i thought i'd rehash some stuff i already know but this ''beginner's guide'' was way too simplistic for me. and there was none of the ''step by step guide'' contained in the title. this really could have been the length of an article and it would have been OK. so much of the book is so generic that it seems almost seems AI/ML generated, and if that is the case, it's a pretty impressive feat, but a waste of time nonetheless. you're better off reading anything else on machine learning.
The first section of this book was interesting where it covered some fundamental. I totally lost it when the author focused on examples like email and Siri being machine learning products. Though that’s the truth but focusing on half the book on such examples made it boring. Ok to skip this one !!
This was an interesting survey of the topic. Good introduction to the importance of data and the most common (current) models. Thought the discussion around programming languages was also interesting.
