Twenty-four-year-old Ariel Turner has spent her life working alongside her brothers on her father's ranch in Wyoming. Her dream, since childhood, has been to own some land for herself to feel independent and free. However, being a woman has almost set her dream on fire. Is there any chance that her dream could turn into reality? Sometimes what seems like a great opportunity can turn into great disappointment.
Jesse Flynn is a mistake-ridden Boston businessman who inherited the neighboring ranch of Ariel's family. He arrived in the small town of Pinevale with intentions that are not immediately obvious. Will he manage to achieve his plan before someone finds out? When he sets his eyes upon her he feels for the first time in his life that he's found his place. How will Jesse's past failures follow him and put in danger his new life and happiness?
Sparks fly when the lady rancher meets the businessman. They go about the property operations, side by side as business partners, while secretly, they each long for something more from the other than a good work ethic. Will they find a way to solve their differences, when clouds appear on the horizon or the rain will destroy everything? Is a single mistake enough to break them apart?
"A Liberating Love to Set Her Free" is a historical western romance novel of approximately 80,000 words. No cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed happily ever after.
Talk about opposites attracting one another! Jesse comes to Pinevale to receive his inheritance and then sell it to pay off a huge debt that he is too embarrassed to talk about, but is thrown a loophole in the reading of the will in that he can't sell, but, has to stay and live on the ranch for three months! Then you have Ariel. Ariel is the most independent young woman Jesse has ever met who not only lives next door, but, who his Aunt Sue loves like the daughter she never had. All Ariel has ever wanted was a ranch of her own to work. She's better than both her brothers when it comes to riding and taking care of the cattle thanks to her father. When Jesse and Ariel met however, something neither expected to happen to them does, they fall in love! After they marry things start to unravel. The lies of omission are devastating to them and their young love! Then Reese shows up and further complicates things for Jesse. How will he explain his actions? What does Reese want? What happens when he gets what he's after? Will Jesse and Ariel ever get their happiness? Only one way to find out what happens next, read this great story by Carol Colyer and don't forget the extended epilogue where everything comes together very nicely.
This was an enjoyable read. The title of the book is, “A Liberating Love to Set Her Free” but it could also be titled, “A Liberating Love to Set Him Free.” The main characters in the book are Ariel Turner and Jesse Flynn and they both seem to need freeing. Ariel wants to ranch and do the work that is done mostly by men. Jesse is encumbered by bad business deals and ventures. In addition to that he seems to be doing everything he can to gain his Father’s approval. However Ariel becoming a Mother changes everything for her. Her overriding desire to be a Rancher has been replaced by her desire to be a good Mother. Jesse has been very open to working the ranch and generally doing the work done mostly by men. He seems to be confused by her change in her desires regarding Ranching versus that of a being a Mother. Also he has this tendency to try and TELL his wife, Ariel what to do and to make decisions involving her without discussing it with her first. This doesn’t go over to well with Ariel. Both of them tend to worry about what the other is thinking or planning to do; because one thing they don’t do well is communicate. That is often the problem in lots of relationships. I enjoyed the main characters as well as the characters in the story. They were very well developed and the pace of the storyline was very good. There was no profanity and no sexually explicit dialogue. I look forward to reading more from this Author.
A Liberating Love To Set Her Free is another historical western by Carol Colyer. This story is about how people interact within a marriage situation, within a family situation, and within a business situation. Jesse meets Ariel and falls in love. They immediately marry. Ariel knew how to run a ranch which was unusual for a young woman. Her desire in life was to have a ranch of her own to run. Jesse knew business. Instead of working together to become a thriving ranch, Jesse makes a business deal behind Ariel's back after she told him it would not be in the ranch's best interest. So now Ariel runs back to Mama's. When Jesse gets a lesson on marriage by Aunt Sue and his father Earl he gets Ariel back. But, Jesse didn't know how to talk like a businessman, husband, or family member. When he is put in his place by the cook after he spoke rudely to her, and Aunt Sue let's him know he needs to learn to accept life changes and he needed to talk to people in such a way as the occasion warranted, he then had to finally learn how to talk to Ariel as his wife and partner not as his hired hand. When they learned how to interact in such a way, they began to prosper and their love grew along with their family and ranch.
AN EXTREMELY THRILLING TREAT!!! Deceits afoot! Carol brought the house down, razed the town and left nothing but rubble in her wake. A spinning eddy kicking up a churning vortex chocked-full of vexing circumstances and a slew of surprising events that keep you flipping page after page. Jumping through hoops, hurdling the trials and tribulations along with a slew of plot twists that blasts this bad boy to life flawlessly. Throw in distress, intrigue, turmoil and suspense and you have the recipe for one block busting, prize winning dynamo. The chemistry is intense, sizzling and palpable. The characters are authentic, genuine and realistic with such depth and qualities that blend and transform into amazing personalities. The scenes are so vividly detailed it gives the illusion you were right there standing in the middle of ground zero with them. Fantastic job Carol, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.
This is the story of Jesse & Ariel as the main characters. There are many others characters in this book. Jesse is from the city. He inherited a ranch from his uncle. He was always looking for approval from his father in whatever business ventures he did. Ariel is a rancher's daughter who works her father's ranch, which is unusual for a woman. Jesse goes to Wyoming with every intention of selling the ranch for a debt he owes. Ariel's family is their neighbor. That's how they meet. This story has a lot of twists and turns, mostly of which come from inside Jesse's head, but some from the person he owes his debt to. It has a great story line to it. It is a good read for Western story readers.
I received an ARC of this book from the author, Carol Colyer, and this is my voluntary and honest review. I enjoyed this romance between Jesse and Ariel. They had ups and downs in their first years of marriage but love won in the end. It was great reading about several of their friends finding true love also and working together to build their ranch into a large working ranch after Jesse almost ruined everything. This story proves that it takes team work to make a marriage and a business survive. This book is well worth reading and be sure to read the extended epilogue that is offered at the end of the book. It is the icing on the cake.
This is a wonderful story about a young man that seems to always making bad investments trying to live up to his fathers expectations. When his last investment falls thru leaving him $15000 in debt he thinks he is on top of the world when he receives word that his late uncle has left him his ranch in Wyoming. He plans on going there selling it then coming back to Boston and paying his debt. When he hears the will it says he must live there and work the ranch for 3 month first. Will he have what it takes
I enjoyed this story. The story is well written, but the plot becomes shaky at times, but the author manages to pull out of it. I love Ariel, but I really on the fence at first as Jesse being the hero in this story. Jesse starts to actually grow up and realize that it takes hard work to become successful. It seems like his past is just a bunch of excuses for his failures. He never really put any hard work in to make a business a success. Ariel teaches him how to be a hard worker and see the success the ranch could be, if only he didn't have that debt hanging over his head.
True to life feelings for the characters. I enjoyed reading about Jesse and Ariel. They are people who have pushed through heartache and have come through the fire. They have been able to love and be loved. They show the same struggles that we go through in everyday life. I so enjoyed this book. It reminded me that we all have to look to God to make sure that we stay on the right path in life.
A Liberating Love to Set Her Free A Historical Western Romance Book
A very good story about Jessie Flynn a young man failing at business inherited his uncle "A ranch and then he met Ariel and all she wanted was to be able to run a ranch but when she became a mother her priorities changed and Jessie found it hard to accept. The extended epilogue is also very good and enjoyable and Jessie and Ariel realized love is very important
A lady rancher and city slicker. What a realistic and authentic group of characters Ms. Colyer has given her reader. I loved how detailed the book was. Like all the author books she has put some challenges from personal to weather. I think that is what really makes this book a must-read. Ariel and Jesse's partnership was very interesting I just wonder if Ariel's temper will get her in trouble. I loved the book and I hope you check it out.
A wonderful romantic western novel. I really enjoyed the characters, and their development. Secrets can really cause misunderstandings and present problems for the future. Not communicating your feelings is also a pitfall. Father son relations are sometimes way off, and young men are not settled in their role in live. Working together is a way to cement relations, and here it did work. I would recommend this to any western romantic reader, thank you, Jack.
Ariel Turner is one of the best ranch hands that her father has. When she goes to dinner at her friend and neighbor Sue's place she meets Sue's nephew Jesse Flynn. Jesse up to this point has had several failed business endeavors and now finds himself stuck on his Uncle and Aunt's ranch for 3 months until he can inherit it and do as he pleases with it. Jesse plans to sell until a little help from Ariel and the land starts changing his mind. Sweet historical romance set in Wyoming.
Carol Colyer has once again given us wonderful characters. Jesse and Ariel have a problem communicating with each other. Both react to what they think the other is thinking. This story has several twists and turns that come together to keep us guessing whether their marriage will survive. Be sure and read the extended epilogue.
I think the author developed her characters quite well, but for Jessie becoming quite demanding and almost bully like with the love of his life, they were all very human and believable. This is what I like most about Mrs. Coulter’s books. One can easily identify with her characters. Her stories are always sweet with good endings and I always enjoy them.
Bostonian entrepreneur meets a Wyoming female rancher
Jesse inherited a ranch from his uncle and plans to dona quick sale and return to Boston. But he never figured on Ariel the daughter of his new next door ranch neighbor. Jesse and Ariel are a bit of oil and water and their relationship is sometimes rocky and even uncomfortable for those around them.
Can love be instant? Can different life styles merge?
What an enjoyable and we'll written story. Loved the varying personalities of the characters. Loved that they tried, despite their differences tried to support one another in their own struggling way. A great story, well written.
It was hard to get involved with the main characters as they were a bit unlikeable. As they grew in maturity they became more interesting. They learned better communication techniques and actually spoke with each other instead of assuming what the other one was feeling or meaning. A few too many typos as well. 3.5 rounded to 4.
This one starts out kind of slow but don't give up on it....it gets infinitely better! The characters are so true to life. The struggles in the marriage. The self doubts. The lack of communication! And not just one love story here!
This is a very good story about the ups and downs of life and learning to have faith in one another and listening to each other and trusting in yourself. This was a very good story and enjoyable to read and I enjoyed reading it very much
I liked the characters, especially Aunt Sue and Mary Elizabeth, they were wise down to earth women. Jesse was a but childish but up in time. Ariel was a fiery young woman who had some growing up to do as well. The story was good with some intrigue. It was a good read.
A nice story over all. I could do with a bit less on the petty childish behavior though. That got a bit old..thinking seriously. Thankfully that changed in the end.
I enjoyed this clean Christian novel. It is a different story line than Most books I read but enjoyable. The only parts I did not like was All the alcoholic consumed by all the adults I feel was unnecessary.
This d book was a good read. The story was good & well written. The ch archers were great & kept the story int e resting. The story had a lot of excitement & love.
