KEITH (The Hartwell Brothers Book 1) by M. S. Parker KEITH (The Hartwell Brothers Book 1) By: M. S. Parker
A Great Read That Surely Doesn't Disappoint!! One-Click "KEITH!"
"KEITH" doesn't want His Brother Marrying a Scheming, Rich, Spoiled Socialite...
Sooo, "KEITH" devises a Scheme to set HIM Up,
With an Innocent, Curvy, Gorgeous Teacher instead...
But things don't go as "KEITH" planned,
And instead it's "KEITH" WHO falls for Her HimSelf!
Only... "KEITH" is a Fool!
And "KEITH" IS NOT VERY NICE,
Sooo it takes quite awhile for things to come together,
But if you One-Click "KEITH," you'll see that "KEITH" got a clue, & grew...
I was granted, via B00|{$P®0UT, an ARC of M. S. Parker's "KEITH (The Hartwell Brothers Book 1)." I recommend this book to others based upon its own merits. All opinions expressed within this review are uniquely my own & freely given!
Until next time... Happy Reading!

A Refreshingly Different Kind Of Love Story That Takes The Reader On An Unexpected And Emotional Journey!

This is the first book in The Hartwell Brothers series. The love story of Matthias Sr. and Alice Hartwell, grandparents to the four Hartwell brothers, is briefly incorporated into Keith and Veronica's story, adding history and deepening the reader's connection to the Hartwell family.

Well-known even beyond their home state of Massachusettes, the Hartwell family represents old money, power, and influence, but the privilege that accompanies it is taught to be valued as a gift, not a right. The Hartwell Foundation that Matthias Sr. once ran with his father before handing over the reigns to another generation is considered the family's heritage; giving back to the community is something the entire family is committed to.

Keith Hartwell, fashion photographer, is in high demand. Although he could easily have a career in front of the camera, he loves what he does and it shows in his work. Two years ago he got a big contract in Milan and his career has since skyrocketed. With a big heart, he is one of the most laid back photographers in the industry and the models adore him. He casually floats from one woman to another, never breaking hearts nor exposing his own.

Veronica Chesire, twenty-five, teaches pre-algebra at a magnet school. A tall woman, her beauty and full curves give her a retro Hollywood look. She is funny, smart, and definitely not a pushover. Her last date was over a year ago; he had made the mistake of getting too handsy. The oldest of seven abandoned and adopted children, her complicated family situation impacts her deeply. Gratitude, guilt, duty, and responsibility keep her living at home with her parents and prevent her from allowing herself to experience happiness.

Veronica takes a catering job during the summer to help pay for her siblings' expenses. While working at an event for the Hartwell Foundation, she feels her heart flutter uncharacteristically at the sight of a certain man that she soon recognizes as a Hartwell brother.

While beautiful women offer themselves to Keith routinely, Veronica's eyes call to him from across the room like no other. But when it comes to love, he doesn't recognize it because he hasn't experienced it before. He bottles up his feelings and behaves horribly in spite of his otherwise big heart. In his confusion, he acts out by rejecting the notion rather than admitting to himself how he feels. It becomes difficult to like Keith. But for the love he has for his family and the guilt that temporarily consumes him, it would be impossible to forgive him.

Keith and Veronica's is a refreshingly different kind of love story. Neither acts upon their feelings, which causes unnecessary confusion and complications. The story shows how guilt can trigger unexpected and uncharacteristic reactions, and as awful as someone behaves, foregiveness is possible if there is love. It is nice to see that although they come from different backgrounds, both value their family and both feel comfortable enough to confide in and seek advice from their grandparents. The end comes with a HFN, but it can be deduced that more will be discovered about the couple's ever after in the remaining books of the series.

This story is an unexpected and emotional journey. It is nicely written, with a handful of proofing errors. The POV alternates between Keith and Veronica, with the addition of a chapter each from Matthias Sr. and Alice. The plot is nicely developed. The addition of the peek into Matthias Sr. and Alice's love story adds depth. The characters are very well-developed, but Keith's character is slightly lacking. His relationship history is vague. One of his longest didn't seem to be exclusive, and the length is never given. In addition, there aren't many clues as to his age. He inherited money a few years ago and his career took off two years ago. I place him anywhere from twenty-five to thirty-five, but roughly thirty is my best guess. Hopefully a future installment will clarify his age. I rate this book four stars.

You love it, you hate it, you fall in love all over again.

Keith is book one in M.S. Parker's Hartwell Brothers series. In this book we hear about the brothers but really only get to know two of them. Matt and Keith. I'll admit, at times this is like reading two stories.

We have Veronica who is a school teacher. In her Summer's off she works for a catering company. This year there's an issue with her and Nicolette who is Matt's date. Nicolette feels jealous because people are noticing Veronica so she lashes out and eventually costs her the job. Keith rushes after Veronica and offers her a job. Even though he's very attracted to her he devises a plan to set her up with his brother Matt to get him away from Nicolette. Too bad it makes him miserable when they hit it off.

Veronica starts seeing Matt but even though it's nice there's no fireworks. She gives it a good try though knowing it makes sense even if she can't stop thinking about Keith. Needless to say, things do not go smoothly! The results are rather explosive and even though it ends happy the story isn't anywhere near done. I'm sure we'll see more of them in Matt's story.

If you are a regular reader of M.S. Parker's work this one is a slow burn. Aside from a couple dreams there is nothing racy until you're more than 60% done. There's was none of the riskier stuff I'm used to seeing in other books like her Club Prive series. I'm not sure if any of the other stories of the Hartwell's will feature the sub/dom genre but this book stayed clear of it all. Sometimes it's nice to see authors step outside their usual box.

You can’t make someone love another if you’re in love with them yourself

Great start to what I’m hoping is going to be another awesome series by this author.

Sometimes, you think you’re helping when actually you are only making things worse. That is so true of Keith Hartwell’s best intended plan for his oldest brother Matthias.

In an attempt to save his brother, Matt from the most disastrous marriage possible, he inadvertently messes things up for himself. Sure, he manages to pull his brother away from the beastly Nikoletta and her evil, power hungry clutches - but achieving his goal means sacrificing the affection he feels for the vision of perfection he has come to love… Veronica Cheshire.

Desperate to save his brother from certain misery, he knows his brother deserves better than Nikoletta, the She-Demon. So better is what he pushes Matt’s way.

The problem is… he has strong feelings for Veronica, although he refuses to admit it. Instead he tortures himself by introducing Matt and Veronica, painfully watching them grow closer and closer. Whilst he’s happy for Matt, and loves that he can finally see him smile… the anguish and jealousy he feels whenever he sees Veronica is palpable. Of course he does the only thing a jealous man in his position can - he treats her badly and potentially damages their friendship. Better that, than cause a rift in his family, right?

Unbeknownst to Keith, he is not alone in his wanting. And all the time that Keith is pushing Matt and Veronica together, she is struggling with her own feelings for Keith. Eventually, when things start getting intimate between Matt and Veronica she realises that this isn’t what she wants.

Cue a story full of fractured relationships, misunderstandings and huge misgivings that threaten to ruin everything for seemingly everybody.

There are moments in this book where you just want to scream at the main characters and tell them to just be honest with each other about how they feel, instead of pussyfooting around the issues. Keith, as much as I absolutely adore him, he makes massive mistakes in how he deals with discovering Veronica’s little secret. However, I also think that Veronica doesn’t help the situation. If she had gone about things differently and confronted Keith about her feelings for him in a different way, things might not have had to go quite so terribly wrong.

This being said, I do really love them as a couple - and I am sincerely hoping that as the other Hartwell Brothers stories develop, we might see more of them.

What this story lacks is a good epilogue. I do like the steps back in time, but the one at the end of this book felt a little disappointing because I wanted more Keith and Veronica.

Anyway… good start to the series. Really hoping we get to keep hearing about their relationship throughout the rest of the series, as I know they aren’t done yet.

Will he be to late to realize his feelings

Keith, book one in the new The Hartwell Brothers series, is the second book I have read by M. S. Parker. As I had not liked the first book I read by her but I liked her writing style I was really hoping to like this book. Plus the book description looked like it could be super fun and interesting. The story of Keith and Veronica definitely had more than a little drama and an interesting story-line. The book sets up the new series by introducing the Hartwell brothers, an old, rich and influential family in Massachusetts. Keith is the oldest of the brothers and is a successful fashion photographer. Veronica is a young teacher who has a complicated family situation as she still lives at home with a number of adopted siblings that she helps care for.
Keith and Veronica meet when she during the summer break she takes a job as a server for a catering company which works at an event his family's foundation is hosting. He sees her and is immediately drawn to her but does not know what his feelings really are. Instead of pursuing her himself he sets her up with his older brother Matt. Matt has decided to marry the young and spoiled daughter of a rich family as in a plan to save the family charity and legacy. So in a bid to try and turn Matt's head away from the unsuitable match Keith hatches another match.
But will Keith allow Veronica to actually be Matt's or will he quickly realize what the feelings are that he is having? What will Veronica decide?

I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

This is book one and the start of the Hartwell Brothers Series. This is Keith’s story. I really enjoyed this book and couldn’t put it down once I started reading. This book was a great start to a new series and can’t wait for the next story series, Matt. It was definitely having the whole roller coaster of emotions going on. I enjoyed every page even when I was mad or sad. I have a real love/hate relationship with Keith. There are times I really want to smack the living daylights out of him and for a while there I was fully prepared to hate him. This book has a somewhat unfinished feel to it but I’m hoping we seem more of them in the next books in the series. The unfinished feel probably has more to do with the lack of an epilogue which is something I'm use to seeing even in a series book.

Keith is a photographer and from one of Boston’s old money families. Veronica is a teacher at one of the charter schools. Keith has this bright idea to find someone for his brother to get him to give up the idea of marrying this horrid woman because her father promised to help bailout the trouble their charitable foundation is going through. Keith meets Veronica and they have an instant attraction, but Keith pushes it aside and pushes her toward his brother. Keith ends up hiring Veronica because she gets fired from her side job catering. Keith does something horrible to Veronica. Can she forgive him and give their relationship a chance or is she done with him for good?

A wonderful love novel full of emotion. Keith and Veronica dance around each other. It also works against them that Keith initially tries to link her to his brother. Keith does not know that Veronica is still a virgin when he has sex with her for the first time. Then he also thinks that she is still with his brother, not knowing that she has just broken that relationship, and is sending her away after the deed. Veronica feels like old dirt has been put aside and Keith has to go through the dust to regain her trust and love.

A well-designed story. I felt the uncertainties ring through the words and felt the chemistry that was present between them. At the start of the story also many comic moments that made the story a bit lighter where later on it is mainly accompanied by intense emotions of sadness, guilt and regret. Highly recommended this book. This promises something for the series 'The Hartwell brothers'

This is the first book in The Hartwell Brothers series. This book is Keith's story and his chance at finding a HEA. Family comes first and saving the family charity is what needs to be done. The solution for Keith's older brother Matt is to marry a rich, socialite Nicolette. Keith decides to play cupid and tries to set Matt up with Veronia. But what happens when he shoots the arrow and the arrow that is meant for his brother shoots him in the ass instead? This is an entertaining read on how what once was the best plan, how it goes wrong but does it right itself in the end. A good start to a new series, I am interested in reading the next book to see where these brothers go and what else they can get themselves into. Enjoy!

Will Keith realize that Sondra is the one in time
The story starts with some foreshadowing of the one that got away from Keith’s brother, Matt and flips to present day with Keith who is an acclaimed photographer, finishing up a photo shoot. Back home, Keith tries to talk Matt out of marrying Nikolette to get an influx of cash to save the foundation. Veronica finishes her last day of classes and looks forward to working for the same catering company during the summer. When Keith and Sondra meet at the benefit where Sondra is working, the attraction is heart shattering for them both. Yet Keith pushes Sondra in his brother’s direction to make Matt realize how good it can be with the right woman. Will Keith realize what Sondra means to him before it is too late? You definitely want to give some Gibb head slaps to knock some sense into Matt over Nikolette and Keith over Sondra.

Excellent

This book centres on Keith and Veronica, two polar opposites that meet through a charity function. Keith is a guest and Veronica, a schoolteacher, is working for the catering company as a summer job. Keith’s older brother Matt has made a deal with the devil as far as Keith is concerned. He has agreed to marry the obnoxious and toxic daughter of an investor, to help their families foundation out of financial trouble. When Keith first encounters Veronica, he realises that she’s the type of woman his brother should be with and decides to play Cupid. The only problem with his plan is that Cupid’s arrow has already hit him, hard. He cannot take his mind off Veronica. This is a well written and engaging story with believable characters. An excellent start to the series.

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this story about Keith and Veronica. He's had a privileged life and works as a sought after photographer. She's a school teacher who is working at a catering company for the summer. When she unfortunately runs into Nikolette the ice princess, who Matt is dating much to his brother's disgust. Things get crazy when after their second run in leaves Veronica getting yelled at and Nikolette demanding she be fired. Keith offers her a job. Things as tense, there is chemistry but both are afraid to admit it. So when Keith tries to set Matt up with Veronica in an attempt to get him away from Nikolette. But he's becoming miserable. But when their feelings explode into craziness, all heck breaks lose.

This book will take you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. Keith is a character that you will hate/love relationship with. He will do anything for his family and when the family business is suffering his brother decides to marry the daughter of someone who can help the business but she is all wrong for him. Keith decides to set his brother up with Veronica all along having a real connection with her. Keith fights this all the way and when he does something terrible will Veronica be able to forgive him and succumb to the connection that they share? You will not put this down till you find out. Look forward to reading more from this series.

To be in a position were you want, but you can't. Were you need but you shouldn't, is just plain cruel. I kept turning the pages wondering when would Keith give in? What would happened? How it would be handled? And let me tell you... even when Veronica did things right and even when she was strong and honest, it was a chaotic explosion. In a very delicious way. But also then, in an OMG what just happened you need to fix this kind of way LOL. So, with characters full of potential that engage you to the point of wanting to give them advise, a story with people you hate and others you adore. Passionate, raw and sensitive. And a preview of what's to come, this book is definitely the best start for these siblings.

Boy did I want to hit Keith. He was a real piece of work. Trying to do the right thing by his brother and not owning up to his true feelings. Veronica had her own problems but she was a good person and had a loving family. She knew who she wanted but it took time for her to really get in touch with her true emotions. This was a really good start to what I think is going to be a really emotional series. I was a bit perplexed at the start with it being 1950 and about Matthias but it became clearer as I continued reading. Excellent characters which drew you into their story. Looking forward to the next book with eagerness. Recommended.

Keith is the first book in M.S. Parker’s The Hartwell Brother’s Series. The book focuses on Keith Hartwell, a fashion photographer and son of a powerful old money family, and Veronica Cheshire, an innocent school teacher Keith tries to set up with his older brother to prevent his marriage to a spoiled socialite. Unfortunately, Keith finds himself drawn to Veronica even while pushing her toward his brother. Their journey to love is a complicated story. M.S. Parker has authored a novel with an interesting plot, intriguing characters, and an emotional storyline full of ups and downs. I recommend this well written book.

4.5 Stars! There is Veronica who is a strong, independent woman who can take care of herself and is very protective of her family. Then there is Keith, the ultra wealthy, alpha male photographer who also has a protective streak. Keith has an instant attraction to Veronica that he doesn't understand. She is under his skin but he decides to set his brother up with him. What happens next is rather surprising. Will he get Ronni in the end or will it all blow up in his face? Good character development and well written. Looking forward to seeing how the other books in the series go.

This is the first book of the Hartwell world, a family from old money and lots of history! Keith and Matt are the first of the brothers we meet. Keith “sets up” his brother Matt with a lovely woman Keith met first...please note there is a ton of back story here that I won’t go into! You can imagine what takes place! I can’t wait for the rest of the books! I had a deep, dark feeling that there was going to be a huge plot twist but that never came... I know there are more books to come, so maybe what I was feeling hasn’t been written yet! Just read this, you’ll love it!

This was such an awesome start to a new series that I thoroughly enjoyed! The characters, plot and word usage were amazing and pulled me in form the start making me feel like I was there watching the story unfold right in front of me. It is such a sweet love story of Keith and Veronica. They have an awesome chemistry and it blew up when Keith was fixing her up with his brother Matt but Keith fell in love with her him self. It's a hot and steamy story very well written and makes me want to read more in this series!

Keith is a fashion photographer who comes from an old-money family.
Veronica is a teacher but, in the summer, she needs another job to pay for her loans.
I have dual feelings about Keith: at the beginning of the book I loved him. He would do anything to protect his brother against a marriage that will make him miserable for the rest of his life. However, later, he behaves like a complete idiot not been able to see what is right in front of him.
The book is well written and the characters well-developed in general. A bit slow at the beginning but not too much.
This is the first book I read by M. S. Parker, but it won’t be the last.

M.S. Parker is a well written author. She is a good story teller and does a good job of developing her characters. Both characters in this novel had depth and were people you could identify with. They were believable, both having their faults and their qualities. There was never a time during this novel that I found myself getting bored or wanting it to move on...it kept pace with plenty of angst, lust and desire but also had a good story to support all the characters. It was well done giving you plenty of sex but also good solid characters that weren't perfect but definitely likable, even when they were anything but likable.

Veronica and Keith

Well, what do we have here? Keith - the love ‘em and leave ‘em type, grade A dirty talker and panty melter wants to help his brother realize he can’t go through with an arranged marriage by introducing him to the woman the us perfect for him. Not for his brother, for himself.

Veronica - chaste, refreshingly honest, and pin up girl gorgeous finds herself in quite a predicament not knowing the extent of everyone’s feelings including her own.

You will enjoy reading how these two get together - and it isn’t by way of butterflies and unicorns. I look forward to the rest of the series.

This is the story of Keith & Veronica, with Keith's brother as a side character.  It is the first book in The Hartwell Brothers Series.  It is an enticing and enthralling read.  Attraction and obsession is off the charts between Keith & Veronica.  Keith is a famous photographer.  Veronica is a school teacher who also works during the summer as a caterer to supplement her income.  This book has a great story line, not what you would expect.  Kudos to M.S. Parker for writing such a great book.  I look forward to the next book in this series.

This was a great way to kick off a new series by this author. I loved Keith and Veronica together. I was sucked in from the start and couldn’t put it down. So many emotions with their story, the path to love is never an easy road. The attraction between these two is crazy hot, but Keith sends Veronica his brothers way and that’s a horrible mistake when he realized that he wants her for himself. Will Keith be able to get the girl in the end? I guess you will need to read this to find out. I found this book on Booksprout.

Very good moving romance, very well written and whose characters are exciting. I loved hating hateful characters :)
To prevent his brother from marrying a despicable heiress who allegedly supported their foundation, Keith decides to present him Veronica whom he met a few days before. Keith works with her, but she understands what he wants to do and she agrees to try to date his brother Matthias. However, Veronica feels that she is closer to Keith and he is in the most complete denial, to the point of hurting each other.
The story is full of twists.
