Rate this book
Drew Watts suffers the unthinkable, turning his world upside down. Driven by anger, he develops a cold and resentful demeanor towards love. Over the years, he transforms himself into a shrewd self-made billionaire. However, despite his wealth and success, his past still haunts him. Drew is determined to never endure that kind of pain again, by controlling every aspect of his life. Making a vow to never let others get too close, he steers clear of relationships. Instead, he treats women like sexual conquest, taking pleasure in dominating them.

Jasmine Williams is a successful Nurse practitioner, with her own practice. Possessing beauty and brains, she appears to have it all together. When she finds herself once again choosing the wrong man, she decides to take a break from dating. After almost 3 years of remaining single, she becomes content and believes she's better off without a man. That is until a chance meeting, with the mysterious Drew Watts.

As they both attempt to learn more about the other, the sexual tension builds. Finally, when the time comes it proves to be more satisfying, than either could have imagined. Although both are unsure of where things are heading, neither can resist the force which pulls them together. Just as they begin, Drew's past threatens their relationship and soon secrets they both harbor, change their lives forever.

Good read!!

Me Alexander, you said that is your second book... You are doing fantastic.Keep it up!
Drew, I hate the way you treat Jax at first, that wasn't right and fair, you know that she wasn't one of "Chanel's" type of women. And Jaz, you are amazing, you take a chance in spite of...but at time I felt like kicking your butt. Tessa girl's no words for you,you made a manwho** blushes!!
I felt for the Nina and Jaz's parents, and Diane, even though I like because in spite of your sins, you are a good mother to Jaz, but what you did was WRONG. JAZ missed so much because of your actions, however, sometimes things happened for a reason.
Drew,you are one lucky guy!!

It’s Complicated

Drew and Jasmine’s story made me chuckle, sigh, and swoon. The intimacy is so adeptly written that at times I felt discomfort-like I was reading someone’s memoir. I’m so glad this book kept me company this Saturday morning and afternoon. Well done!

Where do I begin? Let me first start off by saying what a great read. This book is filled with emotions from the prologue to the ending. The fact that Drew had believed in himself to go against his father’s wishes and persue is own dreams made me smile. Not everyone wants to be or live under their parents shadow. I personally could see, hear, and feel everything. Have you ever read a book where it just takes you away into that setting and you feel like your “living” in the book? That’s what that felt like for me. There was some heartache, and it was also heartfelt and has a loving happy ending. Splendid job M.D Alexander!

❤️❤️❤️

Somehow it was a sad story crowned with glorious sex scenes. I found myself wondering how it would have panned out had Nina not died. Loved the book.

Disappointed

The premise of the book was good but I didn’t like the execution. The book didn’t read like a novel but rather a series of dates. There wasn’t much depth to it. First of all apart from her physical appearance, I couldn’t see why Drew was attracted to Yasmine. She was boring and incredibly judgmental.
Without knowing him she decided they had nothing in common because he was rich. Her whole jealousy fit because of Drew hugging a lady was ridiculous. First of all they weren’t in a committed relationship, secondly she didn’t know nor stayed to ask what was going on. Her hypocrisy re him only having sexual relationships was irritating. Both parties were consenting adults so what’s the problem? Her friend Tessa slept around and she didn’t seem to have an issue with it. As for Drew, sleeping with your ex twin is
really in poor taste. He should have told her there and then before a relationship developed. He said that Nina’s parents were like the parents he wished he had but he was ok with never telling them they had a daughter who was alive? Sounds cruel. As for the whole cumbaya Ms Williams was a good mom even if she was a child abductor, I just couldn’t get with that. Not sending her to prison is one thing, being a big happy family is another.

4.5 Stars. What I loved most about this story is that Jaz and Drew dated and built a relationship. It was fun watching them get to know each other, and it was even better getting insight from their friends... they were a great addition.

The gotcha gotcha of the book was a little weird, but also a different spin. Looking forward to reading more from M.D. Alexander and I'm truly hoping that we get a story from Tessa... she stole the show in this book.
