This was so adorable! Satomi mistakes Kanda for a boy and when she asks her out, easily agrees. Then months pass, Kanda falls for Satomi and doesn’t know how to tell her the truth. It’s a premise that I didn’t think I’d find so adorable but these two have such great chemistry. The artwork was lovely! I liked the message about gender being irrelevant because Satomi fell for Kanda, it wasn’t about her gender.
I will say, this book does have a point that leans heavily into the message that genitals = gender which is pretty outdated.
Overall, I really liked this. I laughed out loud more than once and I just loved Satomi & Kanda.
I really wish there were more likeable GL manga out there because I gotta tell ya, these girls are so wholesome. The art is magnificent and we can all agree that their relationship buildup was worth it like my heartstrings can’t bear it. I waited a year for this to finish and it was so damn worth it 🏳️🌈🌈🦄😭😍🥰
Deren Dynamik gibt mir irgendwie so Disney Vibes. I don’t know.
Two girls, one relationship, this sounds nice right? Well, the other girl doesn't know her lover is a girl. :P
I just loved the premise of this series. It just sounds so silly and I was curious to see how long it would take that handsome boy to let Satomi know she was a girl.
I loved seeing Kanda and Satomi together, they really make an adorable and sweet couple. Kanda is more tough and boyish and Satomi is glitter and girlish. I loved seeing their dates and see both characters discover new sides to their lovers. For Satomi that is that Kanda doesn't like to be touched (which is logical given the boob situation and Kanda not having told she is a girl) and that Kanda at times doesn't seem to understand what to do in a relationship and for Kanda that is finding out that Satomi is a rich girl without a care about money or how it works and that she likes hot foods and strange plushies.
I did have to say it was quite funny in the beginning with Kanda wondering how to tell Satomi that she is a girl, but after a while it did get a bit annoying. Especially the part when we meet Kanda's friends and they make remarks. That would have been the right time. Though, even earlier would have been even better. Just tell her already, you have been dating for weeks, if not months. Just be a big girl and do it. This just isn't fair to Satomi. Plus, I am sure that she wouldn't mind you being a girl. Satomi loves you so much I am sure it will be OK. But if you keep it hidden.. well I am not sure if she will accept you then.
I did think it was funny that, I am betting my money that is a guy and thus her brother, Kanda's brother is acting and looking A LOT like a girl. :P
I did love the art, especially Satomi's design was just so pretty. Her eyes are amazing.
But will I continue this series? Yes, but I will probably wait for a new volume to pop up and not read the chapters as they come out. I don't want another x chapters with Kanda thinking she should say it but not doing it.
Eep. I liked the character /design/ for both (finally a tomboy FL) but not the storyline. The ‘FL not telling the MC she was a girl’ plot got old really quick, and I don’t care much for their relationship either aksjdjds.
Objectively its probably a 3 star. It's probably not that amazing to others. I can see why others may not like since theres some miscommunication since Ookuma didnt even know Kanda was a girl and theres that whole "It won't work out because we're both girls" line. But I still really loved this manga series so much that I would buy it in a heartbeat if I could!
It's a short manga series. Only lasting two volumes, the story doesnt drag. If they did try and make the whole thing where Kanda pretended to be a guy longer I dont think I would have liked it as much. I found Kanda and Ookuma's relationship so sweet and cute. She thinks the world of Kanda. She thinks that Kanda is super cool and awesome and it makes me so happy seeing how in love Ookuma is with Kanda. It's so stinking adorable.
I also love how they are able to Express their feelings so well. If miscommunication is something that bothers you I dont think you should just be turned off because Ookuma originally thought she was dating a guy. Because even with that, they still are able to Express their feelings. Little things like Ookuma feeling a bit down because Kanda always gives one word responses in texts. Kanda calls Ookuma and tells her that she just dosent like texting in general and is more natural and comfortable talking on the phone. This series is just so fucking lovely and I wish I could just buy my own physical copies. :')
