Shelby and Colt

Shelby is staying with her best friend Whitney above her diner in Carrin, the one place she never thought she would return home to. After her marriage to Andrew failed she had no where else to go. Then Whitney tells her about a job that she just knows Shelby will be great at and she goes for an interview. Molly seems to be a great person. When she asks Shelby to come back the next day at 8am to see how she will fit in with the horses, she readily agrees. Only Molly doesn't show up the next day, instead she calls off sick with the flu. Colt had seen a woman sitting in the waiting area and goes out to see if she had an appointment with Molly. Colt then decides he can do the interview. Shelby is surprised to say the least, then when Colt offers her a different job she is stunned. She isn't sure if she should be around little one's after what happened to Powell, but, the job he offers her is to be the nanny to his two children. She finally accepts and is to start at 8am the next day! Only mama Brooks is still there and he hears the problem before he is completely awake. He bounds out of bed and grabs a pair of pants to put on and goes out to defuse his mother! After the shakey start things get much better. Isaiah and Eleanor seem to take to their new nanny really fast and Shelby seems to like them just as much. Only will these two broken hearts ever be able to heal? Colt misses his beloved wife Amma so much and since she died giving birth to Eleanor he has had a hard time bonding with his daughter. Then there's Shelby, who three months after losing her beautiful baby boy, her husband Andrew demands a divorce! Will these two people ever be able to get over their heartbreaks? What happens when Shelby opens up to Colt? Will he even want her around his children? Only one way to find out, read this great story by Hanna Hart.

A Blind Date With Her Cowboy Billionaire Boss is another great story from the hands of Hannah Hart. A story of two hurting souls that had suffered loss and grief was eating them up and they were stuck. They felt like love would never happen again for them. When Shelby applied for a job working on Colt's guest ranch he hired her for his nanny. He was a widower at 29, and had a 4 year old and a 8 month old and a mother that said it was time for him to take care of his children, she was leaving. But Colt's grief was making him not want to be around them much as they reminded him of his late wife. So now Shelby is being a nanny for his children and she can't shake the grief from her own baby dying and her husband cheating on her and leaving her. The panic attacks are so real but she keeps it a secret. Love has a way to heal hearts and souls lost in grief. But be ready for the flood of emotions this book sends you through. It is an emotional war they fight but the kids work their magic on both of them. One word made a big difference in both their lives. Ellie's first word, Mama.

I found this second novella in a six-book contemporary romance series to be an entertaining, well-constructed, and a well-told story. I was pleased to see that the author not only met the standard for clean romantic writing; she also maintained the standard of protagonists who demonstrated high moral standards. I was highly impressed by the manner with which the author treated the devastation Colt felt as his beloved wife died giving birth to his second child – a daughter. Not only that, but the reality of the effect the SIDS death of Shelby’s infant son was heart-rending. I was impressed with the way the author used these significant life events to build a positive relationship between Colt and Shelby. Unfortunately, the five-star award earned by Ms. Hart was snatched away due to the plethora of editorial errors that remained undetected in the final product. Every one of those errors should have been discovered before publication had a competent editor simply read the manuscript. Since the author is ultimately responsible for the finished product, I award only four-stars for what should have been a five-star award.

Good story, but needs work!

I enjoyed the main characters and plot. However, there is no possible way this book went through a decent proofing process. There were extensive word usage, spelling, and grammatical errors. Flow, development of some of the plot points, and the epilogue also could have used more work. At times I felt more like I was reading a draft. I feel like there are always chunks of the author's books that are great. Unfortunately, I have yet to read one that felt like a fully developed, edited and proofed, professional, final product. If you don't mind stumbling through numerous errors, it may be an enjoyable read you find worth your time.

Sweet and Up!ifting

Trust is the touchstone of love. Colt is the owner, manager and all around provider for the higher luxury level Brookside Ranch in Carrin, Texas. He's also a widower of eight months, with two kids. He's falling apart, depressed and has sworn off love. Shelby has returned to Carrin after a failed marraige, and what she sees as a failed life. She goes to Brookside Ranch for a job interview and comes out the Nanny for Colt's children. Their transition as a couple is touching, moving and redeeming. Overcoming heartbreak is tough but they find a way to trust again and become a loving family together.

Ms Hart needs a proofreader! Her own first name is misspelled as Hana twice in her OWN book.

Two characters are mixed up and other typos arise to jar the reader...window instead of widow, etc.

It’s a good story, if you can get past errors that an editor or proofreader should have caught.

Very good book.

I really liked this book and at the same time was a little upset. I am so use to reading Christian books it kind of caught me off guard. I am VERY THANKFUL that the is a clean romance novel. But I also think that if they had had the love of GOD in their lives things would have been better. I did so enjoy the book!!

Sweet story

The Brooks family is interesting to follow. Hanna Hart has given each brother and the one sister their own personality and story. Colt and Shelby both know heartbreak and loss. Can working as nanny for Colt 's two children help or hurt Shelby 's recovery from the loss of her son. A very sweet and poignant story.

Enjoyed reading

Enjoyed reading about Colt and Shelby. Colt was running one of the families ranches. He had lost his wife and was having a hard time with his children. Shelby had lost her baby to Side and was having a hard time and blaming herself. She goes for a job and Colt hires her as a Nanny. They both struggle with loss but soon start to feel like a family.

Wonderful story

I loved the story line and Shelbys struggle with her pain. Good book but whoever the editor was did not proofread too well. There were several incorrect words and misspelled words used.

Sweet lovely story!

As heartwarming as this story is, it's also sad. But it leaves us with hope that the characters can overcome their past and move on. I wish the author had included God in the mix. It would have seemed more realistic to me. Good read!

Love this author

It’s sad how our past haunts us. Our mind tells you you’re no good. Luckily there is a cowboy that tells her, she is good. We all want to have a tall, dark, handsome cowboy to save us. Great clean story. Can’t wait to start the next book by her.

A Great Read

I totally enjoyed reading this novel. For the most part the book went along fine until you came to one of many errors in the book. Words inserted in sentences that didn't make sense or words in the wrong place in the sentences.

When two people need to heal over loss. Colt's wife died not long after their daughter died and he was raising his two kids alone. Shelby has moved back after the kids of her son to SIDS and then a divorce. But working for him seems to help all of them heal.

Dealing with Death

Both main characters confronted death and loss in their own way. Building a new life and still remembering the old life.
