Can Ro Andrews, an overworked, undersexed, exasperated single mom, find love with Sam–a man allergic to chaos and crumbs—and make it stick, not sticky? When new divorcee Ro Andrews moves her pack of semi-feral children to a run-down farmhouse, helping her brother restore the moldering homestead and living an authentic life—per the dictates of Instagram and lifestyle blogs everywhere—tops her to-do list. But romance? Hell, no. Between hiding from her children in baskets of dirty laundry, mentally eviscerating her cheating ex, and finding a job, Ro has a full plate. Until she meets Sam Whittaker, a hunky Texas transplant with abs of steel and a nameplate that reads Boss. Clad in cowboy boots and surfer curls, this child-free stud has Ro on edge—and rethinking her defective Y chromosome ban. Somehow, this overworked, undersexed, exasperated single mom needs to find time to fall in love with a man allergic to chaos and crumbs.
I loved this contemporary romcom so much! An exasperated single mom meets a very handsome cowboy who considers himself allergic to chaos and crumbs - how fun is that? You just know this is going to be a bumpy ride for all concerned! Touching moments, raucous hilarity, and an end that makes you believe true love is possible - no matter where, when, or who you are. Check it out today!
I can't believe I failed to leave a review the moment I read this warm, funny, sexy book--I blame Sam, I was obviously spending far too much time thinking about him! Some Assembly Required is only for those with a strong bladder and is best enjoyed in private, or you'll embarrass yourself with muffled chortling. It has all the warmth and romance of Hallmark (and makes this Aussie wish we celebrated Thanksgiving. Oh, and that it snowed here!), but the perfect level of steam to leave you dreaming. And unable to remember to write reviews, obviously!
Robin perfectly combines Bridget Jones’ Diary style funny romance and the chaos of motherhood. Throw in a Texcan cowboy hunk, heart-warming hilarity, and a hit of steam and you have the perfect romance read.
This book is laugh-out-loud funny! Such an awesome read. I was snorting and snickering from page one and couldn't put it down until I finished. I can't wait to see what this author dreams up next.
I absolutely loved this book and the characters in it. Ro is a single mom of three rambunctious kids who leaves Chicago and a cheating ex-husband to move to a fixer upper farmhouse in a small town with her brother, sister-in-law, and their twin toddlers to start a new life. Taking a part time job at a grain elevator where her office is the end booth of a small diner and her boss is a standoffish grump, she deals with nosy neighbors, an eccentric mother, a menagerie of rescued animals, and crazy chaotic accidental messes at every turn. In spite of everything, Ro manages to find love in an unexpected place and the happy ending will have readers cheering for several of the characters amid almost constant laughter with almost every chapter. This author has a way with words that provides vivid imagery and insight into the chaos that is Ro's life and I honestly can't wait to read what she writes next.
This is definitely not my type of book for a number of reasons. I gave it three stars to be fair to the author because I believe she will appeal to a different audience. There was a lot of cursing, some of it vulgar, and I prefer books that are clean. There’s also a lot of sexual content, some of it rather graphic. I will say it has a lot of humor and if you can tolerate the R rating, you will probably enjoy the book.
