Enjoyed visiting this characters who I fell in love with in Trouble in Loveland. I wouldn't read this unless you have read that book. Lots of crazy family drama in this one. I enjoyed it but not as much as the original. Definitely worth reading.

This was a quick follow up novella to Trouble in Loveland. I was hoping this would be like a long epilogue for Charlee and Ryan, but we didn’t really get a ton from them, and most of the plot was filled with secondary characters.

Bottom Line- It was alright. I would’ve like to see more with the main couple since they were at odds most of the first book, but it was nice to see them married, and I’m glad this had an epilogue and pushed out to the big event.

Random- I love any type of OW drama even in the form of grumpy in-laws, so I was down with the huffy mom of Charlee’s future stepmom but found it odd that she was so hung up and having such a fit that the dad didn’t want any more kids. Her daughter was 43 years old and the husband was in his late-50’s, the chances of her even having kids naturally is so small (around 5%), so it seemed cruel that she kept throwing it in her daughter’s face.

Being a newlywed is so much fun, but Ryan and Charlee have some trouble when drama enters their lives during their first Christmas as a married couple. We first meet Ryan and Charlee in Trouble in Loveland and I would recommend reading that one first, so that you get the full scoop on their relationship and all of the drama that ensues. This can stand alone, but I think it really helps to get that backstory to fully enjoy this one.

Ryan is the most doting husband and father and I love how committed and loving he is, especially toward Charlee. Charlee is patient, strong, and a bit of a perfectionist, but this couple is completely meant to be together. I don't know if I could be as mature as she is about all of the drama, but these two are definitely a good balance for each other.

As for the story itself, it's crazy and entertaining, especially when it all culminates at the end, but there are also some fun times. There are some really great characters that gave me a few laughs and quite a few moments that gave me some vivid flashbacks to my own past, but most of all, I felt the spirit of the holidays--hope, love, joy--permeate the pages, even in the midst of the chaos, to prove that true love can really weave a spell. However, my lips are sealed and I'm not giving away any more secrets.

In the end, Peel has done it again! She has written a story that will transport you straight into a realistic (and slightly humorous) situation with flawed characters, Christmas magic, and oh-so-swoony romance. What real situation is perfect? None that I know of, but Peel is able to craft the story in a way that allows a reader to escape enough to truly enjoy the story, but grounded enough to give a person hope for a better future. She is one author that I can't resist and I'll definitely be back for more.

Content: mild+ romance (implied marital relations--no details, but they are newlyweds; some innuendo scattered throughout; kissing)

Charlee's life is a bit chaotic. Between her new hubby and adorable stepson, school, practicum, her dad and Felicity's wedding, exes, her friends and just life in general, she is wiped out! She's definitely looking forward to a nice first Christmas with Ryan and little Josh. But we all know how life with Charlee is.... cRaZy! And nothing, I repeat nothing ever goes as planned!

So it should be no surprise when trouble makes an appearance in more than one place. I mean, how bad can it get?! Well... this IS Charlee were talking about! Let's just say when more than one ex shows up, her dad is on the verge of calling off his wedding, those red hooker heels make another appearance and both their mom's crash their vacation, it has Charlee wishing she can whisk her two favorite guys away to a secluded island where no one can find them!

But in true Charlee form, she's determined to save the day... or die trying! Everything has to be perfect for her first Christmas with Ryan and Josh. One should never doubt a feisty, determined woman... ;)

*dreamy sigh*

Oh my gosh! Guys! I absolutely LOVED this book! I busted out laughing, growled in frustration, wanted to Gibbs slap people over and over and over again, let out little dreamy sighs and fell in love with Charlee, Ryan and little Josh all over again! This is such a fun and amazing addition to Trouble in Loveland! Eeeeeeeek! I can't wait to read it again!

I've said it before and I'll say it again... Ms. Peel is a natural when it comes to writing! Is it any surprise that she sucked me in from the beginning and didn't let me go until the end?! She has a way of writing that makes me feel like I am right there with her beloved characters experiencing everything they are! I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next!

And yes... I can still see these two as Charlee and Ryan! *dreamy sigh*

It feels like Christmas today! Jennifer Peel has a new book and that always feels like Christmas to me. It's no secret that I am a Jennifer Peel fan. Like, leader of the club, fan. Honestly. She is fantastic and I haven't met a Jennifer Peel book that I haven't loved.

This book is a continuation of Trouble in Loveland which I would highly recommend that you read before this book. It's the book that begins it all for Charlee and Ryan. It's their love story. It is where you will come to love all these characters like I love these characters. Please read it. :)

I didn't realize when I picked this book up just how much I had missed Charlee. She is so fun and being in her head makes me smile. All the time. Charlee has a big heart. She is so kind and wish I were more like her. Even when her plans are ruined, when everything seems to be falling apart, Charlee is generous and kind (even when she doesn't want to be). Another thing I've missed about Charlee? Her very active tummy butterflies. I can't even begin to tell you how much those things amused me in the first book. Those active, swearing, sighing butterflies make me giggle.

This book is just full of Christmas plans gone wrong. A comedy of errors. But even in the midst of heaping family drama, Charlee and Ryan's love is the stuff happy sighs are made of.

Content: This is about a newlywed couple so there are references to intimate relations with no details, some innuendo and kissing.

I love the voice of Charlee with her humor and sass! This is such a fun sequel to Trouble in Loveland, and I definitely recommend reading it first! (Although not necessary- the author does a good job weaving the backstory into the narrative) It's always a treat when the continuing story of great characters is available, and even better when that story lives up to the first book. There is plenty of drama from family and friends, which only adds to Charlee's load as she is finishing up psychology finals and papers for her degree. An unexpected surprise throws her for a loop and it's great to read her thoughts as she tries to wrap her head around the big changes in her future. I would have liked more relationship stuff with Ryan, but those scenes were brief and not the focus of the plot. Recommend to fans of contemporary romance!

"The best laid plans...will often go awry. " Charlee is a fun character with an amazing voice. I love her sarcastic and playful thoughts and words. She is one to keep the reader on your toes.

She has her Christmas planned. She is going to spend it with her amazing husband and stepson at her father's wedding. She is in the beginning stages of her marriage, six months. She is going to school and leads a busy and full life.

While there are so many wonderful things happening, life has a funny way of changing your plans. I love how Charlee adapts. She has wonderful relationships with her family and she is completely in love with her stepson. She really has a great outlook on life.

This book is full of humor and married romance. (Yes, you can still have romance after marriage! Thank heavens for that.) There is a book that has background information and the courtship of Charlee and Ryan, unfortunately , I haven't read it yet. A situation that I plan to remedy. This is a great addition to the Timeless Romance stories.

The book does contain kissing and innuendo. It doesn't go into depth about newly wed relations.

Lots and lots of trouble...

After reading the first book, Trouble in Loveland, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this sequel! From the very beginning you jump right back into the trouble in Charlee's life, and it just keeps coming. Along the way I laughed at her predicaments, got angry at the ridiculousness of some characters, and sighed in contentment over the swoon-worthy romance. I absolutely LOVE Charlee- she is kind and giving, but knows how to set everyone straight. Definitely a great read!!!

All Charlee wants is to spend time with her husband and step-son. She wants their Christmas to be wonderful, instead she gets a comedy of errors! With exes, someone out to ruin her father's wedding, homework deadlines, sickness, and being dressed up as a ho, ho, ho, this Christmas is not going how Charlee expected!

I loved Charlee and Ryan in Trouble in Loveland, and was very excited to see them again! Six months into their marriage they still have chemistry that is sizzling, and a very sweet relationship. Despite the fact that everything is crashing down around her, Charlee handles everything with her own wit and flair. For anyone who has ever had a holiday go all wrong, this is the book for you! It will have you laughing, smiling, and thinking, "my week isn't so bad."

Series: Trouble in Loveland, it can be read independently, but I highly recommend reading Trouble in Loveland (it is one of my favorites from Jennifer Peel).

-‘We should have said no exes, but we assumed that was implied.’-

-‘...Oh, that was the wrong question to ask. It was like Ryan was begging fate, and fate said hold my beer and watch this.’-

This was such a fun book! Trouble in Loveland is one of my favourite books by Jennifer Peel and this sequel was just as good. I loved the humour throughout the story. It moves at a fast pace, is hard to put down, and is, oh, so romantic! The butterflies 🦋 were fully active! I highly recommend this book. It’s fantastic.

Ryan and Charlee are trying to be typical newlyweds, but with a half-crazy ex-wife, a dad about to get married, an ex-boyfriend needing advice, and two mothers who are not behaving, it's sure to be a crazy Christmas for the newlyweds! It was fun to revisit Ryan and Charlee and see all the trouble they attracted - life is never going to be dull for the two of them!

Last year their Christmas was pretty rocky so Charlee has the perfect surprise planned for this Christmas! If only they could figure out how to get rid of all the chaos around them. I loved that they were such a solid couple in the midst of all the chaos. And Ryan's reaction to Charlee's surprise was priceless!

I read Trouble in Loveland and loved it! I think she gave enough background and information about Ryan and Charlee that you could read this book without reading the first one, but read it anyway - because it's a fun read!

Content: Cleanish, PG-13. We are in the lives of newlyweds so there is a lot of talk about sex, but no details given

This is a difficult review to write. On the one hand, it's listed as a romance. Yet, the main character, Charlee, is already married and is enjoying the newlywed status. It might also be called a comedy in that there were times I envisioned Lucille Ball in I Love Lucy. However, in my mind, it's as much of a psychology lesson on the family and all the messiness of life such as divorce and intrusive family members. I guess that fits because Charlee is in the process of completing her counseling degree.

It's written from Charlee's point of view only. So, there's a lot of her thoughts mingled in with the dialogue. Normally, the amount of "thinking" would bother me, but this seemed to work.

Other reviewers have mentioned the innuendos and I would have to agree. The author has accurately pegged the behavior and thought process of a newlywed. That said, I'd recommend this more for someone who's married. Nothing ever gets graphic, but it doesn't take much for the reader to understand where her thoughts are going.

Finally, although I have not had a chance to read the first book, Trouble in Loveland, I didn't have any problems picking up where it left off. I can testify that this successfully reads as a standalone book.

Romance - steamy PG - lots of kissing and newlywed thoughts and innuendo between married couple
Language - PG
Mature Content - discussion of divorce, married relationships,
My rating - 4 stars

Charlee Jensen-Carter is looking forward to Christmas--she'll be spending it at an amazing resort with her sexy husband Ryan, her adorable stepson Josh, and her dad and his fiancee as they tie the knot. And when she finds out she's pregnant, Charlee realizes she has the best Christmas present ever for Ryan. However, their awesome getaway turns out to be an absolute madhouse as unexpected arrivals complicate everyone's plans. Soon, Charlee and Ryan need a vacation from their vacation--but Charlee's determined to make things better.

This was a fun Christmas read. Although this novella is a follow-up to Trouble in Loveland, you don't have to read that to have this make sense and be a fun story (I haven't read Trouble in Loveland--yet). There are funny moments and cringe-worthy moments--there were seriously times when it was painful to read this story because I could feel Charlee's pain! Great choice for a quick, clean holiday read.

I received a complimentary copy of the book. All opinions are my own.

I read the original Trouble in Loveland book and was thrilled to read More Trouble in Loveland. I really enjoy reading about Charlee and Ryan again. Charlee and Ryan's relationship was so rocky in the first book that I questioned how well their marriage would be. I loved reading how they had bonded since marrying and how they turned to each other with each disaster that seem to come at them in this holiday book. I highly recommend this book if you have read the first book. Readers will still love this book without reading the first but you will appreciate it more if you read Trouble in Loveland first.

This is a stellar companion book to Trouble in Loveland! All of my favorite characters (and not so favorite characters) are there and there is all kinds of chaos and family feuds going on! It is family drama times one hundred with crazy secrets and I loved it! Poor Charlee was dealt a hot mess and she played her hand beautifully! If you loved Trouble in Loveland then you absolutely HAVE to read, More Trouble in Loveland!

I loved this extension of Charlee and Ryan’s story. I missed Charlee’s wittiness in this one but life has defiantly caught up to her. I can’t believe all the craziness that shows up in this book. So many ex’s and people and mess everywhere. I loved it all and I loved the ending! I will be reading more from this Author very soon she is amazing!

For a married or older audience, still clean, and totally filled with family drama. Charlee is still loveable and Ryan finally made my amazing list. Short happy ending story about working out love and making love work.

A cute story, but I think it would have been better if I had read the rest of the series first. There were SO many characters to try to keep track of-with very little background. The story was cute & a fun Christmas time read.
The writing was good, so I would be willing to read more by this author.

A fun reread

While you can follow what's going on plot-wise without it, I absolutely recommend reading _Trouble in Loveland_ first in order to fully understand & appreciate what's going on with the characters here.

Charlee is a bit of a mary sue character, but I love her humor & strength. My favorite part is the climactic moment when everything seems to have disintegrated into complete chaos & then, well, let's just say it's not anymore. I'm not sure how believable that part is, but it's certainly entertaining

*Romance level: passionate kisses, lots of innuendo between the married main couple, nothing graphic, but not appropriate for younger teens
