If you knew anything about Justin Wilde, you'd know he lived up to his last name. He was the reckless one… the one who went looking for trouble. He had lived in New York for six years, but he recently moved back home to Lexington accompanied by his young daughter and rumors of past trouble. I didn't mind that he had a little girl. As long as he was single, I had hope that he would notice me one day. He had kissed me once years ago, and I remembered it like it was yesterday.I had seen Justin several times since he returned and it seemed as if he had completely forgotten about that kiss. In fact, it was like he actually went out of his way to avoid me. You would think this would dissuade me from liking him. He was the ultimate bad boy and he wasn't interested in me at all.But maybe that was the very thing that made him irresistible.
Brooke St. James is a USA Today bestselling author and Amazon Kindle All-Star. She writes contemporary romance novels with Christian and inspirational themes and happy endings. She was born and raised in south Louisiana but has had the opportunity to travel and live throughout the U.S. An avid reader, writer, audio book addict, and fan of all things artistic, Brooke constantly has her hands in some creative activity. She's currently back home in Louisiana enjoying life with her husband, children, and two lazy dogs.
Brooke St. James has become one of my favorite writers. I feel like I'm reading about real people- not just some silly soap-opera style drama, but rather people I'd actually like to meet! She has done it once again with Reckless & Wild- I enjoyed this clean romance that draws you into their world. As someone who grew up in the area of KY where these stories are taking place I feel a special draw and interest in learning about these interesting characters. While being clean and appropriate for all ages, I like that it is Christian without being preach-y, Wholesome without being holier-than-thou. This book does deal with having children out of wedlock in a very honest and respectful manner. Thank you Brooke!!!
As with the first book in the series, this one alternates between two characters. It is really weird though because one is in first person and the other in third. I felt like the Justin chapters were written by a different author. They were very tell not show and their being in third person ruined the flow for me. There wasn’t much conflict in the book either. Contains: kisses, a few religious references
This is Justin and Lindsay’s story. We met Lindsay in book one of the Tanner Family series. She was an interesting character in Zeke Tanner’s story. I thought Lindsay had a case of unrequited love for Zeke. She does have a case of unrequited love alright, but it’s for another Tanner family member. Bad boy Justin Wilde.
Justin had come back home from NYC with a two year old daughter. He is an amazing dad and it seemed like his bad boy days were behind him. But he sure doesn’t like Lindsay. In fact, almost every time he sees her he pretends he doesn’t know her. Even though he does and even though they had shared an amazing kiss four years ago.
No spoilers here. This book was a bit different than other Brooke St. James books. Usually I fall in insta-love for her heroes, but it took a while for me to love Justin. But who doesn’t love a reformed bad boy? And learning what an excellent dad he is, made my heart melt. As for Lindsay, I loved how true and certain she was about her love for Justin. It seemed she had faith in him before he had it in himself.
I gave this book 4 1/2 stars. I wish we had learned more about why Justin became a bad boy in the first place. None of the usual clues existed (rough childhood, unstable family dynamics, etc.).
The story started out feeling a little bit YA, but the story also began with a flashback to their YA past, so it actually fit in a way, as they sort of pick up where they left off, but from a more mature perspective; and once it really got going, it was absolutely delightful. Brooke St James is so good at swoony romance.
Lindsey is innocent and yet savvy at the same time. Justin is savvy and yet recovering his innocence with God's help. Piper is absolutely adorable. Their relationship development faces multiple potential obstacles but love - and open communication - conquers all! (No trite, manufactured conflicts here - just a fairytale love that feels real)
The ending is so sweet, and the epilogue is so swoony!
*Clean romance level: passionate kisses, hero has a tomcat past which resulted in a child out of wedlock but no graphic details, epilogue suggests marital intimacy, but again, nothing graphic or inappropriate
I loved this sweet romance. The setting is in gorgeous Kentucky on horse farms:) Justin and Lindsay are fabulous and you fall in love with sweet little Piper! Justin doesn't feel worthy of Lindsay since he's lived a little on the wild side and she's innocent and pure. Lindsay has crushed on Justin for years. Can they overcome all obstacles, including her parents, to find true love? Come along for a fabulous ride:) I highly recommend this book! Happy reading!
Brooke has honestly become one of my absolute favorite authors. I love every single one of her books. I’ve read them all multiple times. I love getting introduced to the people in one book then getting their own stories in the next. I am super thankful for Lindsey to have her happily ever after. I’m super excited for the next story. Maybe Stella? :) <3
What a beautiful love story between Justin & Lindsey. I enjoyed reading about their lives - so many emotions. The strong sense of ineffectiveness and gratitude and love. I love Piper 💗 . Brooke always seems to have a way with words to make you fall in love with her books.
I am always so excited when Brooke St. James releases a new book. However, they are so good I cannot put them down. This is only a bad thing because, I cannot wait to read her next book and I have to wait! Reckless and Wild is no exception. It is fun, raw, and I couldn’t put it down. Pick it up, I know you will love it!
The writing had an odd flow but the characters were interesting enough to keep going. Lindsay has been in love with Justin Wilde forever, and their kiss several years ago only made it worse. Then he reappears in her life, with a child in tow, and their romance begins. Clean, sweet romance, with Christian vibes (but not too preachy). HFN, part of a series but a standalone.
This is an amazing as well as endearing love story with memorable characters that will definitely steal your heart and have you cheering for their happily ever after.
This is a sweet clean romance that leaves you wanting more. If you haven't already read the first book I suggest you read it as many of the characters are introduced in that book.
This was such a good story that I had to read it in one sitting. I loved the relationship between these two characters. I little girl was probably my favorite character. This is a sweet, clean romance.
Brooke St. James does it again! Can Justin’s first attraction be made into something real? Has he learned from his Reckless and Wild past? Lindsay sure hopes ha can and has, because she is pretty sure no one out there is better than Justin. A heartfelt story of Redemption, acceptance and trust!
Lindsey and Justin has a very unusual relationship. It started for Lindsey at a young age. So much happens in the following years. You must read this book to see what transpires. Very interesting.
Absolutely Awful! Please explain to me how the main character has the mindset of a 10 year old. She is desperate and stalker is. Knows nothing but that she is attracted to a man but in love.
I get the God angle, but she would throw it all away because he is not. 🤦🏾♀️

This is only the second book of The Tanner Family series and I am hooked. Justin and Lindsay are a sweet couple with an adorable little girl Piper. If you are on a budget the price is right you will not regret buying this book.
I love the way Brooke St James writes stories that are engaging and realistic. I feel that I have become a part of the Tanner family. And the romance is exciting with no smut.
I really enjoyed this bad boy turned responsible parent falling in love with the right girl. Lindsey knew she could accept and love JT' s daughter as her own and this story proved it.
Lindsey had a crush on Justin for years. Yet he always seemed to avoid her. Until the truth comes out and things completely change. Wonderful clean story. Fantastic characters.
I thoroughly enjoyed this novel from the first page until the very last. It has been a very rare occurrence that I could just pick up a book and read it in one day; but, I was captivated by these characters and their amazing love story instantaneously.
This story of sweet Lindsay and format bad boy Justin is so wonderful! Her four year crush on Justin evolved into true love. Brooke is one of my favorite authors.
Enjoyed this read. Brooke is one of my favorite authors to read. Like how she added a different twist with this book. Wish all situations like this were this drama free.!
I felt like I read a rough draft of a potentially good book. (Which was a bit annoying and threw off the pace of the book a bit) So I don’t know what to rate it as.
Lindsey has had a thing for Justin ever since they kissed. Her obsession is over the top in the beginning. If you can make it through that, it becomes good.
