Fed up with wealthy techies blip-blipping on their wangdangs and destroying the formerly gritty culture of Fog City, a punk lady moves out to the sticks to soothe her soul. Though she is only looking to escape, a mysterious and hairy stranger disrupts her plans and causes her life to change in unexpected ways.
Kind of hilarious comic where an angry (duh) punk woman is sick of urban gentrification in her neighborhood; she wears a t-shirt that reads “Resist Psychic Death” (which we agree with!). So swe cheer he leaves the city, moves to the great outdoors, carries around a coffee cup that reads “#1 Dad”. :) (I mean, a little bit funny, right? We like her. Punk with a sense of humor).
She gets the living heck scared out of her when she sees Bigfoot out of her window, but the unexpected happens! He moves in, they're an item, and so on. Better Bigfoot than the loser hipsters in her old neighborhood! I mean, who would you choose?! Obvs BF! Very funny beginning to this series. Silver Sprocket, gotta read 'em all!
Janelle Hessig doesn't do near enough work to satisfy me, she's one of the funniest, most laugh out loud cartoonists I know, but this is the first part of what promises to an epic tale of a punk who leaves the city to unexpectedly find love and romance in the hills. I won't say more, but I loved it and look forward to the next part. Great cartooning, beautiful color, landscape format, get it!
Ever want to escape the stresses and BS of city life? Looking for love in all of the hairiest places? Do you like little harry sasquatch-human hybrid babies? Then this is the comic book for you. Plus there are some perky boobs if that might motivate you. Personally, I was in it for the lols.
It’s totally funny and great and hilarious in that sly and insightful way that Janelle is! Punk zine with heart, you have to get this for people you care about or love! BIG PUNK FOREVER!
