A truly outstanding mafia romance with dark undertones. It captured my attention & did not let go until the last page was turned. The story-line & plot is suspenseful, well-written & intriguing. The well-developed characters have unique personalities, some of them are inclined to be devious with deadly intentions but continue to develop & ultimately complement each other.
There is: a female prosecutor (Carina) almost at the end of a prominent court case to do with a murderous crime boss (Santana Dioletti aka the slicer) when three powerful men (Ruger, Damien & Aleksandr) take her & then decide to claim her for themselves permanently, a dangerous man (Lucian Masters), corrupt law enforcement, KGB, bounty hunters, mafia, FBI, twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, mystery, secrets, adventure, action, devious plans, abduction, blackmail, danger, threats, enemies, violence, brutality, suspicions, manipulations, defiance, non-consensual scenes, domination/submission, discipline, spanking, humiliation, anguish, trust issues, memories, confrontation, betrayal, discovery, escape attempt, decisions, compromises, love, contentment, steamy scenes & a well-deserved happy ending.

I loved it, I just wish everything wasn’t so summarised, well everything except for the kinky scenes. This book should have been longer. The story is too rushed, and it really doesn’t make sense to have dual pov in a 4-sided relationship. It kind of implies that the other 2 are not as important.

This is the story of Carina and three guys who kidnapped her.
I didnt really care for the story and myself skipping many many pages. I probably skipped 1/3 of the book and missed nothing. I felt the story focused too much on why they kidnapped her and not on the romance. Don't get me wrong I do like the background stories but ladies we are really here for the romance. The storyline wasn't even that great. It was all rambling and inner monologue. Basically only one thing happened the entire book, which was why I could skip so much and not miss anything. I felt like it was just about the sex with no chemistry. Carina was kind of annoying with her nonstop questions. I get it she's a lawyer but shush once in a while. A few parts were confusing. One went something like "I haven't met the other two before this mission." Then Carina goes "I don't understand, explain everything." That's pretty straightforward I don't know what you need to explain further. There were so many sentences that were missing words. I know I have an advance reader copy and that isn't the final edit, but there were too many errors not to mention. I hope it gets fixed.

Hostage is much more than the book i imagined it would be. That was of a girl kidnapped and held hostage by alpha types. So plenty of sex and very little else. Yes there is plenty of sex (and its flaming hot!!!) but apart from that its a damn good story too. A lot of backstories that come together to build the tension as well as the characters. Characters which you dislike initially until their stories slowly emerge and look at them differently. If dominant men aint your thing you might want to bypass this book but i really enjoyed it. A good read

Absolutely hated it. Read to end to see if it made any sense, but no. You won't get your time back if you read this one, please watch paint dry instead.

I loved this steamy reverse harem, mafia read! Carina is prosecuting Santana, a mafia boss and she is taken and punished by three powerful men. Hot read with loads of drama, suspense and lots of steam. The characters are great and the story draws you in from beginning to end. I liked it!

More than a few triggers but still a lot of explosive chemistry
Hostage by Piper Stone looked like it would be a very intriguing story if it lived up to the book description. In some ways it did and in other ways it did not, thus the 3 Stars.
Carina is a prosecutor who ends up kidnapped by three very large Alpha men. Ruger is a former Marine and is now a cop, Aleksandr is former KGB who is haunted by the killings of his wife and daughter and Damien in a bounty hunter. Each man has their own reasons for being pulled into the kidnapping but what they each find is much more than they ever expected, as it was supposed to be an easy job - kidnap Carina, break her down and then train her as a submissive. But she is stronger than any of them think and she fights them the entire time.
There are some triggers in this book as this is very dubious consent not only with the kidnapping and domination but also the sex was forced in the beginning. But once Carina gives in to the three in the bedroom then things turn really interesting in this RH story. From my POV the story would have been better there was more consent as it made me uncomfortable as it is written. I also found that Carina's character was a bit annoying with the amount of idiotic "probing" questions she continued to ask. The story ended up being long for me and I did skim some of the book without feeling like I missed anything. I would still recommend Hostage to anyone that likes Piper Stone books but I don't think this is the author's best book.

Had potential to be good, but fell short!
This book wasn't for me. It had a ton of potential to be a good book & there were good bits but ultimately it fell short in so many ways & just never really got off the ground.
It's a pity because I really liked the sound of the a mafia, dark sexy, dom/sub, reverse harem themed novel, but even the dark steamy sex scenes just didn't feel... well, dark, steamy or sexy, it was just all a bit emotionless.
Another problem was that there was no plot pacing & the characters felt like they were just plonked into the story, they were not fleshed out, making the unrelatable, which failed to define their personalities & made them feel generic.
The emotional responses of the characters didn't really match what was happening to them at times. They lacked the terror & true fear that would be the expected emotions of someone who is being threatened or kidnapped or blackmailed.
There is no real explanation of... Who the characters really are? What their true feelings are? or What their personalities are like behind the masks they hide behind?
There were also a of plot holes/area's of the plot that weren't adequately explained.
I like to be so emersed in a book & the characters that I can't put it down. Unfortunately, this book was the sort you keep reading in the hopes it will get better, but never does.
Ultimately, I liked the concept, it had potential to be good, but it just fell flat.

Fantastic dark romance between district attorney Carina and the three men who kidnap her after she prosecutes Santana, a notorious Mafia boss. Ruger, an undercover cop, has loved Carina since they were teens. Damien was Ruger’s best friend back then also, but he is now a bounty hunter. Aleks is rogue KGB. The kidnapping was set up by the evil Lucian Masters, who threatened to kill Ruger’s sister if they didn’t cooperate. Carina is to be totally broken by the three. Also in this twisted plot is The Raven, head of a trust of powerful men gone bad. As the story progresses, more questions arise as to why Carina was kidnapped and how this will end. The men come to the conclusion that they are all being played and soon the kidnapped becomes the protected. Carina finds herself both totally dominated and in love with them. The chase is on as they try to stay one step ahead of the bad guys while trying to determine just who the bad and good guys are. Well-written, suspense-filled plot. Hot, steamy, sexy - a book you’ll want to read from start to finish without stopping. Another great Piper Stone book!

Fast pacing action packed.
This is a very fast paced full of action story that keeps you guessing. There are so many twists and turns that you really need to concentrate at times.
Prosecutor Carina has just finished putting her case against one of the worse murderers and now waiting for the jury to come back. She has the weekend to wait it out. She is home trying to wind down when she is taken my a man that explains what is going to happen. He demands something from her something she doesn't thinks she wants to give him. She quickly learns there are three of these men when she is put in a van and driven for hours and hours.
Its like these three men dont like each other but as the days pass they quickly realise there is something bigger going on and they need to protect Carina.
This is a super hot read that has a great storyline

Our heroine is taken after testifying against a very bad man. They are going to break her and make her theirs. But is anything really that simple?
This is a dark romance story, something which this author is rather good at. I found the story to be well written and rather intense, with lots of twists and turns to the plot which kept me wondering where things were going. All throughout we are treated to multiple steamy scenes in different combinations. I found the characters to be fairly well developed, although the guys could have had a bit more depth and our heroine could have had a bit less "lawyer" in her, always questioning everything even when she knows it isn't going to get her anywhere. Beyond that minor quibble, I found that I rather enjoyed the story and look forward to more from this author.

This book was so intense, the characters both good and bad involved in a twisted plan to pervert justice, with organised crime and and an international crime Kingpin, all involved in a twisted revenge that left me shocked. Entwined in this, is the story of young love revisited, and dark and erotic sex scenes with multiple players. I could not put this book down, the twisted drama behind the scenes keeping me guessing far into the night. The suspense drew me in and the characters amazed me. This book is one you will have to read, a book that will enthrall you, captivate you with its complex web of underground crime, and tantalized you with it's hidden dangers.

I won this book in a giveaway and I was ready for it, or so I thought. As I was listening to this book I was reminded of a phrase made in a book I previously read, topping from the bottom. I know nothing about a dom and sub relationship but the way that she was continually allowed to voice her demands and opinions didn't fit what they claimed they were supposed to be doing. I understand they were all being forced at first but later, after the situationchanges, it seemed like they were still trying to continue treating her like a sub but none of them had a clue how to go about it and didn't want to admit they didn't know. I feel like the story should have either gone a different way or the dom/ sub relationship should have been developed better.
Outside of that I loved the story. Thomas Locklear did an awesome job bringing the characters to life.

I’m only reviewing my perspective in regards to the audiobook... but I’m being generous in this review by giving three stars.
It’s hard to describe, but... you ever meet a guy that has such a deep baritone of a voice that even when they try to give a genuine effort of a female voice, it sounds like a the heterosexual homecoming king quarterback kind of guy wearing heels and a wig trying to make their undercover cop gig work? That’s what happened. 🤦♀️
I’m SO sorry, Thomas Locklear... you’re not the type of voice actor to be reading for a “kidnapped woman having multiple orgasms” character... meaning your voice is WAY too masculine and deep to pull off the “sexy minx woman” voice.
Whomever made that decision really missed out on an opportunity... bc his “I’m gonna give you pleasure” sexy grumble thing for the three main male characters... yummy!! 🤤

They maybe Alpha hot enforcers but I am pretty certain they are the hostages after they get to the safe house... they certainly are all working for her. It does start out somewhat forced on her but once she realizes they turn her on it pretty quickly becomes her show. There was only one thing I wish had been cleared up... she was going to Tell Roguer something right before the shots started and the Raven/Master revealed himself... I wish there had been a paragraph of them asking her and her telling them what she was gonna say... But this is an excellent dark reverse Harem... make no mistake she does get abducted and forced into submission to the Alphas. She just learns she actually gets aroused by them too... which is why she gives them her submission at all.

Carina is a prosecutor that is trying to put a very bad man behind bars. This monster of a man is no other than Santana Dioletti mafia crime boss. He thinks that he owns Carina.While in the court room Santana writes down MINE on a piece of paper for only Carina to see. Which shacks Carina up until she gets home. When Carina thinks that she is safe behind her closed door does she start to unwind from the day. Until she hears a noise outside her bedroom. Carina is trying to find a way out of the situation that she is now in. She's been spanked, humiliated and fights to surrender and then kidnapped by three men. I enjoyed reading this book. Ok but
Too much like a who dunnit. Way too much repetitiveness. Going over and over the background of each person. Everything that happened would then follow with pages and pages of one of them over thinking it all. I could skim over paragraphs and still not miss a thing.
Lots of spanking, again and again. Lots of sex. Starts off non consensual which may trigger but she soon turns into a sex starved nympho within the turn of a page.
Overall the story was ok, readable and partly enjoyable. No depth to their emotions.
Even with the non consensual scene she was still all wet and needy so I don’t agree that this is dark at all.

I love reverse harem and this one had the added joy of spanking and dominance.
Dark and seductive that turns into protective, possessive and alpha not just once, but 3 times over!
The males were all formed and distinct characters, each bringing something different to the group relationship as a whole.
The last act felt a little rushed, I would have liked it to last a little longer and give me some more detail leading into the climax of the plot.
I listened to the audio book and have to say the narration by Thomas Locklear was on point. The man has got an amazing range. From sexy growly alpha males (one with a Russian accent) to a female voice sustained as POV for half the story (or more). The female vocal performance was never strained or forced sounding. And because all voices were from one narrator it was like a full cast in my ears, consistent and easy to lose myself in the story. It was a real treat.

Erotic!💜
This story has some very erotic and steamy scenes, and the storyline grabbed me in the beginning but then for me it didn’t really go anywhere. The sex was great, but I would have preferred more storyline.
I will say there was a plot twist I didn’t see coming so that was intriguing.
Thomas Locklear is a relatively new to me narrator but he has a great voice and did a fantastic job on all the different characters, particularly the female voice. I’m looking forward to hearing more of his work.

Hostage
Wow, this book is amazing. I must say it me awhile to get into the mind set. This book is full of twists up until the very end. Actually it was quite a shocker to be honest. In read this I discovered that the characters have been made for each other. They all have lost loved ones and trust no one, but together they start to build a relationship based on trust. That really is what have kept me so drawn to this storyline. I love how perceptive they were at reading each other. Most of all, I love how the lines of communication opened up between the characters.

Great read and very naughty!
This is exactly what I always expect and receive from Piper Stones books! A suspense filled story with a strong Heroine that falls in love with her abductors! Hot alpha males with a lot of baggage but have equally great qualities. She writes extremely well and her reverse harem books have very hot sexual scenes that make these books page turners...I'm a big fan of her style of writing and will continue to enjoy her books! Her endings usually have a twist I don't see coming so read her books and enjoy!

This story had me so sucked in that I forgot the time! LOL There were twists and turns that were unexpected but it made the story much more interesting!!! The guys were hot and the bad guy......he was one evil dude. Or at least I thought so until another one showed up!! Dang!!!!! This book was awesome but if you don't like reverse harem, power exchange, or dark stuff, you should just pass this one up!

These dark Mafia romances by PS have a more intriguing plot and dynamic character component than her other books. The storyline is more complex and engrossing (sometimes it's a little too overwhelming) with each book. There is still the dominance and darker themes that are usually associated with her books and but you will find a more serious and longer plot line in this book

What a fantastic book! There are plenty of twists and turns in this plot that is filled with suspense and steam. It’s dark so if you have triggers then read the blurb and consider if this is for you. I personally loved every second of this story. It’s a page-turner as it drew me in to the story from the get-go. Loved the characters and they are so well described and have depth to them.
