The Back Room Bookstore series is starting to wrap up all its story lines in the second to last book in the series.
After searching for her identity for most of the series, Holly finally finds her twin sister by randomly running into her and her boyfriend at a Romp-A-Roo match. Figuring out if it's luck or something much darker is a great conundrum for the characters to deal with. We want Holly and her twin to have a happy reunion, but the book would be bland if she did. Plus, the rest of the information on Holly's ancestry is awesome.
Otherwise, the Romp-A-Roo games continue, even as many mystics disagree with the diversity of the Wysteria team in a previously witches-only sport.
The murder mystery comes in second to the rest of the story lines in the book, but that's okay, because there's so much in this novel that everything can't be given priority. Seeing Double ends up as one of Susan Harper's best books yet.
As we come towards closing the series out. Only one book left. There is so much going on, and most of the questions have now been answered. Monica is still refusing to talk to Abigail after the revelations from the last story. Will they ever be able to be friends again? Holly meets Grace, her twin sister that she's been looking for, for over a year now. Holly's parents come for a visit and someone attacks her and tries to burn the house down with her in it. Monica's potion is finally ready, and Holly's birth mom comes as a shock to everyone. As things draw to a close for this book, Wisteria is preparing to go to war. The head of Remembrance has made herself known. And it's someone thought to be dead for many centuries now.
I !like this storyline that focuses on a twin witch with very little power. Monica is mostly happy and has a good assortment of friends. There are back to back bookstores, one in the human world and they other in the paranormal world. The characters are well developed and likeable. The plot and subplots move quickly, making it hard to put the book down. Can't wait for the next adventure.
This one was like reading 2 books with all these wonderful characters involved. Holly met her family and knows who she wants to be. I can’t wait to read whatever happens next to everyone. I am very glad that Monica and Abigail are friends again. I missed their give and take with each other. Couldn’t put this one down till the end. 👍👍👍👍
Holly meets her sister, and Holly tries to throw the best family reunion of adopted, biological, mystic and mortal families together. Families don't always blend well, secrets, lies and the truth will be found out. Monica gets a surprise visit. Read and enjoy!
Holly has a sister. Could be a good thing, could be a bad thing. On the good side, Abigail is now a human being. On the bad side, she's 12 years old physically and largely mentally and that causes problems. Morgan Le Fay? Yep. Romp-a-Roo: success or failure for the team? Oh, yes, another murder.
This book resolved the ending of the previous book nicely! It did, however bring to light some serious nastiness and quite a large twist. I am really looking forward to the next book now to find out what happens. I can’t wait!
One of my favourites of the series. Abigial is human, but not the way she wants to be, sorry Abigail! Holly finally meets her twin soul sister, but is it a coincidence or not? Monica and all her friends have another murder to solve in the mystic world.
