We met. Our eyes locked. But I wasn’t free, and neither was she. I watched her walk away and her memory has haunted me ever since.
We meet again in paradise. But my life has been destroyed. I’m a ruin of what I used to be, and I send her away.
“Get out. You’re fired.”
“Nanh,” she answers.
“What do you mean, nanh?”
“I mean I’m not leaving,” she answers. “I’m staying right here.”
Little Brat.
We look at each other. Her in cheap servant's clothes. Me in my wheelchair.
Battle lines are drawn.
And if you think this romance isn’t going to be epic, then you don’t know TT.

Okay, Amazon finally accepted my review! My goodness! The HOOPS ARC reviewers have to go through to post an honest review is ridiculous! Maybe it's because of it being an ARC but seven different reviews is too much! And then Amazon posts it as December 15th when it's actually December 17th! RIDICULOUS ACT YET! _______________________________
Rashid, a beast of a boss but Mika rules his heart!
The vivid world of Theodora Taylor's 50 Loving States series just got even better with her latest addition, "Rashid: Her Ruthless Boss" and I LOVED IT!
The hero, Rashid was an awesome father with a sweet and loving daughter but an uncaring spoiled wife who was a bonafide cheat. Mika, the strong and caring heroine was also an endearing and loving parent who learned too late that her husband wasn't what he appeared to be as we the readers are given back flashes of how her deceased husband's family maligned her on every turn after she fled Hawaii leaving her only family behind.
Rashid and Mika were attracted to each other from the start in the story but Rashid was married and honorable; whereas Mika was more so on track with keeping her new job as nanny with previous characters, Holt and Sylvia's kids while helping her sister, Jazz pay for their father's healthcare.
A year or so later, Rashid has lost his sweet daughter, father and wife in an awful accident and he's no longer the nice man he was before. He's hurting inside after his lost and confined to a wheelchair with dark, dark thoughts. Zahir, another past character in the series and Rashid's cousin offered Mika a job as housekeeper in Hawaii but little does she knows, just how hard Rashid has become. Oh well, Mika not having it ! She's bold, clever, spunky and was able to get her ruthless boss to see the errors of his ways... eventually! Gotta admire Mika's devotion and tenacity on every turn! And Zahir and Faizan's too! Did I mentioned how Mika was a noisy one too while reading all of Rashid's text from bossman Rashid's phone regarding Stone... too hilarious!
"I know it’s hard to stay here after losing that sweet little girl, but that’s what you have to do for her. Keep on living. Learn how to walk again. Dance now that she can’t. That’s the only way to make her life worth it. To make your life worth it." - Mika
My goodness, it's so hard not to give away spoilers in TT's tales but it is what it is! Just know this, this story was emotional, funny and smexy as all get out leaving me with curious interests in what will happened with Jazzy ...
Uffff 🔥 🔥. From first page to the last, I enjoyed every page. Mika and Rashid were one super hot couple. Rashid’s recovery was very inspiring to read. I loved him and his man bun! Stone had a tiny scene in this which I enjoyed. Zahir, Faizan, Mika’s son all complimented the story very well. Can’t wait to read Jazz’s story. Recommended.
I am a huge fan of Theodora's work and re-read them when I am in need of hot romance that just takes over your body. I had been looking forward to this book and was sooo eager to read it.
But unfortunately, this book just didn't do it. It felt incomplete and rushed and lacked her usual magic. Her usual brand of pain, darkness, light, magic, obsession and love was missing
I liked Mika and Rashid, but they didn't communicate at all and Rashid went from suicidal grieving father to wanting a life with Mika awfully fast. I felt like we didn't get to see Rashid and Mika together, there just wasn't enough scenes together for them and they barely spoke to each other also there were hardly any scenes with Rashid and Albie and for me when there is a kid involved, I need to see the relationship grow with that child as well.
All I can say is the book just didn't feel complete, the bones of the book are good but the end product just doesn't do it justice. After reading it I feel unsatisfied and disappointed.
Omg. What a beautiful ending to the Broken and Ruthless series. Theodora Taylor never seize to amaze me with her work. Rashid and Mika’s story was the perfect story of finding love after lost. It’s a must read! And I’m here excited all again to see what’s going to happen with Jazz and her new hubby. Lol we’ll be in for a ride people!
Rashid: Her Ruthless Boss is an amazing story that held my attention from start to finish. All the characters combined made this story memorable. Rashid and Mika are strong characters but are multidimensional and very well developed. Albie was hilarious! From loss to despair to Love. Fantastic read.
When reviewing books by Theodora Taylor, I'm typically pretty critical. Why? Because I know the author is capable of turning out an excellent book. While Rashid wasn't perfect, I have to say that this is my favorite Theodora Taylor book. Yay! I don't want to give anything away so I'll keep the review short. I liked both Rashid and Mika a great deal and the events that take place had me feeling all of the emotions. Be warned. While their attraction is instant, this is no insta-love story. The one problem that I do have is that the ongoing mystery involving Mika was wrapped up far too quickly. Almost like an afterthought in my opinion. At the end of the day, I fully recommend Rashid and give it 4.5 stars. I received an ARC of Rashid in exchange for an honest review.
This book did not live up to the hype. I was expecting much more from TT. I was excited to read about the fireworks between Mika and Rashid, but they never happened. I felt that the story was rushed, with it advancing several days and weeks in mere paragraphs, and the intimate moments were not given much attention or details that I'm used to from this author. Disappointing. Hopefully Mika's sister, Jazz, story would be much better.
5 Plus Stars for this HAWT bwwm second chance suspense billionaire romance! I just want to thankTheodora Taylor for always delivering a true IR with great story lines, written well and for the heroines that look like us. Plus this book is HAWT! 🔥🔥🔥BUY IT!!!
Whilst I enjoyed it, I felt there was something missing from the story for me. I would have liked a lot more interaction between the couple about their relationship. There was a lot of build about the couple but enough dialogue between them. Worth a read!
This book has all the feels. Rashid and Mika are both survivors of their own individual tragedies and neither is really looking for love. When they meet sparks fly but quickly fizzle as they both have lives that are already complicated, especially with Rashid being married. A year or so later they meet again, and although the spark is still their, so much has transpired in Rashid's life that it takes all of his strength to make it from day to day. Mika is also dealing with her own troubles , what with her past trying to knock down her door and possibly end her life as she knows it. These two have so much going on, it's wonder that they even have time for each other . Leave it to Theodora Taylor to find a way to bring these two together and in true TT writing fashion. Rashid: Her Ruthless Boss is a emotional roller coaster of a read with many ups and downs, but also has the passionate encounters that you would expect from a TT read. This not a love at first sight romance , but is a hard fought and won love and if you're looking for an intriguing entertaining read, I recommend that you give Rashid and Mika's story a try.
Rashid A new beginning What can I say? It was sad, the children were a bright spot. Rashid was broken physically, emotionally and mentally. This story had sex, pulled on your emotions early on and continued throughout. I throughly enjoyed anytime Albie had any lines. Another great read by Theodora Taylor
Rashid suffers a devastating tragedy that tore me apart. We meet his little girl, Aisha a bright light in his otherwise loveless marriage. When he loses his daughter and grandfather, he no longer wants to live. Enter Mika! A woman his daughter wanted as her permanent nanny and the woman that Rashid had a brief and memorable encounter with at his cousin Zahir's wedding. Mika's now been hired as a temporary replacement to look after him in Hawaii. Things don't go the way that Rashid intended because Mika upends his plans.
Mika has her own demons and when she tries to escape them other people pay the price. Her answer is to never get involved with anyone ever again. But there is definitely a burning flame between Rashid and Mika and it eventually explodes leaving them both stunned in the process.
Is the hero ruthless? The hero is indeed ruthless in his feelings for Mika. No games! He makes it clear he wants a future with her. A future she is afraid to want given the dark cloud under which she lives. This story is one of my favorites and resides right up there with Stone's Story. I loved it!
What did I think of the book? Well for staters I think Mrs. Taylor should just shut up an take my money lol. This story is about second chances in love. Rashid hasn't had it easy especially being in a loveless marriage of duty. His only light is his daughter Aisha unfortunately and fortunately when he crosses paths with Mika it's instant chemistry. A tragic loss brings these two soul mates back together and from there their story just takes off. I really enjoyed this book and I also loved seeing previous characters. That's what makes Theodora books so addicting her characters are great I mean they just have layers that you slowly get to peel back and it's always so great to see them in other books or she a another side to a story already told. I can't wait for the new spin off to this loving series.
I received this through ARC for my honest opinion but once again I've also purchased it.
I remember when the accident concerning Rashid and his family happened in Zahir book.
And I always wonder what happen to Rashid once he lost everything. So you can only guess how excited I was to FINALLY read his book.
My heart broke all over again reading about his daughter dying. Reading that part all over again, I have no words but you can really feel the deep sadness from it.
I didn't care for his wife or grandfather, especially reading them in this book.
I remember how Zahir kept saying no to the mall, because of the safety. But the grandfather didn't want to hear anything of it. Their grandfather was one stubborn old fool. And Rashid wife was one bitter person who treated her child horribly.
Later in in the book, there is a part where Rashid actions and words causes him to look unflavorable. And in fact he loses brownie point with me.
Because of the way he speaks to Mika about her son, infront of her son. It's very disrespectful, & the fact that she doesn't call him on it makes me upset. I am very much in agreement with Mika's Younger sister Jazz. When she tells her that she could not believe she allow him to speak that way to her. No one and I do mean NO ONE, would speak that way about my child and I don't say anything back. He's a child and he wasn't doing anything wrong.
But Rashid really knows how to make up for his actions and words. And in the end he gains more than just the brownie points he's lost with me.
Now there are some scenes where Mika really bites her tounge a lot. But she also puts her foot down on a lot of other things. She really had me laughing a lot in this book.
There is a part that confuses me which is towards the end of the book. It felt a little bit rush. And a tad bit unexplain. I had to go back couple of times, since the change of scenery had me extremely confuse. I kept thinking " What the hell!? Did I miss something? Did I skip over something?"
I also had questions about Mika husband. But then I realize that all well that ends well.
I cannot wait to read Jazz story and it makes me wonder how she and Han meet. I feel that Jazz story is going to be a very interesting one. And I cannot wait!
With that being said I am going to end this review with this, Frying pans are very handy in all types of situations. If you dont believe me then watch the Disney movie Tangle. Lol
I remember first meeting Rashid back in Zahir's book, so knowing just how much the character had suffered before I tucked in to his story, I know I was in for a ride. Poor Rashid went through it. Mika is also a character first introduced in another book by this author, Holt.
When Rashid and Mika first meet, there's an immediate connection between them. Trapped in a loveless marriage that produced a daughter he adores more than life itself, Rashid suppresses his strong attraction to Mika putting his daughter's need for stability before his own feelings. Mika is also as enraptured by Rashid as he is with her but along with his being married, she is running from demons. When they part, they can't help but wish timing and circumstances had been better but do not speak of their spark to each other. Soon after, Rashid's life is tragically ripped apart and he is thrust into a depression he is not interested in recovering from until Mika ends up in his life again. Suddenly, he's met with resistance when he makes demands and he can't just walk all over Mika or hide away from her has he's done with others.
I wasn't sure what to expect with Rashid's story. While some other heroes in this series also have serious baggage that they must unpack, Rashid's oversized suitcase is so heartrendingly tragic that the unpacking would be very difficult. The author did a good job with showing Rashid's progression from deep despair to slowly dealing with the losses of in his life as well as how his attraction to Mika and her being around kick-starts him being able to heal himself as she challenges him when he wants to wallow. I really liked the dynamic between Mika and Rashid. The chemistry is good and I enjoyed how Mika is able to bring about Rashid's changes by not bowing down before him but rather giving him reasons to try even if the initial reasons were built on anger and spite before it became about love and hope.
"Rashid" is a lovely romance and I hope to see follow up of Mika & Rashid's journey in the upcoming book featuring Mika's sister, Jazz.
I very much enjoyed this book! It's about loss, tragedy and love all packed into this really great story. I enjoyed how Mika and Rashid's story was tied into the Keane, Stone and Zahir's. One of my favorite things about this book is the character of Mika. She is just awesome. Strong, spunky, loving, empathetic and sexy. I just loved how her relationship with Rashid blossomed and then went down the road to kinky lol Very nicely done. They are soulmates and you will believe that reading this book. Theodora Taylor is one of the most talented IR writers around and she proves it yet again with this installment of the Ruthless Alphas series. Absolutely recommend you read this book!
When you don’t know how the story is going to turn out and you feel bad rooting for chemistry and what you want to be a happy ever after. I freaking love this book finished in one reading and loved every single page. There was suspense, anger confusion love of a parent, love and sacrifice for a child and what you think is best. I am never disappointed with Ms. Taylor’s book they just keep getting better and better!! Rashid is crazy hot. I cannot get enough of him. You will be in your feelings and all over the place but you will totally LOVE it!!!
Dominant, sexy Rashid sufferers a betrayal. He is in a loveless marriage, then an unexpected meeting has him wanting something more. Mika knew she shouldn’t want what isn’t hers, but the body, heart and mind wants what it wants. Tragedy strikes sending Rashid on a destructive path. Mika is being terrorized, she’s running to save herself, family and Rashid. Mika receives an offer she can’t refuse to have what she has wanted. Will Rashid and Mika find their HEA? This steamy story will hold your attention until the end.
Rashid did not disappoint! It was well worth the wait! What a journey from grief to anger to recovery to wild passion to the despair of loss to rejuvenation to a happily ever after to the suspense of what will come next! I love how Theodora Taylor blends all the elements of romances of the past and yet leaves you hungering for what will come next! ... Ruthless Triads ... Always an intensely satisfying read!
I couldn't wait for this book, and I was definitely not disappointed!Rashid was so heartbroken and had lost so much,to the point where he didn't want to live. But then came Mika...😂This chick was awesome.Always a step ahead of Rashid. They were just great characters.I love books where the characters are not perfect...because honestly most of us aren't.I loved the fact that Rashid had a disability, because disabled people do fall in love like everybody else, but some authors aren't interested in showing that.Well not TT!Book was awesome I only have 1 complaint and that is about Mika's son Albie.I know Rashid was hurting but if he had stepped to me about my son like he did Mika about Albie....we would have had problems.I know he apologizes to Mika but he would have to apologize to my son too.He got off too easy for that BS.But other than that the book was perfect! You should definitely read!TT didn't disappoint as usual.Worth the wait!
I have loved every book in the "50 Loving States" series. "Rashid" started out with a fairly good premise. The story had me hooked, although the "text stalker" angle was tepid at best. I loved Rashid and Mika's chemistry, but the story just kind of fizzled for me, and the ending seemed contrived. Hoping better luck with the next story!
After Rashid lost his family in the horrific accident. He becomes a recluse. Due to his own injuries he's has shut himself off from everyone. Mika remembers meeting Rashid before his accident and how handsome he was. She's offered a job to be his housekeeper for the summer and decides to take it. Will Mika be able to get through his cold exterior he's built around himself or will he be lost forever. I loved this book. I loved how tough Mika was and how dominant Rashid could be. Another excellent book by Theodora.
This book has all the making of a five star book. The romance between the Rashid and Mika is hot and sweet at the same time. I even really loved how Rashid has to deal with his problems and confront demons. It’s just lately it feels like Tt rushes the story line a bit. There are only a couple of steamy scenes which is disappointing because there is this buildup of certain tastes Rashid has but that only really gets explored once. Then the rest of his tastes are discussed in short little paragraphs. Additionally she has done the ending like this several times and it’s just a quick wrap up. It was kind of disappointing. It’s get 4 stars because it still is a good book just wish it was longer with more details.
Theodora Taylor gets better and better with each darn book! How does she do it? When I think I love one hero so much, here she goes, giving me another hero to love. I remember Rashid's daughter too from Zahir's book. But was totally shocked when I read it in this book. No spoilers! But wow. I guess I will go on and say that Rashid is my favorite hero so far, even though I have said it about other heroes of TT's, including Stone. She gives us something fresh and then teases us with another hero. Wow! I stay thirsty for more.
It took me a minute to remember Rashid but then I remembered him from his cousin's book. This was a slow burn with Mika and Rashid. Mika thought she was condemned to a life of being a lonely nanny all because of an evil ex. Rashid was living a life strictly for his grandfather with only the light in his life being his little girl. After tragedy both were forced together and ended up finding happiness again....after a whole lot of turmoil!
I really enjoyed this book, but not as much as some of her other books. The chemistry was there, the lead-up was there, but they just seem to be gaps in the story or maybe it was uncomfortable transitions. I don't know. It's still a winner and now I'm going back to read Keane again.
