At Christmas, sometimes even impossible wishes come true…

One word changed Wes Lockhart’s life forever. Cancer. Fighting for his life completely flipped his priorities, making him realize he wanted—no, needed—to use his billions to help others find the kind of second chance he’d been given. The first person he intended to help? The beautiful, kind, and dedicated oncologist who got him through his treatments and ushered him into remission. And what better time than the holidays to become her not-so-secret Santa?

Dr. Paige Regis has spent her entire career helping others, often at the expense of her personal life. She’d love to start a family of her own—but with her current patients and her plans to open a brand-new cancer center, it seems like an impossible dream. It’s not until she reconnects with the charming Wes that she realizes he might just be the man to make all her Christmas wishes come true.

Can Wes and Paige open their hearts to the magic of the season—and each other—to get a shot at their very own Christmas miracle? Or will past hurts and doubts end their happily ever after before it even begins?

The Wish Maker (The Billionaires of Silicon Forest, #2) by: Melissa McClone

Every now and then we all need a helping hand. With The Wish Maker, McClone spreads a hint of holiday cheer while delivering some sage advice. Wes and Paige were brought together by need and gave each other the courage to hope. Against the odds, love found a miracle. McClone inspires hearts with an emotionally charged hymn of hope.

Wes had been thought of as ruthless, heartless and much worse before he found he had Lymphoma. The fight for his life was difficult and now that he is in remission he doesn't have that same drive. If he dies he wants to be remembered in a far different light.

Henry his ever interfering friend pushes him to do something a bit different this Christmas season. Instead of just signing checks, go see where the money goes.

Paige was his oncologist, and he credits her with saving his life even though it was a whole team of physicians. She's no longer his physician and he meets up with her in an unusual way. Playing Santa at the children's ward at the hospital.

Paige has another problem though, apparently the fund-raising for the new Cancer wing her pet project, has fallen short by twenty five million dollars. At Henry's invitation she attends the children's party, finding Santa familiar but can't seem to place him. He gets her to tell him what she wants for Christmas.

Surprised at seeing him there, and even more so when he tells her his foundation would cover the amount she needs, they go to a nearby coffee shop to discuss the logistics of the donation.

What should have been a relatively short conversation becomes a lot more.

The slow build up to a relationship is both confusing and scary to Wes, he still has much to deal with, including the lies he didn't correct regarding his ex.

Paige on the other hand has her own issues, always putting off things because of work.

The banter between the 'Billionaires of Silicon Forest' was as fun and snarky. Paige fits right in with this crew even though she fights the attraction to Wes. She wants more than just a fling and won't date unless it can lead somewhere more than just the bedroom.

A thoroughly enjoyable Christmas read complete with small town events to warm your heart as Paige and Wes turn up the heat.

I can't wait for the next book in this series!

Third-person POV

Paige was a member of Wes's oncology team for two years ago but now, in remission, he's given a second lease on life and plans to right some of the wrongs he's done before he fell ill. He works behind the scenes to provide less privileged individuals or organizations the chance that they need to succeed. It's not until a long-time friend, Henry, asks him for a favor that he realizes he's been approaching the "righting wrongs" thing all wrong!
Paige never imagines that telling the Santa at the children's' hospital Christmas party all her wishes that they'd actually come true... after all twenty-five million for the cancer center would require a miracle. As for the "later, maybe next year" stuff? A pipe dream with the hours she works, right?
But Christmas is the time of magic and miracles.

Sweet story with enjoyable characters. Some readers may recognize from other books and/or series' but it is not necessary to have read them all although I would suggest reading THE WIFE FINDER just to acquaint yourself with the group of friends and their "Last Single Man Standing" bet. Some stolen kisses, a bit of mild drama, and a solid ending.

The Wish Maker is book 2 in the The Billionaires of Silicon Forest; after reading The Wife Finder I was hooked, leaving me hanging for Wes’s story.

Wes had been to hell and back, the big C; Cancer. Now in remission everything made him worry so really had he left hell at all? When his friend pushing him to get out and be part of the Christmas spirit he reluctantly does and who would have thought that a woman that saw him at his weakest would make him stronger.

Wes and Paige have off the chart’s chemistry, Wes might be in denial about his feelings for Paige but she isn’t and she is willing to fight for them even if she has to call in the big guns to set him on the right path.

I personally loved this story; Made me feel like wishes and dreams come true. Bring on book 3; Dash won’t know what’s hit him!

I enjoyed The Wish Maker. It is written with a good flow to the story and is easy to read. I was engrossed the entire story. It has humor, dedication, friendship, Christmas magic, and a sweet romance. I was rooting for the main couple and liked how the author paced their relationship, showed their faults, and how they worked through them. One thing that really stood out for me was the couple’s first kiss. I’ve read a lot of romance books, so a lot of first kisses, but this one was written really well and makes an impression. It’s the kiss that really opened their yes to one another. I really liked the group of billionaire friends; loved their camaraderie. I have not read book 1 of the series, but am going to go grab that one too.

Take every Christmas movie you have ever watched, add in some magic and ramp it up times ten and you have the beauty that is The Wish Maker! This book will have your heart ready to burst from joy and leaving you floating on a snowing cloud of happiness. I swear I could practically feel Christmas magic floating in the air while I was reading Wes and Paige’s story.
Obviously these two are sugary sweet, but despite the chemistry that is between them they have a nice slow burn happening. You could literally feel how much they were meant to be as they fought so hard at being “just friends”. There’s no fighting the kind of love these two have though, especially with Christmas magic and mistletoe floating around.

The Wish Maker is a clean, sizzling Christmas romance. Trust me, some of those kisses are swoon worthy. Both main characters are likable and well-developed, but have areas in their lives that need to change. This author tells a great story as she gets the characters where they need to be. I loved the banter and close friendship between Wes and his billionaire buddies. I enjoy Melissa McClone's smooth, flowing writing style. I recommend this book and am looking forward to reading the next one in the series. I received a complimentary copy. I chose to write a review and share my opinion of this fantastic romance.

A sweet romance with a little magic of the Christmas Holiday Season. Wes a billionaire, is in remission from cancer and sees life in a renewed way. Paige is the oncologist that took care of him and has never found Mr Right, she is always putting her career first. Paige's dream of opening a new cancer wing but is short funds, so maybe Wes can answer some of her dreams with a little Christmas magic.

A sweet romance with so many Christmas traditions that it will surely get you in the mood for the holidays. Love the friendship of the guys, great banter. This is the second book in the series but can be read as a stand alone.

The Wish Maker is another awesome book. Reading about Wes who had cancer and is now in remission and Paige, his cancer doctor, filled your heart with love and admiration. Wes loved helping others financially. He saw Paige at a Christmas party and their Christmas magic began to happen. Paige's dream was to open a cancer center. Was this just a daydream or could it really happen. Do you think Wes can have an influence on this becoming a reality. Sometimes you just have to listen to your heart. I highly recommend this book.

This is my first time reading this author but I really loved the story and all the characters so I will go and read some more of her stories!
This story is so Christmassy and so sweet!
Paige and Wes met before, as doc and patient, but now they can see each other in a new light..
I love the group of friends, I love the charming little town and I love all the Christmassy stuff..I love Christmas time ;)
The characters are all great and there isn't much drama, which I love.
I feel like now I am invested in all the characters and want to know each of their stories..especially Henry!

I truly enjoyed reading the touching
& emotional romance.
Wes & Paige, met when she was his
Doctor. When they saw each other
again, at a party, & after hearing her Christmas wish, Wes wanted to make
it come true. Since that night,
they've spent time together, & their attraction is undeniable.
With the bet the Billionaires of Silicon
Forest have made, Wes, is one of last
two friends who have not yet married. Marriage is not what Wes is looking for.
And Paige wants her happily ever after.
But Christmas is the time for miracles.
🎄 I loved everything about this

Wonderful!! I have loved every book in this series but I think Wes and Paige’s story is my favorite. This is a story of hope and new beginnings! Wes’ past history and struggles broke my heart and Paige was exactly what he needed. This is a sweet, romantic and beautifully told romance that lifted my heart. It was just what I needed to get in the Christmas spirit.

Cute. Didn’t grab me.

What stood out was the quick resolution of the angry retaliation of Wes’ 2 friends. Causing someone to lose a job and getting that person evicted is not a small offense.

The Wish Maker is the second story in The Billionaires of Silicon Forest series by Melissa McClone, and I’m having such an amazing time with these believable, likable, realistic characters. Sure the guys are billionaires but they are such a crew of brothers of the heart that their wealth is secondary to their personalities – most of the time.

Wes has survived cancer, he fought a hard battle yet now he’s in remission with a second chance at life – to say he’s a changed man in some ways is very true. He’s also a man with deep regrets who is living in the past allowing those mistakes to take over his future. Paige is a dedicated doctor with a vision to help even more cancer patients with the new cancer center. She was also one of Wes’s doctors when he was fighting the lymphoma, so she’s seen him at his most vulnerable and rejoiced when he went into remission. Now thanks to a bit of Christmas magic, some last-minute desperate fundraising needs and maybe the jolly old elf himself, Paige and Wes are about to discover who they truly are outside of the hospital where they once spent so much time together. Friends only because Wes won’t allow for anything more. Paige has dreams of that perfect family for her own future and is hesitant to be with Wes – but as friends only, helping with the cancer center relationship works for them both – until they each want more and they each react differently to that knowledge.

I fell in love with this couple. Their tender sides, the hesitancy to even hope for more, the cautious believing that happiness had finally found them – and then I wanted to reach into the book and grab Wes by the collar before he did something totally stupid – but I missed and he did it anyway! This one is emotional on several levels with a close group of friends who aren’t afraid to tell you how it is to your face and who also have your back no matter what. I believed in them all, they came to life – and that is what I want a good story to do for me, transport me into another world that I can completely enjoy. I had such a good time with The Wish Maker and would not hesitate to recommend it to any Romance reader who loves believable characters, a strong secondary character cast, realistic situations, and love overcoming stupid mistakes. I can’t wait for the next story in this series.

I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

Wes and Paige’s love story in The Wish Maker is a heartwarming, sweet romance by Melissa McClone, book two in The Billionaires of Silicon Forest series. After recovering and in remission from cancer, Wes Lockhart changed his priorities and decided he needed to use his billions to help others find a second chance, like he’d been given. While playing Santa for the children’s hospital, Wes learns that oncologist Dr. Paige Regis needed some additional money for the new cancer center and Wes decided that she would be the first recipient of this monetary gift. Paige has spent her entire career helping others which gave her little time to have a personal life. She would love to have a family; husband, kids, dog, and white picket fence. With the demands of her job and plan to open a brand-new cancer center she doubts her dreams will ever come soon. As Christmas approaches, along with all the holiday parties and fundraisers, Wes invites Paige to accompany him; allowing her to wonder if maybe Wes could make her other wish come true. Wes and Paige need to open their hearts to the magic of the season and the possibility of getting their Christmas miracle.

Ms. McClone wrote a wonderfully sweet and moving story that is not to be missed. This story contains fun dialogue, the magic of love, and endearing characters giving Wes and Paige a chance at love, happiness, and a future neither expected thanks to Christmas magic. I highly recommend The Wish Maker to other readers and look forward to the next book in this series.

MY TAKE
Fun book with engaging characters. I love the friends and their banter back and forth. And the romance between Wes and Paige who'd known each other in such a very different capacity was fun. Having her go from being his life-saving oncologist to romantic interest was fun. It was fortunate that it occurred after Wes was no longer her patient.

I've already downloaded the first book in the series.

OMG Melissa has done it again. I am so in love with Wes and Paiges story. As a cancer survivor myself I understand where he comes from.

He is rich, good looking and a survivor. He broke up with his girlfriend when he had cancer although he let all of his friends think that she broke up with him. Henry comes to his office and wants him to play Santa for the children at the hospital. Wes doesn’t want too. After thinking it over he decides to do it.

Paige who is an oncologist has been asked to ask Henry for more money for the cancer wing. While waiting to talk to him she is convinced to give Santa her secret wish for Christmas. She doesn’t recognize Wes while he is in the Santa suit. She tells him her wish for the cancer wing and her most private wish for herself.

Wes later tells her that he will donate the money and then invites her to meet his friends at a fundraiser to enlist their help as well. They find themselves attracted to each other.

Can the get past what is holding themselves back from love? Will they fall in love with each other? You will have to read to find out!

I really liked and admired Wes and Paige, and their story held my interest. Full of Christmas detail and charm and spirit, this story is a great, clean and sweet holiday read. I loved the intelligent conversation and wit and warmth whenever the couple was together or when they were with Wes’s band of friends. The friends, especially Henry and Dash, were a great group of secondary characters with a running storyline that makes the series extra interesting. I definitely look forward to Wes’s story when it comes out soon.

Since I read this story right after reading the first book in the series, I did notice the similarities that seemed repetitive and formulaic when the author dealt with the conflict and its resolution in such a similar fashion to how it was handled in book one. This is just my second book by this author, so I will have to wait and see if this is a trend. Just as in the first book, I would have liked to have seen more time with Wes and Paige once they resolved their problems instead of jumping to Wes as the star of the epilogue, previewing his upcoming book.

Wes changed his life after he was diagnosed with cancer and has become more sympathetic and philanthropic, but he still worries now that he’s in remission about the cancer coming back and that causes him to guard his heart. Paige realizes that working as an oncologist life is passing her by and her dreams of a home with a husband and family are not being realized. Can someone who dreams of happily ever after like in the Hallmark movies she watches find it with a man who allows the possibility of dying to keep him from forming a commitment? Matchmaker Henry plays his part in Wes and Paige’s relationship. I can wait to see who he eventually falls for. It was great to catch up on the characters from the Hood Hamlet stories again. I would love to visit that fictional place over the holidays. It was sad reading about the patients suck in the hospital especially the ones who weren’t visited by their families. But how wonderful to have Santa visit and listen to this Christmas wishes.

Beautifully written romance is something I’ve come to expect from Melissa McClone, but The Wish Maker was extra enchanting to me. I’m not sure if it was the Christmas setting, or just the sweet chemistry between Wes and Paige, but this story lightened my heart during a season that gets harder for me to celebrate each year.
Wes has been given the gift of a second chance at life, which he shares with others, while still keeping himself apart. Paige gives her all to her patients and little to herself, making her a bit lonely, too. Is it any wonder that they gravitate towards each other, learning much more than their previous doctor/patient allowed.
Wes’s friends, familiar to longtime McClone readers, provide fun and support to both Wes and Paige in this lovely, drama free read. Don’t worry if you haven’t read their stories...this a completely stand-alone book, plus you’ll have more wonderful stories to catch up on!

This is book two in a series. These are stand alones but there are reoccurring characters of billionaire friends.
Focus on this book is Wes. He has recently beaten cancer but has realized his second chance at life. Yet he also has fears of truly living.
When forced back out to society to play Santa at the hospital he is reunited with his oncologist Dr. Paige. She tells Santa of her 25 million dollar wish for her cancer center and also a wish for the family with the pets and white picket fence.
These two dance between friends and more. Wes doesn’t want a forever but Paige does. When these two realize they are not living in the present will they have a chance for the HEA they deserve.
Great characters. Loved Wes and his friends. Well written story. Such real and likable characters and storyline. Great dual POV.

A perfect read for the season with endearing characters and so beautifully written I felt like I was right in the middle of all that was happening. I loved the attraction and undeniable chemistry between Wes Lockhart, a Portland billionaire and his oncologist, Dr. Paige Regis. This is definitely a book that I will read over and over again and one I can share with all my family and friends. This is Wes’s story, and it is another good one. Wes is in remission after undergoing cancer treatment, but he really isn’t “living”. He’s trapped with regret from his past and desperately trying to be a better person but doesn’t feel that he deserves to be happy. Paige was his oncologist but Wes is definitely looking at her as more than just his doctor as her love of the Christmas season rubs off on him. Both deserve to be happy but with one trapped in the past and the other caught up in what the future could/should be you need to read on to see if they can meet in the middle and live for the present.

What a wonderful, heartwarming, magical Christmas read. I fell in love with The Billionaires of Silicon Forest in the first book. In this book I fell even deeper in love. The characters are so well written and the story line is filled with emotion, romance, forgiving, giving and so much more. The chemistry between the two main characters is hot but it is also sweet at the same time. Pick up this book now because honestly you do not want to miss a minute of reading this book. It will keep you turning page after page. I am so looking forward to the third book in this series.

I really am enjoying this series. Wes was introduced in a previous book but we only got a glimpse of him. Now we get his story. Wes is an interesting character. He's in remission and has a new outlook on life. It's a great reminder to alll of us that life is short and to not put off the things we want in life. Paige is one of the doctors that helped Wes. The meet again at a Christmas party and Wes is able to make one of Paige's wishes come true right away. Little does he know that he will make all of her wishes come true. The story is a sweet story that makes you feel good. I'm really looking forward to the next story in this series.

This was a great, romantic, Christmas story, just like a Hallmark movie. Wes and Paige were perfect for each other even though Wes did not think he was good enough for her because of his past before he had cancer. If you like Christmas stories, sleigh rides, wishes on stars, romance and love you will enjoy this book in this great series by Melissa McClone. It was such fun to revisit the town of Hood Hamlet and to be treated to the Christmas Magic event. It sounded like a lot of fun and was a perfect date or non date. I also enjoyed being with the characters from past books in this series. I received and advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

A Wish is A Gift Your Heart Makes

I took a chance on this amazing author and the fist book in this series. I LOVED BOTH!
Melissa McClone writes flawlessly and I didn’t have to stumble over bad wording or horrible editing. The premise of The Wish Maker series gives such a lighthearted perspective that I liked. At first, I was concerned that it would be about money and the ever redundant gold digger. Happy to say it wasn’t in this book. Looking forward to the next in the series!
