While I respect that every person's relationships are a matter for them to work out between themselves and the other parties involved, I found this book to be a load of self-indulgent codswallop typical of a 'me' generation whose prime motivator is satisfaction of personal desires and everything (and everyone) else has to conform to those demands. To further the self-justification, they wrap it up in flowery terms like 'love' and 'self-development' but at the core is a desire for safe promiscuity - safe, that is, as long as nobody else finds out! And that fear is derived not from the contravening of social mores - the male protagonist is quite happy to flaunt his affair just as long as he's getting what he wants; after all, society tends to wink at the randy man who is getting 'a bit on the side' - but from the realisation of the devastating effect it will probably have on others who are important to them. (spoiler alert) When the inevitable occurs, the most understanding comes from a son who films his own copulation with his wife so they can share their 'love' with the rest of the world. And therein lies the fundamental flaw of this hypocritical nonsense: sex and love are NOT synonyms!
