What a fascinating book on faces! It gave me a different perspective and appreciation for my face and others. When I talk to people, socially or at work, I'll sometimes notice - not just if they are attractive or not, but also how the facial features might give me insight as to how they spend money, how trusting they are of others, or their listening ability etc. Rose goes into great depth, with each chapter covering a different part of the face, and its corresponding characteristics, extremes, and examples.
Unfortunately out of print now so get your hands on a copy while you can!
There is so much wisdom and compassion built into this book.
It has the premise of "God don't make no junk", looking at how people's experiences, choices and inner changes have out pictured on their faces.
It's been a few years since I have read it cover to cover but I dip into this from time to time, especially to help me understand the people I come across at work better.
But also, I am looking forward to when I start to develop my own wrinkles. I'll understand what they mean, and Rose will have prepared me to have compassion for myself, as well as having taught me compassion for others.
I met Rose Rosetree and had my face read by her and was astounded at how accurate she was about me, she pointed things out and explained things to me about the make up of my face and I must say she was spot on with everything she said. So I bought this book and I must say I have amused many of my friends with reading their faces and they all say they will get the book too. Really enjoyed the book and think the author is a lovely lady :D
This book, which introduced me to face reading and remains my favorite face reading book, has had several editions over the decades with different names. I've had fun collecting the older editions on used book websites. They're all fantastic.
I have this book from Rose Rosetree as well as her two other face reading books: Read People Deeper and Wrinkle's are God's Makeup. This book is a great intro to face reading. If I see something on someone's face that jumps out at me, it's interesting to know what it means. I'll use that information to help me have a better social interaction. I purchased this before the pandemic but it's been quite helpful for Zoom meetings, as well. In addition, I've had a face reading done by Rose Rosetree, which really helped me appreciate my face more.
This book provides a different perspective on well-known public figures. We get to see how people grow, given the way their faces have changed. Face Reading by Rose Rosetree is definitely about freewill, not fate or meeting society's beauty standards.
This book is an extremely interesting, accurate, compassionate way to learn more about other people and yourself.
The way Rosetree teaches you to read faces, it's not judgmental or cookie-cutter, but subtle and fascinating.
It helps you connect MORE with other people around you and appreciate them more, in contrast to a version of Face Reading where you detach and judge. It's not judgy at all. It helps you appreciate people's talents.
Personally, I was told growing up that I have a big nose. Reading this book helped me to appreciate what the different aspects of my nose mean (different "face data").... and now I wouldn't give them up! No way!!! Now I know that they represent personal talents that I value!
I've also had an actual Face Reading session with the author, and it was stunning!
Among other things, she actually gave me some advice about how I can style my eyebrows for business meetings to (subtly) appear more managerial. The way she explained it made so. much. sense.
In short, this book gives you a really good, in depth start at reading faces for yourself, which is so much fun.
I especially love to check out various philtrums now, knowing what they mean! ;) (Who would have thought a philtrum was so sexy?)
I love this book. I find it so helpful to read faces using this system. It really helped me accept some of the “face data” on my own face, but I especially appreciate how it helps me to have more compassion for other people. It’s also incredibly useful at work and when meeting new people.
This book has so much practical information that I can refer to again and again. As I change, of course, my face changes. Not easy to notice, unless you compare a photo today to one from years ago. The photos of well known people really helped me understand how a person's talents and strengths show in the face. It also helps me understand my own strengths. The index is fantastic and I can just look up a trait and it directs me to multiple descriptions of the trait (and often a photo).
the sketches are not clearly dividing the areas, the book could include sample images of the "celebrity faces" which show the characteristics of that face part... all in all I got just a few new tips, but it´s better then nothing... if you are already into physiognomy it will not be that helpful
