Back at Primhaven, Lee returns to the rhythm of life as an initiate mage. With Genevieve Laughton now serving as the school's Interim Lead Instructor, the rules and boundaries he'd grown so accustomed to ignoring are no longer so easily dismissed. The arrival of a new threat on Primhaven's doorstep also leaves Lee and friends contending with the frozen aftermath of one of Shay Morrigan's ancient enemies. WARNING: This novel contains graphic sex scenes between the main character and numerous women/succubi/monster girls.
Hey, I'm Edmund Hughes. I like to write fantasy novels with strong erotic themes, gratuitous amounts of sex and violence, and offensive humor. If that's what you're looking for, you've come to the right place.
Lee Amaranth is back at Primhaven, but things are not exactly back to normal. Forces on both sides of the magical works are trying to use him for their own purposes, and lee himself has secrets to keep, while he tries to deal with the ramifications of his polyamorous lifestyle. Dark Clouds are brewing, Ice trolls are stirring, and Tessa has a new kitten.
Story: one of the best so far in this series, the main character experiences a lot and undergoes a great deal of change, both intentionally add due to circumstances beyond his control. It feels like a lot happened, and the story had a defiant beginning, middle and end. Reading this one left me both satisfied and wanting more.
Sex: yes as always a lot of steamy action, romantic entanglements and sexy drama. Some of the key sex scenes were well written and hot, others felt veiled at best or yaddad over at worst. I would thoroughly enjoy these books even if there was no “on screen” sex, but one of the reasons I love this author is the steamy, kinky and quantity of erotic content. This one delivered big on story, and quantity of sex, but the over all quality of sex was maybe as strong as previous episodes.
Characters: All Characters got some really good character development, Tessa ( my favorite ) was sidelined for much of this one, however she was in the spotlight for most of the last book so that’s fine.
World Building: The world is growing in complexity building on what was laid out in the Dark Impulse series, and previous editions of this series, it continues to grow richer and deeper.
Side Hustle: one area I wish was better, the only thing I think that is missing or at least not strong in this series, is more “Day in the life”. Almost all of this novel focus on the main plot. Very little if anything that we see on screen is unrelated to the main plot. Given the richness of the world, the depth of the characters, it would be nice to get a nice B plot going on a school, with more time spent on classes, lessons and interactions with other students and teachers not directly tied to the plot. ( just wishing I’m totally happy with this book as is )
Ready for the next.

I read this series because they are easy to get through and am bored because of the lockdown.
The book is fine, if all you want is sex and fanstany it's there. Though none of the characters are people, they don't process like people. Best example you were abounded by your sister for years. You find out she has been with her friends in a location that could keep you safe. Instead of being hating them or being sad or any emotion you go that was a sucky thing to do. I feel like this series is kinda boring because no one cares there is no pain, even at a point where someone is talking about how sad they are 5 minutes later they are like sex though. So you never really connect to what tension.
To sum up its fine and if the writer focused even a little on character it be a decent book. But it is so what it that you just roll your eyes and skip the sex because it's just boring.

Lee and Harper go and visit some frost trolls and take on a mission for them. This involves searching a tomb to track down the unavowed queen but as usual things don't go to plan. At the same time Harper's cousin Willow, a druid, joins Primhaven and causes problems for Lee. Lee's sister Zoe pops up again making a request for his help which puts Lee in a difficult situation.

I’ve enjoyed every book in this series. I love the way it ties into Dark Impulses and continues that story. I wasn’t satisfied with the way it ended and now I know why it was left that way.
