At the edge of the wilderness, far away from the big city, nothing bad could ever happen in such a protected place...or could it?

Jake and Mollie Caldwell started their small farm and homestead to be able to provide for an uncertain future for their family, friends, and community. They have tried to plan for everything, but they never imagined this would happen.

In this chaotic new world, where nothing is normal, easy, or safe, will Jake and Mollie’s family be able to make it to the safe haven they have provided? Will the Caldwells’ planning, provisions, and faith be enough?

Caldwell’s Homestead is the first installment of the Havoc in Wyoming Christian Futuristic series. If you like mysterious apocalyptic events, fast-paced adventure, and plausible situations, then you’ll love this page-turning series.

The Havoc in Wyoming series has been described as “Cozy” Apocalypse and contains no profanity, gratuitous sex scenes, or overly detailed gruesome death scenes. However, it does contain conservative family values and references to God, prayer, scripture, and Christianity.

Millie Copper, writer of Cozy Apocalyptic Fiction and preparedness mentor, was born in Nebraska but never lived there. Her parents fully embraced wanderlust and moved regularly, giving her an advantage of being from nowhere and everywhere.

Millie Copper lives in the wilds of Wyoming with her husband and young son, tending chickens and attempting a food forest on their small homestead. After living off the grid for several years, they've recently gone back on the grid. Four adult daughters, three sons-in-law, and five grandchildren round out the family.

Since 2009, Millie has authored articles on traditional foods, alternative health, homesteading, and preparedness-many times all within the same piece. Millie has penned seven nonfiction, traditional food focused books, sharing how, with a little creativity, anyone can transition to a real foods diet without overwhelming their food budget.

The twelve-installment Havoc in Wyoming and six-installment Montana Mayhem Christian Post-Apocalyptic fiction series use her homesteading, off-the-grid, and preparedness lifestyle as a guide. The adventures continue with the upcoming Dakota Destruction series.

This is a good clean book that can be read by young and older readers alike. The story is great and I highly recommend it.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I like the fact that it was written from more than one point of view including the young child. That was pretty neat. I also like the fact that it was written from a Christian point of view with no profanity violence or sexual scenes. That is one of the reasons I chose it other than the fact that I like apocalyptic books that are fast-paced and hard to put down. This book includes all in one.

Incredible!

This is a remarkable book. Worth reading and makes you think with the mess our nation is in. Great characters, lots of action! I have now read the entire series and every no is incredible. And I want to say to the people who say there is too much to God in these books - if these things were to really happen which is possible, you will find yourself crying out to the very God you now think is not real!

I started to enjoy it

Ms. Copper has a nice writing style and she takes the time to proofread, which is nice. Her characters are believable-and even likable. My problem (and it may be just my problem) it's that at 20% in they're still shopping. Seriously. Maybe this is what it's like for rich people to prepare, but I could not relate to or continue to read about the thousands spent days in a row to beef up stocks they already had rooms full of 🤷‍♀️

Very good premise, honest simple people with character on the worst days of their lives. One week in the American Apocalypse. Not just one, but multiple adventures, trials, and tribulations.

The Author has some dialogue and First-Person perspective issues, but this is a very strong start to a good series, well worth your time.

Fair

Positive: The writing is good for this type (ebook) of author; grammar, plot and character development all better than average.
Negative: This is not a book. Its a group of chapters. Books have a beginning, a plot and a conclusion. This simply stops with no conclusion or even a cliffhanger. Kinda sick of it. It also moves all loose we.

This is without a doubt one of the worst books Ive ever picked up. DNF at 243 pages, the main character spends the majority of the book shopping for his prepper lifestyle as the world slowly falls apart around him. Painfully dull and terribly written. I was surprised there are 9 more books in the series, certainly there can only be so many things to pick up on a shopping list...

Interesting

Slightly different take on post apocalyptic fiction. Written more in the point of view of each character. I truly enjoyed first book and have purchased the next two in the series. Recommend.

Loved, Loved , Loved the book! Now on book 2 and can't wait to find out what happens next. I like the idea to look at each daughter and what they are going thru to get to the parents homestead and then to find out if Mom ever made it back home.

Caldwell's Homestead: Havoc in Wyoming, Part 1 by Millie Copper

5 Stars

I am so in love with this series so far. I have a daughter who at one time with her husband had become what she called a prepper. I have to admit I was kind of like a couple characters in this story and didn't really understand. This series and type of genre has me curious and totally fascinated. It also has made me think, especially with how our real life world is today!

I have fallen in love with the Caldwell family. I have one question and hope it's answered in the books to come…Where are the Mitchells? I hope all of this is building to them coming into the picture at some point, they still have a lot of story to tell.

I am really liking where this whole story is going and I love the family bonds and how that is all coming together. Now I just need to know where Molly is and all will be right in line with where it should be. I've read a lot of the reviews and so many have a problem with some of the shopping that is being done. I have to say, I love this part..It makes me wonder what I'd buy, and I can see myself doing the same thing. The descriptions of the Caldwell homestead has me visualizing everything and I'm in awe with it all.

I've gone ahead and bought the whole series and can not wait to get through them all. I never thought this would be something I would enjoy, I mean I love Dystopian novels if they have a real feeling about them, but this story is blowing me away!

On to Katie’s journey!

This apocalyptic novel has a great storyline but needs an editor to trim some of the wordiness. There are so many characters in play it’s difficult to keep up with them. I especially am interested in the Caldwell family but Dan definitely has my attention. He may be big trouble later in the series. I like that there is no cursing and there is a couple of prayers. I know praying would be my top priority in a similar situation.

Decent read

This book was okay, but drags. For all the things listed that are going on in the world there is not a lot of action or suspense other than waiting for Jake’s wife to get home.

The main characters shop a lot and there is a lot of details about what they buy. It gets a bit monotonous. I did like the characters and the Christian elements in the book. I’ll read the next book, hoping for more action.

Dreary shopping slog

I hate shopping. So 3 detailed shopping trips to 4 different stores in town are not my idea of fun.
You forgot the tampons.
Very good editing is much appreciated.

Mostly a guide

There was not much of a story in this book. If you want a good manual on preparing for disaster you might like this. The characters were very shallow . The writing was almost a list of to dos. I don't recommend this book for entertainment reading.

absolutely too much god thingies for european taste, otherwise quite interesting book though sometimes more than repetitive. still i liked the book's softness. that was absolutely best area of this story. really pity with all that huge amount of god subjects.

This is an excellent 1st novel of a new series.
Characters are very realistic.
One of only a handful of books that I have read that want me to hurry and turn the page so I cn see what happens next.
Well done Millie Cooper! I have ordered books #2, #3, and #4 of the series.

I love these type of post-apocalyptic stories, but the writing style is not conducive to character work- it's more telling than showing anything. The perspective of the 10 year old seems like the author doesn't know any children

This is a really good first book in this new & exciting clean, Christian series. Classed as a cozy apocalypse there is not profanity or sex. This does not take away from the story line or the overall experience. Be warned it does just end! I do still recommend!

When the SHTF

Characters are flawed, as are we all. I like that we get to see the story through multiple sets of eyes.
Would recommend this series to any with an avid love of post apocalyptic stories. Lots of useful information in these pages.

At 1st I was unsure of the writers style of writing in this book. It was different than another of her books I had read. I ended up really enjoying how she wrote it. It was also refreshing not having vulgar language, and suggestive situations. I will look forward to the rest of the series!

This is an interesting story especially if you want to prepare for long-term disaster. The people in the story come off as ordinary people forced into saving a lot of loved ones and they do it by being ready well ahead of time.

Survival story in Wyoming during terrorism threat and how people prepare (or don't) to the situation. Similar to other Survivalist work with some unnecessary details that detracted from the story and action.
