This is the story of Kyle. A findom (Dominant male) who is in charge and controls with humiliation other submissive men. This fetish is all about Financial domination where the dominant man controls the sub and takes his money in return of humiliation, sexual and verbal abuse that the sub finds extremely arousing. Kyle is the narrator of the story so everything is told from his own perspective, how he uses this submissive guy called Hugo, how he breaks his limits, and his reluctance in order to reach a deeper level of satisfaction and arousal for both of them. Usually, in BDSM erotica the stories are narrated from the sub's perspective but here it was really interesting to see the dominant man narrating the story and to understand his inner thoughts.
Hadrian Temple has written a great tale of submission, lust, and ownership. The main two characters have strong turbulent chemistry going between them. They both knew what they needed from each other, they respected each other's limits, yet they were unaware of what might happen next or how the other man will react to a certain thing. What I like about Kyle other than being an ethical findom is that he was honest, genuine, and knew where to push harder and when to back off. He was not a superman or anything, the author has given him all the natural human characteristics including fear. Yes, the fear if he pushed too much in something or other. That is how he felt very real to me. So kudos to the author for creating a really believable and attractive character like that. I also liked reading the author's notes at the end of the book explaining about findom kink and how it is basically an exchange of power and control by using money as the vehicle. Hard Drain has all the ingredients required to make a hot read full of both lust and information with a great set of characters. I feel it will appeal to anybody whether he is into findom or not. An excellent read that should not be missed.
