With the nereids banished from Poseidon’s Academy, Hailey expects her third year of high school to finally be normal—no monsters trying to eat her, no incurable disease sweeping through the Academy, and no one trying to resurrect the gods. But the Fates have different plans in mind for Hailey.
Only a few weeks into the school year a student vanishes. Everyone believes them lost in the palace, but when more students begin disappearing one by one, Hailey realises someone, or something, is taking the students and that everyone living in the Academy is in serious danger.

Here's what readers are saying about this middle grade fantasy “Funny fast paced good light read. Recommended to my kids can't wait to read the next one.” Heather, Goodreads ★★★★★
“Sarah A Vogler leads us through a mind-boggling maze of Greek mythology, Gods and some serious villains. I’m in awe of such an entrancing story and can not wait to dive under the waters and beneath the pages of Hailey’s continued adventure.” Kellie, Goodreads ★★★★★
“This story and the whole series is really good. I agree it is a great way to introduce kids to reading and encourage an early love of mythology and history. If any age enjoyed Harry Potter read this series you will enjoy it as well.” Vickie, Goodreads ★★★★★
“What an incredible book!! I was swept away in this wonderfully written book. With the impulsivity you would expect from high school freshmen, we watch friendships grow and individuals learn who they are. It was a very unique spin on mythology with plenty of adventure. I think fans of Rick Riordan will greatly enjoy this book but it also has a bit of a Buffy the Vampire Slayer feel to it as well.’ Amy, Goodreads ★★★★★
“A very fun read with lots of action and daring. I liked that a part of the message was facing one sphere no matter what.” Ciayrra, Goodreads ★★★★★

This one had me reading and reading till my eyes were sore. I just wanted to know what happens next. I knew there was something about Cady but couldn’t put my finger on it. She was bullied to the point of turning to the dark side to make it better. THE GODS ARE BACK!!! And they are pissed off. I can’t wait to start the next book just to find out what happens to Poseidon school. Will the teachers escape Poseidons wrath? Will the students continue learning ?

In this third installment of Poseidon's Academy, Hailey and friends must contend with a new threat at school, in the form of somewhat or something making students disappear. So how did this book measure up to the series so far?
I must admit, I was not a fan of the first half or so of the book, as not a lot happens, and what does happen often doesn't feel important or engaging enough. Jayden, who was one of the main cast of five in the previous two books, appears very little here, as he now spends more time with his new girlfriend, Cady, so he's essentially out of the group of friends now. I don't midn the bit of realism, as sometimes friends do drift away like that. What I did mind was Demi's incessant whining and nasty attitude about it, it was extremely annoying and got old very fast, then there's her own romance with a new character, Brax, plus Hailey and Brennan being into each other despite barely interacting in last book and this one. I'm not a fan of romance in general, but I especially dislike teenage romance. Demi just in general is annoying and rarely thinks things through, whereas Hailey's extremely negative and paranoid streak continues here and it too gets old quickly.
Honestly, the book was shaping up to be a disapointment, but as soon as the students start to disappear, the story gets considerably better. The threat feels quite genuine, there's a foreboding air in the school that gets bleaker the more people disappear. There will certainly eb comparisons to the second Harry Potter book, no doubt, but honestly, I feel this one does the threat to the school far better. In the Harry Potter book, the threat doesn't feel as threatening because nobody dies and in the end it feels like the threat was just bungling everything, whereas in here the threat is genuine, smart, made even worse by the interventiion fo the evil nereids with nefarious plans of their own. It all worked together to make for a superb second half of the book.
Beyond that, we got new characters that were quite interesting, such as Zara, Lacey, the antagonistic Bryce, as weell as the return of a character from the second book, plus it was cool to see other kids filling in for Jayden in the group, such as Brennan, Tahlia (I do wish she could ahve done more, as she's easily one of my favorite characters) and especially Kallie, it was great to see other friends of the group helping out in their missions, it always adds an extra bit of excitement and coolness. Another thing I quite enjoyed was a flashback from Amathia regarding one of my favorite Greek gods, it was very insightful and very interesting. And then there were the last couple of chapters, which felt huge from a storyline point of view, ending the book with a resounding bang that has me eager to dive back in for the next book.
Overall, while the first half of the book was rather lackluster and a bunch of things annoyed me (namely the teen romance), the second half of the book picked things up and then some, making for a very fun and enjoyable read, making the book worthy of a 4 out of 5 stars for me. Definitely looking forward to the next book.
Beautiful description, compelling story and twists that all make sense in the end, once your head stops spinning ... I cannot wait for the next instalment of Poseidon’s Academy.
This series has been very engaging. I have read numerous mythical based variations on the Greek gods. As storylines go Mrs. Vogler has done an excellent job weaving a story that challenges the reader to keep up with the action. I look forward to the next book.
