Wildlife conservationist Jade Sinclair isn't used to having money. But when she and her siblings learned they were part of the mega-rich Sinclair dynasty, they became billionaires overnight. Jade doesn't even know how to act rich, especially when she's dealing with an arrogant, privileged, unreasonably sexy snob like Eli Stone.
J.S. Scott is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of contemporary and paranormal romance. She's an avid reader of all types of books and literature. Writing what she loves to read, J.S. Scott writes both contemporary erotic romance stories and paranormal romance erotics. They almost always feature an Alpha Male and have a happily ever after because she just can't seem to write them any other way! She lives in the beautiful Rocky Mountains with her husband and two very spoiled German Shepherds.
Awesome erotic romance! J.S. Scott's writing is flawless and enjoyable. I loved both eli and jade,two very different people and with different back grounds who together had great chemistry. Eli is all about being in control,but jade has a way of getting under his skin with her strong and sexy independent nature. What starts out as eli just wanting to have sex with her turns into love and for him letting go of the ghost's from his past. Great build up and steamy sex !! This has adult content and language. It's writers like this that make erotica so good!!💖💋
I really enjoyed this book! J.S. Scott has this incredible ability to just draw me into her stories from the very first word and make me never want to leave. Her writing is effortless and flows so beautifully that it’s an absolute pleasure to read her books. I absolutely adored Jade and Eli together. Between these two, it was fireworks and outta this world chemistry! Overall rating : 4.5 stars!
This is the first book by this author I have read and I liked that it's pretty straight forward. The story is a friends to lovers, slow burn romance. There is no drama for the sake of drama, the H and h are both likable and the pacing wasn't too fast.
Jade and her family have recently come into money. A lot of money and the sudden change is still taking them a bit to get used too. When she decides to use her money for a good cause, she sets her eyes on a promising piece of land she hopes to purchase and protect as a natural habitat.
Eli Stone isn't interested in selling that particular piece of land for his own reasons, but he is interested in Jade. She makes an instant impression on the billionaire and he sets out to win her over. When it becomes clear that Jade could care less about his money, connections or daredevil lifestyle, Eli founds him self more determined than ever to prove to her, he'd be worth a chance.
Memorable Moments: The turning point for Eli, when he takes Jade Glamping and realizes that he doesn't want to rush things between them. He finally admits that he really cares about her and is willing to prove to her that she's special to him.
Would I recommend? If your looking for a safe, no muss no fuss read, this is it.

Honestly, it started off kind of slow for me.. but I totally blame the two bummer audios that got me into this funk.
Ensnared was pretty interesting and made me think of things. Like, for example: What the hell would you do if you found out that you were a millionaire/billionaire one random ass day? Freak out like Jade? Probably. Or you might buy some random ass shit and then become poor pretty quickly.
Well, Jade freaked out because she just can't seem to understand how she has this money now. She grew up poor - so I totally get the way that she is feeling and I found it adorable. However, I just wasn't fully on bored with her and Eli's relationship in the beginning. Yeah, I saw the chemistry and the sparks.. but yeah, idk. Maybe I'm anti-love right now. Or maybe I just need more smut.
Overall, I liked these two a lot more towards the end. I also really liked getting to know more about Jade and her entire family. Her brothers are protective but loving. I also feel like the next book in this series will bring out some secrets into the light. Especially since I think/hope the next one will be about Skye and Aiden. I need to know if my thoughts are correct or not.
I read this a few days ago and still can't formulate a decent critic about it. it's not that it wasn't good. No, it was a decent read, with an original premise. it's not that the MC's were dislikeable. On the contrary. Both characters were well fleshed out and their goals and intentions are made clear to readers from the get go. No, it's not that.
Why is this not a 4 or 5 star read for me, like most people who have read this book? I think it's the entire beginning. The long-winded whining about becoming a billionaire heiress. There was something utterly repetitive about her-self induced mind numbing inner dialogue complaining about her new circumstance. Her quandaries about her newfound wealth did not induce me to like her more. I found it annoying and difficult to reconcile her attitude because she wasn't grateful enough in my opinion. And this self imposed "problem" was flogued to the max. It was the subject of too many long dialogues with all of the characters in the story. I found it exceedingly tedious to read.
I mean, seriously? You're a damn billionaire overnight?? WOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! not BOOOOOHOOOOOO!
The other problem was the ending twist... the "thing" that divided these characters from each other. The misunderstanding, so to speak? Ya, if you read this you know what I mean. That whole text debacle with him getting sick? That just seemed uber weak as a story turning point.
Aside from that, it was a decent read. With an interesting set up for book two.
This was an okay story to listen to and I did enjoy getting to see Jade and Eli together. But the first half of this story felt a little too slow for me and I became annoyed with just how much inner dialogue there was. Especially from Jade where all she did was say how weird it was to now be a billionaire, that she grew up with nothing and now she has too much. It just became repetitive and made me not like her character all that much.
Maybe if I had read the story instead of listening to it throughout a few days I wouldn't have been so annoyed with the constant whiny thoughts so I may read the book one day to see if I feel differently. I am looking forward to more from this family though so I'm excited to see what happens in the series.
I truly love J.S.Scotts writing. She pulls you into the book and makes you feel everything the characters do. I have found all of her books enjoyable and this was no exception. Ensnared was impossible to put down, I found myself holding my breath in parts and my heart racing in others. This Is not a book but an emotional rollercoaster that I didn't want to got off of. I can't wait for the next one! voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
If I FINISH a book, it gets two stars. Any stars awarded after that indicate my level of enjoyment. Below are my notes that started at the 30% mark on my Kindle. Draw your own conclusions. MINOR SPOILERS.
- [ ] Jade’s initial dislike of Eli is understandable - [ ] Eli is straightforward about what he wants—sex; no dallying, no innuendos - [ ] Jade is attracted to Eli but whines entirely too much about EVERYTHING: -her tomboyishness and looks not being up to par with what Eli is used too -being overwhelmed by her inheritance -feel guilty about not doing more to manage her billions -she can’t get the job she wants -she wants to have sex/a relationship with Eli but he’s commitment-phobic and she’s all about commitment. -EVERYTHING seems to overwhelm her: his looks, her money, his attention, his helicopter, yacht, and self-assurance - [ ] Eli’s displays of wealth to teach Jade how to “get comfortable “ being rich are often too over-the-top (e.g. buying out Disneyland for the entire day) - [ ] Jade complains about not having friends but won’t respond to her best friend’s call - [ ] Eli hosts a fundraiser for Jade’s favorite conservation charity. Her: “What do rich people talk about?” Her shrinking violet naïveté is seriously annoying. Ensnared was the first book in the Accidental Billionaires series by JS Scott. The series was a spinoff from the Sinclair series.
We met Jade Sinclair previously as Brooke’s twin sister (Only A Millionaire, a Sinclair series novella). As one of the six west coast Sinclair siblings, she just learned of her deceased father’s wealth and second family. She went from poor to a billionaire over night - literally. She’s always worked hard for everything and she wasn’t about to stop now.
Eli Stone was a billionaire by birth. He always had more money than most knew what to do with - but he knew exactly what to do. He was gorgeous, single, arrogant, confident, a successful business owner, an extreme adventurist, a philanthropist and a very high profile public figure. He met Jade once and pursued her doggedly. She resisted and refused to answer his calls. Used to getting what he wanted, he found a way for their paths to cross.
I enjoyed both characters as well as the storyline. It was a different perspective. Jade was learning how to live with money. She had only known poor, so this was a new landscape for her. Who knew Sudden Wealth Syndrome was actually legit. And yea I googled it.
Scott took us through Eli’s persistent chase as well as Jade’s new found challenges. It was a fun and enjoyable ride with a few unexpected turns. Scott also prepped us for the next book in the series, Entangled. I love second chances and it has promise to be intriguing.
Jade Sinclair became a billionaire overnight when she found out she and her brother's are the bastard children of a now dead rich man. Going from a poor recently graduated PhD student to billionaire is pretty mind boggling, and Jade spends a lot of time whining about how hard it is...what? Girl, go study your damn animals wherever you want!
When Jade finally decides to spend some money, she's set on buying a plot of land that will help ensure biodiversity, but she has to convince fellow billionaire Eli Stone to sell it to her. Well, Eli Stone is not interested in selling the land to Jade, but he is interested in fucking her.
What follows is an actually pretty tame romance between two billionaires. I was at first happy to hear the dirty talk in the beginning, but then everything just stretched on and on. Jade has so many conversations with her siblings and other characters about her doubts about why Eli is attracted to her, can't fathom that she is actually pretty, and how hard it is to have money. She's also insistent on not paying for her own way into a research job and finds it hard to figure out what to do with her money. Um, if you were a real PhD student, I can't fathom you wouldn't know about a hundred people with projects desperate for funding. Maybe start there?
So, after Jade accepts Eli's proposal of spending 10 days with him but insisting she will never sleep with him (ha, yeah right), she soon gives in. Then a terrible accident happens, spinning into a ridiculous ending and a fairly lame misunderstanding keeping the two apart.
I did read the whole thing, but the story was so uneven. I'm hoping this author will work on some of these inconsistencies because the premise is good.
Ensnared is the highly anticipated first installment in The Accidental Billionaires series by J. S. Scott. It's a spin off of the the very popular and successful The Sinclairs series. These books are among my top favorite reads. Jan is my ultimate queen of Billionaire books - nobody writes better stories in this genre than her. I bow to her incredible talent to deliver such touching and captivating stories in the world of the super rich, beautiful and privileged. What I love most about Jan's characters is that they are multi-faceted and complex. She shows us that those people despite their vast fortune can have insecurities and doubts like everybody else. It makes them feel real and human. And that's what I cherish so much about her heroes and heroines.
When Wildlife conservationist Jade Sinclair learned that she and her four siblings were part of the mega-rich Sinclair dynasty, they became billionaires overnight. But Jade isn't used to having so much money and doesn't know how to act rich, especially when she’s dealing with an arrogant, frustrating and sexy snob like Eli Stone.
Unlike Jade, Eli grew up privileged and keeps getting richer by expanding his businesses. He is an adventure seeker who is always looking for his next challenge. When Eli meets Jade he is intrigued by her intelligence and her ability to care for herself. He forms a plan with the hidden agenda to get her alone in the wilderness by buying out all the spots in her survival class.
They strike a bargain: Jade will teach Eli basic survival skills, and he’ll teach her how to navigate the world of the wealthy elite. Jade has only one condition—she will not let herself be seduced by him. But some things are easier said than done...
Jade and Eli were two intriguing and very likable characters and I loved the sizzling chemistry between them. I was so happy to see that Eli wasn't intimidated by Jade's independence and her smarts - on the contrary. They turned him on. The strong and affectionate bond between the Sinclair siblings made my heart melt. They all supported and took care of each other since they were young. Family always came first to them.
J. S. Scott did a very good job with this story. I highly recommend it to all her loyal fans and new readers who didn't have the chance to pick up a story written by this incredibly talented author. I can't wait to see what Jan has in tow for the rest of the Sinclair clan. I'm giving Ensnared 4 stars.
“Wildlife conservationist Jade Sinclair isn’t used to having money. But when she and her siblings learned they were part of the mega-rich Sinclair dynasty, they became billionaires overnight. Jade doesn’t even know how to act rich, especially when she’s dealing with an arrogant, privileged, unreasonably sexy snob like Eli Stone.
Unlike Jade, Eli grew up rich, and he just keeps getting richer. Eli is always looking for an adventure, and he’s found an inviting one in Jade—as resistant as she is irresistible. His less-than-honorable plan? Get her alone in the wilderness by buying out all the spots in her survival class.
Calling a truce, they strike a bargain: Jade will teach Eli basic survival skills, and he’ll teach her how to navigate the world of the wealthy elite. Jade has only one condition—she will not let herself be seduced by him. But some things are easier said than done…”
Here are my thoughts about this novel. I loved the charaters and how knowledgeable the heroine was regarding the wildlife and surviving skills. Something totally new for a heroine to be such a “tomboy”. Eli is described to be an “arrogant snob”, but i don’t see him like that. His patience while courting Jade, his dedicatication to make her happy, his dirty mind and his blunt way of speaking his mind, made me love him. Plus, i was really impressed by the butterfly analogy. It was “the most perfect” way to describe the heroine.
I gave it a 4⭐️ just because i got really tired of the “accidental billionaire” thing. So Jade grew up really poor and now she has this ton of money. She mentions this and how uncomfortable she is being a billionaire and how she doesn’t know how to have money and what to do with them so many freaking times, , that made me wanna bitch slap her, yell at her and pulling my hair off alltogether.
In the end, if you think you can manage hearing about being a sudden billionaire 13564848464 times, i really think you’ll enjoy the romance part, the characters and how their relationship progresses. If you’re familiar with this author’s work and liked her previous series, then you’ll definitely love this one as well.

Love it Rated 4.5 stars I really enjoyed the spin off of the Sinclair Family. Jade is the sweet twin, nerdy twin that is all about saving the planet so when her family find out that they were rich, it still made her feel ask but she thought that she would try a do something good with the money only to come across the person that will come between her and the piece of land that she wants. Eli is a good barrier between what she wants or maybe not. These two are fun together and they have more of a connection than they know. This was another hit for me.
Jade is still adjusting to being a billionaire. She doesn't know what to do with all that money and it makes her uncomfortable. She meets Eli Stone when she proposes to buy some property from him as a wildlife preserve. Of course, she intrigues him and he eventually coerces her to spend more time with him as he teaches her how the 1% live. He is pretty clear that he wants her in his bed with no commitments. She is pretty clear that she can't have a casual relationship even if she needs one. Yeah, they get together despite what they said.
I liked both Jade and Eli, but I must admit that I was expecting a different plot based on the teaser from Brooke's story, Only a Millionaire. Regardless of what I was expecting, this was an entertaining read with some unexpected twists (). I enjoyed it and will likely continue the series eventually. I do have to wonder though, just how it is possible for all these siblings to be billionaires - that's a crap-ton of $$! At least these Sinclairs (Jade and Brooke) so far seem to be pretty down to earth.
Ensnared by J. S. Scott is Book One in The Accidental Billionaires series. This is the story of Jade Sinclair and Eli Stone. Jade and her siblings find out they are now very rich but Jade a Wildlife conservationist doesn't really change. Eli has always been rich so nothing new for him but when he meets Jade she is something different than he is used to. Eli and Jade come to an agreement that each will help the other deal with their different worlds. But along the way the feelings that sparked between the two turn into more than either thought. Really enjoyed this book and can't wait for more books in this series.
I thought the premise of this book was really good, I fully expected to enjoy the book based on this.
The problem?
I couldn't get past all the whining! I've never heard someone complain as much as Jade did about coming into money. She became a billionaire overnight and all she can do is complain about it?! Who does that? I get that it would take some getting used to, but seriously the whining was just annoying.
really enjoyed this book. The story was interesting and I fell in love with all the characters. I am yet to read the other stories in the series, I will let you know how I go when i read them.
Being a huge JS Scott fan I was over the moon happy that she is going to write another series for Montlake: The Accidental Billionaires series. What made me even more excited was the fact that the major characters are related to the Sinclair Billionaires from her previous books. I loved them all so much and consider them one of my most favorite reads ever!
Ensnared is the story about Wildlife conservationist Jade Sinclair. Being poor all of her life, her and and her siblings had to stick together and work hard in order to survive. But their all lives suddenly change the moment they learn that they are a part of the mega-rich Sinclair dynasty, making them billionaires overnight.
Jade is out of her element the moment she meets the arrogant and super sexy billionaire Eli Stone. Unlike her, he grew up rich and is a very successful businessman. Eli is not the relationship kind of guy. But somehow Jade's natural beauty and intelligence are making him crave her like no other woman before. But the shy and cautious beauty is avoiding him at all cost.
In order to get some alone time with her, Eli buys out all the spots in her survival class. While spending time together in the wildness they strike a bargain: Jade will teach Eli basic survival skills while he will teach her how to navigate the world of the social elite. Jade agrees on only one condition—she will not let herself be seduced by him. But what starts out as a friendship soon turns into so much more...
Nobody writes Billionaires better than JS Scott. Eli Stone was a prime example of that. He was sexy, cocky and a little arrogant, but that was all a facade. Deep down he was a good guy who fiercely protected the ones he cared about. Like Jade he was a geek who preferred to have his privacy more than being in the spotlight. He was crazy about Jade and I admire how hard he fought to get her attention.
Jade was equally beautiful and smart. Coming from a poor family, she was a little lost in the world of the rich and privileged. But she was eager to learn and did that fast. She tried to resist Eli's charm, but was unable to. Their deep emotional connection and sizzling chemistry was too strong to be denied.
All in all I very much enjoyed reading their story. JS Scott delivered an intriguing start to The Accidental Billionaires series and I can't wait to read the books about Jade's brothers. 4 stars
4 Star Review Ensnared (The Accidental Billionaire’s #1) by J.S.Scott J.S. Scott is a new author to me and I have absolutely no idea why that is. I was intrigued by this story line and jumped at the opportunity to read and review. When Jade Sinclair becomes a billionaire overnight she has no clue how to act, or how to deal with the people she now comes into contact with, which includes Eli Stone, a man who annoys her on numerous levels.. Jade is a wildlife conservationist and despite her misgivings she agrees to an unlikely truce with Eli. Jade is going to teach Eli basic survival skills and in exchange Eli will help her learn how to move in the rich and elite circles she and her siblings now find themselves in. However Eli is determined to that Jade will fall for his charms even as Jade is determined not too. I actually really liked Eli, I know reading the blurb he came off as an arrogant and snobby jerk but there was more to him then meets the eye. I found myself charmed by this story and did not want to put this book down, it was one of those, just one more chapter reads, if you know what I mean. I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher through Netgalley and look forward to reading more in the series.
Book one of The Accidental Billionaires series Jade is one of the younger Sinclair billionaire siblings and also struggling with this massive change. Evan Sinclair from The Sinclair series is the oldest and when he finds out his father is a bigamist who has fathered many other children with a woman in San Diego he makes it his mission to provide them part of the Sinclair fortune. Jade has just completed her fellowship and is struggling to find her way with her vocation and money, so Eli offers to show her the ropes. Eli Stone comes across as know it all rich guy that is only thinking of himself and the fame he’s generated from his extreme sports but when jade gets close to him and quickly realised he’s lonely and holding onto some deep sadness thing quickly change into something more passionate. I love that both characters are really smart and jade wants to use her degree and try and save animals that are going extinct. I especially love that Eli also has a big heart and animal lover so contributes and supports her wholeheartedly. Absolutely loving this new series by J. S. Scott. Can’t wait for more.
I saw this on Netgally and started reading it on a whim, and I’m glad I did. The author is completely new to me, so I really had no idea if I was going to like the story, or the writing.
In the beginning I was a little confused because how on earth do you become an accidental billionaire? As I got to know Jade a little bit more, the accidental billionaire was still in the back of my mind, but her character was pushed to the front. Eli I liked right away, even though he did act like your standard billionaire bad boy that are a dime a dozen in books like these. I was very pleasantly surprised when he took on more character development and took a few steps away from that typical persona.
My favorite part of this book though was the duel point of views. I tend to shy away from first person stories because they are generally told from that one view point, usually the female, and I love being in the male characters head.
Overall I really enjoyed Ensnared, and it left me wanting a next book in the series. I’m definitely looking forward to checking out this authors back list.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ahhh I couldn't wait to read the story of Jade and the mysterious but very rich Eli Stone and I was not disappointed !! I loved their first meeting and how Jade stands up to him =D (well I must admit I would have preferred a slow burn for them but they were so cute <3)
I found this book to be ridiculously simplistic, to the point of being juvenile. I just couldn’t get past the use of laughable euphemisms for vagina, and the tired phrasing (why do writers in this genre insist on using the word “growled” ad nauseum when trying to convey that someone is speaking in a sexy manner?). But, by far, the worst part was the protagonist’s constant “woe is me, I’m suddenly rich” complaints. All in all, I would not recommend this book.
When u think it cant get any better, u start reading the next and omg so wrong. Jade and Eli's story is one that will pull u in right away. It will have u laughing and crying. It is a amazing story and a must read. I read in one setting because I couldn't put it down once I started. Thank u Js Scott for another great story. U have true talent and always have me biting my nail with waiting to see what's next. Truely amazing..
Awesome! Jade and Eli's book is awesome. I love the fact that the heroine is a survival guide and the way that Eli is determined to win her over, as he teaches her to be comfortable with her new found wealth. Can't wait for the next book in the series! Definitely recommend this book.
