The Foxwood Village story continues as the Thompson family move into Foxwood Manor in southern, rural Virginia. What’s scarier than Native American land haunted by tortured souls? Land that is also a direct line of life to a dark coven of witches from the 16th century. Their main goal? To bring our witchy heroine, Girty Thompson, over to the dark side so they can use her energy to fuel them for many more centuries to come. Join Girty and our returning Ghost friend Lizzie as Girty grows into her powers and together, they try to put an end to the suffering of those caught up in the spiritual nexus of Foxwood Village.

Continued from The Haunting at Foxwoods Village. Girty and her family have moved into Foxwood Manor. She is a direct descendent of the Redfern line of witches. She has powers that she does not understand. And she is a very powerful with in her own right. She sees ghost and because of her powers, she is in danger from other witches of her line. When she is a child, her powers are bound and her memory of those powers are removed.
Eleven years later, her sixteenth birthday is a matter of days away, and it is almost time for the binding spell to revert itself. But because of the spirits and the other witches wanting her powers, she is in danger of becoming evil. A fight must occur. A fight for her soul and her powers. Which side will win?
The Haunting at Foxwood Village is a very entertaining ghost story . I would recommend for young readers, nothing that would give them nightmares if they read this sort of thing. The Foxwood Village story continues in Dark Coven. Girty grows into her witch powers and the ghost Lizzie tries to help her put an end to the witches coven who ruined her family. Of course there is good v evil. Brent was to be the sacrifice but they didn't count on a witch's kiss that could save him.
I liked both books in the series by Kasey Hill. The stories may be the typical ghost and witch themes but there are plenty of twists to keep you interested. The story in both books flow nicely and I read one book each evening.
I really enjoyed reading “Dark Coven.” This book clearly displays the obstacles, control, and forces that are otherwise known as good and evil. “ Dark Coven” had everything I look for in a darker book. There was anticipation, thrills, laughter, and most of all turmoil.
Girty is a witch and as a child, her powers are taken away. Once she turned 16, she wanted her powers back at any cost. And this changed so many lives in her world.
I cannot wait until the next book in this series.
My favorite quote,” My body is my body, my powers are my powers, and you have no rule over either!"
Girty can see dead people and she's only a little girl, she's coming into her witch powers too young. The dark witches want her powers for themselves but so do the Redferns. Binding her powers until she turns sixteen is the ideal thing to do, or is it? It's about to get real, really fast! This is my first Kasey Hill read, though out of order, it won't be my last. Kasey Hill is definitely my witch!!
This is the second book I've read of Kasey Hill's Dark Coven is just as good if not better then the first book. The characters are so relatable, you will fall in love with them. Feel their love, and their pain. A must read.
