Everybody knows the story of a brave Harry Potter: he was the great wizard who conquered Lord Voldemort. But have you ever heard the story of a Wimpy Harry Potter? Harry's a regular kid, who hates fighting, and just so happens to be named Harry Potter.
But he's not the Harry Potter you're thinking of!
Coincidentally, this Wimpy Harry Potter does go to Hogwarts, and guess what?
Hogwarts stinks!
It's just like every other school! Mostly, it's boring, but it's stressful and embarrassing and scary too! Plus, at Hogwarts, there's actually evil teachers, monsters lurking in the basement, and those awful Slytherins always teasing everyone about magical blood purity!
It's a mess.
Read Harry's diary and you'll learn how to survive at school--even if you never wanted to go in the first place!
Diary of a Wimpy Harry Potter is a parody, aimed at young readers who enjoy Harry Potter, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, or Mad Magazine style parodies. It's a silly fun read for independent readers.
Don't waste your money. I don't have any experience with the Wimpy Kid books, but as a Harry Potter spoof, this is horrible. And the book features a moment that will NEVER be funny to me - Harry and his Two new friends ride in a horse-drawn carriage. One kid tosses a firecracker in front of their horse as a prank. THIS IS A DANGEROUS THING TO DO IN REAL LIFE - WHY IS IT USED AS "WACKY HIJINKS IN A KIDS' BOOK?!
There were also spelling and grammar errors and it just didn't feel like there was any effort behind it.
This is the story of Harry Potter—no, not that Harry Potter.
Harry’s been sent to a magic prison called Hogwartz. He’s good with a yo-yo, but he’s not a talented wizard.
The dialogue was open and honest, and I think it was actually better than the real Harry Potter books, although the kid did talk a little too much. The whole thing was written in a language that you could actually understand and relate to much better than the Harry Potter books.
Of course, there was far too much wizardry stuff for my liking, but the kid was fairly smart and witty. I also liked the drawings.
