The Bride of Banaras, however, doesn’t believe me. She caught me sneaking into her palace and is now ready to shoot me. She claims I am either a liar or a madman. There are no Correctors.
Well, I certainly did forget to take my medicines, but I’m sure I’m not imagining all this. Will the Bride believe me? Are Correctors real? Am I crazy?

Book Title: The Correctors
Author: Rahul Vishnoi
Format: Kindle

Book Title:
The title of the book ' The Correctors ' is apprehending and vague.

Book Cover:
The cover image of the book is a layered picture of young people. The image and the title create a sense of mystery and interest.

About the author:
Generally, it is said that a doctor operates and a writer writes. But how often do we come across doctors who are also great fiction writers? Well, Rahul Vishnoi, who I address has 'Doctor Author' is a super being to carry on both sides of the coin perfectly.

I have been following his stories and writing style right from his first book ' Who burned the moon?' till today's ' The Correctors'. The graph of excellence in his writing has increased and as a reader, I am so happy.

Plot:
Set on the banks of River Ganga, in the city of Benares, the story is of two bothers with names Saayan Bakshi and Ayaan Bakshi. For some reason, 8-year-old Saayan Bakshi takes up the responsibility of being a parent to his younger brother. Ayaan. Since the moment of becoming a parent, it becomes a habit of Saayan to help his brother overcome any kind of difficulty and risk instead of being the bait to the situations. With this kind of nourishment, Ayaan becomes invariably adamant and a rebellious character. This kind of mindset invites many troubles and Sayaan, as usual, protects his brother. As the days pass by, the selfless elder brother has to safeguard his younger brother from a tricky and complicated situation which turns out to be a fatal one.

What is the incident in which Aayaan is stuck? Who are the correctors and what is to be corrected?

My Review:
The book has a story that stays within a reader's mind for a long time.  The Author narrates a powerful story in a simple language mixed with emotions, strong characters, highly unexpected twists. The intrinsic details of every character and scene are one of the highlights in the story. Childhood is an important phase in any human's life. As the person grows up and shapes himself\herself into an individual, situations in and around the home effect. Such psychological aspects of one's life are described very well. The do's and don'ts of a person's lifestyle and pros and cons due to one's own deeds are explained coherently.

What I like:
1. Unusual plotline which is emotional and packed with shades of feelings.
2. A different way of portrayal of female characters makes the story unique.
3. Unconditional love can also push a person into unnerving problems and this is what Sayaan encounters.
4. The thrilling factor of the story is retained until the end.
5. Every character will be conceived by the readers from their own perspective and this is the most special trait of the story.
6. A story can be closed in many different ways which is a common thing.  But, the correctors will keep the readers awed with surprise.

What I didn't like:
Nothing to dislike!

Characters:
The author has exceeded my expectations in shaping up the different characters in the story. The characters are deep and vibrant but with dark shades of truth. The way each character transforms is just great. The best part of every character is their perception in many ways.

Narration:
The author has an exclusive way of narrating the story with his awesome storytelling skills. Though the plot is an emotional tale, the approach with an interesting plotline makes the book a perfect read. Be it the emotions between the protagonist and his brother or the role of society in shaping up a person or habits or focus on some ugly truths of the society, the author has made sure the message reaches the readers assertively.

Language & Grammar:
From the first page of the story, the author has adorned every sentence with rich vocabulary and meaningful words. Apart from the syntax of the language, his focus on semantics is extremely impressive. After a long time, I had an opportunity to read a fiction story with great language.

My Final Verdict:
A scrupulous and inciting story!

Book Title: 4/5
Book Cover: 4/5
Plot: 4/5
Characters: 4/5
Narration: 4/5
Language & Grammar: 4/5

I have read Rahul Vishnoi's previous work as well and he never ceases to amaze with his work. The concept of Correctors was refreshing and new. The entire plot is soo well laid! Definitely a must read .

The protagonist's imprudence towards his brother turned him into a monster. He used to bully, injure and harass people mentally and physically.
Both of them were abducted by four girls, who named themselves as the Correctors. The elder brother had to complete three tasks as repentance for his brother's dreadful acts.
The whole story revolves around the three tasks and the experiences of the two brothers.
The plot became a bit complex consisting of a plethora of twists and turns. It was a nail biting and riveting ride from first to last page.
We usually take our parents as granted but not having a *sensible* guardian in childhood can produce a monster for the society.
Well, to recapitulate, the narration of Rahul is mind blowing. His way of choosing proper words, style of sentence making and elaborating a scene with perfect details is germane.
I would cut off one star for the unnecessary explanation of less important scenes and overall the plot itself could have been a bit more simpler.
Otherwise I have no complaints.

"The Correctors" is one another book of our dentist author. And it definitely met my expectations. Thrillers get very serious with the plot right? But Rahul will give you crazy puns which will surely make you laugh like a maniac.

The story is about Saayan Bakshi and his younger brother Aayan Bakshi. Saayan had a very difficult childhood and because of some unforeseen circumstances he was forced to parent Aayan at a mere age of 8. Parenting is task in itself and Saayan's way of handling it was 'Love'. He was there to protect every wrong deed of Aayan. This unconditional love transformed Aayan into a bully. Suddenly, one fine day he found himself trapped into a web of Aayan's sins which he had never thought of. Aayan was kidnapped by 'the Correctors'. And to free him Saayan has to fulfill 3 tasks.
What are those tasks?
Who are the Correctors?
What did Aayan did in his childhood?
What was the fate of the brothers?

I absolutely loved this book. Especially the writing style. His writing style is very clever and witty. He is a master of entwining humor in thrillers.
He knows, when the plot is getting thickened he pops up a pun and you'll die laughing. It was a very fast paced book and you won't find yourself struggling through it. One more special thing about Rahul's writing style is that it is very casual and easy. Anyone can read it and love it. Not much brain storming is necessary because it is descriptive with lucid language.
Talking about descriptions one thing which I felt is, the book is too descriptive at times. Like, a huge to describe a little. ( this was the only thing which I can point out)

Coming to the characters I did liked the character of Saayan quite a lot. As he is a clear depiction that one can go to any extent for his family or for his loved ones. But that went wrong on Saayan's part. His affection spoiled Aayan and they both suffered the consequences.
The Correctors was a gang of girls and TBH I loved their character. It is not very common to see girls in a negative role but they were ruthless. They were cold and gruesome. Apart from having all the bad characters you still won't hate them.
All the other characters like Bholi the bride, Suresh the groom were developed very smartly.

Climax was something which I haven't expected at all. If I tell my exact reaction to you guys 'I was lying on my bed and reading the book and I instantly stood up when I read it and I was like WTF just happened' whole book will start playing in your mind like a reel. It was that amazing.

Overall I extremely enjoyed reading this book. And once again Rahul did an excellent job in writing this book. I will highly recommend it to you. If you're having some difficult days and want to feel light, pick this book up and I am 110% sure you will end up praising it and recommend it to others.

🌼Omg, holly shit this was so so so unique, why did it even ended. This is a newly launched thriller by the author and I picked it as soon as possible because when I read his last book, I knew he knows how to play with the readers mind and it was enough for me to get my hands on this within no time. This is a action packed thriller and villains here are girls, omg here I must appreciate for creating such characters and I am not gonna reveal anything though I know just one thing you need to read this, everyone needs to read this. From the first page to the last one, I was wondering and thinking and just thinking about each and every event that was taking place. It was miraculous and unpredictable. The author just hit the right target, I loved how it ended. The plot was well planned, a lot of things in just few pages is so amazing! .
The language was very easy, I wish it was a deep. Yeah it was dark though, I just appreciate the amazing plot, crafted well. I am a fan now, of the illusions and the scenes and everything. Definitely recommended, especially thriller lovers this is for you. .

Review : The Correctors By Rahul Vishnoi

2019 has been a good reading year. I discovered many authors, a few among them are Indian authors. One such author, I discovered very recently is Rahul Vishnoi, a Dentist by profession and a amazing writer by hobby. The book 'The Correctors' is Rahul Vishnoi's second book.

'The Correctors' is a story that kept me on my toes from the beginning to the end. It is spread in three genres : Suspense, Thriller and comedy.

The story revolves around the most eccentric characters such as the Bride, The Correctors, Ayan Bakshi, the protagonist Saayan Bakshi etc. The characters were so eccentric that left a huge impression on me, and shadowed my thoughts long after I had read the book. However you try, you just can't switch off their strong personality.

I was mightily impressed by author's writing style and narrative. Moreover, every nook and cranny of the narratives is polished to the shine, spellbindingly gripping and smooth as butter. It compelled me to read on stretch for hours on end.

The beginning shocked me, Thenceforth, I was invested in the story. It was a maze of sudden twists and turns full of laughter and unpredictability, jolting me out of senses.

Furthermore, the language impressed me. Neither simple nor hard hard to understand. One can see clearly the command of English the author has in the book.

Rahul's book 'The Correctors' has earned 5 on 5, for its high entertainment quotient and writing style. This book, I recommend to every readers, who don't mind reading graphically detailed Suicide and torture scenes.

What an incredible journey this has been. Reading this book.

"Miserable times are the best indicator of the good days you have spent without being grateful. You don't know you were happy until you get sad and cry for the better times".

Saayan Bakshi has this brother, Ayaan Bakshi. Saayan got caught in a gang where a bride and groom with goons were present. The bride holds a gun at Saayan and asks something. Saayan didn't know what he was doing there but he does know that something is not right and he may get killed at any time. When the Groom and his gang went away, he tried talking to the bride and asked her to listen to his life story. Bride agrees and he continues with his story.

In that story, Ayaan is a bully as Saayan saves whenever he does wrongdoings. Saayan heard a piece of news about Ayaan got admitted in a hospital. There he meets Chippy. That changed everything in his life. Chippy is not an ordinary person. She is one of the correctors. What is the corrector means? Why did Ayaan admit in the hospital? What has Ayaan done this time? Who is that bride? What will happen to Saayan and Ayaan? To know the answers, read this book.

It is a kind of thriller novel. I enjoyed it. Plot is intriguing and the written style is understandable. Saayan doing those three tasks are not fun. His guts are appreciable. The end was something I didn't expect. It is very impressive. Those girls are like they can do anything and mostly all of them are cruel enough to kill anyone who does wrong. Incidents are unimaginable. It increased my curiosity about what will happen next. Overall it is a petrified story.

A book to remember for its strong characterisation

.
There are two brothers Saayan Bakshi and Ayaan Bakshi. After their father’s death Saayan takes care of his brother Ayaan, he becomes his guardian. Their mom also left them and married another man few years after her husband's death. Owing to the undermined childhood Ayaan grows into an aggressive adult. Saayan is there to protect his brother from all the worst circumstances. Taking this as an advantage he continuous to do all the defiant things which hurt others. Little did Saayan knows that soon he would pay for his brother’s sins. Even this time Saayan puts his life forward to safeguard his brother from the correctors. Pick your copy to know how Ayaan had dig his own grave? Whether Saayan protects Ayaan this time? Who are these correctors?

So, generally a person’s childhood determines his/her life. This book explains how a dysfunctional childhood phase could affect a person. The plotline is perfectly chosen. The psychological factors mentioned are so true. I can say that this book is a package of twists and turns. The character development adds a point. I felt the pace is slow and the narration was dragged at the beginning. It gears up after few chapters. On the whole the book entices the readers with its strong characters and narration. It is a good treat for thriller lovers.

Getting bored ? Want to keep laughing while reading a thriller ? Then you've got to read this book.
The witty one liners, crazy comical scenes and bizzare happenings are worth your time !
Saayan Bakshi loves his little brother Ayaan. Dysfunctional family life and troubled childhood makes Ayaan a difficult kid and later a difficult adult. Anger, bullying others and stubbornness more or less became his coping mechanism, although Saayan knew this was wrong but couldn't be strong enough to stop his little brother from doing these. It dawned upon him that he could have shaped his brother's life in a different way when Ayaan was undergoing surgery and he himself was being beaten and tortured to death.
But, wait. Is this really happening or he's deep into imagination ? Because this is too gruesome to be real !
The Author's writing style is undoubtedly amazing ! I laughed a lot ! The story was totally unpredictable ! But what I didn't like was sometimes the descriptions were too much, like a lot to describe a little. Apart from that, no complaints !

Just as the Rule says Every Elder person has to take care of the Younger one, same way here Saayan is the Elder and Ayaan the Younger. Many a times it happens that the Younger one comes out to be a little mischievous, loved more by parents and that makes them naughty. Likewise in this Story Ayaan is a very naughty, mischievous and Saayan somehow manages to control his acts by keeping him safe and protected. But he suddenly gets kidnapped, how and when ? Who are the kidnappers? Who are these correctors and what kind of tasks they have given Saayan to let him free ?
Will Saayan be able to rescue his brother ?

I am very much impressed with the cover of the book as it is showing a boy followed by 2 girls and the Subtitle 3 tasks, 30hours and 3 lives. This book has created a curiosity among me and I don't want to spoil the contents by mentioning the details.
The Subtitles actually caught up my attention and made me read this book.

Book is very interesting with not more characters and at times there is fun element as well. Language is simple.

Overall Ratings :4/5

Some people know how to keep their readers at the end of the seat and this author is one of them. This is my 2nd book of him and like the previous read even this read was great.
This book is about 2 brothers and a group of girls known as 'correctors'. Saayan is the elder brother and Ayaan is the younger brother. Because of the love Ayaan turned into a bully and this was the reason for his kidnapping. Now Saayan had to fulfill 3 tasks given by the kidnappers 'Correctors' to free his brother.
The characters are very strong. But I liked the thing that this story showed girls in negative side which most author dont prefer to write. The book is fast paced but at some places the author has dragged it soo that was just one off thing about the book. The writing, the narration everything was on point.
How his love for his brother turned him into bully? How and why was he kidnapped?
This author has a long way to go with his amazing writing and amazing stories.

The Correctors

Book name - The Correctors

Author - Rahul Vishnoi

Ratings - 4.2⭐

Its something out of the box story. The Cover and the Title create a sense of mystery.

Plot - This is the Story of two brothers Saayan Bakshi and Aayan Bakshi, due to some incidents in their childhood, Saayan was only to look after his younger brother Aayan. He helped him and procted him from every single problem. And this care and love from Saayan turned him to a Bully. One fine day Aayan was kidnapped by "the Correctors."
And to free him Saayan has to complete 3 tasks.
What are those tasks?
Who are the Correctors?
What did Aayan did in his childhood?
What was the fate of the brothers?

Language is simple and easy to understand. Author did his job beautifully. He portrait every character in such a manner that may find you interesting. Great Plot with outstanding narration. Thriller with humour it's a own kind of combination.

Saayan Bakshi is being forced to perform some tasks to redeem something that his brother Ayaan who is a bully did. He ends up in a palace to perform one of the tasks where Bride of Banaras (is she really?) and her Groom are present. Now who are those people who are forcing Saayan? They are a gang called Correctors. Who are Correctors? Why are they after Ayaan? How will Saayan get out of this mess?
.
This is the second book I have read by Rahul Vishnoi and I must say he has a different way of narration. It kind of hooks you to the story. Witty, humorous, thrilling and elaborate detailing is what his books are all about. Strong storyline is a major plus here. The author really takes care of major details (which are gruesome at times).
.
Overall an entertaining read. The story does get dark at places but it makes an refreshing read.

The freshness with which the writer entwines his stories in simple words is undeniable.
Talking about the book:- Rahul starts with a subtle message as a reader it is always fun to read the hints and pops before starting the book, shows the intentions of a writer very crisply. An approximate of 2hr read this book floods light on a story of siblings and how one of them is kidnapped in the lieu of the other
Put very sharp and to the point, the story is very grasping. The writer has truly managed to keep things very much intact and omitted unwanted narration, thus giving a reader exactly what they want. I am disappointed with the editing, for a story and narration this nice, the piece sure did deserve better editing.
The subject is super fresh, dynamics and angles are very thrilling and are worth every reader's time.

Book is really interesting and fun filled. The story is about two brothers and their life's journey. After their father's death, they were left all alone as their mother discarded them, from where the two set off to making their own perspectives. One went into doing wrong while the other was all about saving his brother. And then one day the latter had to pay for the sins of his brother and this is what the story is all about. How a child's mental state is affected in lack of guardianship has been explained in the story in very interesting way. It's funny and thrilling and exciting and lucid and grasping. Great work by the author.

The Correctors is a thriller where the protagonist has been kidnapped by four girls. They want him to do three tasks in return for his and his brothers freedom. Why? You have to read the book to find out.
I must say, the tasks are truly unique and written in quite detailed way. They take the story forward. The flashbacks that come on between open up a while new story and give you relevant background information. At the end, as the novel draws to a close, you will be shocked out of your wits. One of the best twist I have read in the books.

First of all the blurb of the story seems like a hero of the movie explaining all the situations he faced in 24 hours and what is the thing he was made to do for correctors, the title seems different to other books, when I saw the cover I thought this is kind of horror when I read the blurb I felt this is like an Indian movie, but this is a good one, very good entertaining book I read from long back.

Saayan is being forced to perform the tasks to save his brother Ayaan, who are these correctors? are they real? why they took ayyan?

answers are in the book, grab a book and read it

First and foremost, this book is little too graphic at times, so trigger warnings violence, abuse, blackmail, suicide. It was fast paced read and the plot was intriguing. The climax was pretty unexpected, I didn't see that coming. I couldn't believe Aayan Bakshi's actions when Saayan describes them, it was too inhumane. I also felt that the correctors were also cruel, though I did agree Aayan deserved it, it didn't justify their actions.
