Talk about boring.I almost fell asleep on this one. I hate reading about weak women. This one I just wanted to shake her. Frankly I don't know if I'm going to read the next book in the series. Although her friend seems like a real kickass kind of gal. I get you want to write sweet romances but I got a cavity on this one.

Once again, I'm in the minority when it comes to reviewing a book.

Maybe I didn't give this book enough of a chance? Probably but by the 3rd chapter, I knew this wasn't the book for me. There are too many books out there to slog through a book that has you gritting your teeth and annoyed.

The concept of the book is, frankly, ridiculous. A guy, Wade, has to marry within three months and stay married for three months in order to keep his inheritance. This guy can't find any woman to marry him.....right. If he's as rich as this book claims, then I'm sure somebody out there would have jumped at the chance. He has three days left to find a wife. This author really likes the number three.

Enter Allie. A girl desperate for money. So desperate that she jumps at the chance to marry a complete stranger that could very well be a psycho or sociopath. Why does she need the money? Because her parents were in an accident, her dad died. Her mother is in a coma and needs to be moved to a long term care facility. She can't afford a nice one. Um..... this reason is so thin that you can practically see through it!

Allie is 24 but looks and acts 14.

Wade is 29 but looks and acts 19.

SIGH.

By the third chapter, the only thing we know about Allie and how she looks is that she's got gigantic cartoon sized blue eyes. Yes, we are told over and over and over about her big blue eyes. We don't know anything else about her. Well she wears her hair in a ponytail but have no idea about any other of physical characteristics. We know even less about Wade.

Then her friend Ginny enters the picture. She has all the personality that Allie lacks. She is blazing hot when she shows up to stop the wedding. I mean literally! Her temper and her looks and Wade notices them both. The author describes Ginny. I started to think that this book was actually about Ginny and Wade! WHY WOULD the author do this? Ginny and Wade had more chemistry than bland oatmeal Allie.

I deleted the book from my Kindle Unlimited at that point.

I have no interest in reading a book where the author can't be bothered to describe the main characters but paints the side kick in loving broad strokes. WTH?

Also, the dialogue and pace was stilted. It plodded along. I practically felt the tap tap tap of the words coming out in a halting manner. The word granddaddy was used so much that by the end of the first chapter, I was gritting my teeth in annoyance. A grown man just would not stop with this word! This did not read like a professional author had written it. It was amateurish and painful.

I may give this author another try because there was potential in the writing in this book. I just don't have the patience or desire to wade (haha) through chapters to find it.

I feel bad leaving a 1-star rating. However, according to the Good Reads rating system that means I don't like the book. Since I didn't like it enough to finish it? Anyways, others love it so give it a try. This is just my opinion.

DNF - 39%

The word “granddaddy” was used over 112 times and quite frankly, it got annoying after the first 5. I guess my biggest issue was the fact that it was mostly said by a grown man. It would have been cute it it was a kid but a grown man, definitely off putting. After that, I really couldn’t pay attention to the story and just gave up. It was a bit predictable.

Her Billionaire Cowboy's Fake Marriage is the first book of the McCoy Billionaire series. This is a fairly predictable story with likable characters. A cowboy's grandfather passes away, requires grandson to marry in order to keep the ranch, he happens upon the perfect lady down on her luck and the rest is history. This is Allie and Wade's story.

Wade McCoy wants to carry on the legacy of his grandfather's ranch, but with the marriage stipulation put on him he is fairly certain he and his brothers are going to lose it all. Now he has to find a woman just crazy enough to be willing to go along with a three-month marriage in order for him to keep the family ranch.

Allie Jordon is very down on her luck. She is dealing with the loss of her business and her father along having to figure out to get the care needed for her injured mother. She is working a waitressing job to make ends meet, but she is desperate for money so she can get her mother the care she needs in order to make it out of her coma. Everything changed after their accident, and she is determined to do whatever she can to save her beloved mother.

Wade walks into her truck stop diner and they instantly are drawn to each other. She feels compelled to find out what is bothering him and ease his angst and he seems to have no problem confiding all of his problems to her. A chance meeting and an agreement that benefits them both starts this story on a whirlwind of feelings.

Allie has a heart of gold, but that heart can be easily broken, and her best friend Ginny thinks she is nuts for going through with this agreement. Wade is a tough cowboy who has been burned by love. His grandfather wants him to find love and a family to share the ranch with. Wade used to believe in love, but just hasn't been able to find a woman worthy of sharing it all with.

This heartwarming story allows us to experience the romance and love that builds between these two unexpecting people. The McCoy brothers are easy to like and Allie and her friend Ginny are the perfect balance for each other. This is a clean romance with a nice overall story. ⭐⭐⭐

My review today is on the Western Romance, Her Billionaire Cowboy's Fake Marriage. This is the first book in the McCoy Billionaire Brothers Series. I have never read any of Hopes books before but I really enjoyed this book. It is well written, humorous, and very entertaining. I enjoyed the fact that even though the cowboy was a billionaire her life wasn't drastically changed.

Wade McCoy and his two brothers are listening to the reading of their grandfather's will. The will stipulates that that Wade as the oldest must marry with in three months and that he will have to stay married for three months to be able to keep the ranch and all the holdings. The two other brothers wouldn't hear their part of the will until Wade completed his obligations. Wade is furious but he tries. With only three days left he is beside him self and stops at a truck stop for coffee. He can't believe he is going to lose all he has worked his whole life for. He sits there for a long time. A waitress keeps coming back to fill his coffee cup. She asks if he's hungry but he can't seem to answer.

Allie Jordan is working in the truck stop all alone, she notices the sad cowboy. She has sworn off of men but this man although gorgeous is different. Maybe because he is so sad. The sadness within her recognizes the same pain in his eyes. She finally orders the man some pancakes and some bacon. She brings them to him and sits to talk with him for a moment. He tells her an unbelievable story of how he must marry in two days or lose everything. The woman will be well paid for being his fake wife for three months. No woman seems interested in entering into a crazy business deal. She tells him of her fathers death and her mother being in a coma and needing money for her care. She will do it. They agree to meet the next day.

A humorous modern journey of a marriage of convenience. Allie has a hard time living a lie especially after their first kiss at the wedding. I know you are going to love it.

"Honey, I'm home!"

This isn't the first book I've read by this author. I enjoyed the first book of this series and I plan on reading the rest of them to find out what Wade's granddad JD was really up to. Why three months and not six or even I year? One would have to work pretty hard in three months to get something to happen.

Besides, how could a temporary marriage produce children?

Allies' parents were in a bad car accident. Her father died and her mother was badly injured. She needs to be transferred to a rehab center now. She is in a coma. Wade suggested getting her transferred someplace close to the ranch so Allie didn't have far to travel.

I like the character Penny and her role in this story, hoping to get Wade and Allie to think about staying together, in time they would fall in love. She offered to give them a wedding reception. They really didn't have an option. Wade and Allie danced all night so they didn't have to talk to their guests, knowing there would be questions about their sudden marriage. As much as they were putting on a show, their chemistry was heating up!

Allie and Wade are now on a journey to make it right - however they decide it will end for them in a couple of months. Penny, like JD, hopes the two of them will be vulnerable with each other and honest.

Wade was attracted to Allie, but that didn't mean he was going to fall in love with her. He didn't want to hurt her. When Wade offers Allie a quick divorce, Allie turns him down. Wade wasn't getting rid of her that easily. He wasn't the only one in love. Happy reading.

Allie and Wade

Wade and his brothers are with their granddaddies lawyer and what he has just told Wade has them all reeling. Wade has three months to either get married or lose the ranch he has helped his grandfather with all these years and loves almost as much as he did his grandfather. He now only has three days before the deadline is up and he doesn't have a wife or any prospects. He is on his way home from a buying trip when he stops at a truck stop. Allie is working the shift by herself as the other waitress has called in sick and she is dead tired. She can't help but notice the cowboy who came in and is sitting in the back booth. She has refilled his coffee several times, but, is concerned about him as he seems to have the problems of the world on his shoulders. So she puts in an order of pancakes and bacon for him and hopes that it will help. Since there is a lull in the restaurant she asks if he is okay and when he tells her what is going on, she can't help but believe him and wants to help. So she agrees to marry him! He explains to her about the contract she will need to sign and everything. She tells her best friend Ginny, about what she is going to do and Ginny is ready to stomp Wade for leading her friend on. What happens when Ginny gets to the courthouse and reads over the contract? Will Allie get her heart broken? Will Wade? Only one way to find out, read this great story by Hope Moore.

I really enjoyed this book. The story was sweet with no drama. Wade McCoy grew up working on the ranch. He gave his own blood, sweat and tears to build it to be what it is today. His grandfather had taught him everything he knew. Most people would say his grandfather was bossy. Even from the grave he is still calling the shots, and making people jump through hoops. The ranch house was always filled with laughter and fun when his grandkids were little. He wanted that back. He wanted the house that he had built for his wife 20 years ago, to be filled with his grandkids. In his will, Wade must marry a wife within 3 months or loose the ranch, house, everything. His brothers will also lose the ranch. Wade was always against marriage, and his grandfather knew it.

Allie just lost her dad, and her mom was in the hospital in a coma. She lost her flower shop in a fire. She was working as much as she could at a truck stop as a waitress. She needed money to move her mom to a rehab center. One night she saw a sad cowboy, who was about to lose everything. She understood how he felt. He told her about his grandfather’s will. She agreed to help him out, and he agreed to help get her mom moved.

The contract was simple. Marry for 3 months, and the ranch would be his. Throughout the book the two slowly feel in love. sweet story.

2.5 Star Rating

This had potential, but the third wheel (her bestfriend), lackluster h (insipid/spineless/naïve), the contract (the H is a man of his word), each others personal tragedies (his dead parents/her burned down business, dead father, and coma mother) just unnecessarily drug the drama/story for much longer than needed in an unpleasant, repetitive way.

Anytime the h felt lost/confused/weak she would go running to her besty to have her fix/tell her what to do. The besty would then just charge into any situation like a bull in a china shop. The couple would then revert back to keeping to the terms of the contract/treating each other like strangers. Rinse and repeat.

By the way, the bestfriend was the one who was a total jerk to the next brother. Who visits someone's home/business and just starts insulting them and telling them what to do? Well, she does and apparently has every right because she also makes wine. She then tells the h that the brother looks down on her and is arrogant. WTH? A guy just plans to give a total stranger a casual tour and then gets torn a new one. I'd be pissed too. So, yeah, I'm not interested in the next story with her. She's psycho!

As my first experience with a novel by Hope Moore, it left me looking for more! Other reviewers have offered significant detail about the storyline and characters, so I will not expand on what they have written. This story kept me interested and entertained from beginning to end. The concept of a grandfather manipulating his grandsons from the grave is a theme I have seen before, but, in this instance, Ms. Moore uses it quite adeptly as a stepping stone in creating a new series that will keep me reading her works for some time. This is a sweet, clean, contemporary romance set in the hill country of west Texas. The three brothers introduced in this first novel are, at the outset, confirmed billionaire bachelors. The empire their grandfather built with their help blossomed when they found oil on their ranch. This added a believable element to the story as to how grandfather gained his wealth and sets the stage for him to meddle in the lives of his grandsons using the terms of his will. Ms. Moore did a great job of completing my checklist for a FIVE-STAR review.

There are a lot of these type of stories out there right now, and I often don't make it through the book it ends up being so cliché - but I really enjoyed this story. It's like others, but the writing kept me turning pages and into the emotion of the story.

Wade's grandfather has thrown his grandson's for a loop. Wade is the first to find out what the stipulations are for him to inherit the ranch. If he doesn't come through the ranch is lost to all three boys - he has three months to find a wife and then he has to stay married for three months. When he stops at a Truck Stop to mull over the fact he has but two days left to find that wife, the waitress shows him some compassion and care and they get to talking and realize that she has a big financial need. He likes her, she's nice - and she is willing to marry him for those three months. Neither of them want to fall in love, but the Lord has other plans!

This is a clean read, although there are some steamy moments.

When Wade met Allie at the truck stop, it’s like fate finally does something good in store for both of them. Wade needed a wife for three months to get married within his grandfather’s will’s set deadline. And Allie needed money to take care of her mother who was in a coma. The only question they have is not if they should marry, but if they will be able to not involve their hearts in this business transaction…
This story is overall sweet. Though Wade wanted a fake wife for a short amount of time, he still could not marry just anyone for money. Both main characters had a history of being abused emotionally, sometimes also financially. No wonder they were wary of marriage, but once they really got no know each other and realized the partner is genuine and always so caring, they each gave the other the possibility to heal past wounds and look forward to a brighter future, maybe even together ☺… Have fun finding out with Wade and Allie how they make this fake marriage work!

Her Billionaire Cowboy's Fake Marriage by Hope Moore
McCoy Billionaire Brothers Series Book One
Wade McCoy and his brothers just lost their grandfather, as if that wasn't shocking enough...his will floors them. J.D. McCoy left stipulations that if Wade didn't marry in three months...and stay married for three more months...he'd lose the ranch that he loved as much as his granddad had.

Allie Jordan's life has been going downhill and is showing no sign of slowing down. And then while waitressing at the truck stop, everything halted and evened out. The miracle she'd been praying for came in the form of a forlorn cowboy.

What a great story! I loved it. Definitely have tissues nearby if you cry easily. I can't wait for more books in this series.

A romance story that will have you awwh at the end - life throws lemmings & you make lemonade is a perfect fit!

Hope Moore does a terrific job with this McCoy Brothers Series. The Granddaddy desires to have the ranch thriving with love & laughter. The brother lost their parents & their cousins at the same tragic plane crash - so they are all very close! Granddaddy passed quickly of a heart attack. The reading of the will is about to give the grandchildren one too. Still grieving the loss & now forced find a wife & stay married three months or lose it all. Wade is first up & a few days left & he couldn't do it. Allie waitressing 24/7 just about to provide care for her mom in a coma. The trials & tribulation a wonder to wonder to watch and the end so worth it! V0, S0 a clean romance

Her Billionaire Cowboys a Fake Marriage

This is the 3rd book in this series that I have read , first two before this one,but only the first I am able to leave my review on. This was another great story on how money can enter into a persons life and how some people think they can navigate their children's lives the way they want them to go. Grandfather decided that Wade was going to have to jump through the hoops he set up before he would inherit his farm/ ranch that he had worked so hard all his life to get to the point it was at when he passed away. Wade surprised even himself and found a girl he could marry and fall in love with and still keep his inheritance. This is my review and mine alone and in my words only. Norma Gorrill

Clean Read

Wade needs to marry within three months to save the ranch his grandfather left him. Allie is working as many shifts as a waitress to earn money to help buy her mother's hospital bills. Wade has been at an auction to buy bulls for the ranch when he stops in the truck stop cafe where Allie works Allie can tell something is bothering her customer and she decides to bring coffee and some food. She starts to talk to Wade and he ends up telling about his need to get married now with just three days left to save his ranch. Allie starts thinking and tells him about her need to help pay for the hospital bills and the need to get therapy for her mom. They make an agreement and the rest is a very interesting read.

Hmmm

I am in the middle about this book. I enjoyed the read. Allie was so pitiful. Her emotions went from totally depressed to having her unspoken wants never being fulfilled. She was just not memorable like her friend Ginny.
This quote from Ginny set the book in action:
"I’m .......going to get me a piece of that husband of yours. He’s got your mind spinning and I’m here to stop that merry-go-round.”

It is a good read. Very OF which I enjoy. I feel I will enjoy book 2 a little better after reading the excerpt.

HAha. I’m going to open my florist shop again as soon as Mama is out of the coma and I get her out of the rehab center and back home........

Granddaddy Knows Best

Sweet happily ever after romance. She had lost everything and he was about to. Granddaddy’s will and it’s crazy stipulations brought him to a desperate point. She was working at the truck stop again trying to find a way to save her mom. This story takes you through 3 months of them being the help they each needed. From the beginning the reader knows they will end up happily ever after and it is well written and keeps you turning the pages to see how it will get to that. A great way to spend some time with believable characters.

According to his grandfather's will, Wade had to marry a gal within three months and remain married for another three months in order to inherit the ranch. Having been hurt in the past, all his efforts went towards the Texan ranch, not interested in marriage. Yet, desperate to maintain ownership, he came across a desperate waitress who needed money and therapy for her mother's recovery from an accident. However, he didn't expect an attraction to manifest from this deal. A sweet and clean billionaire cowboy story with a unique plot, great for an enjoyable bedtime read.

Great read

Ms. Moore writes very emotionally complex characters and situations. Wade and Allie are able to help each other in exactly the way needed at just the right time. They make a fabulous couple and there is great humor in the story as well. The other characters really round out the book and makes you want to hear their stories also. This story is very captivating and is hard to put down. I would recommend this story to any reader who likes clean cowboy romances.

Her Billionaire Cowboy's Fake Marriage

Wade has been raised by his grandfather and worked very hard right next to his grandfather for many years caring and building the ranch. When his grandfather passed unexpectedly, his will was even more unexpected by Wade and his brothers. Wade has 3 months to marry and stay married for 3 months, or lose everything! Meeting all the particulars turn out to be more challenging than expected, can Wade really do it?

Her Billionaire Cowboy’s Fake Marriage

This story was really interesting. Two people, struggling with a great need in their lives, and they met at truck stop. Allie was a waitress, Wade was a wealthy Cowboy, needing to find a lady to meet his grandfather’s requirements of marriage. This was in order to keep his ranch, his inheritance. Allie needed money to keep her Mother in a rehab unit for stroke care. You will enjoy their journey, finding true love.

Immature

Both the characters and the writing are immature and leave a lot to be desired. Author uses more words than necessary, yet also uses the same words and is not very descriptive. Book desperately needs an editor, especially since the author hasn’t made up their mind whether or not to use the comma with “too” and begins sentences with and, but, and because. Felt too much like reading a creative writing assignment from one of my students.

A Texas cowboy finds love with a truck stop waitress.

Enjoyed being back with this author again. Wade and Allie story was a quick romance. His grandad put a hard stipulation on he and his brothers. It took him a little while to find the one but he did. When he did it was love at first sight but he fought it. Allie needed him as much as he needed her. It was love at first sight for her too she fought it as well. But in the end all came out right.

I loved the story and the characters (the best girl friend of the h was a joy?). The story could have been very cheesy, it was not. It could have been OTT with a cold, almost abusive alpha but it was not. The h could have been a gold digger, but she was not. Everything combined to make this a truly enjoyable read.

Reality

The last three months of her life was horrid, her business had burned down, her mother and father was in an accident. Her father died and her mother is in a coma. In walks a stranger who is willing to pay her enough money to take care of her mother's bills. She just has to marry him for three months.

Could not really get into this book. It took me months of reading a couple pages here and there to finish it. I always make myself finish a book trying to give it a chance. I found it very average. Nothing really surprising or exciting. Just a bit blah. Maybe part of it is I have been reading more sci-fi than romance. Just was not my cup of tea.
