Haunted (adjective)- Preoccupied with an emotion, memory, or idea; obsessed.
It’s what happens to a man that loses his entire family. The first years that followed their demise were the worst.
Determined to inflict even a fraction of my pain onto those responsible, I paid them back the same way they paid me. I was content to live out my days knowing justice was dealt at my hands.
Consumed with rage. Obsessed with revenge. Haunted by regret.
Years later, I take in two boys and suddenly it’s no longer only about me.
That’s where she comes in. A broken nanny who heals us all.
This was a super cute single dad and nanny romance. It had a nice slow(ish) burn to it and I loved all the interactions with the kids.
There wasn’t much of a motorcycle club plot to this book which I kind of missed from the book before it. As always, I loved the found family trope and all the side characters. It was a fun and quick read!
okay so what was this mess 💀 the storyline was way more than rushed for inexplicable reasons the relationship between the mcs was SOOO shallow to the point i was caught off guard when they first said the L word to eachother bc helloo??? when did that even happen??!?! the jumps in time were not it bc we really didn’t get to see their real raw emotions the only thing i liked was the kids ALSO wtf was the kidnapping thing in the second to last chapter????! you could’ve made that a major plot like why tf did u feel the need to include something so unnecessary anywayss i’m just really upset rn bc i just finished the book so my reactions are still fresh so i apologise if the author somehow sees this, i meant no disrespect i’m glad it was short otherwise i would’ve dnf-d or been fuming LMAO
my thoughts while reading
in chapter 5 hawk says: "No. There’s no need for that. If Ivy trusts you, I trust you. That’s how we work around here." which implies that he knows ivy right??? since he’s trusting her enough to allow her friend (the nanny holly) to stay with his kids alone and that’s a huge deal the tell me why… this conversation happened
“Do you know Ivy Scott?” I question. “The name sounds familiar.” “You may know her as Poison Ivy,” I supply. “Yeah, she’s Timber’s daughter. An MC Princess turned VP.”
chapter 9: “We grieve to the extent that we loved.” i loved this quote
chapter 10:
“I silently agree and bend to answer the phone” um… why did he answer HER phone when they weren’t even a thing and honestly at that point their whole relationship was a pile of NOTHING like where did the audacity come from, especially with the fact that he accused her of "cheating" (they weren’t even a couple and had only kissed once then the jump in time happened so it felt so rushed) and it was her BROTHER… embarrassing
“Oh, Jax has already been sucked, don’t you worry your pretty little head about that.” this made me LOL

My God I laughed and I cried and I swooned. This was not what I was expecting at all after reading the first two books. So much love for this series and this author. I can’t wait to see what is to come for future books. *Available on Kindle Unlimited at the time of my review*
This was a cute story about an mc biker with his two foster children and his nanny. The kids were absolutely adorable.
However, the romance was lacking at times. One moment they're a happy family, next he's pushing everyone away. And then, they're back at being happy without much conflit.
Another issue is the story is told instead shown which takes away from the enjoyment. I like to know how someone feels through actions instead of the character telling me what's going on in their head.
“Okay, yes. Good. That sounds good. Thank you so much, err—Um, I’m sorry, do I call you Bullet or Hawk?” “Sweetheart, you can call me whatever you like."
I love this read so much! I'm a sucker for single-parent plotlines. Kids are sometimes a cheat way to get to a reader's heart but I love it. I fell in love with all of them!
I was a bit sceptical because it was an instant romance, love at first sight. However, the personality of our two characters, Holly and Bullet, just makes it all right. I love they are not perfect, they are awkward, weird and a bit going a long the way in the journey they are at together.
We get to hear more of Bullet's story, his insecurities and his fears. How him being a single dad has helped him in his healing. It wasn't a constant alright, all is fine, but a journey that has its ups and downs. The focus was definitely more on Bullet and his past, how he wants to overcome and welcome Falcon and Tobias in his life. Holly was an added love that helped him through his journey while he and the boys save Holly life in just being with her.
"Memories of our time together flash through my mind and my eyes burn at the beauty of his transformation. This broken biker who didn’t even know how to love himself, is now consumed by it. From me, from our boys. And getting to see his face and witness this moment when our souls collide is something I’ll never forget. "
Haunted by Regret is another excellent installment in this author’s Heaven’s Guardians MC series and I must say that this series keeps getting better and better. This quick and entertaining read is sure to pull at your heartstrings, but you will also be left with a sense of hope, family, and love.
Hawk Bentley aka ‘Bullet’ is a man who cares deeply, but he guards his heart as he struggles to battle his past demons. Holly is a breath of fresh air with her compassion and ability to connect with not only the two foster boys that she is nannying, but also with Bullet. I absolutely adored Falcon and Tobias, the two foster children, as they each stole a big piece of my heart!
Haunted by Regret isn't quite as dark as this author’s previous books, but that did not detract from my enjoyment of it. I love this author's writing style and there was the perfect combination of drama, suspense, levity, and heat. The story was interesting, flowed well, and moved at a good pace. Bullet and Holly were strong, likable characters and it was a treat to see the others from the previous books. In theory, this novel could be read as a standalone, but I do recommend reading the previous two books because there is character overlap and because they are that good. If you have enjoyed this author’s previous works, then you will love Haunted by Regret!
I read an early complimentary version of this novel.
This baby was a little different than its predecessors, not going to say why (of course) but I can’t say that I didn’t enjoy it because I did. This book had my heart melting over and over, even when things got heavy, that feeling of hope and happiness never faded and had me wanting to spend a lot more time with all of the characters.
I loved Bullet and Holly. Both are haunted by their pasts, but have found the strength to move forward. Bullet is loyal to his core. Holly is compassionate and has no problem speaking her mind. The journey to their HEA was an enjoyable one. The attraction was instant, but I liked how it took both of them a bit to make a move due to the whole Nanny thing as well as coming to terms with their pasts. But both do thanks to two adorable boys who are also dealing with their own demons and I like where they were at in the end.
As I said in the beginning, this one is a bit different than the first two, but I liked it. I love that Bullet, Holly, Tobias and Falcon were the focus of the story and not much else got in the way. With that said, I do wish that there had been more time spent on some of the issues/situations that came up in the book because somethings felt a little rushed, but that’s just my opinion. I loved catching up with the rest of the HG Crew and after all that happened in this one, I cannot wait to get my hands on Demon’s book!

Another great read in this MC series. Fast paced with a bit of action and a little tug on your heartstrings. Ill certainly be diving right in to Demon's book!
Another fantastic book by Ashley Lane! I've grown attached to the guys in Heaven's Guardians MC and this latest story did not disappoint. This book follows Hawk, aka Bullet, as he tries to move past the ghosts that haunt him and make a difference in the lives of two very special little boys. With the help of a nanny, Holly, he is slowly able to let his guard down and work towards giving the boys everything they deserve and more. Hawk, Holly, and the boys all face struggles along the way, but manage to support each other unconditionally. Ashley did an amazing job telling their story while weaving them into the MC life we've grown to know and love!
Ashley Lane just keeps delivering the type of stories that a MC Romance lover dreams of! She brings forth character's that have truly realistic and lifelike reactions and emotions. I also can't help but fall in love with not only the main character's in each of her stories, but also love getting to know those secondary characters who haven't gotten their own stories just yet. Ashley does a great job creating character's that are extremely like able. The women are individual, but carry similar characteristics, such as being strong, independent, empathetic and resilient. The majority of the male's character's are dark and broody, but foster deep love with their woman. They are protective, and while they do things many would see as unforgivable, they really are only trying to rid the world of those who, if you could justify murder, would be the first ones needing to be removed.
Haunted by Regret is book 3 in the Heaven's Guardian MC Series, and it tell's Bullet's story. Bullet decides at a somewhat last minute decision, that he will take on the responsibility of fostering two boys. Not realizing the full reality of the responsibility that it takes to raise children, especially 2, Priest recommends that he look into getting a Nanny. &That is where Holly comes in. She is currently working a dead end job, and is notified about the opportunity to become a nanny. She takes advantage of this, and is later hired by Bullet. Little did they realize that they had a similar traumatic background, which in part, makes them such a perfect fit for one another.
This book may have been a bit shorter than Ashley's first two, but she still brought an incredible story of growth, learning to trust, and what it is like to heal when you have a strong support by your side, along with what it feels like when someone finally lets their wall's down. Haunted By Regret brought it all, and it certainly is worth those 5 stars!
I rarely complain about a book being too short but this one was too short for the amount of story to tell……
Let’s start by saying that I chocked and tear up many times in this book. The brothers Tobias and Falcon are to die for. They come from an abusive father who Patch turned into their sinner. So the boys became orphans and were going to be separated to go to foster families, but Bullet wouldn’t allow that. And thank God for Bullet cause these kids are everything. Tobias single handed was responsible for most of my tears. Bullet made that decision in the heat of the moment, he wants to be a good father figure but he is hunted by his demons and what the hell does he know about taking care of a 10 and 3 years old boys. So there comes Holly the living nanny he hires, he immediately has an attraction to her and the rest is history….. The reason this book rated less than the first 2 in the series is because it felt too rushed. The story is literally the best one and it’s the most emotional one but nothing was fully explored. Their romance was so brushed over and we couldn’t feel like the other couples. Also it’s a crime the missed opportunities to explore the brothers love, life and Bullet’s love grown for them. The kidnapping was so brushed over too and very superficial, we didn’t see the suffering and guilt of Tobias and Holly, and we did not see the desperation of Bullet….. we heard about it, we didn’t experience. So to me this one had the best story to explore and the best characters but wasn’t developed. This book had the potential to make me sob uncontrollably and never forget the story, but alas was too rushed.
Bullet's story is the palate cleanser we didn't know we needed...while there is less graphic action in this one, it is definitely not lacking in emotional drama. This book begins where Book 2 left off and Bullet is beginning his journey as a foster dad to the two boys rescued by the Heaven's Guardians in the previous book. Everything becomes a little overwhelming and Priest suggests Bullet hire a nanny...enter Holly, a damaged yet incredibly strong-willed woman. Holly takes to the boys - and the club - immediately, but Bullet's stubbornness and reluctance to let himself be happy takes a toll on everyone. Will they become a family? Will Holly force Bullet to get his head out of his you know what? You have to hang on for an extremely wild emotional ride in order to find out! I have been a fan of this series from the beginning (still can't believe Book 1 was the author's very first book!) and each installment of the series gets better and better. The club brothers are the funniest bunch you could ever meet in an MC romantic suspense series (Angel is beyond compare) and their woman have fantastic personalities. If you haven't read the first two books in the series, that's okay because this can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend it. You will not be disappointed at all!
Wow, this was wonderful, it's not the usual Guardians story but it certainly just as emotional and well deserved, but the reasoning behind that comes at the end of this story, which I will not spoil.
Hawk 'Bullet' Bentley lost his family when he was 16 which pretty much made him the man he was today, when Tobias and Falcon would've been split up by the system he takes it on himself and fosters the two young boys. It's, of course not as easy as he thinks and Priest suggests a live-in nanny. Holly at a loose end and needing a better job gets a call from her friend Ivy about the nanny position. She goes, he hires her and this is where Bullets past starts to get in his head, he's not alone as Holly has a devastating past too.
Can these two damaged souls find what they have both been missing?
The two previous books Washed in Blood and especially Silenced by Sin will give a little understanding as to the characters and also Holly is mentioned in a story Anti-Venom in the Leave Me Breathless Ivy collection
I received a copy and I am voluntarily leaving my own honest opinion
Ashley Lane went somewhere totally new in the Heaven’s Guardians MC series with Haunted by Regret and I am here for it! While nowhere near as dark or gritty as the previous two books this one packs a heavy emotional punch that had my eyeballs leaking like crazy more than once. Focusing much more on the family aspect rather than the MC’s mission this book not only delivers wonderfully steamy romance but also shows a softer side of all these men that is reserved for the ones they loved. Bullet and Holly’s story gave a new level of depth to characters I already loved and made me love them all even more. Be prepared to lose your heart completely to Bullet’s new little family though. I think I I fell just as hard for his two foster sons as I did for him and Holly. This book will have you crying, laughing, swooning, and more on practically every page!
**If you have not read book one or two, stop now. You will NOT appreciate this book unless you do. The third installment of the Heaven's Guardians MC series, Ashley Lane provides a fresh take on our favorite MC. Haunted by Regret follows up on the previous book. Stepping up to care for two boys to protecting them from foster care, Bullet finds himself overwhelmed by secrets from his past. He hires Holly, a woman rebuilding her own shattered life, as a nanny for the boy. Faced with their demons, the story follows Bullet, Holly, Tobias and Falcon as they learn to live a new life together as part of the Guardians MC. Former characters of course show up in this story, bringing insight and depth to the story line. This story takes a different direction from the two previous books. I for one, loved where Ashley took this story. Her creativity with the story took my emotions to another level. I can not wait to see where this club heads in the future.
I gotta say I was counting down the days until this 3rd book in the series was released. OMG Ashley Lane you did not disappoint!! Unbelievable fantastic 5 star read!! I was hooked on this series by the first book and every book this author writes makes me fall in love more and more with these characters. Each book is part of a series but completely different. Opening up each book is a surprise but you are instantly addicted. The story, characters, EVERYTHING pull you in and reach to the depths of your soul. Ashley Lane knows how to deliver a story which makes you instantly crave more. I swear her books are like a drug. I absolutely fell in love with Bullet and Holly. I don’t think there was a point in this book that I didn’t shed a tear. Want your next fix, pick up this baby TODAY!!
OMG!!!! This is my favorite of the series so far!! Ok first just the way Bullet stood up for them boys. And was determined to try and take away their pain. Then their is Holly. Holly has been thru one of the worst things a woman can go through. But yet she is so strong and caring and I admire her inner strength. And when she comes into Bullets life to Nanny for his boys she loves them has her own. Even though it has to break her heart even though it has be reminding her of everything she lost. These four broken souls are slowly piecing their hearts back together with each other. I loved every minute of this book and look forward to reading the next book. I highly recommend this series!!
Hawk and Holly are everything! I’m a sucker for a good nanny romance and Ashely hit it spot on with this one. Hawk, Holly, Falcon, and Tobias were all dealt really terrible hands in life and all you want for them is to find the love and family they all deserve. Their past traumas helped them all form a one of a kind bond in this book and your heart really grows with them. The Heavens Guardians are a bunch of burly but soft bikers and Ashley really showed a lot of heart in this one. I’m always excited to see what journey she takes us on next.
This is by far my favorite book in the Heaven's Guardians MC series. Hawk "Bullet" Bentley doesn't know that his heart and life will be forever changed when he becomes a foster dad to two little boys who need Bullet. Tobias and Falcon have been through so much in their young life, that it is heartwrenching to know that their own father would abuse them so much. But Bullet also realizes that he needs to hirer a nanny, to help around the house and watch over the boys because he works at a car shop. Holly comes with her own secrets and takes over as nanny. Four people, with varying heartache, need to come together to start the healing process for themselves. I love this story of rebirth, forgiveness, and to know there is love in this world. I sometimes gloss over the author's note, but I didn't this time. I felt every one of these words for the story that was written. Well done, Ashley Lane! You did Bullet's story by far more justice than I have read in a book for a while. ❤
Bullet was such a different but wonderful surprise! Ashley went a different route with these characters but it was their story to tell. This story speaks volumes about an authors writing and what she is willing to do for her characters. She lets them speak to her and guide their story where it’s meant to go. This story is fabulous and wonderfully told. 🥰🥰🥰
Bullet has lost everything. When he takes in two young boys as foster kids, he realizes he needs a nanny for the two boys. Holly has a troubled past and is looking for work. A phone call will change her life. She becomes a nanny for the boys and is finding Bullet highly attractive. Bullet is attracted to Holly as well. This story is about second chances, finding love and a new lease on life. A great read.
the only saving grace of this book was falcon and tobias. i refuse to talk about the insta love romance, non existent chemistry between the main characters, poorly executed plot, and all over the place writing. thank god it has a single parent and found family trope so these tropes somehow made the book a little bit better and bearable to read.
Very cute! Very short and I read it in one sitting. It was honestly a great pallet cleaner. It’s short, sweet and adorable. I had a feeling I knew some of these characters but I couldn’t put my finger on it. Then I realised I read the second book of this series 2 years ago ahaha and I did enjoy it so I might give the others a read now then hehe
I loved Bullet's story. It was full of emotion and angst. There were tender, heart-warming moments and moments hot enough to melt my Kindle. I love these characters and can't wait for more from their world. I will definitely be recommending this book to everyone.
I really liked this book. I loved Holly and Bullets story. The only thing I felt was a little off was the ending. I felt it was kind of rushed. But overall it was very well written and I really enjoyed it.
Haunted by Regret is the 3rd book in the Heavens Guardians MC Series. I really enjoyed this story. Looking forward to reading more books from this series.
