify the Challenges that have been impeding growth 2.) Communicate the impact that BPD has, and effect rapid behavioral change 3.) Create agreements that reduce conflict and foster growth. A new science-based, streamlined program for effective treatment of BPD. This is a manual for caregivers and therapists who are supporting clients with BPD. It is also written to help family members, partners, and the BPD clients themselves. This book introduces a completely new therapuetic approach to treatment of BPD. This revolutionary approach is called, "CCCT", which stands for, "Challenges, Consequences & Commitment Therapy." It is a 3-step process that includes isolating the challenges that the BPD individual faces, working collabratively with the BPD client to highlight the consequences of each choice, and finally, gaining a firm committment to the right choice and plan of action that the BPD client has decided upon. A simple, streamlined, yet suprisingly affective approach to treatment of BPD based on best-practice empirical research. I authored this book after exhaustive research into BPD, but more importantly, I was the caregiver to several BPD people for a number of years. Being the primary caregiver taught me that BPD is difficult to treat because the BPD suffers from "mind-blindness," what is a deficit in comprehending how their actions effect others.
