Outbreak - Week 1

Presidents, pime ministers, entire governments disappeared instantly, like a fragile house of cards in a hurricane. Some hid deep underground or holed up in fortified strongholds, but most were swallowed up by the dead, never to be heard from again.

Having lost both parents just weeks apart—one to Omega, the other to a brutal beating inflicted by Chinese PLA soldiers—twelve-year-old Raven Grayson finds herself in the nation’s new capital, battling loneliness and crushing depression, all while trying to find her place among her fellow transplanted Eden survivors.

Stumbling across a seemingly senseless act of destruction wrought on something near and dear to her, Raven follows the trail of clues left behind. A trail whose terminus offers up a revelation that suggests the life of a Very Important Person may hang in the balance.

With a litany of new laws to navigate, and an indifferent Chief of Police standing in her way, if Raven is to bring the perpetrators to justice she must dig deep and apply every skill she has learned in the crucible that is the Zombie Apocalypse.

What should she do with the evidence she uncovers?

Will she adapt and improvise when one pulled string starts everything to unravel, heaping upon her more trouble than she can handle alone?

Or will the training she has received since the dead began to walk be insufficient for her to overcome all that the infamous Mr. Murphy has in store for her?

Come along and find out how our transplanted survivors fare in their new HOME away from home!

I really wished I had loved it, I am a super fan. I just felt it was just gun porn and it was constant. You know when you are the real deal and you are sitting next to the guy who peeled potatoes in the army using bits of speech he has overheard he sprinkles it around as if he is the real deal, and you just want to facepalm. THAT is how it comes across :(

I am not giving up on these books, but 10% character stories 10% action and 80% gun vehicle descriptions and how to use them, no not using them, that is 2 pages but it takes 8 pages to describe how it works loading it checking *yawn*

Some may think when a series has reached book 14 that it would be been there, done that and you would be wrong. Every book in this series is a character driven, compelling, emotionally charged ride. The action keeps going as the group are still fighting for survival, suffering losses but never giving up. Shawn Chesser writes powerful stories and I highly recommend the whole Surviving The Apocalypse series if you love the zombie genre or just a flawless tale.

Worth the wait for some needed closure.

A book that keeps you interested with detailed action and a good story line. Shawn Chesser can tell a stoy with interesting characters and attention to detail. I would recomend this series to anyone. I moved from Tigard, OR 4 years ago and he brings back memories of the Portland area with his detail of stores, bridges and roads. Thank you for this great series.

Outstanding

Once again Mr. Chesser has outdone himself. I had to go back and re-read the book before this one because my memory sucks. It wasn't a chore at all to re-read that book. It e
Was a masterpiece and I enjoyed the neck out of it and then got to continue this next one like I was reading the series back to back. Still the best Zombie apocalypse series with tight action and great characters. Just need some sex Shswn.

Wow, I have really enjoyed this latest book by Shawn Chesser and it didn't make me cry. If I ever need a partner in a bad situation, I want someone on my side like Raven Grayson! What a little harass she is. The story goes back into Oregon to Cade Grayson's hometown. I won't say anymore because I don't want to give things away. Just know that if you have read any of Shawn's books, then you don't want to miss this one.

After 14 books in this great series each new installment is like visiting old friends. The characters are endearing to the reader and each have their own unique quirks and personalities. Home does not disappoint. As all the books in this series the story grabs you from the onset and keeps you turning pages. I highly recommend this book as well as the entire series. It has been a great ride throughout this series of books.

Another fantastic addition to the Surviving series

Great job! This book (like all the others) sucks u in and holds you throughout the story. I have a really hard time reading Chesser’s books. I’ve gone to bed late, missed appointments, and risked the wrath of my long suffering wife. But, the worst feeling is when I finish and have to wait patiently for the next installment. So for the sake of my marriage and beauty sleep, please hurry! 😁

Wow, what a great read. Full of action, suspense and unpredictable turns chapter after chapter just keeps leaving me wanting more. I like the fact that Raven gets a nice part of the action in this book and that a lot is explained in this book after the previous one. I highly recommend this book as well as all of Shawn Chesser’s books as they are extremely well written, highly interesting and entertaining. I Cannot wait to see what happens next.

I almost stopped reading this series after Brook died - glad I didn't

Great series!! The story is falling in place now, with the main characters doing their thing (while still living - love it!). I'm just a "softie" at heart, and want my main characters to live (still mad about Brook - that was totally unnecessary). Still, it's Shawn's book, so it's his write. Read it you want to know more details - I did, now it's yours to read.

You did it again Shawn, great book.

You did it again. Just drew the reader right in there. There was just a little something different about this one from the others. A softness or showing of feelings a little more. Anyway, can’t wait for the next one in 2020

Outstanding book

I really don't know who my fav character is but I'm leaning toward Duncan. Maybe because he's old like me. This book is very exciting to read. You will not be disappointed with this one. Can't wait for the next one.

The series that just keeps getting better and better. Doesn't show any signs of getting old or slowing down and thoroughly engrossing from start to finish. Keep writing and I'll keep reading! A great book and many thanks Shawn 👍

Another great read but we wouldn't expect anything less. Eagerly awaiting the next one in the series. Liked the touch at the end. Wouldn't it be nice if our world was that thoughtful now and moreover allowed to be

Never a dull moment

As always one of the best authors in this genre. I hated finishing this book as now I have to wait for the next installment.

You need to read Shawn’s series of books and get hooked if you haven’t already done.

Another hit

The worse thing about this book is it had to end. I'm never ready for his books to end because now I have to wait impatiently for the next book.

14 books in and still great! I love the evolution of Raven! She is a kid trapped in a dangerous world and has a total chip on her shoulder, she is the best blend of both her mother and father! The heartbreak I was having from the last book carried over as I watch young Raven do her thing! In a world that is somehow safer and not safe at the same time!
