Very cute little story and I adore the illustrations. My sons (ages 4.5 and 7) also enjoyed it. I appreciate the message of overcoming your fears and that you're braver than you think you are. Love the adorable cats and helping find a home for a needy kitten. There's some mild peril and action but nothing too intense. Good pacing and nice vocabulary.
Big complaint from Mom here is that Kitty just sets off on her "moonlight rescue" (after she's in her room for bed at night) and doesn't tell her dad!? She does not actually think she has superpowers (like her mom) yet and still she takes off out the window and runs across rooftops at night!? Yikes! At the end, she tells her parents about the adventure and they just accept this as a matter of course and say how great it is she did what she did. I know this is a "fantasy" but I would have been more comfortable if she'd had some verified superpowers and it was clear that her parents knew she was doing this and were okay with it ahead of time.

Kitty Mission im Mondschein ist ein wahnsinnig süßes Kinderbuch für Leser ab 7 Jahren. Und ihr könnt euch sicherlich schon denken um was es geht.
Kittys Mutter hat Katzensuperkräfte und ist so eine Art Superheldin, denn sie zieht nachts um die Häuser um Mensch und Tier zu helfen. Kitty findet das eigentlich ganz schön cool, aber manchmal hätte sie ihre Mutter auch gerne abends daheim um ihr eine Gutenachtgeschichte vorzulesen und weil es draußen im Dunkeln schon ein bisschen gruselig aussieht. Doch eines Tages steht eine Katze bei Kitty auf dem Fensterbrett und braucht ihre Hilfe. Da kann sie doch nicht nein sagen, oder?
Zunächst muss ich die wunderschönen Illustrationen loben. Diese ziehen sich durch das ganze Buch und haben den gleichen Stil wie das Cover. Zum Teil gibt es sogar welche, die die ganze Seite einnehmen. Da schlägt mein Herz natürlich höher. Ich mag den Zeichenstil von Jenny Løvlie, sie arbeiten viel mit schwarz, setzt aber Highlights mit Orang, was sehr gut zur Geschichte, die ja nachts im Dunkeln spielt, passt.
Nun zu der Geschichte, diese ist einfach erzählt und passt so in meinen Augen gut für Leser ab 7 Jahren. Es wird eine eigenständige Geschichte erzählt, die in sich abgeschlossen ist. Aber da es der Anfang einer Reihe ist, werden wir Kitty wohl noch auf weiteren Missionen begleiten, worauf ich mich schon sehr freue.
Besonders gefallen hat mir, wie Kitty über sich hinauswächst. Zunächst hat sie Angst, Selbstzweifel und bedenken, etwas was wir wohl alle kennen. Doch dann findet sie Selbstvertrauen, animiert auch durch ihre neuen Freunde, eine Gruppe Katzen. Ihre Katzen Freunde glauben an sie und so lernt auch Kitty, ihren Fähigkeiten zu vertrauen und wächst über sich hinaus. Eine sehr schöne Botschaft.
Die passenden Illustrationen untermalen die einzelnen Szenen schön und besonders die Katzen sind sehr putzig. Sehr süß auch, dass es am Anfang eine kleine Charaktervorstellung gibt und am Ende noch ein paar interessante Fakten über Katzen. So wird auch noch etwas Wissen vermittelt.
Von mir bekommt Kitty - Mission im Mondschein eine große Empfehlung. Ein wirklich süßes Kinderbuch mit Katzen, einer Protagonistin die besondere Fähigkeiten hat und das Selbstvertrauen findet ihre Ängste zu überwinden. Fear will hold you back from many great adventures but sometimes all you need is good friends, determination and a little belief in yourself. A dry fun short book with some wonderful drawings, an even better read with a kitty on my lap. The orange colour scheme confused my brain a little. However a wonderful book for fans of Isadora Moon or Mirabelle!

I thought it was really cool because I like cats and I really like adventure stories. I also like that Kitty is afraid of the dark just like I am. Kitty inspires me to get over my own fears. My favorite cat was Katsumi the ginger tabby cat. PS It is not the kitten.

Me gustó mucho la historia, considero que para chicos debe ser genial descubrir superpoderes, y quizás no sean de superhéroes, pero descubrir que somos especiales y únicos. Me gusta el personaje de Kitty, el desarrollo de la trama, cómo se resuelve el problema, ese momento en el que tiene al lector con los pelos de punta, de verdad disfruté mucho la historia, la enseñanza y las imágenes.

This is a fantastic early chapter book that is very gentle and sweet. Kitty's superhero mom rocks and you'll cheer for Kitty as she learns of her own powers and finds the courage to go out in the world and save cats too. The illustrations are marvelous too. Can't wait for the next one!

Kitty Mutter ist eine Katzen-Superheldin und auch Kitty hat das geerbt. Kittys Mutter ist in der Nacht immer unterwegs um Superheldinnen-Dinge zu tun. Kitty selbst findet die Nacht und ihre Dunkelheit eigentlich sehr gruselig. Eines Abends steht eine Katze auf Kittys Fensterbank und möchte ihre Mutter sprechen. Diese ist aber schon unterwegs, weswegen Kitty ihren Mut zusammennimmt und Turnschuhe und Katzenohren anzieht, um der Katze zu helfen.
Die Illustrationen haben es mir angetan, sie entsprechen dem Cover, sprich schwarz-weiß mit orange und unterstreichen die Geschichte. Im Laufe der Geschichte lernt Kitty mehrere Katzen kennen, eine mochte ich mehr als die andere. Sie kann übrigens mit Katzen sprechen, da sie ja eine Katzen-Superheldin ist.
Eine tolle Gute-Nacht-Mut-Mach-Geschichte, an der man auch als Erwachsene*r viel Freude hat.

Buku anak-anak ini mengisahkan ttg seorang anak perempuan bernama Kitty yg tiba-tiba mendapatkan kekuatan super. Petualangan pertama Kitty ini adalah menolong seekor anak kucing oyen yg terjebak di atas menara jam.
Kelak inilah pertemuan pertama Kitty dgn Pumpkin, si anak kucing oyen.
Ilustrasinya saya suka sekali, menggambarkan kucing-kucing yang sangat lucu, imut dan menggemaskan.

Kauniisti kolmella värillä kuvitettu eläinseikkailu lukemaan oppineille. Päähenkilö vaikuttaa vähän nuorelta, mutta kun ikää ei mainita, niin ehkä muksut ei huomaa. Tarinassa oli jonkin verran turhaa toistoa, mutta maaliin päästiin, ja jatkoakin on luvassa. Tilasin lisäkappaleita.

My three year old actually sat and listened to me read this straight through, the longest book he's managed thus far, and stayed engaged even on the pages with no pictures! That's a pretty high recommendation as far as I'm concerned. Plus it's cute, the art and the aesthetic is lovely, and Kitty is an admirable protagonist. Lovely start to the month.

Kitty está a punto de irse a dormir, cuando su madre le explica (pues ya es lo suficientemente grande) que ella, al igual que su familia, posee el poder de hablar con los felinos, tener super oído y realizar acrobacias impensables. Además, le desvela que cada noche parte a auxiliar a los habitantes de la ciudad. Esa misma madrugada, Kitty es despertada por un minino (Figaro, el cual conoce en esta primera aventura). El gatito busca a la madre de la niña, pero Kitty se ofrece a ayudarle y es así como llevará a cabo su primera incursión nocturna como heroína.
Este librito sencillo abre la serie Kitty. De buen principio, su despegue narrativo plantea una situación misteriosa e inquietante, que enseguida deriva en el rescate de un gatito (Mandarino, el que será el habitante de la casa de la familia posteriormente); construyendo un desarrollo simple a la par que encantador y coherente, para introducir la vida de la chica y su entorno, así como a el resto de sus ayudantes felinos: Missy, Figaro y Katsumo, que irán apareciendo conforme se va adentrando al lector en el nudo de la aventura. Si a eso le sumamos su mensaje final, el de la acogida de un animal abandonado a su suerte en la calle, y lo que ello representa, la historia se convierte en una auténtica delicia por tierna, disfrutable y ágil.
Recomendada como primer lectura de novela, tanto por sus principios como por su diversión.
