This was a fun read. It was great to see other artists interpret these characters and stories. This is definitely for fans who have read the original series. These stories do not add much to the original but offer more in depth looks at the every day lives of the characters. It was still enjoyable.

Several creators take a crack at Nio Nakatani’s superlative Bloom Into You and spin many a side story full of the sublime and the ridiculous, giving us a welcome chance to spend time with these characters again.

Just in case you’re new here, let me reiterate again that Bloom Into You is my absolute, without question, favourite manga series of all time and I have read it, watched the anime, subsequently bought the anime, and read the light novel spin-off.

So this anthology is basically a romp through a candy store for me, watching a bunch of talented mangaka (and the writer of Cocoon Entwined [cough]) bring back the cast for a variety of silly and sweet stories. There won’t be much chill here on my part.

My two favourite stories come from two very different places - one is, of all things, a festival story, which shows that you can still sell me on yukata even now, provided you put the effort in. It is a charming bit of back and forth between Yuu and Touko that shows them at their most playful.

The other involves Yuu, Akari, and Koyomi hanging out in class discussing Koyomi’s writing of the school play. This one turns into a total farce as the girls’ imaginations run pretty steamy and then everybody else gets involved. It is super adorable in its rampant thirstiness.

Yes, all you Sayaka lovers get some very good service for the Touko and Sayaka relationship (the surprising revelation in the horoscope chapter made me laugh pretty hard). The adult lesbians also make a very welcome return in a great chapter of their own.

This goes to so many places the manga never bothered and didn’t need to, per se, but it’s still super fun to get these little treats. Two chapters involve Yuu and Touko trying on clothing and both nail their dynamic in how they’re presented. A couple go for magical realism (one takes a statement Yuu makes in the first chapter very, very literally) and add a bit of variety to the mix themselves.

The only one I don’t love is the hair one, from the mangaka of, wait for it, Cocoon Entwined. Not necessarily because the content is bad; I mean, I knew as soon as I saw the hair focus who this was by, but I really don’t care for her art style much. Even then, it was okay.

I think the only way you’d be totally displeased with this is if you were expecting more content focused on the boys in the story. And while a Maki-centric asexual story wouldn’t have gone wrong, I would say that guys really don’t tend to be the focus of yuri series for some reason (cough).

5 stars - but you knew that was coming, right? The stories are cute and may not necessarily all fit in to the main Bloom Into You-niverse, but they don’t ever feel like these aren’t the same characters I came to love. If you liked Bloom Into You, I doubt you’ll be disappointed in this (okay, I wish Fly had done more than just one measly illustration).

A noticeable downgrade from the main series. It’s not bad per se, but since it’s an anthology of stories all drawn by different artists it feels incredibly inconsistent especially in the art styles. None of them are able to match the art of the main series. The individual stories are mostly fine but most of them are still unmemorable.

I still enjoyed reading it but I can’t say that it is near as great as the main series.

cute and fluffy!!! you can tell that each chapter's mangaka really understands the characters and put a lot of love into it. no new ground covered, but if you enjoyed the main series and want more time in this world, this is a nice little companion volume.

As Nakatani Nio puts it, it's like seeing the same world in a different perspective. I think the different art styles for each chapter were cute although I think some of the stories were really out of character.
I really enjoyed the last chapter with the cherry blossoms and the messaging that connects with the main story. Also for characters like Koyomi which weren't the main character, it was also fun to see small stories of them too.

I found all of the different art styles to be adorable and overall this anthology was very cute. I really liked that some stories seemed like fillers for between certain chapters or moments in the manga.

I accidentally read this instead of the first volume of the Bloom Into You manga. This is essentially an anthology of fan-made manga short stories using characters from Bloom Into You. I haven’t read the series, so these stories were lost on me.

'Bloom Into You Anthology' is really fun, an anthology of fan comics of the series, from a number of other manga creators. It's a good mix of stuff, from scenes we might have gotten, to indulgent character bits, to funny strange weirdness. My favorite of the latter is the one about girls literally floating from romance (Free-floating Maidens, by Chomoran)... There's also a really good extended look at the home life of the adult couple from the coffee shop. (Bitter Coffee Time, by Hiroichi) Another great pleasure is just seeing the characters redrawn in other artist's styles; I like all the variations we get on them and it's really enjoyable. Anyway, if you enjoyed Bloom Into You, and a craving just a bit more, this is exactly for you. :)

I read the Japanese version thanks to fan translations back in November of 2019, with the official English release I decided to read it again.
My feelings about this Anthology volume 1 are still the same, being that I’m still very fond of Bloom Into You as a whole and this was a lovely addition to the manga series.

It was really cute! I didn't look carefully when I borrowed the book from the library and I thought it was Bloom Into You vol. 1, but actually it was the anthology. I've never read Bloom Into You so I was missing a lot of context for the characters, but I still understood all the short stories and enjoyed the art. I'm sure for fans of Bloom Into You they will enjoy it!

This is a wholesome and entertaining read for manga fans who, like me, still crave more Bloom Into You content! In this short anthology, you'll find your favorite characters interacting and taking care of each other; crossdressing; playing games; going on dates... My favorite stories were "Bitter Coffee Time" (REALLY love this one because I love adult sapphics), "Let's Write a Script!", "Onigiri, Croquette, Tamagoyaki", "Festival Night" and "What Will You Wear Tomorrow?". Overall, very enjoyable :)

This anthology is really fun. Some stories look like they’re lifted straight out of the manga while others are a little more out there. Characterization remains consistent with the manga. I particularly appreciated the chapter on the teacher and her girlfriend coffeeshop owner.

After the wonderful ending of both the original manga series and the Regarding Saeki Sayaka series, it’s great to return to the world and the characters of Bloom into You, this time through the eyes of a diverse group of manga artists. Each one offers their own interpretation of the characters, setting and story, delivering a delightful exploration of each one. The individual stories are all short and mostly light fare, but it’s more about returning to much-loved characters that merits this high rating.

When first finished the main series last summer, I was left with the most peculiar feeling, the kind one only gets after finishing a newly found favorite, that mixture of comforting warmth and distressing hollowness. This is just a long way to say I appreciate these collections of fan works with the entirety of my heart and soul. Getting to reunite with my favorite girls was already lovely enough, but also through other fans/creators' eyes? Knowing and seeing the physical evidence of our shared appreciation and affection for the mere existence of this kind of story, this piece of media? It was remarkable, to put it lightly.

As for this first volume, it was a perfect rollercoaster of emotions that started with fluffy feelings and ended with a sucker punch right to the heart. According to the afterword, it seems like the anthology was created around the time volume 6 was released. All I have to say is that if I had read "fleeting cherry blossoms" before knowing how Yuu and Nanami's story would end... I would have offed someone.

My personal favorites, though, were still the fluffy cutesy ones, for my heart is weak and fragile and should only be handled with extreme gentleness and care ♡

A fun group of stories by some of the master mangaka of all things yuri.

This was a very sweet, very cute, quick read. I would love to see more! I'd love it if they would do two spin-offs: our two girls, only now in college, maybe living together? As for the other, a series about the sensei and the coffee shop gal. I think we all would be delighted to see those, as well as more multi-author anthologies. Bloom Into You is still one of my all-time fave Yuri series, if not my most fave of them all! Read the section involving the two girls in the sports shed, on the floor, with Yuu on top, and being rather agressive, and it is just sheer, raw, romantic love. The main story was amazing, and the fun continues with this anthology.
