It’s official. I’ve come undone. My time at Hillcrest only led to my undoing. My past finally caught up to me, and now I’m in my ex’s hands. Ray, the Midtown Strangler, my serial killer ex who got off on a technicality. When I’m with him, I can almost forget what I saw at that party.
Almost.
But the truth is there is no forgetting it, and being with Ray only reminds me of the past, the past I’d tried so hard to forget. Ray is a psycho, and to get away from him—to truly be free of him—I have to turn to my own psychos for help.
It’s time for the truth, and it’s going to hurt. The past isn’t what matters most; it’s the future. We’ll have to fight for the right to have that future. If the handsome, rich boys at Hillcrest want to come out of this alive, they’ll have to look past their differences and stand by me.
It’s do or die.
Psycho is a darker romance, meaning there are topics that might offend you. Self-harm, suicide, stalking, graphic violence, bullying themes, and more to come. Be warned.
Hey guys! I'm a writer, an office worker, a wife, a mother to two dogs and two cats, and half of a strange pair of young adults who flip the houses they're living in with the goal of having no mortgage (so that I can eventually focus on my writing career!). Needless to say, I'm busy.
Still, I somehow find time to write, to read, and to enjoy life. Wish there were more hours in the day, really!
If you're active on Goodreads and have similar interests, friend me. I don't bite. Or if you'd rather follow my reviews, you can do that, too.
I totally forgot this is the same author as CBH series, at least until the end there when they were talking about Lincoln, Ed, and the Angel Maker. That was a pretty cool crossover albeit short.
In this book Ash is trying to navigate her new relationships with 2 of the guys while avoiding her psycho serial killing ex.
What I am left thinking is that Dean Briggs must have been sleeping with Sabrina... but does that mean he killed her? I don't know...maybe Will killed her.
Now we know what the family business is for Travis'. We know Ash's past. Ruiz doesn't want to let go. Will seems like he has more of a secret than his dad and having the other journal. Sawyer's family seems abusive. The Briggs' family seems like they have a dark side too.
Another thing...didn't Kelsey have something going on with her when she went to visit Ash? It was mentioned briefly that it was boy trouble. I hope Ruiz isn't messing with Kelsey to try and manipulate Ash.
So much is going on and I just want the next book!

Another fantastic and twisted addition to an amazing series. This series has so many twists and turns. Not only do we have one main story arc but 2! We have Ash and her stalker ex/serial killer, then there is the mystery of Sabrina’s suicide which kick started this entire series. We even get more cameos of other characters in Candace’s other books. Out of the entire book, that scene with Markus and Lincoln was probably my favorite.
I had brief thoughts of Ray possibly being added to the harem but those thoughts are firmly squashed now. I think the author did a good job creating Ray’s character for the reader to easily understand Ash’s conflict with herself about being with Ray plus it was easy to dislike him too. I love how the author has created all the other characters involved in Ash’s life. They are all different and each bring something unique to their relationship. Travis is dark, dangerous, and cocky but it works for me and Ash obviously. Declan is sweet and is Ash’s source of comfort in her crazy life. Will is a healthy mix of both Travis and Declan I think. He can be dark and dangerous when necessary but also sweet. Then their is Sawyer... my oh so broken Sawyer who just keeps tugging on my heart. You don’t want to love him but you can’t help it.
I cannot wait to read what happens next in this series. It is full of dark twists and turns that keep me on the edge of my seat.
Omg! This is the best book of this series thus far. Candace gets darker than ever and I can’t praise it enough. More steam and suspense than I could ask for and the writing is impeccable. I love that characters from her other books are in here as well.
I would have to say my favorite aspect of this book would be the character development for all of them! Each and every one of the main characters has come more into themselves and I think it’s amazing. Especially Sawyer, I am so excited for the day his shit is together and he can be his best self! Travis learns to share without getting murderous, Declan stands up for what he wants, as does will. I just thoroughly enjoyed it! Ash really matured as well, which I really appreciate. She’s realized she loves these men and will do whatever she can to protect them, and if that’s not love idk what is!
All in all this book gets 5 stars from me, download this baby as soon as it comes out!
I did receive this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review 🖤
Oh my freaking God. This book is mega explosive with so many twists and turns it blew my mind. Ash and her guys go through lots of crazy moments and a few of them get some hot action 😋. For the book to end in a shockingly gruesome way but in a way fit for this series and with Rae Ash's ex on the scene what more can we expect. One million percent love this book and the series as a whole. Bring on the next book
keeps getting interesting, that ending tho left me hanging. I wanna know more about Travis brothers ;)the scene with Markus and Lincoln was my fave scene, things just got more interesting can´t they be in her harem as well
This one is quite addictive, I love that Candace Wondrak has developed this story so it has a little suspense element running through it, it definitely keeps those pages turning. The last page left my jaw on the floor and the more of this story that gets revealed, the more the questions stack up. But, it's a guilty pleasure and now I'm desperate for the next one.
I am so invested into Ash and her guys I can't wait to know more. I am still very curious about the way the author leaves small hints throughout the story to make it impossible to put down! Here we go book 5!
Candace Wondrak is truly a force of nature to be reckoned with! She simply amazes me at the way her mind works.
It’s no secret I’m a huge fan of Candace’s work. But after being a little disappointed in book 3, I was slightly weary coming into this one. I tried not to get my hopes up, but boyyyyy did Candace put me right in my place with this book.
Psycho was everything I had hoped and prayed for in this series and MORE. She kicked me right in the gut from the first chapter and drew me right on back in with Ash & the boys. The storyline and world building was amazing, with no signs of “filler” anywhere. I was on a constant roller coaster of emotions and my brain went into overdrive trying to put all of the pieces together.
Ash is simply a phenomenal and badass FMC. And boyyy are the guys in this smoking hot. I love that not all of the boys have fallen at her feet, and are still a work in progress. I love to see how they have all grown and their secrets are coming come out. As for their relationships, Candace FINALLY gave us so oh so sexy scenes that will have you panting for more.
If you are considering whether to continue or even start the Hillcrest University series, just go ahead and one click to read it NOW! You will not be disappointed😍
If Skank broke Ash, then Psycho made her...delicious men, hot sex, torture, blood, and a dose of mental healing are all Ash needs to recuperate from her latest meet and greet with her serial killer ex Ray. However, Ash isn’t alone in needing healing and love, and as her harem builds, some of her guys jump right in while others take a step back to find themselves. Character growth abounds in this addition to the Hillcrest University saga, and the books continue to be as captivating as ever! Ash’s time spent with her ever-growing harem is intense and sizzling hot!! 😉 Travis is fighting to get his hands on Ray, Declan is learning to share, Will gets an amazing welcome to the group, and Sawyer has several enlightening experiences that open his eyes to the truth. All is never what it seems when Candace Wondrak is writing, and she will definitely keep you on your toes! Looking forward to catching a killer (and possibly even a psycho) in Killer!! 😎 P.S. That cameo was life, and this book slayed!!

This book. Man, I'm addicted to this series or maybe I'm addicted to Candace Wondrak's sick imagination. Can we please be friends? Hahaha. But in all seriousness, this story of Ash and the rich boy university and the serial killer and just the Scott family...I am so entertained. And grateful that writers share their crazy imaginations with their humble readers.
Ash, is in BIG trouble with her ex-boyfriend. He is terrifying, but it's easy to see how someone like Ash would get caught up in a guy like him. She was victimised from a young age and attracted to the dark side naturally...a perfect combo for being attracted/attractive to bad men. Ugh. Bad men are the absolute worst. They make my blood boil and my inner Valkyrie rage to lash out the punishments. Kneel before me and take it.
At least Ash has Travis and Declan on hand to support her, fight for her, hunt for her...anything for her. It's good to have friends/lovers who are your ride or die in a completely literal sense. Beautiful.
I love that that this series runs parallel to the Cruel Black Hearts series, too. I'm seeing certain events from another perspective and that's fun! I feel immersed in this twisted, dark world. I guess the thought that this world of murder and chaos is fun says a lot about who I am as a person. I've learned so many things about myself since I started hardcore binge reading last summer.
Anyway, this book is another jewel in the Hillcrest University crown of excellence. Loved it. Love this series. Ok, I'm done gushing now and downloading the next book. Byyyeeee!
What is up with Will? -at 77% and I'm ready know what all the big secret's he has over his dad. And if he has Sabrina's second diary that could help Declan.. why wouldn't he use it so his brother didn't suffer more before Ash came into the picture? -finished (obviously) still waiting to find out.
Will we find out if Declan really hurt himself or if he was attacked? Why is Dean Briggs just now becoming a suspect? How was Ash not connected to Ray from the beginning of her shit? Like was there really no evidence that she was never connect to him from the cabin?
Swayers spiral is crazy, he get sober forcefully for 5 minutes hates his life again but realizes how messed up he's been to everyone and thinks the solution is to take more pills because he deserves a break after reading his sister's note that "exposed" the truth? Bye. Man knows that he "loves" Ash and that there's crazy shit going on that he could definitely use to help get back into good graces with people but noooooo.
Travis and Declan are carrying this group still which is not surprising with Ash and how she's deciding to live, laugh, love through this bs. Even with their personalities and weirdness, I hope they become besties.
I did not mean for that kind of car hit..... or dragging? I thought Brooklynn deserved some karma but um wow. She got it alright.

Dunno how the first two books got 4☆and 5☆ from me and then there is this:
I am deducting one whole ☆ because of things like this:
I pulled her to me once I was on my feet, hoisting her up in my arms. She must’ve weighed a little over one hundred pounds, not an ounce of fat anywhere on her. She wasn’t too hard to carry out of the kitchen and up the stairs.
She only weighed 45 freaking kg???? I hate writing like this. WHY do every author need to write the MC's weight and height in exact words??? I hate it here.
I am deducting another ☆ because the author repeats herself all the time. Yes, we know Ash and her mother was poor and Ash needed to help out. We know what colour the MC's eyes are. We KNOW how lean Declan is and how big Sawyers muscles are. We KNOW how weird and creepy Travis' family business is. We get it! I cannot read about it any more. Does this book series not have an editor? Alpha-team? Beta-team?! What is going on?!
Not speaking to your best friend because she slept with a guy you maybe liked, but she didn't know who he was is not a vibe, Ash. The same was not helping Brooklyn in the car scene in the parking lot. Not. A. Vibe. Do better, Ash. Every main character can do better.
Pyscho is book four in the hillcrest university series. I have been eager to read this story since finishing the previous one. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline action packed. I cannot say too much without giving a lot of spoilers away. Because of that, I will try and keep this short. The drama continues for Ash, Declan, Travis and Sawyer. With Ash back in the hands of her dangerous ex, will she see the light and free herself? If she does, will she be able to keep her ex away? Will Declan, Travis and Sawyer admit their feelings for Ash? I love this series and I need the next book now! I was on the edge of my seat throughout this story. I didn’t even want to blink in case I missed something. I love all of the characters. Even Ash’s ex intrigues me. I don’t like his actions but his love/obsession for Ash entertains me. I cannot wait for more books from this series.
***I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.*** Here is another amazing book in the Hillcrest series. Candace Wondrak has done it again. Just when you through Ash was broken, she comes back with a Vengeance! Between her men being mostly there for her and trying to take down her serial killer ex Ray, Ash has her hands full. Travis and Declean jump right in to help Ash with anything she needs including sharing her. Will is hesitant at first but then comes to his senses. Even though he is still trying to fight it more. Then there is Sawyer. Sawyer is just a hot mess who needs some major help and by the end of this book, we see Sawyer take a huge step in the right direction to help himself and so he can be there for Ash. That ending.... Say what? Ray is one messed up man! Hello Travis' family. I cannot wait to see Ash and her men take down Ray!
Wow I love this series! Ash is back and improved. In this book we get a mini resolutions with ray, but he'll be back lol I don't see this series ending without him dead. This book has the most relationship progress, she basically got 3 out of her four dudes, I'm still not sure about, Will, he's sketchy to me. And Sebastian, I'm not sure, is he even one of her guys? idk I hope we get more on him because I do find his actions interesting. As of right now he doesn't really fit in with her harem, so maybe he'll come back an improved guy. I just feel like no one can live up to Travis's dedication or obsession lol All in all, I'm excited for the next book. What secrets are left to be exposed and how will rays possible, come back fit into the equation. Oh, let's not forget the tie in to her other book series I adored that.

Story picked up with Ash ending up in Ray's clutches after the traumatic events of the costume party. The guys, especially Travis was desperate to find her but I loved the way Ash came to her senses on her own and rescued herself. This story had more reveals. Ash's twisted history with Ray. Sawyer's messed up family. Who really was to blame in Sabrina's suicide note. The development of the harem with Travis and Declan in, Will on the verge and Sawyer out. Sawyer realizing he needed more help than his friends could give. The appearance of two of Travis' brothers was an interesting twist. Apparently they're in another series that I will definite check out. After the horrifying scene with Brooklyn, Ray needs to be taken out. On to the next book.
This story keeps getting better and better with every book in the series. Candace is an amazing storyteller. It’s so easy to get lost in her words that when you reach the last page and get pulled back to reality, you wouldn’t be shocked you got pulled in so quickly. Really love how there wasn’t any insta-love in this. Usually with the typical bullymance, it only takes a few sentences and suddenly the bully turns from an antagonist to a hero. Not with this series. The slow burn was a welcome change. And each male in the group...wowza! Love how each of them are dark in their own way. Can’t wait to see the craziness from Travis’ family. Let the blood run...
In love these characters! While a few scenarios are a little graphic it's come to be somewhat expected in the series-meaning the type of book is dark of course there will be dark parts. Definitely a shocker just when you think you have it figured out something else happens. There is a lot going on in the book between ash and her ex issues and the Sabrina issue, it all ties together between the characters. Cliffhanger.......ugh killing me here. I don't usually read dark series but I love this one and would definitely recommend! For sure gonna follow this author.
Again, loved this book. Even though Declan and Travis figure it out, Ash finally decided to tell them her secret... And they'd do everything to protect her! Little did she know that at the right moment, Ray was ready for some payback.
Honestly, the fact that all the characters have more than complicated lives is kind of a breath of fresh air, I mean everything isn't solved in five minutes. They all go through some serious sh*t, we see them struggle. It feels real.
I definitely cannot wait to start book 5 and see how all of this goes.
3.5 I think this book was slightly better. However, there are some aspects that doesn’t make sense, for example; there is a psycho, and nobody has taken any security measures to stay safe, like installing cameras around the house, using GPS in her clothes or keys, not just her phone. Moreover, the guys are obsessed with her and claim that she is unique, but I don’t notice anything special about her. I have read books in which the main female character is unique because of certain characteristics that make her special. But Ash hasn't done anything remarkable.
Holy quokka moly book 4 in the Hillcrest series omg when you think things couldn’t get any worst for Ash and her men well just throw in the crazy ex serial killer who decide he has waited long enough to get her back. He is in the right place at the right time so to speak when Ash feels she can’t cope with everything that has happen and what she has just walked in on. But omg she pulls herself back together and comes out fighting but she is not alone as her men are going to help her fight. Finally Ash and some of her men get hot and steamy love it and it was about time lol Omg omg the ending one of my favourite character from another one of Candace wondrak series is in can wait to see what happens next in killer the books have you sitting on the edge of your seat and keep you gripped from start to finish Ioved it
You're killin me, smalls!! That ending, that ENDING. Ughhh I need more and like, yesterday! With each book, the story just keeps getting better and more twisted. I need to know what's going to happen. And to find out who Travis' family really is?! Killin me!! I love those psycho's!
I'm loving how Ash is getting to know the guys and finally seeing some action. I think we're all just waiting on her and Sawyer now ;)
The last book left off on a crazy cliffy that had you wondering what was Ash thinking. In psycho we get to see where her head was along with everyone else. The guys that care about Ash have to do everything they can to protect her. They are being hunted by a killer who only has eyes for ash and doesn't care who he has to go through.
This book featured a great cameo and a ending that will have you begging for Killer
Wasn’t my favorite book in the series so far. Kind of felt like a lot of filler to get from point a to point b. I’m still not sure how I feel about Ash’s decision to be romantically involved with 3 of the 4 men she’s been attracted to for most of the series. I’ll continue reading because I wanna see Ray’s life end but I’m definitely starting to lose interest.
Sooo not the ending I expected. A lot of reviews say it was deserved, whilst the individual was a nasty piece of work I wasn't expecting that and I'm not entirely sold on the idea they deserved to die in that manner. The way these books are crafted is just simply brilliant. I would hate to spend 5 minutes in candace's head, for her characters to be as troubled as they are her mind must be one crazy, dark, twisted place.
So I’ve already finished these books because I had to just leave a comment to say
OMG I didn’t see the cross over coming!!! I fly through kindle books like no tomorrow so the author of this series hadn’t even registered!! the blurb is what always gets me. So to get to this book and have Lincoln and Ed was a total head spinner for me and took me a minute to get my head around it!!
Would definitely recommend if you’ve got this far... keep on reading!!

I loved this!! So good, not to give any spoilers but being able to see characters from other books end up in this one was amazing. I loved the twists and turns in this. And Sawyer... what can I say, my hatred has lessened and I'm looking forward to his growth. This is definitely my favorite series, it just keeps getting better every book released.
This book was everything I was wanting! Psycho had it all! I’m really speechless, it was that good!!! I wanted to throw my phone when I finished it because I want... no NEED more! Thank goodness Candace is a fast writer because I think I may die from anticipation. Please read these books! They are hands down AMAZING!
Omg.....I'm so hooked to this series I can't get enough.love all the twists and turns , now with Markus and Lincoln In the picture can't wait to see if they too will fall for.Ash's charms as well? and what secrets is the Dean withholding??? CAN'TWAIT !! 🙏LOVE THIS AUThor👍👏
