Rate this book

Josh Marshall is on trial for his life, but he doesn’t care. He has already lost more than he can bear, his brother, Ben. With no identification and no will to live, even his name he will not reveal. The secret that might free him is locked in his impenetrable will. He can imagine no greater sin than killing another man, and he will do anything to protect everyone he loves from the shame he has heaped on his family name. Chains and bars or lethal injection will not dislodge his awful truth.

A new love enters Josh’s life. A young clinical psychologist, Sarah begins to unravel Josh’s tormented past and gives him a reason to live one more day. If only she can convince him that the future is still worth living. If only she can persuade him to fight for himself, because he is her future.

Great story idea, but hard to read

Wonderful story of a young man who is willing to sacrifice everything, including his life, his freedom, and his reputation to do the right thing. It’s a story where love triumphs over hate and revenge, where truth and justice prevail. But it needs a good edit or two. And the back and forth in time and place were often confusing. Cryfest

This is a wonderfully poignantly written story about love in its purist form. I cried through the entire reading heck characters in the book cried. So keep your tissues close. Despite all the crying the book is totally employable. Read it, enjoy it and be transported to believe in fairytales of the best sort.

What a wonderful story! You go through a roller coaster of emotions. I wanted to read a couple of chapters per night, before bed. I caught myself thinking, "just one more chapter." That one more chapter would turn into many more. It was hard to put down. I hope this writer continues writing, with heart and soul, like he did with this book.

I was happy to find this to be a sort of a spinoff to He Never Forgot How to Love. The love and compassion for family is so strong, It draws you in. As with the last book I read it with a box of tissues!
