About the author
Mike Faricy
142 books246 followersI was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, I still live there as well as in Dublin, Ireland. I've been a soldier, freelance journalist, tended bar, sold designer cakes, owned a painting and decorating company along with a number of other schemes and scams. If that doesn't offend you I also play bagpipes with the Brian Boru Irish Pipe Band. All my books stand alone, read them in whatever order you wish. They are filled with the sort of oddballs we are all curious about, but wisely, prefer to keep at a distance. None of my characters will be saving the world from terrorism, international banking conspiracies or coups to take over the government. Rather, they inhabit a world just below the surface of polite society, characters with one foot on either side of the law. The circumstances they find themselves in are usually due to bad decisions, but bad decisions lead to interesting stories. They serve not so much as an example but as a warning to us all. Thanks for taking the time, happy reading.

Some reasons why Dev Haskell fans look forward to each new release;
1. They are always entertaining.
2. They always contain humor.
3. The mysteries that Dev works on are always involved. Nothing 2nd rate about those.
4. Morton
On the off chance that this is your first Dev Haskell book, He is a P.I. in St. Paul, Mn. He has had some really interesting cases over the years. In this one a well known artist goes missing. His wife hires Dev to investigate. Not only were they friends in school, but she was a beauty queen many times over. For some reason, she waited for months to report it. In the course of the investigation, Dev discovers that 3 other artists have disappeared as well. Fun read.

Art Attack by Mike Faricy (Guest From Hell) provides all the necessary ingredients to produce another entertaining and absorbing P.I. story featuring Devlin Haskell, his dog Morton, Louie the lawyer and a plethora of down and outers. Dev has been asked to investigate the disappearance of well-known artists in the St. Paul, Minnesota region. Which seems simple enough until bodies start dropping and old girlfriends come calling. Everybody has a motive, including the owner of the gallery where at least one of the artists showed their work.
Faricy writes with the assurance of a veteran writer who knows how to keep the reader asking for more. Judging from Dev’s curiosity and propensity for trouble there is no doubt that we will have many more compelling adventures with Dev and his supporting cast.

When it comes to beautiful women, Devlin Haskell always ends up in trouble. This time, it's the beauty queen high school sweetheart. She begs him to find her missing husband. He's only been missing for six months or so. Louie Laufen, Dev's lawyer and office mate, tries to warn him off, but the face and figure win over common sense. Haskell discovers there is more than just one missing artist in Minnesota.
ART ATTACK is filled with the laugh out loud humor I've come to expect from the series alongside some serious crime. I've been reading Dev Haskell - Private Investigator in order starting with the first book. In this way I've come to know a certain cast of characters and been able to watch a subtle change in Dev himself. Each book seems a little better than the last, and they allow me to escape the crazy world that is the twenty-first century.

Excellent book can't put down suspense. PI Devlin is approached by his high school girlfriend to find her artist husband who has been missing for six months but hadn't reported to police. Then finds out that another artist is missing for one year. Then a third and finally a fourth artist missing. Only thing in common is the gallery where they displayed and his ex girlfriend who has posed for all of them in different medium in the nude. Artists who've died make their work go up in value. Oh and he gets locked in restaurant freezer (while trying to solve another case)

A beautiful (as usual) and beauty queen and high school girlfriend Kristi comes to Dev and asks him to find her artistic husband who is missing. During his investigation, Dev find several other artists who are also missing. All of them have connections to Kristi. Is she involved in their disappearances? What has happened to them?
I've read most of Mr. Faricy's books, and in my opinion this is one of his best. The plot is very good with some interesting twists, and his infatuation with women in other books is at a minimum in "Art Attack."

Another great Dev Haskell mystery. I've read all of them, and this may be my favorite. Dev is in more extreme danger in this one, and narrowly avoids being both frozen and roasted to death. Also he has even more sexual misadventures than usual. Faricy always manages to introduce much more humor than most mystery writers, and he finishes this story with a big twist. Really entertaining from start to finish.

Dev Haskell
In this book in the series, Dev is hired by an old high school girlfriend to find her missing artist husband. In the course of his investigation, Dev discovers ther8e are three other artists missing also. How he makes progress in the case of the Missing artists and works another case for a restaurant, while also being stalked makes for a great read. I was totally surprised by the ending. A great addition to the series.

This was a very interesting book by Mike. I liked how it all played output then of course Dev never got the chance to actually get in bed with any of the woman, which I thought was pretty funny. All in all was another good read by Mike. I have enjoyed every book in the series so far and looking forward to the rest of the series.

It's Dev Haskell again, along with Morton, the amazing dog. And the usual cast of characters.
Although a thong is mentioned, amazingly, Morton doesn't eat it.
As always, the book is funny, fast paced, and makes sense only to those who appreciate the quirky.
After 20 other reviews, give or take, all I can say is if you haven't already, read them all!

Entertaining P.I. Mystery
This is the first book by this author that I have read. I enjoyed the straight-forward way it is written and the kind of fun, kind of quirky characters. The mystery has twists and it is a fairly fast read. I will read more by this author.

Wonderful as always
Love it, just like anything else I have read by Mike Faricy. Highly recommend. Trying to collect everything he has written, and read them all too. Get it, read it, and enjoy it too.

Good story
Dev is hired to find out what happened to Kristi's husband who disappeared over 6 months ago. An old nemesis comes back into his life. He really needs to stop thinking about bedding any woman he's with. Good characters and story.

Good police thriller
This story kept you guessing until the end. The main character Dev seems kind of a scatter brain and a little mousey to be a detective. But then again that's what makes him so lovable. I've read many Haskell books and can't wait to read more.

There are only a handful of "detective" type mysteries I enjoy reading when nothing else will do. Dev Haskell books are one of my go-to reads - entertaining, satisfying, they're just fun reads.

Fabulous
I loved this book. Once again Dev is shoved into the world of culture. Will the Art world survive? Only time will tell.
