I appreciate having fuller character story lines in this genre, such as the first few books of this author's One Less Traveled series. This one though didn't come together as I'd hoped. The marriage story line and the sex/angst never came together and the result was a mediocre story that was hard to finish and felt sad at the end. The stars here are more for the ambition than the actual execution.

Another SUPER book from JC Wittol. It’s been a while (almost 18 mo), but this author never disappoints.

This book is so full of surprises that I can’t say much without REALLY spoiling the story. There are troubles and there are victories and the characters are more fully fleshed out. There’s a lot more to them than we had previously seen.

One of the real strengths of JC’s writing is his characters. He makes them real and thoroughly likable/understandable in unusual circumstances and they work so well together. Although these characters are acting outside the lines of normal, it’s only at the edges that they stray to the “wild” side. For me, it helps me examine how strictly bounded conventional life is and causes me to disregard those wishing to strictly enforce convention.

Some reviewers were a little disappointed in the second book in this series Twisted Choices (Friends with Benefits Book 2). I had faith that it was a solid bridge to the next story. I feel my faith was well rewarded and the many questions/story lines that were included in my review were answered or explored.

Thanks JC for another wonderful tale.
