Pig isn't like most pigs. She doesn't like to roll in the mud or get dirty. She likes to watch birds and butterflies. She likes to sing and make up stories. She's a daydreamer. Mouse is a vagabond, always moving to keep safe. When events bring them together, an unlikely friendship forms as they bond over their first adventure: treasure hunting!
From childhood through her college years, Kelly Lenihan was forever making up stories, often writing them down. After completing a general arts degree from the University of Washington, Kelly went on to enjoy a diverse range of creative endeavors, from fashion design and hand-painted pottery to web design and teaching global arts. When she's not reading or writing, you might find her out outdoors with her camera, capturing digital images of nature's bounty. Never losing her penchant for writing; she’s been published in various magazines and enjoyed her own newspaper column for several years. To this day, she is an avid food blogger (kellylenihan.com) and has more children’s picture books in the works as well as a couple cookbooks. As a parent, Kelly delighted in sharing her love of the magical world of books by reading aloud to her two boys. Many nights, her younger son would place his tiny hand on hers while looking up with big, brown hope-filled eyes, (most likely as a stalling tactic) and plead for “one more story” – how could any parent refuse? So in the moment, Kelly began making up stories, which to this day, remain beloved family favorites. She hopes you love them too.
A sweet and educational adventure about friendship. I bought “Adventures of Pig and Mouse” for a 3-year-old girl I babysit, who just like Pig loves to collect treasures outside. The sweet story is not only about a fun little adventure but teaches how special friendships can form despite differences. The pictures are so cheerful and colorful with lots of interesting things to capture the attention of children all ages.
