Story 1: 3 stars: Superman stops a submarine. Lois gets arrested when she goes to investigate the area where the sub goes down. Clark manages to talk Lois' freedom out with the guards. He then overhears several men setting up an underground explosion above a munition plant. Superman of course stops them. The leader gets away. The leader goes to a Senators office where he is recruiting more insurgents. Superman super speeds in and starts a dictaphone machine to record the illegal activity. He then catches the Senator coming back in and lets him know what is office is being used for. When the Senator confronts the group.they attack. Superman whacks everyone around until they are arrested.

Story 2: 3 stars: Lois and Clark are at a trial for a gangster. The judge postpones until the next day. Clark as Superman spies the judge about to kill himself. He stops the judge and finds out the gangster's crew has kidnapped his daughter and he is so distraught he thought suicide was the only way out. Superman listens to an incoming call from the kidnappers. He then tracks them down via the phone lines. He follows them to their hideout where he rescues the judges daughter. The gangster gets tipped off by one of his goons that managed to get out of Superman's makeshift cuffs. The gangster goes to the judges house while Lois is visiting for an interview. Superman delivers the judges daughter and stops a bullet killing the gangster. Clark shows up after Superman leaves and is told by Lois she has already called in the story.

Story 3: 3 stars: Lois and Clark investigate a strange disturbance in a swamp. Also they look into sabotage of a plant making a formula to make a 1 pound substance that is equivalent to 5 million pounds of coal. The bad guys capture Lois and try to off Clark. When they are not looking he becomes Superman and escapes and rescues Lois. He then makes it back to the Planet and gets the byline over Lois.

Story 4: 3 stars: Lois and Clark witness a suicide. Clark using his powers can tell the man was already dead before hitting the ground. While sleuthing the death they discover a murder for hire ring that uses a jewelry store as a front. Of course Lois gets right in the middle of it and Superman saves her once again. Clark gets the scoop over Lois.

These stories are fun for passing time. 12 to 15 pages all wrapped up in a nice bow at the end stories. Topics are usually corruption, murder or trying to take down the government or munitions plants. Stories of crazy aliens coming to battle Superman seem to be later down the road.
