Since the beginning of time Dragons have existed and live in solitude among their own clans and traditions. Enya lives in the human world but is aware of the fact she's a Dragon. She never encountered any others of her kind and doesn't remember her past. She craves to find out more about herself until she's suddenly faced with a presumptuous, old-fashioned biker who'd rather demand information than willingly provide.
Vaughn, Dragon shifter and President of the Dragons Charter, has been the leader of his clan for decades. His clan has been facing problems due to ancient traditions which complicate their very existence. When Vaughn becomes aware of the horrific fact of the existence of a half-blood, he's dead set to handle this abomination accordingly; for a Dragon needs to be a pure blood.
A Dragon shifter is adamant, stubborn, and hot-tempered though evolution has a way to make you see reason within havoc. Can ancient traditions withstand modern times? Or will clan members refuse allegiance, leaving Vaughn and Enya no other option then to fight for the right of existence?
Each book in the Death by Reaper MC series can be read as a standalone story, featuring a new couple. For a greater reading experience and background storyline, recommended reading order: Hellhounds Death by Reaper MC #1 Vampires Death by Reaper MC #2 Demons Death by Reaper MC #3 Dragons Death by Reaper MC #4

These Dragons.... Honestly, you can't guess, how many times I roled my eyes because of them. I don't wanna to reveal too much, but think of ancient rules and ancient thinking. Like really? *Insert eye roll here.* See, another eye roll. Lol. But also, I fall in love with them. Especially at that moment close to the end. I was like *OMG I love you all!" I had huge smile and my heart was full of warmt. Sheesh, these dragons made me all mushy. Lol. I loved Vaughn, even though he was... A$$hole dragon. Lol. And I absolutely loved Enya. She was what these Dragons needed. What Vaughn needed.

Dragons have always been one of my favorite paranormal reads. This book by Esther E Schmidt is extraordinary , epic💚.! Without giving you any spoilers, I'm just going to say, it has everything and more. The one thing I have always loved about Esther's writing is her characters are strong both male and female. This story has both, I absolutely love Enya I think she's my favorite! There's lots of action, sexiness, funny and WTH moments. . The Death by Reapers MC is one of my top favorite!! I wish I could express how I loved this!!!! Just read it , I promise you'll love it!! Fantastic, fabulous, awesome, amazing!!!!!!
Wow! I couldn't put it down and read it in just a couple of hours, so good. Full of excitement and some fantastic action scenes, full of vivid descriptions so clear I could see them in my mind. The Dragons sound beautiful the colours varied. Intense but fascinating plot with magic and fantasy combing to enthral keeping the reader glued to the pages and spellbound throughout, getting the epilogue is a bonus because you just want to know what happens after the climax. As always the author gave me a fabulous ride that I could get lost in and forget all about real life for a few hours, if you like some paranormal and fantasy then this whole series is well worth getting, I do suggest you start at the beginning and work through you wont be disappointed. I hate that this was the last one, I could so read more.
My new favorite Esther book. Vaughan and Enya's story was outstanding. I had a hard time putting it down. Esther is really getting a hang of writing paranormal romance with her own little twist to it. So I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next in the Death by Reaper MC series.
He cane from an ancient race , it was dying out, he knew he must find a way to prevent that from happening. She was an unknown to his clan, but he had to find out what she was. When he found her he was struck with an instant need to possess her and protect her, but because she was a dragon shifter,he brought her back to the clan. They have a rocky start to their relationship, he is traditional to a point , and she is modern, but they finally find a middle ground and start to work together for the well being of the clan and its future. They fight their feelings for one another, and an evil so dark, and close to home, but they overcome that and that makes them and the clan stronger then ever. This breaks a curse over the women, so now they can repopulate the clan. An explosive read, highly entertaining, couldn’t put it down. Love it can’t wait for more.
Esther Schmidt is killing it with this paranormal series!! Each book has a different supernatural being as the main focus. Usually Vampires are my #1 but this one might be my favorite in the series. Dragons!! The imagery in this story was fantastic and the action especially the awesome battle near the end. And I can't forget about hot yet funny love story. This couple made me laugh! I loved Enya she iis my favorite kind of female lead. She was strong in the way she stood up to Vaughn, and the way she stood up FOR him But the way she changed the opinions and ancient ways of their entire clan was what I loved most. She forcibly dragged them kicking and screaming into the 21st century! Looks like the possibility of another book and I for one am sitting with my fingers ctossed.
I couldn't put this book down! I devoured it and went on to devour more books!! That to me is the true test to a good book, when it starts a reading binge! Enya and Vaughn are a great couple and Esther keeps you guessing as she has written an amazing storyline! Vaughn is definitely a member of the harem!
This is part of a series and should be read in order.
Safe, not sure if the H was a virgin but he did mention tradition of waiting for his mate. I have to admit I wasn't sure if I was going to like him. To alpha arsehole for me but she chilled him out and I ended up liking him. First read of the series, I'm going to go back and look at the others.
Please tell me this isn't the end ? I need more ! I feel like that kid in the orphanage begging for more food. Lol only I'm begging for more Reapers MC lol .
Knowing that this book is the last in this series ( but excepting it is another story. ) I took a bit longer to read it I wanted to savour it as long as I could. And like the other books in the series I found this one to be just as amazing as the one's before it. The way Esther brings a story together is truly a talent I hope to one day possess. Everyword every paragraph was consuming , You are able to Invision the scene as the words jump out at you and it makes you feel as if you are apart of the book. This story was about Vaughn and Enya when old ways of traditional thinking out dated views clash with a modern self aware power to unity and equal rights it's like a train crash you just can't look away from . Before Vaughn the Dragon president met Enya his clan and MC where staunch on their views that women should basically be seen and not heard having fatility problems amungst the Dragon Clan meant no knew Dragons had been born in decade's leaving the clan to become close to extinction. But all bets are off when Vaughn meets Enya a half human half Dragon fiesty takes no prisoners woman who also just happens to be his mate only she's thinks he's a egotistical fool with a 1940s mentality and seriously deranged. Sparks fly between them and bad dragons try to break them but together they are a power to be reckoned with and grow stronger everyday in everyway and bring change amungst the clan that in the ends sets a presidance for future Dragons to become alot more then obsolete . I loved this story , the characters and the way it all ended so nicely . I do hope there will be more books like this though . Five stars from me .
The 4th book in the Death by Reaper MC!! I love when I get my hands on a great book with a kicka$$ heroine and an alpha hero. You should expect nothing less than that with this book. We get to meet our 1/2 Dragon sister Enya and her fierce Dragon mate Vaughn. When Vaughn finds out there is a dragon shifter out there He knows he needs to find her. Imagine his surprise when it's not who he thinks it is. If you have read the other books in the series then you know how the dragons have kept the other chapters at arms length. With Enya's help Vaughn shows the clan just how beneficial it would be to be opened up to others.
Too bad the series is over. I loved it from start to finish. All of Esther's characters, both female and male, are strong, passionate and loyal, always on equal terms and that made me love the series more. I liked this book of dragons because it shows us a transition where the woman goes from being nothing to intervening in all the clan's decisions. I was very surprised that there was no more presence of the other MCs and the sisters. I felt that something was missing without them. Hopefully in the future the author will bring us a book where all MCs unite against a greater threat.
I love dragons! There are not enough truly wonderful dragon books in the world that have actual page time with the shifted dragons. LOVE IT!
Vaughn & Enya are a great couple, and I loved the way other dragon couples come into play in the story as well. There's suspense & heat (ha ha, dragons, heat) & a great HEA! Super fun read!! : )
Quick no spoiler review: The concept was interesting, but the main character was a Mary Sue and most of the other characters were incredibly 1 dimensional. It also wasn't written well, and the dialogue needs an insane amount of work. I found myself skimming over the main character just to get through her ramblings.
Really boring. Super predictable. No tension. Wouldn't recommend.
I absolutely loved Vaughn and Enya's. From the minute I picked this book up I couldn't put it down. This series is absolutely amazing and I can't wait to see what happens next!
I really liked this story. I like that old characters were in this story. I wish there were more interactions with all the sisters because their personalities are so fun. Enya and Vaughn had some really fun bantering scenes.
As I've said this author is new to me I've now read the four books in this series loved each story as each one had a different twist and hope that they is more to come I would highly recommend these books
Another brilliant book by ES. Please say there will be more of these. They are so well written and draw you in straight away. You almost forget you're reading paranormal/shifter material, they're just another coupke you want to get their HEA.
Wow Esther has out done herself with Dragons. I never thought I would connect with anyone in this series but Alistar, but I really enjoyed Vaughan. I am really hoping that there will be more of Death by Reapers in the future.
Another fun filled read, these mates have the love, loyalty, understanding down pat. They go hard for each other, no doubt in their love, don't know what else to say about it but to read it, you won't be disappointed.
I just devoured this series. And I have to admit the heroines are my favorates. Enya and Tria are badass and Jagger my Hero of this series. If you are a Paranormal lover read this series this you'll love it!
The dragons are here and the sister is found and the mate of the President. But lots are going on in the clan but the two together will renew the clans.
This book is probably my favorite one in this series. It grabbed my attention from the start and kept it thru the end. Lots of twists and turns plus action and romance.
I discovered this series after reading Esther's Steel Daggers MC series. They're a great mix of paranormal and MC action with super alpha males and their strong feisty women - what's not to love!!!
Loved this series and started on the next! The stories keep you addicted and has a fun side to. Definitely need to read this writer! She has a real way with words.
The book was a quick good read. The characters in the book are very likable and the connection is believable for being insta. Both leads are strong in their own way and it leads to a well written story.
With this being the last book in the series, I had no doubts that Esther would make it a good one. However, I didn't expect it to be so epic and awesome! Vaughn is the MC and leader of his clan of dragons. Having lived a very long life, he had settled into thoughts he would never find a true mate. With the decline in successful births within the clan, he was certain his focus was needed there. But just when he's in the middle of trying to bring the beliefs and rules into the newest century he gets the call that somewhere out there is a halfling.
Enya was brought up in the human world, not fully understanding what or who she was. Having been lost in the system she goes on what she's learned about herself, which is when her inner dragon wants out she has to remain in control. If not, her life is blown up to epic proportions. She's chosen the life of a rescuer and loves every moment of it. But then, she's face to face with a man whom she knows is just like her, but something is different and she's not ready for it.
Through their true mate status, they have to fight against evils lurking about the clan, learn more about just whom she comes from, what her true calling is, the powers that she truly holds comes to light and in the end the battle to end all battles. I was blown away by how these two not only came together but solidified such a huge change within their clan. It is not lost n me that there a few real-world issues mixed in with these fictional ones. As much as I hated to see the series end, I loved every moment of this book! It is so not what is expected, but that's the norm with this series. It is worthy of a few more read-throughs!
Outstanding book/series. Ms. Schmidt has such a wonderful way with words. Her storylines, while short, are all unique and filled with intrigue and romance. Her Death By Reapers series is exactly so and Dragons was a fabulous addition. It kept me enthralled from start to finish.
As we know from prior books the sisters have learned they have another half sister who is a Dragon shifter and have urged their hubby’s to find her. They turn to Vaughn, the Prez of the Dragons Charter of the Death Reapers MC and the clan leader. Vaughn is admit that a half breed Dragon is not possible and he has no time for their nonsense. But when he and his VP head out to locate a missing female dragon, they run head on to Enya, the missing “abomination” of a Dragon.
Enya is a lone dragon with no clue as to her origins or the first thing about being a Dragon, as she’s never seen another dragon in all her years. So when she runs head on into not only one but two at the same time, her life is thrown for a loop. In more ways than one. Especially when they carry her back to the Dragon’s clan/village. From here the story takes off and takes readers on a wild journey.
This a very well written thrilling storyline that kept me glued to the pages. It has moments of humor, aghast, suspense and sexy romance. While this can be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend reading the series in order, as the storylines do overlap. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars for this outstanding read.
This is the fourth book in this series and I think they should be read in order. I love this series so much. Dragons aren’t like other shifters. They live completely alone with their own kind. They are ancient rules they must follow. Vaughn knows that changes have to be made in order for their kind to survive but that doesn’t mean those changes are welcome by others of his kind. Now he has learned that out there somewhere is a half dragon half guardian. She can’t be allowed to exist. Enya knows she is a dragon but she has never meet anyone else who is a dragon. Then Vaughn and his VP show up and she is thrown into their world. She isn’t like any other dragon though. Plus, she hasn’t grown up with them and doesn’t understand they way they do things or why. Things are about to get really interesting. Especially when one elder is making it really clear that he doesn’t agree with the way Vaughn does things. Will they be able to find a way to make things work or will everyone be put in danger? I can’t say enough about this book or the series. I highly recommend it. Esther has done it again. She always writes a stories that pull me in and make me want more. I love how each group is slightly different. I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series. The sisters are coming together and bringing the different chapters together as well.
