**A never before released volume from Spurgeon on life in the Holy Spirit**
"Dear Christian, the Spirit is at work in you. Don't be discouraged. You may feel like God is sick and tired of waiting for you to get it together. Well, remember that the fruit of the Spirit is also a description of the Spirit himself. He is loving, joyful, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle, and in control. You are in good hands." —J.A. Medders from the Foreword

Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834-1892) was England's best-known preacher for most of the second half of the nineteenth century. In 1854, just four years after his conversion, Spurgeon, then only 20, became pastor of London's famed New Park Street Church (formerly pastored by the famous Baptist theologian, John Gill). The congregation quickly outgrew their building, moved to Exeter Hall, then to Surrey Music Hall. In these venues, Spurgeon frequently preached to audiences numbering more than 10,000—all in the days before electronic amplification. In 1861, the congregation moved permanently to the newly constructed Metropolitan Tabernacle.
Great compilation of sermons on understanding, knowing, and journeying with the Holy Spirit!!

Favorite Quote: “Once more, the Holy Ghost can be yet more fully possesses by all believers… let us be certain that if we have been taught of the Spirit, there us more light yet for the Spirit to give us: if we have been quickened of the Spirit, there is more life yet for the Spirit to impart to us; if we have been comforted, there are greater consolations yet which the Spirit of God cab apple to our hearts; if we have been made string, we can be stronger yet to do greater exploits; if we have had communion with Christ, we can have closer communion yet, and enter more thoroughly into the secret place of the tabernacle of the Most High. If it can be, then why should it not be?”
I enjoyed this book from Charles Spurgeon giving in simple terms and explanations, the power of the Holy Spirit and realizing His importance in the Trinity. We don't always understand the Holy Spirit's role, and this is where Charles Spurgeon gave practical examples and analogies. Recommend this book for every Christian.
Excellent book! Well worth the read and very encouraging. These are full length sermons of around 20 pages each. It is best to read the whole sermon in one sitting to maintain the flow of thought. So it might take a couple hours of focused attention at a time. So this book took me many months to read since I had to dedicate the time to sit and read an entire chapter. Even the Foreward by J.A Medders is outstanding.
This is a great and practical little book, even though I disagree on minor points. Read it all, especially the last chapter. May God stir many hearts ablaze unto Jesus.
