Once, I was broken, battered, and bruised. Too weak to save myself, my summer Skye did what had to be done. My sister bears the guilt of taking a life to protect her little beanpole.

I should have saved her, but I was too weak, too small, too fragile to fight.

But, I’m not little anymore.

I’m not scared.

I’m no longer afraid.

Skye’s little beanpole grew into a giant of a man, and I’m on a mission to make those who hurt us pay for their crimes.

Every step of my life brings me to this moment.

I will bring down evil.

John Snowden doesn’t know the power of love. He has no idea what he created when he destroyed the fearful little boy I once was.

I’m coming, Snowden.

I’m coming for you.

Even if it means sacrificing myself for those I love.

Forest Fall!!

10 Freaking Stars!!!

This book is absolutely everything that I was hopping for and so much more. Forest has been a favorite of mine all though many of Ellie Masters books. It can be read as a stand alone but to get the full effect it’s even better if you’ve read the Captive Hearts series. Along with Changing Roles and Angel Fire series. These are cross over series with an epic conclusion of Forest story in Forest Fall!!
This book has everything you could ask for, it’s full of drama, angst, passion and of course love!! So if you’re looking for your next great read I can’t recommend this book highly enough. So go one click it right now, and as always happy reading!! 📖

OMG --- Ellie Masters -- you Genius!!!! Love Love Love this!!! The conclusion that took 11 books to get to --- there are very few words. EXCELLENT comes to mind. This not really a stand alone --- although there is some explanation to the back story (not enough --- gotta read at least the Rock Star Series, Hearts to New, She's Mine, Embracing Fate --- 7 books) to fully understand what is going on. It does finally answer some questions that came from the previous books --- continues the story and gives Forrest his HEA!!!! Super excited to read this. This about the wounded and the recovery for Forrest. Finally he can be well Forrest!! Forrest can be at peace. He deserves it!!! Grabs you at the first page and never lets go!! I Loved this book!!!!

The Light in the Darkness
I’ve been waiting for Forest’s story for so long. His character pulled at me from the first time he was mentioned in the Angel Fire Series, which I highly recommend reading before reading this book. Forest is finally able to face down his past, the mission is planned, executed and then gets completely FUBAR. Forest needs Sara to survive his nightmare, Sara trust and love for Forest is the only thing that keeps him going, but then there is Paul. Can he be trusted? Who’s side is he really on?
This book is devastating on so many levels, yet completely breathtaking.

This book was absolutely incredible! I’m truly at a loss for words, this is one of the best books I’ve ever read. It’s such an emotional story, that at times I didn’t think my heart could take it. This story is filled with drama, angst, turmoil, suspense, and love. An absolutely phenomenal read that I wish I could give more than 5 stars, it most certainly deserves it.

I'm usually very good with writing reviews but every once in awhile I read something that leaves me speechless. Do you remember as a child that larger than life sense of excitement for the coming of Christmas? You wait all year and then you run down on Christmas morning and find the perfect gift that you had begged for and wanted above all the other gifts on your list. You rip open the package and just start to cry. You cry from so much pent up emotion and relief. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED TO ME WHEN I READ THIS BOOK.

I started my Forest journey with Ashes to New and if evil had a name it would be John Snowden. Forest became a larger that life character and as we saw him grow and his determination to right the wrongs of evil grow with him, all you want is for him to succeed and finally heal from all the trauma. This journey was painful and at times I wasn't sure I would make it through to the end. The author, Ellie Masters has managed to weave a complicated tale with impeccable skill. She brings together worlds in 3 different series and culminates in an explosion called Forest's Fall. My head fell, my body fell, my tears fell and most of all my heart fell.

Was all the pain, sadness, anger and angst worth it? You FREAKIN BETTER BELIEVE IT WAS WORTH IT. I know I have missed some vital parts with my first reading of this story so once I calm down, I will do a reread when I'm less emotional.

In June 2018 I read a book by a new Author to me Ellie Masters, that book was Hearts Insanity ( A Rock Star Romance )
As I read and devoured that story one character stood out. He made such an impression on me that I've craved his story for 2 years....that character was Forest.

Forest Summers broke my heart into a million pieces with everything he endured as a young boy. As an adult he completely fascinated and consumed every part of me. I fell even harder for the complex Nordic giant with the soft heart in every book he featured in.
So much so that Forest went on to be one of my all time FAVOURITE characters in the book world. 🖤

If anyone deserved a HEA it's my Forest, I knew his story would never be an easy read or a typical sweet romance and I'm happy it wasn't. It wouldn't of worked if it was, Forest simply isn't wired that way.
His story was as intense and powerful as the man himself and every bit as dark and dangerous. It was emotionally raw and savagely brutal at times too.

Yet with all that it still managed to be a captivating, beautiful and passionate love story that completely overwhelmed my emotions.
The kind of story where you have to pause and take a moment to catch your breath just to absorb what you've read.

Forests Fall was an exhilarating page turner, I loved how everything came together and tied in nicely with the flow of the story.
It has a suspenseful and cleverly constructed plot that delves into a world of terrifying and unimaginable horrors.

It's about slaying the monsters that prey on the weak and vulnerable.
It's a story of survival of having the strength to fight your own demons.
It's a journey of finding love and acceptance in the most dire of circumstances.

I loved seeing some familiar characters make an appearance they put a huge smile on my face.
I adored Sara so much, she was amazingly strong and Paul definitely set my pulse racing.

To Ellie Masters, I didn't think it was possible to Fall any harder for Forest but I did, so thank you for that. xx

I'm very excited for what's instore next, it sounds AMAZING! 👏

In 12 days I read 7 of Ellie Master's books that lead up to Forest's Fall. I waited more 5 days until I could read the words and now it's the hardest review for me to write. It deserves 5 stars and more for the writing and creativity. For the story line, it makes me sick to think that situations as described are happening on the good planet Earth. It's an amazing story about love, acceptance, resilience and determination. But whenever human trafficking is involved, it can't be "good". There were wonderful characters, and also characters I hated and wanted the chance to destroy. With Forest's Fall, the puzzle is finally completed. The people, connections, and relationships throughout the two series have come together and make sense, people I find myself thinking back to, as I came to care about them. I'm glad Forest finally got his story. His calculations and plans were beyond anything I could ever wrap my mind around. WOW Ellie Masters! Just WOW!

Breathtaking Finale to Forest’s Story!!

Forest has starred in multiple series from this author. This is the culmination of all that brilliance. Forest still suffers from the impact of early abuse. He is now large and powerful, but cannot touch his chosen sister, or stay in a relationship.

When a mission is planned to take out the ultimate evil, events come full circle and the best and worst that can happen, does.

The most scintillating, emotional, and gritty read. Perhaps ever. There are not enough words or stars to do this justice. You must read this story and its associated series.

Forests fall

Just incredible! Angels fire was an incredible journey while not my regular reads I was addicted. I think the journey started there and b4 reading this series definitely read that (not necessary but strongly advised at the very least Ash and Skyes story). Emotional, S/M. M/M F/M just one of the best culminating stories I've read in a long time. You will hate to love it!

OMG!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fantastic!! It’s dark and intense. It kept me holding my breath and reading into the wee hours!

***May contain spoilers***

Forest has been a big, beautiful enigma throughout the Angel Fire and Captive Heart series and so much of him is finally bared in Forest’s Fall.

Despite his resources and connections, his superior intellect, massive physical strength and training, the unthinkable happens and Forest succumbs in order to protect those he loves. I despaired for him seeing the horrors from his past colliding with the ones in his present. I prayed for him to withstand them and fight for his future and finally find the love he so richly deserves.

His determination to resist Paul, his fierce need to hide his emotional scars and what he considers his sadistic and “beastly” sexual desires from Sara and even from himself, is heart-wrenching and soul-crushing.

Ellie Masters delivers a haunting tale of unimaginable and sadistic depravity and the fortitude of the human mind and its ability to withstand and survive the unthinkable to find redemption in one’s soul and solace in finding its match.

I am an avid reader and devour books of all genres but am currently on a dark romance and bully/enemies to lovers kick of which Ellie truly is a Master. Rare is the author who leaves me wanting more. Please say Forest’s Fall isn’t the last of the Captive Heart series, and that another Forest book is coming. I need more Forest, Sara and Paul!!

Sadly, I also do not often leave reviews. I feel I communicate inadequately the works authors have given so much of themselves to create. So, I enviously leave words to the authors and book reviews who magically weave them so much more eloquently than I.

Merci madame Masters.

Well gay sex between men is not really my thing. The author did include a warning at the beginning. Lots of pain, torture, suffering but eventually a HEA!

May contain spoilers .... But I'll try to be vague while still trying to unravel what I feel about this story ... Ive been waiting for Forrest to take down Snowden for so long and this book was both thrilling and disturbing at the same time. The excitement of the beginning - the planning and unfortunate failure of what seemed like an excellent plan to raid the compound ... At the First sense of uncertainty, they should have retreated yet then they would not have been able to infiltrate from the inside. He did so brilliantly from the First day ... But at what cost. The cost of daily torture and then explosive sexual outlet was confoundingly confusing. Who am I to judge what one might feel in that situation or how Forest could compartmentalize "it's just a body" without retreating within himself... Or Sara who had to observe and comfort... What a cluster fuck of a situation ... And Paul ... How can one both hate and adore a conspirator that participated yet provided that aggressive outlet to battle demons within. The hard of him and the soft of her... How they worked in tandem but hard to fathom how one deals with such horrors and yet needs that outlet to survive... Or how can I possibly understand how that dynamic worked...

Then, it all came to a head all too quickly and unravelled even more quickly to Snowden's ultimate take down. But I wanted more. *spoiler* I wanted that monster to suffer more... Longer ... More brutality than he dished out. I wanted him to suffer - his death was too quick. Too easy. Not enough to right any of his unimaginable wrongs. Not enough. He got off easy. Too easy ... Then all swooped to safety and everything works out fine. How does that work out fine? How does Forest just bounce back without repercussions of a lifetime of surviving the unimaginable. Ending was just too easy ... Again, I wanted Snowden to pay for what he had done... In life, not in death. I wanted him to pay.

HEA with a creative twist on a three way dynamic that only they could possibly understand. This book will stay with me as I try to sort through my own emotions on what transpired. I'm glad it's over. I'm glad Snowden is gone. I just wish he could have suffered more. (And I'm not the kind of person to wish ill on anyone, but pedophiles don't get my sympathies. Fictional or otherwise, I wanted him to pay. )

Forest's Fall Ellie Masters

"Save the children."

The mantra is on an endless loop in Forest Summer's head. He eats, breathes and sleeps saving children from the horrors of sex trafficking. Having survived with the help of his foster sister Skye, Forest had dedicated himself to finding and saving the children... To finding John Snowden, the evilest of evils, and to end him, even if it costs Forest everything...

An ancient evil as was ever known in this world doesn't give up easily. It will hide, slither away, fade into the background into near invisibility, but it doesn't give up... Ever. It will twist and turn, seeking a method of continued control... Of retribution.

When a giant of a man, still harboring internal doubts and intense self-hatred takes action, evil will do what it must to survive... And woe to any in its insidious path, or within its malevolent reach....

This book... Oh, this book! I wanted to savor each word, sip at each emotional scene, yet I also wanted to race to the end.... It's excruciating when you have this intense push/pull to finish... No, no.... to slow down and savor... It’s not just a dark romance novel; no, it is so, so much more! Erotic and sensuous, it wrings emotion from the reader, whether willing or not. A haunting, soul baring tale that delves deep into the darkening void, the bottomless abyss of self-hatred and the agony of never being enough, of failing those you hold dearest, of not being what you needed, no... what you HAD to be... And the discovery that none of that matters. What matters is you ARE good enough, You DO deserve to love and be loved, that you ARE the world to another, whose soul fills yours with light, banishing the darkness, eradicating the miasma of failure, self-doubt and loathing... Leaving only love... as Forest falls...

This was no easy read it was  extremely savage, gritty, raw, a fitting conclusion. It had to be this way it needed to be. Reading the conclusion to Forest understanding the conflict within him as he suffered the unimaginable was painful, horrific even.
A childhood of abuse that no child should ever suffer. An adulthood of avenging  and saving those from abuse. A giant Nordic demon slayer who had never truly slayed his demons now has the chance to finally slay his abuser an abhorrent excuse for a human. Things don't go as planned the abuser gets the upper hand or does he?

This is Forest's journey back to hell but this time it's different. He can suffer the unimaginable, the pain, the non consent because he will triumph.

This story is harsh but it is also cathartic. Understandably Forest is a complex character  because of what happened to him as a child.

How do you  write a review that will give this story justice? I'm still processing the emotions it tore from me.

Forest's Fall is the finale that pulls three series together Angels Fire, Changing Roles and Captive Hearts which have interwoven and linked characters the common theme of Forest always having some kind of presence in each you get the sense of him being the pivotal character even when it wasn't his story. This time it's different. Forest gets his HEA this is his, the story of his recovery, when he gets the peace he totally deserves.
Brilliantly written hard, edgy, read when love triumphs horror. A fitting 5 star conclusion.

Wow, totally blew my mind that I’m just about lost for words. Ellie has pulled out everything in Forests story its full of, love, hate, joy, disbelief, laughter and tears. One things for sure once you start you will be stuck reading right to the end. Just could not put this down. I even found my self re-reading pages just to make sure I didn’t miss one tiny little detail. This is undoubtedly not an easy read, with some horrific scenes in it, it is however a compelling one which will over take your life once you start reading it.

Forests story will tear you to pieces, lives of the few people he loves are very much at risk. Yet it is love which Forest needs to rely on to get him and Sara through. Trust is an emotive issue, Sara needs to trust Forest implicitly and without question yet she doesn’t see how he can do anything, whereas she might be able. They both need to trust a stranger Paul, but there are serious doubts as to where his loyalties really lie.

Forests story has been highly anticipated by those who have read The Angels series and Captivated series’s and we were not disappointed. He was that guy, who we knew so little of at the start yet became the one we needed. He was that guy who became the lynch pin. Yes at a push you could read as stand alone but I highly recommend reading all the series first.

As for the teaser at the end on the new spin off series ? I read 2 pages of that and stopped 6 months is way way to long to wait 🤣🤣

I REALLY wanted to give this 5 stars. For the story of Forest, Sara and Paul it is without a doubt a 5* read. It's one full of emotions, suspense, devastation and darkness....but there is light at the end of this, and I simply LOVE how it all played out. For me, the issue is more in the continuity of the book. It is no6 in the Angel Fire series and yet we have only just met Sara who is described as almost like Forest's shadow as his PA and she has never met anyone from Angel Fire??? There is also a point where Noodles is described as a bachelor and yet in book 5, he found his one in Mitzy...which we know as Mitzy is also described as happy with Noodle early in the book. I'm also sad we didn't get more from Forest, Sara and Paul after. This may come but feel this could be a book in itself and maybe one that Elle Masters visits in the near future, but I wanted to see how they develop. The ending was intense emotionally and I loved the symbolism of it but felt we were teased of what was to come then left with it simply ending. I want to see how Paul and Sara develop. I want to see more of the D/s relationship and how it will evolve with Forest as the switch between his lovers. I want to see how Forest escapes all that Snowden did to him.....and I want to see Skye and Beanpole develop their sibling relationship. I know we will see them in the Guardian Hostage series but somehow, I don't think any of this will be cleared up in these books.

Not my idea of romance.

I have read the rest of the books in the series now and this one just doesn't fit.
An entire book of rape and depravity just aren't my idea of entertainment. I see what the message is meant to be in this book but for me, there was no entertainment in reading this and the only reason I was able to finish it was because I loved Forest in previous books and wanted him to get his happy ending.
And I still can't decide if he actually did.

I will not be recommending this book.

Ellie Masters has finished her series with a huge bang! Shocking details are revealed, shocking revelations are made, and shocking events occur. The story is an emotional roller coaster that will grip you and keep you hostage for every last page. She certainly captured me and this book earns all the stars!

Forest's Fall! This title holds many meanings. Through many books by Ellie Masters, we have waited for Forest to find justice, waited for Forest to finally have the closure he deserves and his enemies to get their due. And now we have it! This book took me on a journey of pain, love, and restitution. My emotions were drained and my beating heart got a workout.

Forest is a character who has played minor parts and pivotal parts throughout the books of Ellie Masters. He has drifted from one series to another. He has lived through absolute tragedy and suffered immensely for it. He is strong, he is loyal, he is amazing. Finally having a book featuring him and living through his nightmare was beyond perfect.

This story is so much better if you've taken the time to get to know Forest and what he stands for. The trials he has endured, the success he has earned, the love in his heart. What drives him to live another day? What is his endgame? You can read all about Forest in Ellie's previous books and it will bring to light all of those things. It will help you feel everything while you read Forest's Fall. It will help you feel satisfied with his journey.

Ellie Masters has been weaving interconnected stories through several series' and many books. They are best enjoyed in order but you can always read Forest's Fall as a standalone.

Forest's Fall book 3 of the Captive Hearts Series will pull you in from the first page. This story was heartbreaking and full of emotion and suspense. Forest's journey was well worth the wait as you follow this larger than life man trying to get to the one man that left him broken. The banter between Forest and Sara at times will make you laugh as Sara is this feisty non nonsense sexy assistant. Sara pushes him around and helps center him, but unknown to Forest who only has affairs with men Sara has loved him ever since he saved her. Now Forest and his team have an opportunity to get to Snowden, the man that used him and Skye as children. You will be on edge with all of the twists and turns that takes place when they think they are going to shut down this evil man's sex operation and capture him. But Snowden has other plans, Sara has been take along with Skye's son. Forest has a decision to make he has to save his nephew and come back to be Snowden's pet again in order to keep Sara safe. Now Forest is once again used sexually and beaten by Snowden and his men. But when Paul who is ordered to guard them both has his own plans to have Forest . Things will take a turn between these two men as they are both attracted to each other . While Sara confesses her feelings for Forest , this complex dark story will develop a relationship between all three. In order for Forest to play along with Snowden, he has set things into motion destroying Snowden's empire from within. Can Forest and Sara survive what is coming next for them as they wait for help to arrive? Will Paul after he learns the truth from Forest help them and what will this mean for the three of them. I don't know how Ellie Master's has done it, but this dark romance story is full of angst, danger and heart stopping passion, this is a must read. I highly suggest you read books 1-2 to fully understand the horror Forest had to live through and made him the man he is today. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

I Love Forest

I've loved Forest from the beginning of this series. As much as I love him, I almost didn't read this book. It is quite dark and a sort of heavy read.

We hear from the very beginning about Forest's and Skye's childhood years with their foster father Clark Preston--years of physical, emotional and sexual abuse. One of the men who participated in their abuse, John Snowden (the words "sick, depraved, and evil" aren't strong enough go describe Snowden!) has been on Forest's radar for... ever. Forest vowed to dismantle Snowden's sick empire and to put an end to the man himself.

The opportunity comes for Forest to move against Snowden...and things get twisty, topsy-turvy, and downright crazy!

I believe the author mentions triggers in the blurb I read online (Amazon.com? Goodreads.com? Can't remember where I read it...) and that warning is well-deserved. To say "there are scenes of physical and sexual abuse in this book" would be an understatement. The majority if this book is full of violence and abuse. I didn't think I'd want--or be able--to finish it. But, I do love Forest, so I had to stick it out. It helped that, in the midst of all of this... evil, love was able to blossom in the most unexpected ways.

The book gets 4 stars instead of 5 because I didn't really like Sara...and because of typos.

Spike is the last of the Angel Fire family and I can't wait to read his book... especially if his "love interest" is who I think it is...

I have been looking forward to getting to Forest's book for quite a while, now. I have made myself get through the previous Angel Fire books in order to get here. This book definitely has a much darker feel to it, and doesn't really match any of the previous books in that regard.

First off, the Angel Fire books are the only ones I have read by this author (except for the last one). Having said that, throughout these books, there is definitely a feeling that there is so much more going on that I am missing (probably from the other book series). It was referred to in other books, but it was very much front and present here.

Second, this books didn't really feel like it should go with the Angel Fire books. Forest, whilst he is their manager, isn't part of Angel Fire, and this book had a totally different feel to it, too. It had nothing to do with Angel Fire. I keep thinking that maybe it would fit better in the other series about the rescue service?

Third, this book is after Noodles' book, but in the Epilogue it mentions Spike and Noodles are unattached bachelors? Since Paul and Sara are never mentioned in Noodles' book, I think this is just a detail that majorly slipped past editing for continuity.

I am going to finish up this series with the last book. I am definitely looking forward to Spike!

Book 3 of this series was over-the-top, home-run, touch-down, and a slam-dunk, or in Forest's terms, the best computer program EVER! Forest has been through so much and this book brings his story to a whole new level. Ellie Masters brought life to these characters in a whole new way. The emotions experienced while reading this book: shock, laughter, edge-of-seat, love, and a sense of hope. The family camaraderie between Forest, Skye, Sara, Xavier, Ben, Mitzy, to name a few characters is astounding. How all of these characters come together for one MAJOR cause and bringing hope to those who know no other way, amazing, amazing story.

If you have not read his story from the beginning, Angel Fire series book 1 or Ashes to New, then I suggest you grab Heart's Insanity (book 1) and Ashes to New and get acquainted with Forest and Skye (Elsbeth). His story is intense and not all love and roses but so worth the time to read.

OMG, I feel like I've waited forever to read Forest's story and what a powerful, gripping story Ellie Masters has given us in "Forest's Fall". From the time he was introduced, Forest has melted my heart and as I got to know him better through all his trials and achievements, he came to life so beautifully I couldn't help but fall in love with all his quirky personality traits and his big heart. But this storyline? This one had me smiling and laughing in places and then quite literally brought me to my knees and I had tears streaming down my face while the rest of me sat shivering while I read every single word. If anyone deserves to have their happy every after, it's Forest. I know you want to know if he gets it or not, but I REALLY won't do that to you or Ms. Masters. You need to read every word for yourself and let him show you what happens. Congratulations Ellie on, in my opinion, is the best book you've ever written. It deserves so much more than the five stars I'm limited to.

Absolutely Stunning! Gut-wrenching, tears, smiles, family, strength, courage, trust, faith, complex, genius. All these words can be used in describing this book. Each chapter brings a whole different view or path to what has been written so far and you just can't put the book down. Leading up to Chapter 15, your heart is pounding, at 15, my heart stopped! Every time I finished a chapter, I would go back a couple of pages to make sure I read all the words right. There's so much more to explore, even after reading the last line. I absolutely loved it. It is a stand alone, but there is so much background in the Hearts: A Sizzling Hot Rock Star series as well as the Captive Hearts Romance series one and two. I'd recommend reading those books as well as Ashes to New (a prequel novella). I can't get enough!

I received this advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review.

Sometimes books come along that stay with you, long after the last page is read. Forest’s Fall is one of those books. I realised while reading it that Ellie Masters’s strength, particularly in this book, is that she makes you imagine what Forest is going through – and your imagination is so much more powerful and impossible to ignore than words on a page will ever be. There are moments in this book of sheer terror, of devastation, of gut-wrenching agony – and these are the reader’s experiences. From the moment we met Forest in Hearts Insanity, through each of his iterations in the Captive Hearts and the Angel Fire books, he has been the literal tower of strength, the damaged beautiful protector, haunted by Snowden. And, in Forest’s Fall, he gets the monster’s location – and things fall apart. Prepare to be ripped apart by this book, up to and including the end.

I have to say that this book was absolute perfection. Forest's story is one that we have been waiting for and Ellie Masters did not disappoint with this complex man and his complex soul and force of nature. Forest is a character that we have seen across several of Ms. Masters books but has yet to be the main story until now. This was most definitely a read that was intense and had my heart stopping several times. I wasn't sure how I would make it through to the end with Forest and all of the hurt and turmoil and very hard times it took to get there. But every single moment of this story was well worth the read and I have to applaud the author for not taking any easy road to tell his story.

BRUTAL BUT BEAUTIFUL

Although it is hard to imagine such brutality exists anywhere in the world sadly it’s very real. Although this is fiction I feel the author must have researched at least some of the situations before writing this book. Anyway it really answers a LOT of questions about Forest and how his thruple manifested in his life with Sara and Paul. Also what Paul said in a previous book “he had killed for him” (Forest) meaning Forest’s lifelong tormentor. I love how Paul may be interested in more with Sara after saving her life with mouth to mouth resuscitation.

Regardless, this was an interesting book and I loved it. After all, who couldn’t love Forest, Sara and Paul?

Disappointed

Ellie Masters is one of my favorite authors, but this book falls short of entertaining for me. There is way too much BDSM with unnecessary violence and pain. As an abused child I lived some of this, I don't care to relive it. To me this was not a romance book but more a horror novel. Not only that there were plot holes, incorrect references to other stories in the series.I felt that Forest's character was inconsistent and did not really line up with his he is portrayed in the rest of the series. In the past he has always been aware of even the tiniest details to a situation. In the book he is really unaware of details. He's not the same guy. I hope the last book is better.

This is a truly amazing book that will fill you with emotion and leave you feeling wrung out. Once you start reading it is hard to put down, I had to stop reading twice because I couldn’t see through the tears. It is hard to comprehend man’s inhumanity to man and Ellie Masters brings it to life with a scary authenticity. She also demonstrates the depth of passion and love that is not always shown the same way but is nonetheless as powerful as the more traditional expression and just as beautiful. The ending is amazing and everything you could ask for, a wonderful story and I can’t recommend it enough.
