Roland always loved Rose, but had a funny way of showing it. When circumstances put them under the same roof, can he get her to see their future his way? *** DISCLAIMER: This a prequel to an upcoming book containing unresolved plot points. This series is for mature audiences only. This installment is a novella containing profanity, erotica, and sensitive sexual content. If you do not like explicit sexual content, this book is not for you.
Creating Us is the second book in the Phillips Family series by Honesty Price, but it’s truly the beginning. The story is about the matriarch and patriarch of the Phillips family came to be. This was a lovely story, it was great to see a young Rose and Roland. Rose & Roland are a blessed couple for what they do for the community and they were destined to be together. If you love an enemies to lovers story, this is for you! This book provides great background knowledge about Kevin and his mental health issues and how they run in the family. I’m so excited to read Briana’s book! Honesty this is another hit! 👏
Rose don’t play but Roland was time enough for her. I was nervous that their story would be very old school but it was anything but that. I ain’t never wanted no 1970s loving until I read this book! Haha Honesty, you did it again!
I really enjoyed this novella. Roland honestly really irritated me at first especially when I realized the full extent of everything he’d done in the past to Rose. It was so immature to me that the only possible way for him to show her he liked her was by being an asshole. Like what are we 5?!?!
My only issue with this story is, although I know it was a novella, the story took such an abrupt jump from them starting a relationship to instant family. It left a lot of holes in the story for me. The epilogue was really GOOD. Definitely some twists and turns I did not expect.
Whew! Where do I start?! First off, I love Roland and Rose’s story! She was not having his foolishness until he forced his way in. Then the timeline jumps to all the kids and Kevin, it broke my heart. I tried to contain my tears. Then you just push us into Bri and Ike first meeting then BAM! They doing it! Whew! I’m ready for the next book! ASAP!
This story is about Malcolm’s parents-the hero in Book 1 of the Phillips Family series. This story was cute and definitely an enemies to lovers; my favorite trope! The storyline and the humor will suck you in and will answer some of the questions from Whitney & Malcom’s story in Book 1. Great job! Can’t wait for the next release. ❤️
After meeting the Phillips clan in Back To Us, I jumped at the chance to learn more and was intrigued by the matriarch and patriarch of the family. Really enjoyed their journey as well as the insight into Kevin (who piqued my curiosity in Malcolm’s tale). Also loved the quick snippet of Bri and Ike’s story - hoping to get more on them!
That would sum up Roland and Rose's years long courtship dance! Although Rose probably wouldn't agree! The opposite of hate is love, so it was only a matter of time! This was a heartfelt story, that was driven by emotion...but also romantic and familial love! Can't wait to read the Phillips children's stories!
It was nice introduction to the parents. I appreciated the author for acknowledging mental health issues, particularly in the Black community. I was saddened by what can be assumed happened to Kevin.
The preview for the next book in the series seems like it will be good.

I am really not a fan of how this ended!!! The story itself explained alot. I was happy to get some background on the family. Guess I'm going to Book3 🤔 The behind the scenes on Rose and Roland was amazing.
This book was so good I read it in one setting, dismissing any and all responsibilities. I really enjoy a good enemy to lovers story and it was just enough character development to understand them and their “hatred” to each other. Right when I was getting into it and enjoying the flow of the story it was over 🥺.
I loved this story, the first one was up and down but to read about the mom and dad and how they start was amazing and to get a back story on Kevin was good too
The plot was well developed and the tension built between Roland and Rose at a good pace. I also liked that it was set in the 70’s and moved through time. It was good to see them grow as frenemies and as a couple through those years.
