The Fever Hordesman sits outside my house, wailing punny lyrics while beating a rock rhythm on his armor, and I'm late for work. My Omega heat’s coming on early, throwing a monkey wrench into my single-minded plan to ignore his single-minded quest to mate me. I have to admit—privately—his strong jaw, full mouth, and a scent that can send over a dozen Omegas into heat, make my girly bits quiver. Just a little.
When the Swarm approaches me with an offer I can’t refuse, keeping Sotay at arm’s length is no longer an option. He’s got something the Swarm wants. If I don’t do as they say, they'll kill my mom.
Once our passion ignites, there’s no putting it out. Except, I'm forced to betray him.

I loved Sotay. He was cute and cheesy but with a dirty kinky streak!! I just wish there was more sexy times. Don't get me wrong I love this series but there was some serious hold out and build up between Leah and Sotay, then we find out he's 14.5 in with piercings and I'm thinking holy smokes is there gonna be a combustion fire in few chapters when they finally get down to business? But sadly no it kinda got glossed over. I get told in the next book they have a 11 day heat-a-thon but I didn't didn't get to read it first hand, cue big pouty face!!!
This is a fantastic series and more than entertaining, so much wit, fun and crazy dialogues - those are laugh lines you like to wear and others get green with envy.
The range of characters that appear, participate and are active, all wonderful in their own way, is now very extensive and a small overview or mapping or glossary would be great.
The love story of Leah and Sotay/Fever is a fast-paced and hidden one. Their communication is sometimes so over each other that you feel they meet and like each other on a different, deeper level. All this is not so obvious and the Alpha/Omega dynamics is this time only a small aspect of their connections - sometimes not so hormone/pheromone-driven, but rather purposeful and conscious.
Refreshingly wonderful different, pragmatically direct and hidden.
Just like the delicate moments, they were not in the foreground, were only a short complementary element, all in all this couple has rather continued us in the whole story and connected loose ends to proceed with tension.
Hordesmen - a rattle of childish men who approach the seriousness of the situation with a wink and who, in addition to their recklessness, are happy to accept the consequences as long as the ego and the result are right - the mixture does it!
Up date September 2020: even better as a re-read as an audible!
I absolutely love this series! It's full of humour and always makes me smile. For an Omegaverse series it's a very fluffy book and series, it's not got any brutality against the omegas as many tropes in this universe follows.
Milana's universe has its own interesting form of Alphas and I am a huge fan.
Check out my other revues in this series for more on that. :)
Allthough I am a huge fan of the Hordesmen, I can't help but still think that book 1 is still better than its sequals. Though I can see the red line and the books follow the bad guys and we get closer and closer to catching the Swarm etc, I can't help but think that there wasn't really that much happening. There was vastly less action, less sex (only one actual case of intercourse!? Hehe), and even though I love our boys and know this series is all about them, I can't help constantly wishing we saw more of their mums and dad's hehe.
The hospital scene was one of my fav for that reason.
I also can't get enough of the hounds haha, but I miss the 'Boyo' (sp?) antics and descriptions. Now that was a hound that made you laugh. :D
I can't wait to continue on with Dreixx story now, it should be grwst, not to mention different!
I felt like I was getting too much information, all in a small span, so it was hard for me to keep track of who is who and what is going on at times.
I honestly at this point need a map that has all the Alphas, their Omegas, their kids and another showing friends/allies and foes.
The war being projected from book one still has not arisen. I really wasn't a fan of Leah. There was no true communication between her and Sotay that at the point where she tells him she loves him, I shook my head wondering if I was reading the correct story. They didn't really have a love story, theirs was more of an alliance/ continuation of the war plot.
A teaser for Dreikx's book has been included at the end of this. So, we shall be continuing with the story as from Feb and I am curious to see how it will all go down for him/his inner dialogue and the dynamics with his Omega.
OMG ya’ll, do you remember the Hordesmen that caused a frenzy at a graduation party with his scent....this is him, Fever. Woo hoo *rubs hands together*. Let’s be honest we’ve all been “patiently” waiting for his book since we first read that.... and he did not disappoint.
Fever aka Sotay becomes really smitten with Leah. So, this book starts out with him singing about himself on her lawn, funny af. “My name is Fever. I am the ultimate achiever.”....uh, there was more to that song, but, uh not pg, yeah, at the top of his lungs he was singing this...I can’t imagine why she wasn’t swooning instead of rolling her eyes. I couldn’t make this up if I wanted too. So damn funny. He is a damn handful and I loved it, obviously she loves it too. Oh, and he’s modest too, did I mention that? These guys together are like a bunch of overgrown self-centered children, it is the funniest thing, and honestly, the shit they do is exactly what a group of men act like together. I know, my husband has 3 brothers....pure free entertainment. He keeps pursuing her, but she keeps resisting. They were just so funny.
This book wraps up this couple, but there is a continuing bigger storyline. This was a safe read with lotsa baby batter. Funny af, naughty af and addictive af. Rope shenanigans, submission and naughty taunts. We get to read a lot of our favorite characters, including Christy, which I adore. I freaking love this series so much. And as per always...I want more. So damn good. Definitely my guilty pleasure. #BookCrackSeries #MyAddictionIsReal
“My name is Feveeeer. I make Omegas quiver.” “My name is Feveeeer.” “I will never leave her.” “My name is Feveeeer. I am the ultimate achiever.” “My name is Feveeeer. Orgasms I deliver.” “My name is Feveeeer…” Oops this one isn’t appropriate
Who doesn’t adore a big strong Alpha that finds his Omega and then sets out to woo her and win her heart?? Fever has a heart of gold, humor, a talent for singing (and rhyming), and he is determined to get what is his… namely Leah.
Leah has a secret, she has to betray Regha, Fever to be exact, in order to save her mom. What will she do when she has the Regha gate keeper worming his way into her heart? Save the Regha’s or her mother?
I absolutely loved this book. I chuckled at Fever’s antics and swooned more times than I care to admit. He was absolutely adorable, if you are into big growly Alpha’s with impenetrable armor, a sense of humor and very big… stick.
Loved his story, loved him, loved Leah. My favorite of all the Hordesman so far. I definitely recommend it and will keep reading!
2.00 Stars. (Black Paranormal Woman / Green Alien)? Audible audiobook read by Gary Bennett and Ava Lucas. Aside from the information overload in this four hour story, there is nothing romantic about the interaction between the heroine and the hero. The heroine, Leah, an Omega of this or some comparable species, is about to go into heat but continues to work as a party and event planner. The hero, Fever, an Alpha and master tech guy, is tasks with securing a malfunctioning security device on species compound. Fever is aware of Leah's upcoming heat and is determined to be the one to sate, knot and mate her. The story revolves around Fever's sexual prowess and Leah's inability to resist him. This is my first read in the series and I'm unfamiliar with any element of this story's ploy, the storyline mainly addresses Leah's struggles with the truth about her feelings for Fever, her craving to have Fever to scratch her sexual itch and the need to insure the safety of her mother. This story has served to cement the fact that Omega stories are not for me.
OMG, the start of this book is hilarious. I liked that Leah was kind of no nonesense. She was an Omega who wasn't hising who she was. Even though she was resisting FEVER/Sotay's advances it was not because she was hiding.
Fever ( Sotay ) was ridiculously over the top and I loved it. I truly enjoyed his exchanges with Dreikx. I also love that these huge Alphas are part of a family and enjoy the interaction amongst them.
The storyline is continuing nicely and I can't wait to see who falls next.
Heat level was 🔥🔥🔥1/2 stars. I would recommend for fans of Dirty talking Alien Alphas, sassy heroines, humor and Sci-fi adventure. Also nicely done IR with this series.
I was really looking forward to Fever’s book and I have to say I LOLd a lot in this one. I would have liked more “knotting” (weird I know) hut I feel like this one was a little too light for me.
I love this series! I think Leah and Fever are magical! He's so confidant, his character is completely self-assured, but still, Leah gives him a run for his money. Her mom is also a fun character, conspiring with the guy who is openly stalking her daughter, but it works. The action continues from the previous books with the king of earth and his swarm. It was fun and easy to read and I'm looking forward to the next book to come!
I'd really recommend reading the other books in the series because these stories don't work out that great when read as standalones, although you can still read it. You'd just have to deal with a lot of characters.
I love science fiction romances and alien romances but usually when we are blessed with a Black heroine, we also get a stereotypical one. And only the bad stereotypes. I’m proud to have Leah represent the rest of us Black women waiting on the Hordesmen to tie us up and make us submit!
It took me forever to read this book. I kept dropping it because of... suspense. I just couldn't keep reading it without coming up for air... then I had to restart the book all over again just to make sure I didn't forget what had happened. But it is definitely worth the read.
The King of Earth is still alive and kicking, causing much grief for the Hordesmen who are trying to nab him. But the KoE has a mole who has what it takes to force the gate controls over to his own hands.
Leah, the beloved of Sotoy (aka Fever).
This is slightly different from the usual Hordesman tale which I appreciate. Jacks doesn't mince words nor does she string the reader along. Brownie points in her favor!
Both main characters are a pleasure to read about. Leah isn't pushing away Fever as much as she's trying to protect her mother whose been kidnapped by the KoE. She needs to bond with him then steal his gate control while he's transitioning. That's when the KoE plans to attack the Stronghold and wipe out his opposition.
Continuity is great. I appreciate that we're still seeing characters from the previous books (and books to come). Editing isn't bad, maybe an improvement from the previous books. And as I've read this already twice, I can tell you that I'll probably read it all over again... like doing a Hordesman marathon when I need a read I know that will be good.
Get the series. It's worth it! Can't wait to read the next book in this series!
Well...boo. This is the second Hordesmen in a row that I am not as thrilled with. There were still plenty of funny moments and dialogue in this one—especially when the OG Regha Alphas make an appearance and start causing Dirty Old Men Mayhem—but something was lacking in this. Sotay was...okay, not as intense as I usually expect these guys to be. And Leah was just kinda EH. She seemed like she would be feistier based on her appearance in Terror, but she was quite bland and spent most of the book sad and scared. She didn't seem to warm up to Sotay until all of a sudden "I love you." It felt forced and I found it jarring. The conflict in this one would have been really easily fixed if Leah had remembered what we all learned as children when being told about predators: if they tell you they'll hurt your parents, they're full of it and trying to scare you into silence—tell anyway. This already short book could have been wrapped up a lot more quickly.
I'm just being cranky because these are usually my go-to reads when I need a good laugh. I feel like my happy place isn't so much anymore.
Sotay, a Regha Alpha, has been chasing, Leah, his Omega for quite a few books in this series. Although she has advised to submit to him when he comes for her and she knows the Alphas are basically harmless, she refuses to give in quickly or quietly.
Sotay is the best example of genes being passed down from parents. To me he is such a charmer and easy going guy as his father, Vemlox. At the same time he is loyal, dedicated and intelligent like both of his underestimated parents. I did not enjoy his songs, but otherwise he was super sweet. When it comes to dirty talk, he definitely rivals his dad. I gave this novel four stars because I found some editorial issues while reading. One final read through for super small things would have been fine. The glitches did not take away from the story, just made me re-read things a few times to ensure I was understanding the sentence. I did enjoy the family reunion towards the end.
This is a voluntary Advanced Reader Copy review of Fever. OMG, do not read this book in public. Your racing heart and blushes, will be too embarrassing to explain. I love this series, and this book. I really enjoy the creativity this author has, and the ability not just to write a book that totally captivates me, but the ability to write a series with the same amount of naughty and passion that keeps me anxiously awaiting each book in the series. You and yours will be so happy you read this book.
I love this series but this particular book felt rushed. I remember Fever from earlier books but the author didn't really re-introduce him. Same with Leah....I don't think ever really got a feel for her personality. The dinner overlooking the beach scene was weird....and not needed? And Mike....not developed...just dropped in the book. Too many unconnected dots. The swarm male who threatened her...how did he get to her? How did he get the mom? Sorry Milana...it just wasn't enough.
Fever has now become my favorite Hordesmen. He's smart and entertaining with a wicked sense of humor. Although Leah was too foolish and shortsighted to go to anyone (more less the Hordesman) who has sworn to keep her safe and happy when she is being blackmailed by The Swarm, Fever/ Sotay has already figured out something is wrong. All by what she is not doing. Regha males will get the One has to understand that nothing stands between them and their Omega's happiness.
Leah Jenkins has a Hordesman at her door, and she’s not quite ready to let him in. Still, the one known as Fever doesn’t have time to wait.
I like Milana Jacks. She writes good smut, and I can’t say I’m not here for it. I may never read the whole series, but the ones I do I definitely enjoy.
All things considered, it was a solid story. Not to many mistakes, a linear plot, and I can’t say that there were any plot holes. Four stars simply for good editing.
SOOOO some how i skipped past 3 and read fever. Idk how that happened but that said. This catches you up quick.
Super great addition to the series and continuation of the story. Loved loved loved the comedy in this one! Laughed out loud several times! I feel like the sexy time scenes have gotten better as well.
Only complaint. Why oh why does Leah look like some 47 year old housewife on the cover?????
This series is getting meh-er as it goes, I think I'll just stop reading it. This book was just okay, though I felt no bond between the characters, I couldn't connect to the h AT ALL, the kidnapping situation was so cliché it was annoying...and the H promised to do many dirty smutty things to the h, things that we'll never get to read! LIES AND PROMISES! lol Okay more seriously, just ok for me and I think I'll just stop there.
I really have to give this author the credit she's do, because she makes the most " alien" male sound sexy as f**k ! Lol Seriously had me jealous of the heroine. Lol
And I also love the fact that she includes Black women as some of her heroines. Although, I would Really like to see more..... so all in all, I liked this book.
This couple is perfect together. They are definitely destined to be together. I am on pins and needles waiting for the climatic end to the impending war. This book however felt a bit less then what I expected from Milana. The overwhelming lust and love and story development were missing.
I really enjoyed reading about Sotay and Leah. Despite Leah's attempts to keep him arms length, he pursued what he desired with fervor. I especially loved the fact that he wasn't just a muscle bound barbarian but he was intelligent with a heaping helping of bad*ssery. Overall, I loved this book.
I think I say this ever time Ms. Jacks puts out a new book, but Fever was my FAVORITE! Sotay is definitely Vemlox’s son and between him and Leah i was laughing so hard at times that I couldn’t catch my breath. War is on the horizon and I can’t wait to see what’s to come.
I have loved these books! Fever is an absolute kick! He sings. He jokes. But when it comes to Leah he shows he loves her like no other. If you haven't read the other books in this series you need to, the Hordesman rule. And don't forget to read about these Alpha Males father's in the Alpha Horde series, they will not disappoint.
I had a harder time with this book, mainly because of the way certain things are said. This character talks as if she is from England but she seems born and raised in US lives in the states and give no indication that she is not an American. Her mother also seems to talk like she is from the south. The wording throws me off and I couldn’t connect that way.
I love the dynamic (pun intended) between the alpha’s, they are hilarious. The whole scene between vemlox and the others with the feather, priceless! I really enjoyed this couple. How many men/males would put forth the effort to learn to wrap, befriend the women’s mother and be so persistent ! Loved it!
I absolutely loved fever it was very exciting and erotic and funny.I laughed i almost cried it was awsome one of the best story's yet can't wait for the next story.wish I could have have it a 10 stars it was that good. You won't be disappointed with this book
