Brave Enough to Follow: What Jesus Can Do When You Keep Your Eyes on Him

Rate this book
Simon Peter was an ordinary man of no social standing. And yet Jesus chose him to be the “rock” upon which the church would be built. This apparent incongruity begs the question, What does Christ see in you? In this book and Bible study for men, Stuart Briscoe retells the gospel account of Simon Peter’s interactions with the Master and explores how God wants to use your potential just as He used Peter’s. Includes discussion questions.

I did enjoy reading this book! My favorite parts of it were the reflection questions as they bridged the gap between Peter’s story and my own. There was great insight in what it truly means to follow Jesus and what comes along with it!

Excellent book. Incredibly challenging. Will cause you to answer soul piercing questions, as you mine God’s Word for Truth. Highly recommended study!

This book was given to me as a gift. This book in terms of writing or concepts wasn't earth shattering. I read it for a devotional at breakfast, and it obviously took me quite some time to get through it. The reason I gave it 3 instead of 2 stars was because I enjoyed the questions and reflection sections at the end of the chapter, this was the best thing that it brought to the table.

This book was great on a few levels. The Gospel in the Bible is already a compelling narrative, but this book made it into Peter's perspective, and made Jesus' ministry from Peter's view very personal to him. It also had some awesomely challenging questions at the end of each chapter that really made me reevaluate how and why I do things for the Lord

Not enough is written or taught about being good followers. Stuart 'hits the nail on the head' with this excellent book on discipleship. I highly recommend it.

5 stars it is! For it's impact still resonates in me since I read it 7 years ago, when I was just starting my Christian walk. It helped me be brave enough to follow Jesus at a young age.
