The Broken Academy 4: Pacts & Promises by Jade Alters is an amazing story that I have fallen in love with from the begining. This is book number four in this amazing series and I can not wait to read the next book. I highly recommend this amazing book to everyone who loves reading about magic and paranormal romances.

This is a great series and this latest addition is a fab fast paced continuation and is every bit as thrilling! Tons of action and adventure, danger, drama, romance and twists and turns and had me on the edge of my seat the whole read!

Note: I received this book from the author and I voluntarily give this review, it is my honest opinion.
This book shocked the heck out of me, I was not prepared for the events in Pacts and Promises. I liked the story but I was a bit surprised how much my feelings came into play.
To stop the fiends that have been set loose, the Council and the Kyrie have teamed up to stop them. Pacts and Promises is an Emery book however since it's a team-up there is a lot of scenes with characters from Cece's story, including Cece herself. I love Cece so much, while I thought Emery was a good character but not exactly my favorite. So seeing Emery in scenes with Cece and the aggression and negativity that Emery eludes towards Cece is not my favorite thing. Yes, Cece has done somethings that I don't like and she regrets but there were also plenty done to her and she is trying. Emery is still getting use to being from under her parents' control and she has grown a lot but she is still stuck in a certain thought pattern that needs to be changed.
Emery's story was never a reverse harem and things are finally brought to a head in this one, Emery makes a choice and I saw it coming. I am to use to reading reverse harems, Emery is good with all of them but I can see how that with the guys the harem wouldn't have worked out, Rock is too aggressive, Hoster isn't confident enough and Darius is Darius. Honestly, she could have chosen anyone and it would have worked but I could see the storyline leaning towards her choice.
The overall story with Pacts and Promises was exciting. A lot of magical history was revealed, it was interesting seeing the two groups work so closely together on this quest to correct the mistake that was made. While Emery was a pain, I still like her and I have some theories about the other characters in both books. There were so many things that happen including a couple of major twists that made me have all the feels. I believe Cece's book is next and after the shocking cliffhanger, I am excited for what I believe is Cece's final book.

This book has so much going for it. We've got the Broken Academy on one side and the Kyrie on the other. Bringing them both together is an ancient evil, the Fiends, that hasn't been on this world in so long they were thought to be myths. It will take both sides fighting together to defeat the Fiends. This is not as easy as it sounds. Neither side truly trusts the other. Fighting between themselves is not going to make it any easier. I was so happy that Darius finally got out, but after two years he's just not himself. I love that Emery is not willing to lose him after everything. This book has so many good things happening despite all of the bad happening at the same time. Rock is coming into his future as the Chief of his tribe, River is no longer an outcast, Helena has proven once again how strong and caring she is, and they will need everyone to pull this off. Not only are the Fiends a danger, but a new danger has appeared, the Lotus, and considers everyone a danger. My heart broke and I cried when the Lotus attacked Hoster. I can't wait for the last book. In this book the Broken Academy and the Kyrie must come together to defeat trials where they can posses the books that are needed to discover how to kill the Gray Fiends. In the first task 5 Broken Academy and 3 Kyrie go into the never ending stair well but a tremor is released and the group breaks into 3. After they get through then they decide to be a war with each other and the advisors break it up. The next 2 task are strictly for the Broken Academy students and help each other along the way and succeed however now they have to fight the Lotus. While one of the Broken Academy is killed the rest escape with the aid from the Dragons. The remaining make it and the 3 ancestors will be reading the books for them however the Lotus show back up and drop blood from the ancient Normans and within minutes the Fiends are trying to get to it and Serge and Emery contain them until the very last second and all of them gone and some of them are sucked into the vortex also and Emery finds that Hoster is there also. Cant wait to read the next!!

This latest chapter of the Broken Academy story is absolutely thrilling! With the Fiends wreaking havoc, the Academy must join forces with the Kyrie to stop them. Unlocking the Forbidden Shelves beneath the Academy, a mixed team of 8 must brave the illusions and traps to find the ancient tomes that will give them the knowledge they need. This leads them to search for more tomes, one with the shifters and one with the witches. Finding the tomes brings the group closer but also brings them to the attention of the Lotus. Success in securing the tomes leads to the death of one of their own at the hands of the Heden, one of the Lotus. When the Fiends are brought to the Truce Camp where the Academy and Kyrie forces are gathered by Heden, they must fight together to defeat them. One lost will save them and will be prepared by another to aid them in their final battle against the Lotus.

4.5***** Whew what a ride I was taken on with Pacts and Promises, book 4 in The Broken Academy series. The grey fiends are loose, tentative alliances are being formed, new enemies are causing trouble and friendships are tested. This was such a great read, each book just gets better and I can't wait to see how it all ends up in book 5, though it is going to be sad to say goodbye to everyone at the Broken Academy. So many characters are coming into their own powers and they are being tested to the limit. Choices about lovers and friends are made and some hearts will be broken. The ending of this has me desperate to read the next installment.

Wow where to start
The return of ancient Fiends has threatened the lives of all, Emery is the Academy’s only hope.Emery and everybody needs to come together and figure out what to do let bygones be bygones to settle an old ancient score to save all!!!!
This story is like a wet dream making me warm moist and intoxicated from one eye popping ravenous page to the next. This story was intriguing and on kept me on edge from the very beginning to the jaw dropping end!!

Fourth book in series. From Emery's perspective mainly. The battle continues with the Fiends that coerces The Kyrie and The Academy into a truce. However they develop another enemy, The Lotus. Things escalate as the truce-combined allies search for information on destroying the Fiends by going through trials through their specific entities. One of their own dies. I won't say who but it's devastating. New romances build while some dissolve. We are not technically left with a cliffhanger but you know there is more. Plus it states by the author a final book is on its way.

The 4th book in this series seems to have gotten slightly darker. Emery's (FMC) story continues from the book 2 and although i knew (or i just found out) this book wasnt an RH one i kinda hoped that it was gonna work out that way. Mainly because liked Darius, Rock and Hoster as a trio and they would have a great RH but nevermind. Wishful thinking on my part there, lol. Some parts of this book shocked & some parts of it annoyed me. Not the story but some of the characters but overall this series is action-packed and fast paced. Im dying to see how it ends. Cant wait for that

This is book 4 of a series and must be read in order to understand the ongoing story. I loved this book, there are plot twists and excitement and I like how the books alternate between Cece and Emery as the 2 female lead characters as it gives more understanding to the characters by seeing the story from alternate points of view. I have always enjoyed this authors books but this book and the whole series leaves her other books standing! Cant wait for the next one!

Pacts and Promises, book four in The Broken Academy series once again follows magician Emery Dalshak, along with her friends Darius, Hoster and Rock who are now working with Cece’s group to help save the Academy from a group called the Fiends. As the two groups work together, new friendships are forged, and new romances are formed while some begin to fizzle out. When the group goes in search of the ancient tomes, will they be able to find what they need to stop the Fiends? And will Emery and Cece be able to work together to help save the academy?

Holy shiznet!!! This is another gr8 story in the Broken Academy series. Loves thought to be are changed, and new lives bloom. The trials that have to be taken leave you on the edge of your seat. And a new threat is born with the Lotus. I can't wait to read the next story. I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs up

This series is fantastic! This is book 4. Full of action, suspense, danger, and adventure. The characters and storyline are great. There is alot going on like good guys working with enemies. What a twist of a story. I was glued from start to end. I can not wait for more. Amazing work Jade!

Another fantastic book. Not sure how the author keeps writing fantastic book after fantastic book, but they do. Another great book in the series. I really love how the characters keep popping back up and we learn more and more about them each time. The story just keeps getting better and better.

A new enemy appears that seems to be unbeatable for even the most talented Academy students. A prisoner is released from his dark and lonely cell, but is he salvageable? A new alliance if forged, but can the two sides ever really trust each other? Three quests will be required to gain the knowledge to defeat the enemy. But will an even more powerful enemy cause all to be finally lost?

I’ve gotta admit, I haven’t read the first three books of this series yet. But after all the magic, action packed adventures and steamy moments. I definitely will be reading those and whatever comes next! This is a great read, if you enjoy magic, shifters, complicated love lives, and Academy books, then this is for you!

Awesome read. 4th book in the series and the story keeps getting better with a great storyline and wonderful characters that we root for and have to follow on their adventure. Can’t wait for more from Jade to see where she takes us!

This is a great continuation of this series. Things definitely speeded up in the 4th installment. I was surprised by the turn of the story, but in a good way. So much suspense and action! The characters are really starting to come into their own. This was such a nail biter of a book!

I am absolutely loving this series! It gets better with every book. You think there can't possibly be any more twists, and there you go into another that blows you away. This has quickly become one of my favorite series! Highly recommend
