People I Want to Punch in the Throat

Just A Few People I Want to Punch in the Throat: Volumes 1 - 6

We all have a list of people we'd like to punch in the throat. Okay, maybe not really punch them, but we can imagine it, right? This is a compilation of New York Times bestselling author Jen Mann's first six volumes of short stories available as for the first time as a complete collection.

Jen Mann has no filter and says what everyone else is thinking. She's has a sharp wit and an even sharper tongue. In this edition, she takes aim at Sarah, the very person she ever wanted to punch in the throat...at only four years old. She also turns her laser focus on lazy parenting, teen crushes, and her sex life. Basically, as far as Jen is concerned, nothing is sacred.

You'll laugh, you'll cringe, you'll nod along and say, "Oh man! I do that too!" Jen is the BFF you've been waiting for.

I did not read the entire book. First few chapters were funny but by chapter 3 or 4 she went off on a woke liberal (and quite morally offensive) rant - and seemed proud that she had indoctrinated her young children to also be devoid of morals. It was rather disturbing in the way she attacked anyone who didn’t believe in her woke ideology. I don’t recommend this book to anyone who is not a flaming leftwing liberal, devoid of morality, tolerance or the ability to not call people who disagree with her ideology “hateful”. The book is extremely repugnant.

Jen Mann is what you need to beat the cold weather blahs that have been going around. I read this book on my 90 minute commute yesterday and today and I never looked up once. The time flew by as I laughed to myself reading Jen's stories about The Hubs, and her kids, Adolfa and Gomer. My only complaint is that I wish this book was ten times longer so I would have more to read and laugh about. All of Jen's books are seriously funny and if you haven't read them, go check them out.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE EVERYTHING SHE WRITES

A lot of the shit Jen writes has me literally laughing out loud hysterically - while my hubby is trying to work from home or even in the break room at work. She’s absolutely hilarious - mostly because she speaks truths we all think while still keeping the vast majority of her thoughts relatable to a mainstream audience. She’s definitely the mon you want to go have have lunch or drinks with any day of the week!

As someone who's read most of Jen Mann's other books, I really enjoyed the collection of short essays that I haven't already read. The only thing that threw me off was that they weren't organized in life chronological order, but it was only a temporary disjointedness until I was chuckling along at her story!

Basically fairly boring stories about a lackluster suburban mom and her fairly boring life in Kansas, trying to add spice with superfluous use of the F-word. Also there were an embarrassing amount of type-o’s and grammatical errors in the kindle version. So, basically I would prefer the author just save us all time and punch herself in the throat.

Hilarious

This book had me laughing out loud, page after page. I'm down for the rest of her books, as soon as I can afford it.

You know it’s a good book when you laugh so hard that you’ll end up getting hiccups. I think I even scared my dogs a few times because I laughed so loud.

Very relatable content, especially the HOA part, the birth, and Joey. Also, fuck that guy.

Funny book about a few people she wants to punch I the face. I too have a list. I can agree with her first book, as an oldest who didn’t have to share.

Loved the second story about parents who give their
Children a choice- chance to make every decision- for their family.

I can’t wait to read 2-6

Good humor I completely relate to through all stages of life. It takes a certain type of personality to get some of the things talked about. Totally worth it for me. The author also prefers amazon and good reads reviews. She knows how to capture your attention. 🙃
