Alpha Marked #4

Mate Hunted

Rate this book
Thirty and single? Well, getcha butt to the Gathering! Wait... What?

Rebecca Twynham hates nature, loves a juicy steak, is not Marked, and thinks wolves come in one form: on four feet and with fur. So when she’s hauled to the annual werewolf Gathering by this scary as hell magical vortex, she’s pretty surprised to find out werewolves are real. With that new knowledge, she finds she still hates nature, she’d love a juicy steak, and maybe—she might be—Marked. Well, she doesn’t see a Mark, but she also has heavy scarring from a childhood accident—or was it intentional? Plus, she really wants to climb the gorgeous Alpha Pair, Aidan and Carson, like a tree. Luckily the two hot werewolves wanna sink their roots into her flower and… The nature analogies have gone too far.

Aidan and Carson have been a strong Alpha Pair for fourteen years. They’re tied together by their bond, and ache to claim a woman as their own. But while Carson has always been the GQ ladies’ man, Aidan has been the afterthought—the heavily scarred and frightening werewolf who’s caused more than one woman to faint.

When they find Rebecca hiding in the Bad Doggie ballroom, they rejoice that they’ve finally found the one for them. Except with curvaceous, delicious Rebecca, their roles are reversed. Instead of rushing into the arms of sleek and sexy Carson, Rebecca clings to Aidan. Carson should rejoice in her acceptance of Aidan, but jealousy rears its ugly head, destroying their triad before it has a moment to form.

Then things go from jealousy-driven bad to worse when the five families decide there won’t be any more Wickhams joining the wolfy family trees.

Oh, right, she forgot that part. Apparently her Wickham cousins are kind of a big deal in werewolf land. Big.

I really love this series just as a quick get my panties soaked menage series but I found with this one I just didn't feel it. But I think that was more to do with the fact I was so tired I didn't want to start anything longer but I wanted to read so I forced the issue and now wish I had waited for when I had a few hours spare with the husband available after I finished it rather than read it as I passed out after a killer weekend.

So if you like this series dont be put off by my 3 star rating as it wasnt bad and I did enjoy it just not enough to give it a four today. Maybe when I reread it.

Wonderful Book

I am so happy the author is continuing this series. I love it. I dropped the book I had in process to start reading this one. I read it in one sitting. The book had everything I look for, an interesting plot, fascinating characters, angst, love, sex, humor, and characters from the prior books (I love them). Also the book touches on characters that will be in future books. And the book hints at where the plot in the next book is headed. Cannot wait.

Rebecca Twynham did not believe the stories about things that go bump in the night, aliens maybe, but everything else no way. When she gets transplanted into a place she doesn't recognize and into the arms of a handsome man, she knows something is about to shift.

Aidan never thought he would find a mate, now he is holding her in his arms. His Alpha pair Carson is just as eager to claim their mate but their beautiful mate seems to think she doesn't carry the mate mark and is still questioning her sanity. When the truth comes out about a few different things, their triad will be questioned and they will need to decide if they can forgive one another.

This was filled with humor and had a slightly different storyline I have not read in Celia Kyle's books before. Read it in one setting, as usual another wonderful read from Celia Kyle.

Rebecca, Carson, and Aiden are great together, - (If they avoid the shrews, Scarlet, Gabriella, and Whitney). This is the "Cousins" stories. Rebecca has ignored the invitations to the "Gathering". She is magically transported. Alphas Carson and Aiden know she belongs to them immediately. Poor Rebecca is clueless, this new world of "weres" and magic and mates is overwhelming. She and the guys argue, there are issues
and Carson walks out. She is kidnapped from their room and Carson saves her. The threesome has some talks, and hot sexy mating, and HEA. There are new mysteries afoot and next is Lorelei. Very hot sex and romance also make these worthwhile. ENJOY !!!

Great read if...you like PNR, short reads, sexy reads, MFM (as in no man on man touching), humor, insta love and an HEA.

Side Note: This continuation was great! I liked the different dynamics presented here. I liked that there was a couple that finally really went through a small stint of jealousy. That makes it more real to me. It brings to life the human side of these creatures. This book like all the others packed a punch of humor and drama and I couldn't wait to get to the next book.

Cousin to the three sisters, she is transported to the Gathering. She doesn't even know werewolves exist. One of her mates smells her and protects her. She is kidnapped by the rogues, who think humans water down the wolf gene pool. Her other mate saves her

Oh how I LOVE these triads w/ the Wickham/Twynham girls!

Yet again Celia Kyle made my reader's heart happy with this 4th installment of the ALPHA MARKED series. Our heroine in this book is Rebecca, who is completely oblivious as to even the existence of werewolves much less the destiny that lies before her as a "marked" female. This is even more complicated by 2 things: 1) she has know mark & 2)although their families have been estranged for years, she is the cousin of the infamous Wickham triplets. Through no doing of her own, Rebecca ends up @ "The Gathering" & quickly feels the pull of her mates as they feel her, but without a mark, no one knows what is to be made of the situation. When trials with her mates' relationship that existed long before her are brought to the surface, tragedy almost steals their HEA before they have a chance to work things out a move on as a triad.
So many twists & turns come throughout this story, I was totally not prepared for all of the revelations made in the last 1/4 of the novella. I thoroughly enjoyed each of the Wickham sisters' stories preceding this one, & Ms Kyle did not fail to deliver another, as well as set us up for the next group of Wickham/Twynham obstacles that they will need to come together and face. The heroes in this story are unlike the Alphas in any of the other books, yet just as endearing, not to mention sexy as all get out when the get all wolfy-protective over their mate.
Of course the glimpses of characters we love from the first 3 books popping in & out of this story, with their same insane banter & quirky sense of humor (which apparently runs in the family), makes me heart-happy. I love seeing my loved characters living on & thriving in their new positions.
I loved how this story showed how insecurity can have absolutely nothing to do with how beautiful you are & scars on the outside do not change the beauty of the soul on the inside. I cannot wait to read more about the rest of the "clan" & meet some more of those to-die-for Alpha pairs. This book def deserves the 5 stars when the only complaint I have is that it keep going on forever. :)
Looking forward to the next books! Kudos Ms Kyle & I hope to hear more about my girls soon!

Stars: 3.5

Overall: Rebecca is out hiking with her set up date and she is exhausted and when she gets to the top to have lunch with her date a letter appears and than BAM black hole and she is transported to a hotel in a women's bathroom. When she comes to a woman is already in there and than another in wolf form comes in and changes into a human and she freaks and runs. Aidan is just standing in the lobby waiting on Carson, when he gets a whiff of a scent and starts to follow it, when he finally catches up to the scent he realizes it is the woman he and Carson are suppose to mate with, but before they can really talk to her she passes out. After this point Rebecca knowledge that werewolves are real and she makes it a point to show that she cares about Aidan no matter what he looks like. Carson fucks up and it takes something big to happen for him to wake up and realize the truth of the situation and do whatever he can to make it right. In the end they get their HEA and we learn that Rebecca still has two sisters out there that are at the party and could be in the hands of the bad guys.

Pros: I really like how Rebecca and Aidan connected right from the beginning. It was sweet and romantic that they were both willing to except each other as they were and not what their bodies looked like. I also really liked the part when Carson finally got his head out of his ass and fought for what he wanted. My favorite part was when Rebecca woke up after thier night of squishy sex and Aidan had a tight hold on her and Carson was snuggle to her right kind of like a child.

Cons: I personally didn't have any cons with this story , expect for the fact that I wish it was a little longer, with better details about the main characters.

Celia Kyle has always been a go to author for me, I just love her books. The women of Alpha marked are so easy to identify with. From how they see themselves, the body and their personality. The bevy of characters you will find something that reaches out to you, though unbelievable shifters maybe, the write makes the characters believable.
The length, the concept yep loved it all, its not a stand alone so you will need to start with the first in the series Scarlett. But you will love it and each one after.
The Gathering is for 30 year old “marked” human women to find their mates. Usually they are in a pair either rulers and or now Wardens. Each set of males are alpha’s personified. The women usually know but their is a bigger chance they haven’t a clue, Rebecca is out in the wilderness on a date... When she gets “pulled” to the gathering. Oh and one of her mates is hot on her tail.
Rebecca is sure she has no mark. But is willing to hang out with the very large wolves claiming to be hers. As we know jealousy is a very hard emotion to deal with and can make one do and or say stupid things. Also when you have a large amount of people and one tries to institute new changes...well lets just say not everyone is happy. As family and friends gather its also a place for catching up, and clearing the air. And some serious bonking as Scarlett so cleverly puts it.
Wonderful story with some hot scenes, with old characters from previous books. I can’t wait to read the next installment of Alpha Marked. Consider this and all of the books recommended. Enjoy

~ 4.5 Rebecca Stars ~

I am happy to see CKyle come back to her Alpha Marked series. I really enjoyed the first three books and was hoping for more and well here it is. Rebecca is book four in the Alpha Marked series by Celia Kyle.

Rebecca is marked, but she does not know this and soon learns about why she is at The Gathering. Aidan and Carson are two very hot alpha werewolves and they have a job cut out for them in convincing Rebecca she is theirs.

All the books in the Alpha Marked are short novellas. Rebecca has an interesting plot that continues from the other books in the series, so best to read them too. The characters are appealing with some anguish, humor, sex and love. I like the werewolf dynamics and society in this series. Its a little different. CKyle also gives you a touch of the characters too come and where the plot is going.

If you are looking for a nice quick sexy ménage to read, I recommend picking up the Alpha Marked series. CKyle gives you everything you need and ties it all up in a sexy bow.

Yeah, I am super excited to see more of this series!! This book picks up at the next gathering, where threads that were left loose from the beginning of the series are being picked up. Again we have delicious Alpha pairs finding their mate. There is a bit of intrigue, because she does not appear to have a mark. But really the super lusty thoughts never lie.

I really liked Rebecca, for the most part, she does have a couple self doubt moments. Mostly she is very confident and sassy. She is more than woman enough to handle tall dark and scared Aidan, and moody pretty boy Carson. They have a little drama to get over, but hey that is relationships.

Loads of hot and steamy action!! Cause it is a mating after all!! Oh lordy, better hold onto your panties, or leave them off all together! Definitely a smexy menage!

We get to catch up with the Wickham gals, all mated up and blissfully happy. Scarlet is beginning to act a bit like another Alpha female we know from Ms Kyle's writing. Not sure how I feel about that. While I enjoy the sarcasm, I would like her to have her own Alpha identity, perhaps not as flighty as Maya.

I can not wait to meet Rebecca's sisters and find out what fate has in store for them! And I am eager to hear more about this new threat!

Going by my expectations for an erotic romance novella, REBECCA was wonderful. I found the heroine hilarious, if a bit over the top with her crazy inner dialogue. During the opening scene we see Rebecca on a doomed date with a too-happy vegetarian hiker and get a peek at some of the nuances of online dating. It takes a lot to make me laugh out loud while reading a book but this scene managed it and then some.

I also liked the juxtaposition of the two heroes. The fact that the "pretty one" was the dickhead and the scarred one gentle and sensitive gave the two characters great depth and likability. They made mistakes, denied those mistakes for a short while then ultimately owned up to them and made amends. I appreciated the bouts of jealousy each hero experienced. Their feelings of jealousy made their characters more real to me in this menage setting.

The cover is excellent. Hot but not too embarrassing if someone catches me reading the book. I found more than a handful of editing errors in the text which is why the rating for REBECCA is a 4 instead of 5. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

I really enjoyed Rebecca the fourth story in Celia Kyle’s Alpha Marked series. While Rebecca was a strong female, I truly adored Aiden. He was such a strong male character who wore his wolf close to the surface and was a survivor. I loved that Rebecca saw the heart of this man who was usually defined by his visible scarring. Having said that Ms. Kyle’s development of Carson made this story something much deeper and meaningful. Carson met and bonded with Aiden when he was young and struggling with a violent past. It defined their relationship in ways neither male was prepared for or understood until Rebecca came along. I loved how Ms. Kyle stretched the bond between Aiden and Carson almost to the breaking point. I think it added a dimension to this story that took it to another level. I loved that Rebecca was both the catalyst and the glue. It made this story, for me, a richer experience.
Ms. Kyle again wove this story with humor and emotion that felt real and believable. It was well written and thoroughly enjoyable. I am looking forward to seeing what Ms. Kyle has in store for Rebecca’s sisters.

I received this book from the author in return for a fair and honest review.

Rebecca is a cousin to the Wickham sisters and as such has the same quirky sense of humour that had me laughing out loud in the previous three books. Her internal monologue during the hike at the beginning had me laughing straight away whilst also agreeing with her opinions.

This book had a serious side though and that was the relationship between Carson and Aiden. They have some intense s**t to work through before they can both be the mates that Rebecca deserves and although you are drawn into their story, there is still a part of you that hopes beyond all hope that it will be okay. Celia Kyle always delivers a HEA, right?! Well, you certainly hope so as you read this.

This really is a wonderful series and I can't wait to read more. The Twynham Sisters sound just as much fun as the Wickham Sisters are - even if they have had more of a 'fun' past. Highly recommended!

Rebecca Twynham is on a bad date when she is hauled to the annual werewolf Gathering by reading the last line in the last letter she has received about said Gathering. Aiden immediately recognizes her as his mate and sets out to claim her. However, as part of an Alpha Pair, she will also be claimed by Carson.

I was needing an escape from my usual romance reads and found this book somehow. I had downloaded a sample and liked it, so I purchased it for $2.99. I was extremely disappointed to find that it was only EIGHTY THREE pages on my e-reader. I have read parts of a serial novel that were longer in length. As I was looking at the author's website, I found it was the fourth in a series of six. It would have been better to combine all six into a boxed set.

But, that said, I did like the book. I just wish it had been longer so there was some character development.

This book is short, fast paced and enjoyable. I read this book in one sitting and wasn’t once bored. This book is book four in the alpha marked series. Rebecca, the heroine is Scarlett, Gabby and Whitney’s cousin. After a bad ‘’accident’’ when she was little, Rebecca didn’t know she had a mark. I liked that it was discovered that she did have one.
I liked Aidan and Carson. I will admit that I was annoyed by Carson’s attitude and jealousy. Despite that, I am glad it worked out the way it did. The chemistry between Carson, Aidan and Rebecca was clear to see.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is a nice read.

The Wickham sisters are back and now their cousin has been dragged in on the action. I love the style of her writing. It's flippant and funny but deals with some serious issues too. Like werewolves sexton time and a belly laugh. Grab this series and get your tena lady on xxxx

Funniest Ménage Stories Ever!

These books are really really funny! The women are strong and snarky and totally kick ass! Plus you get the alpha yumminess of a pair of wolves for each gal. Sure, things get squishy and a bit bloody, plus the amazing magical moments, but it all comes together in an amazing series of standalone books that are very entertaining.

Kyle, Celia; REBECCA [Alpha Marked, #4]
Ebook; genre: {paranormal romance}

General Synopsis:
Unlike their Wickham cousins (Scarlet, Gabriella & Whitney), Rebecca, Lorelei & Paisley Twynham know nothing about The Gathering, of being "Alpha Marked." Heck, Rebecca didn't even know werewolves existed, that is until she opens a cream envelope "inviting" (read spiriting her away) her to said "Gathering". There, she is discovered by Alphas Aidan Hall and Carson Holland, who know she is their mate, the one they have been waiting for. WHAT?! But Rebecca doesn't have an Alpha Mark, and Aidan & Carson are not Wardens, what is going on? Warning: This book does contain M/F/M sex

Characters/fu-bo list:
Lorelei, Lorelei
Paisley, Paisley

Previous Books
Scarlet, Keller & Maddon - Scarlet
Gabriella, Burke & Jack - Gabriella
Whitney, Emmet & Levy - Whitney

Personal Opinion:
I have to be honest, this part of my review was also set for Scarlet, but it has been changed a little here and there, so it's up to you if you would like to read further.

I actually read this book a while ago. I am a big fan of Celia Kyle (to the point where she has her own shelf on my Kindle ✌(-‿-)✌). But here's the thing, I was looking for titles to fill out a reading challenge I am doing and one of the things I looked for was books I have read, but have neglected to review. It's like two birds one stone. Problem was, on goodreads, it listed a number of Celia Kyle's as unread, so I was pretty shocked and decided NOW, I HAD to read these books again & not just for the challenge.

As I mentioned in the general synopsis, this book features a ménage à trois, a romance between M/F/M. I know some readers are hesitant to read this type of book, so that is why I put that under the synopsis, even though I think from the cover alone, it is pretty obvious.

The story itself is very short, and is a very quick read. That being said, I would like to say there is more to the story than just sex, but it should also be noted for the story line to progress, you need to read the remainder of the books in the series, since to be it is one big whole.

As I mentioned in my previous review, I was happy when Ms. Kyle continued the series, allowing us to find out more of what is going on in the "Alpha Marked" world. I'd also like to say while reading the first couple of chapters of this book, I could not stop laughing. So, if you're looking for a funny read, this book, no, this series, is definitely something you should add to you TBR list.

This is the fourth book in the Alpha Marked series. This, and the final 2 books of the series concern the Twynham sisters. They are cousins to the Wickham sisters. Rebecca is the main protagonist of this story. She has no idea she is marked, hell, she doesn’t even know that wolf shifters exist. She was sucked up into a magic vortex and deposited at the gathering. Of course she’s freaked out. As she’s running away, her mates, Aiden and Carson, get a whiff of her and know that she is theirs. The problem is overwhelming her with everything. Scarlett shows up and tries to explain things to her, but she’s confused because she has no mark.

I still think the story’s dialog leaves a lot to be desired. But I gave this book 4 stars because I really liked the storyline. It was a departure from the norm, which made it interesting. Aiden was scarred in a horrific crime when he was young. He’s handsome, if you can see beyond his scars. His alpha partner, Carsen, is a pretty boy, and all the ladies swoon for him. The roles are reversed here, and Carson mistakenly believes that Rebecca prefers Aiden to him and he can’t handle his feelings of jealousy. It comes very close to breaking up their alpha partnership of 14 years. In a way, it does seem like a stupid misunderstanding to be willing to trash a 14 yr relationship, but hey, this is a novella, so we must move quickly here.

I’ve read other ménage or reverse harem stories, but I’ve never read one where jealousy reared its head. Personally, I would think, even with a paranormal population, we would see that happen more, but nope. Aiden’s backstory is heartbreaking. I wish there were more time to develop him and Carson’s history. But it’s hard with such a short, novella type, story length.

Rebecca also has a very interesting story. She doesn’t know she has an alpha mark.

Scarlet is still a mess. I’ve come to truly hate that character. I actually thought I was going to lose interest in this series, but this book recaptured my original interest. I can’t wait to see what happens with Rebecca’s sisters.

A whirlwind of confusion
It’s a new year and a new gathering, but the Wickham sisters have brought back their sass and a few of their cousins ensuring another wild and outrageous experience. I love how the author brought back all of our favorite couples and is slowly bringing in more. She really did a fantastic job with the addition of these two alphas and the way they reacted to their mate and each other. I was never so happy to see a HEA, the three of them really needed it. I’m looking forward to the next book.

Rebecca is a human girl who is cousin of the Wickhams sisters and who doesn’t know about her mark or werewolves. She is suddenly summoned to the gathering and has to face a new reality and an alpha pair who has a lot of pain to work through. When she faces danger and they have to protect her all three of them realize that they are made for each other and they talk, scream and make up. Loved to see the triplets again!
