A Sinful Encore is LIVE! The Brilliance Trilogy is now complete and you can binge read Kace and Aria's story!

MINI-EXCERPT FROM A SINFUL ENCORE
“Aria, baby, I have broken every rule I wrote with you.”

“I’m not sure what that means,” I say cautiously.

His hands settle on my lower back, molding us intimately close, our legs entwined. “It means that I’m in this for keeps.” He strokes my hair from my face and tilts my gaze to his. “I know we need to let everything shake out. I know you need to get to the other side of this secret you’ve been hiding. And I know you need to see where you land afterward, but just know this: I want it to be with me. And then we’ll talk about what forever means for us. I love you, baby.”

“I love you, too. And I want to land right next to you.”

ABOUT THE SERIES
It all started with a note, just a simple note hand written by a woman I didn't know, never even met. But in that note is perhaps every answer to every question I've ever had in my life. And because of that note, I look for her, but find him. I'm drawn to his passion, his talent, a darkness in him that somehow becomes my light, my life. Kace August is rich, powerful, a rockstar of violins, a man who is all tattoos, leather, good looks and talent. He has a wickedly sweet ability to play the violin, seducing audiences worldwide. Now, he’s seducing me. I know he has secrets. I don't care. Because you see, I have secrets, too.

I’m not Aria Alard, as he believes. I’m Aria Stradivari, daughter to Alessandro Stradivari, a musician born from the same blood as the man who created the famous Stradivarius violin. I am as rare as the mere 650 instruments my ancestors created. Instruments worth millions. 650 masterpieces, the brilliance unmatched. 650 reasons to kill. 650 reasons to hide. One reason not to: him.

Note: An ARC was given generously in exchange for an honest review.

Damn. This novel shook me to my core and pulled at my emotional strings (which I usually don't have) so damn bad.

This was everything I wanted. The song I couldn't get out of my head. The song I couldn't stop dancing to, regardless of the fact that it's been some time since I first finished it. IT WAS EVERYTHING, I TELL YOU!

I honestly don't feel like comparing any sequel to it's prequel, but I feel this was slightly better. I don't live for drama usually, (which this book definitely kept springing up with) but I lived for the fact how Kace and Aria tackled it all, and still managed to stay together through it all.

This book had everything - an addicting plot line, plot twists that just keep coming at you from nowhere, steaminess, courtship (my heart couldn't get enough of it), powerful characters, and the resilience to keep on going through it all, no matter how bad it seemed.

And that cliffhanger...fuck. I hate them. But I am willing to suffer through it all, since this is Kace August and Aria Alard we are talking about haha.

So, even though I am still reeling from that cliffhanger, I am willing to wait patiently for the third and final book in the series, in order to completely lose my marbles afterward.

Therefore, I hope you enjoyed this review and will hopefully pick up this series, if you love all of the above in what this made the novel so perfect.

Until the next read,

Mystery and cryptic writing abound.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I love that the author has started putting a catch-up paragraph or chapter in her books now so that we can be reminded of what occurred in the previous stories.
Even without it, I would’ve definitely remembered the connection between these two. Kace is this hard-core violinist with remarkable talent that feels an innate protectiveness over Aria. They have an attachment like none other and just know that they are meant to be together.
But suspicion surrounds everything Aria knows and touches. Can she trust Kace – really? The author just wraps you up and surrounds everything in the story. Who is telling the truth? What really is the truth? Who can you ultimately trust?
So many questions, and yet, one more book to go to get to the truth. How does Jones come up with these plots loaded with steam, passion, brilliant characters, and just enough suspense to keep you frantically turning pages? Mystery and cryptic writing abound.
Another addicting read!
Picking up right where A Reckless Note left off, Kace has to work double time to prove to Aria that he isn't her enemy. Not only isn't he the one to put her in danger, but he's willing to put all of his resources to work to keep her safe. Besides, he's the best person to help her find her missing brother, Gio. He pushes Aria, getting her to accept her heritage, her history, her truth.
I'd expected a man who is dominant, who wants to spank me, to tell me to trust him. Instead, he's showed me the depth of his character that is not all about power, control and success, certainly not about a world that revolves around himself. He's stunned me by telling me to do what no one else has, and what I have never done in my life: trust myself.
I'm so in love with Kace. He is such a swoon-worthy hero. His wealth and his fame are just bonuses to the incredible character that this author created. His heart... love this man's heart. The fact that I'm able to fall in love with him is a testament to LRJ's writing because the entire story is told through Aria's perspective and she isn't the greatest narrator. I am not a fan of single perspectives, which took away from my enjoyment of this story, but obviously I was able to find plenty to entertain me despite not getting Kace's point of view. I think his voice could push this closer to a five-star read. Just sayin'.
You're killing me with these cliffhangers! Thankfully we don't have to wait long for the last book in this trilogy. I'm so curious how everything is going to come together. There are a lot of unanswered questions. I'm also loving the appearances and name drops of other characters from other series, but overall I'm just loving this couple. I like when a couple wants to spend all their time together. They haven't known each other long but Kace does not want Aria out of his sights. That means I get good quality couple time.
This review is going to be short and sweet because I don't want to accidentally give anything away. A WICKED SONG picks up right where A RECKLESS NOTE left off, when we were made aware that Kace has been hiding a very big secret.
Aria is still trying to find her brother Gio but now she's not sure she can trust Kace, or anyone for that matter. This story had so many twist and turns, Lisa Renee Jones did a wonderful job with keeping the romance between Kace and Aria alive while we were on a roller-coaster ride of suspense and thrills.
This story also ends on a cliffhanger but the final book in the trilogy will be here next month, and I for one cannot wait to get my hands on A SINFUL ENCORE.
If you enjoy Romantic Suspense this is the trilogy for you!
Happy Reading!!!
Thrilling read. I liked the way the story flowed and kept my interest, never a dull moment when reading a book by Lisa Renee Jones and the Brilliance Trilogy is no exception! This second installment was intense and had me reading like crazy. I love Kace and how he is so perfect for Aria. The trust and love they share is simply amazing.
« That’s the thing about two damaged souls who connect. Sometimes they destroy each other. But when the stars align, when the souls align with them, you heal each other. You make each other stronger. In my heart of hearts, I believe he makes me stronger. I dare to believe that I just might do the same for him. »
As usual Lisa Renee jones leave you hanging on by the tips of your fingernails yes a cliffy!!! I have enjoyed Aria & Kace they have an amazing connection, however Kace keeps warning Aria she will run when she finds out he big secret he's holding. Aria believes if Kace know her true identity and hasn't run for the hills because of her Stradivarus name and history and the danger it holds, why would she run from him.
Aria wants to be happy with Kace but with Gio still missing she feels guilty for being so happy. Kace has given Aria close friends, his family and a sense of belong for the first time since she was eleven years old. Will Walker security find Gio? Will she find the formula for the Stradivarus violins what is their next move? I also love how Lisa Renee jones brings back characters from inside out series. Chris & Sara and Mark & Crystal, Walker security Savage with his fun witty humor and his big personality and Blake Walker & Adrian which is getting his own story.
This picks up exactly where book one ended. Almost immediately, everything begins moving at warp speed as Aria and Kace deal with a relationship that promises to be more, the threat to Aria’s secret being revealed and the disappearance of her brother.
Watching this couple grow closer together as they work to solve the problems surrounding them had me alternately swooning or gasping. There is no denying that their chemistry is hot and why wouldn’t it be when you’ve got a smexy hero like Kace?
The Best Violin ⋆ Hear the Music Play
I love how this author manages to slowly unravel the mystery a step at a time without ever cluing us in to what the ultimate reveal will be. While I knew this was going to end in a cliffhanger, getting to the end was quite a ride filled with plenty of the Walker guys, my favorite Inside Out characters and new revelations that left me shocked.
READ AN EXCERPT:
“I want you,” he says. “Just you.”
“How do I know that?”
A low, frustrated sound escapes his lips and he drops the medication bag, and spikes fingers into my hair, a low curse escaping his lips. His eyes meet mine, and the depth of the emotion he then spikes in me steals my breath. Before I can catch it again, he’s breathing for me. His mouth slants over my mouth, his tongue licking a wicked, seductive note against my tongue. And despite my injured hand and my burdened heart, I melt the way I always melt for this man. I melt and I moan, and when he tears his mouth from mine, I am panting.
“That is how you know,” he declares. “We are connected, you and me. We both feel it.”
“All that says is that I want you and that I have the potential to be foolish because of that desire, but I won’t live up to that potential, Kace.”
“How do I know you aren’t after my money?”
I blanch. “Because I’m not. You know I’m not.”
“Can you prove it?”
“You know I’m not,” I repeat.
His hands come down on my shoulders and he pulls back to look at me as he says, “I do know you, but that still requires me trusting you and I’ve had plenty of reasons in my life not to offer you that trust. Reasons you don’t know. Many reasons, Aria. Many betrayals. But I give you my trust anyway. I’m not after the formula, but all I have to offer is my word. You have to decide if you trust me.”
My hand settles on his chest, and his heart beats a rowdy song beneath my palm. “I’m very confused right now,” I confess, and it’s as honest as I have ever been with him or me. “And my head is spinning.”
His hand covers my hand on his chest. “Then let me take care of you. Let me take you home.”
There is a library filled with books the size of all the reasons I should say no, but even as I have that thought, he says, “Don’t say no.”
Words he’s said to me every moment of indecision I’ve ever shared with him. And right or wrong, like every time before, I don’t say no. I say, “Yes.”
My god, I couldn’t wait to dive into A Wicked Song after the ending to A Reckless Note. Had to see what happened between Aria and Kace.
Had to see what happened when the truth about Aria’s real name—who her family is—was revealed. And see if there was any further news on Gio’s disappearance.
And I was not disappointed! I love how real the romance between Kace and Aria is developing. How there are still many secrets between them, but that they’re slowly beginning to open themselves to a future together, one built on trust and honesty. Well, once they both share all the skeletons hiding in their closets.
I love where their story is going. Love how the mystery is unfolding. And am anxiously waiting for the final book in the Brilliance Trilogy, A Sinful Encore to be released next month. ~ Missy, 5 stars
The thing with this book (and the first book as well) is that nothing major happens. There’s no actual plot. They try to find ways to locate heroine’s brother while facing some difficulties but that’s it. Almost nothing is revealed (except for some secrets) and the only thing I got from this book is to see more of the side characters and the way they come closer to the main ones.
What bothered me was that when something bad or unexpected happened Kace and Aria immediately tried to solve it with getting pleasure… Yes, the intimate scenes were hot, but I’m not interested in reading more of them because I’ve had enough already in both books.
This book was ok for the most part so I can’t say I didn’t like it, and overall, it was a decent read. Nothing more, nothing less.
I hope the next one will be more satisfying and that we’ll get to know why everything happened.
Note that there is a cliffhanger!
More questions than answers but I didn’t expect anything else. Guess we are waiting to find out all the answers in A Sinful Encore.
Yes, some questions were answered in A Wicked Song. We find out more about Kace but I don’t think we found out everything. Aria has been an open book from the beginning (I think) so that’s moot at this time. And Gio? Well, we have no idea, yet.
Aria accepts the explanation from Kace. She starts trusting him and the people around him. She also knows that Alexander has a hidden agenda. What it is, we don’t know that one yet. And, where does Ed fit in here? What’s his problem with Alexander and will it affect Aria and Kace? And, where is Gio? Who is Sophia? Where is the formula? What waits for them in Paris? In Italy? So many questions that need to be answered to bring this trilogy to a conclusion.
Again, Lisa Renee Jones has us sitting on the edge of our seats. And, what a cliffhanger in this one. My mouth dropped open and my mind went to “more questions that need explanations”. But then I smiled remembering who I am reading … the Mistress of Romantic Suspense. I love how I sit here and my brain tries to decipher what is going on, who’s playing who and where everything is leading us to. A happily-ever-after, most definitely. But, her hero’s and heroines have to work so hard and overcome so many obstacles to get there. It’s interesting going through the twists and turns with them. Then, she brings in such beloved characters to support them. Mark and Crystal, Chris and Sara, Blake … damn, Savage. Yes, beloved characters that we know and love which only makes us love Aria and Kace more if that’s who they chose to trust and be friends with.
I am so looking forward to A Sinful Encore for all the reasons listed above. I’m a curious person and can’t wait to have my curiosity satisfied. Of course, I expect no less than what Lisa Renee Jones always gives us … perfection, satisfaction, a little bit of drama, a whole lot of love and the perfect happily-ever-after.
Heartstopping action, breathtaking romance and mysteries that just won't quit. Jones gives readers something to look forward to with every novel. Reckless Note got the ball rolling. A Wicked Song keeps the suspense flowing and the attraction growing. Aria and Kace dive heart first into a sea of danger that richochets off the emotions and boggles the mind. It's easy to lose yourself in the unpredictable.
❤~🌟~❤ 4.5 GRANDIOSE STARS! ❤~🌟~❤
“Listen to the music in your heart....”
Anticipation was at an all-time high as I dove into A WICKED SONG, the second scintillating installment in Lisa Renee Jones’s Brilliance Trilogy. And holy wowza did this book STRIKE A CHORD! Teeming with spellbinding romance, glittering mystique and pulse pounding suspense, this entrancing tale gave me goosebumps galore!!
PREMISE:
This new book picks up right where A RECKLESS NOTE left off, with an injured Aria fleeing from Kace’s apartment after stumbling upon a web of lies about the man she’s been falling hopelessly in love with. To her shock and disbelief, the world-famous violinist not only knows her true identity but has been keeping dangerous secrets that could not only derail her life, and their bludgeoning relationship, but seriously jeopardize her search for her brother Gio. But even though her mind warns that she should get as far away as possible from him, her heart adamantly disagrees. Because this sexily tatted, leather and black denim adorned “rock god” is NOT an easy man to run from. And he is not about to let this beautiful woman go. His game plan? To use every resource at his disposal to keep her!
With the stakes higher than ever, the red-hot lust between this combustible duo rages to a blazing inferno. And although she’s not sure whether she should trust him, or anyone for that matter, as they are once again swept up in a whirlwind of passion and intrigue, Aria’s heady addiction to this sinfully seductive rock legend is undeniable!!! But will true love triumph or will WICKED SECRETS lead to their swan song ….?
MY MUSINGS:
Set once again in the Inside Out world, A WICKED SECRET held my heart in a vice grip from page one! The tempestuous relationship between smoldering hot rock star violinist, Kace August, and the beautifully beleaguered Aria Alard, owner of Accent Collectibles, reaches a fever pitch in this exhilarating second installment as love and destiny, desire and deception collide.
The stakes intensify in this story as Kace and Aria face off against some dastardly players--and each other--as they strive to get answers without losing what’s most precious to them in the process!. But even with all the doubts and mistrust still lurking beneath the surface, their feverish lust and soul deep longing for each other cannot be contained. However, can they truly count on each other or are they working at cross purposes?
Well, with a dark, enigmatic, uber intense alpha hero like Kace, it’s anyone’s guess! But I will say that where Aria is concerned he will do anything to possess her heart, body and soul, and while we may not quite know yet what makes him tick, make no mistake that Aria fuels his every dominant, dirty, protective instinct! And even though, after what she’s discovered about him, she questions whether their love is real—or based on a lie—deep down we KNOW he cherishes this woman with every fiber of his being! Although I was once again a bit disappointed that we did not get Kace’s pov in this book, it’s to this author’s credit and a true testament of her creative genius that she made me fall head over heels in love with this swoon-worthy hero even though we have yet to hear his full side of the story!
As for Aria, I loved her sweetness, her intelligence, her aching vulnerability, , her grit and determination, her fierce loyalty and her kind loving heart. But Kace is not the only one with something to hide —not only are she and her brother, Gio, the last remaining family members of the Stradivari family whose ancestor created the infamous Stradivarius violins, but she fears that her brothers disappearance is linked to their tragic family history. And after that shocking note she found by Kace could the man she’s falling desperately in love be using her to get his hands on the secret formula to create the Stradivarius instrument......? Or are there other nefarious players pulling all the strings? Nevertheless, for as hard as she tries to keep her guard up around Kace, she cannot resist the magnetic allure of this wickedly sexy rock star violinist who captivates her heart, intoxicates her senses, and stirs her insatiable craving for him with every quavering breath she takes.
“He smells like man and musk, like fresh grass in the sunshine on a rainy day, like heaven in the midst of hell. He feels like the comfort of home and the fire of desire.”
Eeep there are so many unknowns in this story, but ONE thing’s for sure amid all this palpable danger and puzzling mystique....they positively OOZE sparks and sizzling chemistry! What makes this duo so irresistible is that Kace and Aria have such a powerful and INTIMATE bond that they set my kindle aflame each and every time they locked eyes...and lips! But not only do they positively smolder between the sheets, they share a direct link to each other’s pasts that infuses their storyline with heart palpitating drama and oodles of emotional strife . Which provides them with incredible rooting value. For despite their tumult and turmoil, they are fiercely devoted to one another and fight tooth and nail for a future together…even when they are embroiled in their own emotional warfare.
Sigh. Aria and Kace really yanked at my heartstrings and there was never a doubt in my mind that they are fated for each other! But the road they traverse together is truly a minefield and our boy Kace has to some major damage control to regain Aria’s broken trust. As such he will do whatever it takes to woo his woman, to keep her safe, to help her track down her MIA brother and, finally, to ensure that they are each other’s end game!
Take it from me…this plot is as unpredictable as it is all consuming and you will be frantically turning the pages dying to find out how this story unfolds. The evolving mystery about the whereabouts of Aria’s brother offers us new clues to mull over while at the same time keeps us scratching our heads as the protagonists race against time to try to find him—and unravel the mystery of her past—before it’s too late. Reinforcements come in the form of memorable cameos from past faves who help propel the story forward in the most provocative of ways! But, of course, since this is just the second act you know there is a doozy of a cliffy at the end!
BOTTOM LINE:
A WICKED SONG is chock full of all the BREATHTAKING GRANDEUR that we have come to expect from a titillating LRJ read. Can’t wait for the epic grand finale!
4.5 - 5 stars...
The good news is that A Wicked Song takes up exactly where A Reckless Note left off. The bad news is, the second book in The Brilliance Trilogy ends in another cliff hanger that leaves readers stunned. So much so that my initial reaction when I finished was simply “Gah!” Articulate, I know, but sometimes there are just no words…
I’m going to apologize ahead of time for the vagueness of this review. I usually gush over books that I love as much as I’ve loved both books in this series, but there are some pretty crazy turn of events in A Wicked Song. So many that I’m afraid if I say too much, I’ll inadvertently give something away. What I can say is that the writing in A Wicked Song was just as lyrical as in A Reckless Note. Not flowery or over the top, but the style fit the subject of the story as well as the characters.
Once again, readers only got Aria’s POV, but that was enough, even though it was frustrating at times. Having Kace’s POV would have totally changed the feel of the story – especially in the beginning. The supporting characters were great (I’m kind of in love with a certain body guard BTW.) Most of them made me want to go in search of their own personal stories in previous books. Although I think I’ll wait until I’ve completed The Brilliance Trilogy first. There’s a certain mystery behind them from Aria’s POV that makes them even more intriguing. 😉
The end of A Reckless Note was shocking as well as heartbreaking. The end of A Wicked Song? Shocking pretty much covers it along with “Gah!” and the fact that September 22 can’t come soon enough for the release of A Sinful Encore. ❤
I received A Wicked Song in exchange for a fair and honest review.
A Wicked Song by Lisa Renee Jones
Trust was a delicate word for Aria. Years of looking over her shoulder, keeping secrets had made her wary of everyone around her. Who could she trust? But Kace knew who she was. He knew her history and he was willing to stand by her side, protect her and help her. Was this a trap? She can't help but feel guilty. Her brother could be in trouble and she was living a new life with a man that worshipped her. Kace warned Aria about his dark past, but how dark exactly was it? This instalment ends on a cliffhanger, which leaves us begging this exact question. How dark was Kace's past? And why was everyone warning her? Or should she remember her father's words and the true meaning of the daisy in the wind? And was the formula closer to home than she realised? Oh, Ms Jones has done it again. A journey, filled with plenty of nail-biting moments. The plot was so suspenseful and you kept wondering when the next climax was going to send you spiralling. And trust me, it did. Throw in a few sizzling moments and Kace will have you drooling. I cannot wait to read the final instalment.
This is book two in the Brilliance Trilogy. A Reckless Note is a must read before you read this one.
This continues where book one ends. The pace is fast and I couldn’t read this fast enough. After reading this I now have more questions now that need answering.
Brilliant read with lots of suspense. I was glued from start to finish. Can’t wait to read book three.
I’ll review for the entire series. It was good. A bit over dramatic and repetitive. But it was classic LRJ and kept me interested the entire time!
OMG this trilogy is getting better and better with each book. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happened next. I was on a roller coaster of a ride and I was just sitting there reading and reading saying holy hell. There is so much suspense in this book that I thought I knew what was going to happen next when in fact I was wrong.
Lisa does a great job with Aria and Kace. Kace is this serious violinist that has this need to want to protect Kace. While Kace has no idea what she wants or what is happening to her. I could go on and on about this book but I don't want to ruin it for anyone. This is a must read trilogy so go one out and one click both books before the ending comes.
READ AN EXCERPT:
“I want you,” he says. “Just you.”
“How do I know that?”
A low, frustrated sound escapes his lips and he drops the medication bag, and spikes fingers into my hair, a low curse escaping his lips. His eyes meet mine, and the depth of the emotion he then spikes in me steals my breath. Before I can catch it again, he’s breathing for me. His mouth slants over my mouth, his tongue licking a wicked, seductive note against my tongue. And despite my injured hand and my burdened heart, I melt the way I always melt for this man. I melt and I moan, and when he tears his mouth from mine, I am panting.
“That is how you know,” he declares. “We are connected, you and me. We both feel it.”
“All that says is that I want you and that I have the potential to be foolish because of that desire, but I won’t live up to that potential, Kace.”
“How do I know you aren’t after my money?”
I blanch. “Because I’m not. You know I’m not.”
“Can you prove it?”
“You know I’m not,” I repeat.
His hands come down on my shoulders and he pulls back to look at me as he says, “I do know you, but that still requires me trusting you and I’ve had plenty of reasons in my life not to offer you that trust. Reasons you don’t know. Many reasons, Aria. Many betrayals. But I give you my trust anyway. I’m not after the formula, but all I have to offer is my word. You have to decide if you trust me.”
My hand settles on his chest, and his heart beats a rowdy song beneath my palm. “I’m very confused right now,” I confess, and it’s as honest as I have ever been with him or me. “And my head is spinning.”
His hand covers my hand on his chest. “Then let me take care of you. Let me take you home.”
There is a library filled with books the size of all the reasons I should say no, but even as I have that thought, he says, “Don’t say no.”
Words he’s said to me every moment of indecision I’ve ever shared with him. And right or wrong, like every time before, I don’t say no. I say, “Yes.”
So first and foremost this book will not make a lick of sense without reading the first book. First the book begins where Reckless note left off with Aria running from Kace’s apartment feeling he has betrayed her and wants the something from her and this is why he seduced her. Only this is not the Kace I got to know and love. At least I don’t think so. Does the ending have me casting doubt on this? A smidge but I also remember that Kace is tied to Aria and Gio in a way I didn’t expect.
The second book ties Kace into Aria’s world. It also opens up the danger and intrigue more into a name and a family. But allows us to get a mystery as well. There are so many Arachne’s strings that all somehow tie together that you are feeling weaved into the web of danger and intrigue and don’t want to be let go. We have the mystery of Gio and what he has been up to, the story of a last name and the danger involved in it, the romance of Kace and Aria (which my kindle steamed up considerably from wowza those two have some serous chemistry), Kace’s demons and his issue with Alexander, Kace’s tie to Aria and her family and why things feel like they are pushed into things, and the mysterious violin in Italy and how it ties to all that is going on. Not sure how but I feel it in my bones that it does. And the mystery of Sophia is really fascinating.
Each character is unique in their own way and ties somehow to the story. Not sure how the tie completely into the plot but they do. For example Crystal and Mark run Riptide Auction house so they are inadvertently brought in via a private auction. They are also friend’s of Kace’s and find that Aria may be something that they could use to help sales. We have Chris and Sara, who help Aria in ways I didn’t expect but also help keep Kace and Aria from falling apart to me. Jenni and her husband who I am not sure where in the end they will fit in. Alexander who is a snake or is he really? His and Kace’s past is murky and complicated. How he ties into the mystery I am not sure unless it is to show us the dark side of Kace but that dark side isn’t as bad as I imagined.
Kace I loved from book one and love more now. He is honest and down to earth. He holds his secrets tight but once he lets someone in he gives them his absolute faith and trust. Aria she is warming on me. I think it’s her trust issues that are taking me longer to love her . I understand where they are coming from but she is quick to do something rash and not talk first about it. That is my only issue with her. They are both kind, sweet characters with pasts that are haunting them.
The phrases that bind and bring back memories. The danger this couple is in and the secrets that are being slowly revealed keep you on the edge of your seat and that romance has your Kindle steam up. We learn more about Kace and who he is and get a bit of how he ties into this mystery but this string also leads to a lot of questions as well. And that ending wow just has me all kinds of questioning going on in the noggin.
An amazing story from beginning to end. I need this last book so I can get all the answers and see if Kace and Aria are together after this ending.
I prefered A Wicked Song to the first book, A Reckless Note. Although the 'recipe' for new adult/suspense books is always fairly predictable (This book contained more angst, with a climax argument etc) it was a good read still.
I read this over 1 sitting and in fairness was totally enamoured with the book I read before it, so this really was against a lot (Don't you find that when you read an amazing book that often the book after could be great, but you are still running off the high of the previous book and nothing really compares?) in my standards. I found A Wicked Song a fast page turner and although I did skim the sex parts (Honestly does anyone really do it that amount and that in depth EVERYTIME?!) I still felt the connection of the characters.
I loved meeting a few new faces in this book, especially the addition of Walker security. I also liked the new friendships and trust Aria was gaining in her life. Finding out what the stick up Alexander's arse was helped too. So yes, A Wicked Song gained 4 stars from me. Although many would find that ending page a cliffhanger, I felt it was a little predictable and if not 'that' character would have been another similar one - I won't give spoilers but hope you get what I mean there for those who have read it.
Onwards and upwards, I look forward to the final installment A Sinful Encore!
I have been waiting for more of Kace and Aria’s story since the cliffhanger of an ending in book one, A Reckless Note. This book picks up right where things left off for these two characters.
I was quickly sucked back into the world of Kace and Aria and I loved every single moment of this book. Some questions were answered; however, many more questions came up. Plus, Aria is still trying to locate her brother, Gio.
Their chemistry is continuing to grow throughout this story and I love their relationship. Kace is protective of Aria, he doesn’t want her to leave his site, but he isn’t annoyingly overly protective. I love the visits from other characters, too.
The mystery continues throughout A Wicked Song and we are left with another jaw dropping cliffhanger. I can’t wait for the conclusion of this story to see how everything comes together and to see Kace and Aria’s relationship progress.
I read this book immediately after book 1 and I still need to re-read them before book 3 because I know I need the immediate gratification. And I have to follow the story of Kace and Aria from start to finish in 1 fell swoop.
This book picks up where book 1 left off. Aria is still trying to find her past and trust Kace again. But because of who he is and who she is, she isn't sure that Kace wants her or her lineage. But Kace and Aria's off the charts relationship just leaps off the page.
As with every Lisa Renee Jones book I've ever read, the characters and storyline SUCK ME IN! I'm immediately captivated and must read from start to finish what happened. As with every multiple book series, this one ends on a cliffhanger that will leave you BEGGING for more! And that's definitely what I am doing. September 22 cannot come soon enough!!
A Wicked Song by Lisa Renee Jones is book 2 in the Brilliance Trilogy. This is Aria Alard and Kace August's story that is continued on in this read. You need to read book 1 to make sure you have the story and characters down before moving on to book 2. A Wicked Song picks up where book 1 left off. Aria is still trying to find her brother, Gio but now add the attraction flaring between her and Kace. Aria's not sure if he's even trustworthy but she has to trust someone because she needs Gio found. There's so many twists and turns that occur, there's danger, action, suspense, intrigue, tons of feels, secrets, lies, and that hot passion that flares between Kace and Aria all while the search is on. I loved the emotions and the past characters that dropped in to join the search. And that ending!! I can't wait for book 3!!
My Rating: 4.5 stars *******
Book two of the Brilliance trilogy is about what you would expect for the next book out of this series. Aria and Kace kick off right where we stop in A Reckless Note. Aria is not sure what is going on with her and Kace and after what she has found out she doesn't see a future between them. But Kace is willing to give away a few secrets at a time in little bits of pieces.
This is what keeps me reading this trilogy. Aria for the first time in her life is trusting someone, even if he only gives a little of himself and his past she is still willing to stand by him. The little tidbits we get from Kace and the strength that Aria shows when she is with him keeps me staying with this couple. I am excited to see where this storyline ends up.
