Let me start off by saying that I am a huge fan of political thrillers. Also, I have read all 5 books in this series. This review applies to the whole series.

With any good political thriller there is a fine line between a believable story and going over the top. Unfortunately, James Rosone crosses that line.

The first book, Rigged, starts off with all of the elements of a good political thriller that was frighteningly prophetic. The book was written in 2018 and the president, called Jonathan Sachs in this series, was an obvious depiction of a toned down Donald Trump. When reelection time comes there is strong and incontrovertible evidence that the election was rigged by forces outside of the United States.

Sound familiar?

President Sachs, after showing the evidence, decides to reject the results of the election to the point where he wants a do-over. Of course, his opponent refuses to accept that. Now a U.N. so-called peacekeeping force, several European countries, China, and even Canada comes to the aid of the challenger to the point of a military invasion of the United States...only China has other motives.

All is good up to that point. Then we have 4 and a half books of military battle after military battle after military battle...repleat with all of the military acronyms and talk that only an experienced Marine might understand. In the process, everything imaginable gets thrown into the story to the point of absurd.

How many times do you need to hear a description of someone's head becoming a red mist of blood and brain matter? How many times do we need to hear that someone, while thinking, "blew out air as if he were blowing a smoke ring?"

Frankly, this series would have worked better as maybe two or three books. We got the message as to how bad the military situation was.

The last book finally got us back to the political thriller with a few more things tossed into the mix.

Mr. Rosone would have benefited by the advise of a good publisher rather than self-publishing.

Vengeance. James Rosone Miranda Watson

A rigged presidential election. The country is spilt in two. Canada has sided against the sitting and reelected president. Canada has become a staging area for UN forces for Canadian, Norweigan & Russian forces to invade America and put in power the fraudulently elected president. Initially even he isn't even aware of the rigged election. China has entered the fray. Everyone has surrendered except them. They control large areas in America, but are starting to lose their grip. The world has now been made aware of the rigged election, the countries involved. China appears to have one more hand to play. Losses on both sides will be enormously staggering. Another excellent book in this series. My highest recommendation!

This is part four of a long five-part book. It can't really be read as a stand-alone novel. It is at least 95% action vs. plot development, which is a little thin on advancing the plot for my taste, although the action writing is good and it is a page-turner.

It has a very large cast of characters, but they are all two dimensional. Although this is typical of the action-thriller genre, more could have been done in such a long book. Some of the dialogue is cliched. The proofreading seems to be getting a little sloppier with each instalment, although it is not particularly worse than books from major publishers these days.

The pieces are all in free fall....

As the UN coalition becomes a non entity China steps up its genocide of senior Americans and kidnapping of American women... Warned that this course of action will result in massive killings of civilian Chinese citizens, the Chinese press harder in an attempt to solidify their hold on California and other occupied states... America makes a concerted effort to make its citizens realize they have been duped and occupied by an invading foreign enemy... Is it too little too late?

To Much

I love these “what if” or “it could happen” military scenario books. The Red Storm Series was awesome and this one was doing good. Then chapter 10. A little too much messaging on our current state of presidential affairs mixed with Skull and Bones conspiracy theory. That might play to a certain audience, probably the same ones that the story line of kidnapping American women was the target for. For that you loose two stars.

This series is incredible and Book 4 lives up to its name. So suspenseful, with perfect descriptions, that you feel like you are there. Even though the good guys are winning now, with one more book to go, anything could happen.
I especially enjoyed BJ Harrison's narration. The wide variety of voices and accents makes it like watching a movie. I read the book in three days! Can't wait to begin the next!

Predictions?

Absolutely cannot get enough of this series.
In a very disturbing way much of the plot is far too conceivable .
My father used to say many years ago that China will be the biggest threat...
I fear he was correct. The Falling Empires series lays out some great "what if's" in a way that hits home.

A Great Read

The fourth book in the series keeps up the pace adding more depth to.already well researched and established characters. Combat scenes as well as the political machinations behind the civil complement each other perfectly as we follow the story and move deeper towards my n conclusion. I thoroughly recommend this book.

This is the best book often series so far. I

The authors really out did themselves with this one. The entire book was practically all combat. Where the other books were used to setup the story this book it all came together. Hopefully when the next book is released next month all will be put right with the world.

Well drawn and frighteningly possible .

This is a solid, realistic and frighteningly plausible s
ries. The characters are well define and the action scenes are very realistic. The authors are planning another book in the series.I think that that is a mistake. This book ended well and satisfying, no need for further explanations for the average reader.

Not my usual read

While this isn't the type of book I typically read, after the first book I was caught and had to find out where it would go. I will admit though that some of the battle scenes seemed very foreign to me and would be better suited to someone who had some basic knowledge of war and battle

Although there are grammatical errors (sorry, I am an English major), I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline. What scares me is that the storyline is plausible if all the stars align. And, all the books parallel the current events of today. This book, particularly, is very action packed. This is book 4 of 5 books.

The best yet

I love this series. Though sceptical at first, it has developed into a first class adventure. Militarily superb, it encompasses a major conflict, global politics, a glimpse into the future...Fantastic

Pulling it all together

The stage is set for the end of this thrilling series. All the pieces are in place and it will be great to see where it all ends. I will be sad to leave the series when it finishes.

Entertaining speculative fiction

Not exactly low brow, but if you’re looking for the level of technical complexity of Tom Clancy, you’ll be disappointed. However, it’s an easy and interesting read.

The Chaos Continues

This 4th book in the Falling Empires Series does not disappoint. The action and intrigue flows smoothly from the previous books. You experience the drama from several different viewpoints that serves to tie the overall story together. On to book 5.

Am I Reading News Reports?

Reading these books in late July-August 2020 and how closely the tale tracks with the daily happenings (of our current) civil and political climate has me thinking that the authors are omniscient fortune tellers. Amazing! Great action!

Vengeance

Superb series and this one marks the true turning point. I look forward to the next installment. I truly appreciated the vignettes of the action as it progressed from a series of individual sight to the big pictures.

Again, awesome

I just finished this book, had a hard time putting it down. If my eyes were better, I would have read it cover to cover in one sitting. The minds of the authors scare me, or, it could be the future. One hell of a book.

When you attack someone remember it isn't over then. In the end you must prepare for the aftermath. Life is a series of actions that have Consequence's.
