A Second Chance Becomes Trouble After leaving his cheating ex and New York City behind, Mackenzie Byrnes wants to celebrate his new life and new teaching position in New Gothenburg. Only he ends up at a club in need of rescuing from a jerk who won’t take no for an answer. After that embarrassing mess, Mackenzie swears he’s on a man ban. His resolve lasts until he runs into the handsome bouncer who saved him, and then he hands over his phone number, hoping for a date.
A Stalker Who Can’t Look Away Travis “Eyes” Hughes has two jobs—spy for the president of the Kings of Men MC, and nightclub security. When Travis saves a sexy blond from getting groped against his will, he gets the urge to follow him home to make sure he arrives there safely. One night of watching turns into a habit Travis can’t shake, and an impulse he won’t deny.
Lies Exposed The closer Travis gets to Mackenzie, the sloppier he becomes. When his half-truths begin to catch up with him, all hell breaks loose with the Kings of Men MC, and Mackenzie finds out Travis isn’t who he said he was. With Travis’s lies exposed, a cop hot on his trail, and his brother in jail—he’s sure he’ll lose Mackenzie as well—but he might be surprised by the strength a certain kindergarten teacher possesses.
I spend most of my days writing, editing, and perfecting the craft of storytelling.
A note to readers: I don't hang out on Goodreads or social media, so if you have any questions about my books, please check out my website, which I host with M.D. Gregory.
Although slightly better than the first book, this was still nowhere near where it needed to be, and I don't think I'm willing to give this series a third chance. Even if the ratings do suggest that the books become much better from here... I just don't have faith in it anymore.
One of my main complaints with these books is the over-abundance of sex. Emotional or generally important scenes are cut short, or even ignored entirely, in favour of more and more sex. Sex is basically the driving force of these books, which I'm personally just not a fan of.
Something I've also noticed is that the Motorcycle Club in these books is not very... brotherly. The loyalty, friendship and brotherhood, which are supposed to signalise these kind of clubs, are severely lacking here. The members all seem to either despise or fear each other. The only one who seems like a somewhat good friend to the other members is Tim (otherwise known as Undertaker), and he is literally a complete creep who enjoys hanging out with corpses. So, that should tell you all you need to know about that, really.
The main selling point of this book in particular is probably the stalking aspect. Travis is a bouncer and motorcycle club member, who happens to rescue Mackenzie from sexual assault. Travis follows Mackenzie home afterwards, and just... keeps watching. Returns. Keeps watching. Until (in my opinion far too soon) he decides to approach him, and then they.. become involved, and things go from there. Anyway, I liked the stalker plotline. I thought it was interesting, and I liked it. I wish it was explored a bit more though, as I would have liked to see more from it.
When it comes to the characters, I have to say that Travis really surprised me. He was much.. softer than I imagined. He was really gentle, and almost insecure. He was clearly lonely, and simply didn't quite know what to do with himself. He was a wholesome stalker, if that's a thing. He was also a bit simple, though. As in, he clearly wasn't the brightest bulb in the shed. Mackenzie on the other hand kind of confused me. He appeared to undergo some sort of personality transplant throughout this novel. He went from sweet and innocent to bossy and confident. It was a bit weird, and made it difficult for me to get a good read on the guy.
All in all, this had a decent relationship with some good drama, that unfortunately does not really go deep at all, since most of their conversations turn into sex almost immediately. Their relationship was also a definite case of insta-lust/love.
There also wasn't much of an interesting plotline going on here outside of the relationship.
This was fast paced quick read. I liked Travis "Eyes" despite his stalkerish tendencies. He was protective and loyal to his family and friends. The chemistry between the MCs was good, and there was always plenty going on. MacKenzie was an okay character but I think his past ties with MC in San Diego through his father and brother as well as cheating ex-boyfriend were the plot lines that were severely unexplored. There were so many things that could have been done with them but the author took another road. This was a decent story with a touch of gore and blood, mean bikers and a bit of love. I liked the story anyway.
Ki Brightly and M.D. Gregory continue to build their world of New Gothenberg in King's Eyes. The second novel in The Kings of Men MC series, you can read this as a standalone. Characters from other stories are in the periphery and don't play an essential role in this story.
I've read several stories in the New Gothenberg world now and I like where Brightly and Gregory are going with this. It's an interesting place, the characters are complex and I'm enjoying the relationships.
Audio performed by Kaeomakana Tiwanak, I think this narrator's voice works better for softer characters. Mr. Tiwanak does a good job with the swift pace of these novels.

4 Star Review King’s Eye (The Kings of Men MC) by Ki Brightly and M D Gregory
AUDIO REVIEW:
The authors Ki Brightly and M D Gregory as well as narrator Kaeomakana Tiwanak are all new to me.
From start to finish I was hooked. I was drawn to Mackenzie Byrnes and Travis “Eyes” Hughes and the story that the authors wove.
Rescued by Travis from the unwanted attention of a man who refuses to take no for an answer, Mackenzie swears off men.
Travis is intrigued by the oh so hot man he rescued and wants to make sure he gets home safely. However there is more to Travis than meets the eye. Not only is he a bouncer who handles security for the nightclub but he is also the “eyes” for the president of the Kings of Men MC.
As their relationship develops, what will happens when Travis’s lies are exposed, will Mackenzie forgive him or will Travis lose the man he has fallen for?
The vulnerability that both men show, made for an emotional listen. I loved how supportive Mackenzie was as Travis dealt with his brother’s issues. King’s Eyes is a story of suspense, secrets, heat and had me invested from the start.
1.5 stars. Twinky kindergarten teacher meets creepy biker gang "spy" and falls deliriously in love in like the span of a week or two. Imagine someone stalks you and like creeps outside your windows and you're like, 'this is the one for me'. Nah fam, this one was not for me.
Hat mir auch gut gefallen. Ich mag einfach die Brotherhood 🥰, aber mir war es an mancher Stelle doch etwas zu dramatisch. Nicht Travis, unser sweetheart, sondern Mackenzie 😂🤷🏻♀️
Narration: Let me say that the lack of stars is for narration here. Kaeomakana Tiwanak has a cute, young, twink-sounding voice, and if he’d read just the parts for Mackenzie (maybe slowed down the cadence a little) and there had been another narrator with a deep voice working as a team for this reading Travis’ parts, I would have given the narration 5 stars (hopefully). But unfortunately, it didn’t, so it was distracting at best. It actually caused me to miss important parts. Like a description of the characters. I’m going back to the ebook and reading the series. But I’ll be poking my head in to see when the next comes out to see if the writers sort this.
Story: I started with this book, and that seemed to be okay. It is a series and should probably be read as such, so I’ll be reading it in order sometime next month. I even picked up book 1.5, King’s Rogue, to read as well. I think any fan of Sons of Anarchy should probably read this. It’s like an MM version! I loved the dual POVs idea. Its always a plus in my book, but like I said before, I would have really loved a proper voice for Travis.
I liked both the main characters, Mackenzie and Travis. Whoever thought a stalker could be endearing?! LOL Travis is a stalker…there’s no other way to say it. But lol it works with the story, and I actually liked him a lot. His motivations are clear and written well. But he’s a bit distracted and it costs his brother instead of himself.
Mackenzie had some twists to his character that I also really liked. Yeah, he had a cheating ex in New York, but he also has a family history with an MC back in California. That brings Travis to lie, and trouble ensues from there. We meet a few of the characters from the MC, and I’d like to get to know them a bit.
Let me just say this, these are NOT the cuddly non-criminal bikers! Well, they may be cuddly, but they aren’t law-abiding. It seems like a great storyline with great characters…so I’ll be pushing the series in my to-be-read list!

4.5 stars. Only rounded down at the end because I felt like the ending was a bit too open but I really fucking liked this and I’m not sure why I hadn’t read it before because I remember loving the first instalment in this series.
I adore this concept and have only read maybe two other books that explore the idea of a darker romance type. Travis is the “Eyes” for the leader of the MC which essentially means he’s a spy. He doesn’t really get his hands dirty so much as he’s supposed to deal in watching and information. This of course sets his character up well as a stalker — watching is what he’s good at, it’s ingrained in his personality.
Travis sets eyes on new to town Mackenzie, not so as sweet as he seems, the Kindergarten teacher. Mackenzie is a super intriguing character — the author establishes him as this soft, family oriented but in the bedroom he is a spitfire. Meanwhile, for most of the sex scenes, big tough biker Travis is restrained, pushed and folded in half like he’s born for it. It’s EXPLOSIVE and just *kisses fingers* pure magic.
The weird relationship that Travis has with his club did kind of pull me out of the romance plot though, and it wasn’t really clear to me whether or not they actually cared for him despite them saying so. It just felt very superficial especially with his constant claiming that they were his “brothers”. Idk whenever I read MC series I really feel the need for those connections to be explored in depth for me to buy into them sacrificing everything for these clubs. Otherwise I’m just sitting here being like “they’re so bad for you baby, take your man and leave” and that’s exactly how I felt here.
All in all though, this was super fun and yummy. I’m on the fence about reading the next one because prison romances both thrill me while also filling me with an immense amount of anxiety and I felt like Charley (Travis’ brother) wasn’t 4D enough in this book for me to be interested enough in finding out. We’ll see!!

I really enjoyed reading this impressive, suspenseful MM/MC romance. The plot is well-written & interesting with unexpected events & splendid scene descriptions. The well-developed, impressive characters are perfectly flawed & are at times quite dangerous, one of the main characters (Travis) displays determination combined with devious intentions to obtain what he desires while the other main character (Mackenzie) starts off being rather naïve. There is: a MC rider (Travis aka Eye) acting as a bouncer/club security at a nightclub (Black Out) saves a male kindergarten teacher (Mackenzie) from unwanted attention & the attractions flare between them but Travis becomes careless & Mackenzie discovers his secrets but is determined to stand by him, Travis’s brother (Charley), a MC club (The Kings of Men MC), their leader/president (King), a rival MC club (Warriors), law enforcement, twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, secrets, adventure, action, deceit, devious plans, MC rivalry, danger, threats, enemies, conflict, violence, memories, emotional turmoil, paranoia, attractions, verbal banter, stalker-like tendencies, confrontations, disagreements, illegal activities, complications, compromises, love, contentment, steamy scenes & a satisfying conclusion.
Travis appeared to be the stronger than and the protector of Mackenzie in their relationship. But the story turned the other way around that MacKenzie stands strong supporting Travis who are at his weak moment. It is a very touching story unlike the other books in the series because the two MCs are fairly equal who are at their early stage of their profession. They are both a bit lost in their direction and try to build out. I enjoyed their exchange of dynamic along the way. I also enjoyed the brotherhood the author portrayed in the NG world. A great read in the series. I am glad I went back to read the book 2. Now I read a few in the series and found myself really enjoy each one a bit more as I see the fuller picture of the characters. I do think readers need to read all these books to appreciate more of the interrelated stories and characters.
Secrets always come to light. Mackenzie leaves his cheating ex in NY and moves to Gothenburg for a new teaching job. He goes to a club to celebrate and is unwelcomly pursued by a man who won't take no. He gives the bouncer, Travis, who rescues him his number hoping for more. Travis secretly keeps a distant eye on Mackenzie and it soon becomes an obsession. Travis' other job is to work humint for the club Pres. There are problems with a rival club, the Warriors. There's danger, conflict, rescue, romance, loyalties questioned. Above all there is the loyalty and family of the club! Great story. Lots of action and adventure. Great group of club members. I hope to read some of their stories. I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I love MC romances and I just recently got introduced to M.D. Gregory so this was a no brainer to agree to review. Though this was more a sweat, hot and sometimes angsty novel...with very little action.... not saying it was bad I really enjoyed it but it took me a long time to read it. I just had a hard time finishing it. I loved Travis, he really was the sweet and vulnerable one which seems kind of funny but you know the tougher they seem sometimes the sweeter they are. Mackenzie, he was Travis's strength and he wasn't a pushover which I liked... I just felt the story was missing something, but I can't name it... though it hasn't stopped me from liking this authors work.

Ugh. Travis made me want to punch him on the face. lol Why couldn’t he just talk to Mackenzie?! Good lord.
Overall, I liked these two together. Mack had his own hang ups about MCs and I wish we had gotten a better understanding of that. Maybe a little more back story.
Travis was, admittedly, a bit creepy. All that stalking. Just watching Mack when he could have BEEN with Mack made me frustrated. Still, Travis turned into someone I wanted to comfort, especially after the deal with Charley. He just didn’t know what to do with himself.
I’m enjoying the perfectly imperfect characters we are meeting in this series. There is a raw human element to them that appeals to me.
Eyes is a bit different than most of his brother's in the club, as well as his blood brother. He's definitely not a hard core type of biker, even though he's often right in the middle of the action. The attraction between himself and Mackenzie is certainly stirring up trouble for both of them, especially when one belongs to a MC, and the other hates everything involved with MC's. Will their attractions to one another be stronger than their differences? What about when an unwanted third party gets involved? Will they stand strong together, or will reality be too much for them? You'll have to read it to find out. I would definitely recommend this book, series, and authors.
This is a good book to read. Mackenzie does not want to spend his birthday alone after his breakup with his last boyfriend so he goes on a dating website to meet someone new. Mackenzie meets his date at a bar called Black out.. When the date goes bad, Travis the bouncer comes to Mackenzie's rescue. Travis and Mackenzie spend time getting to know each other and a relationship starts to grow. Mackenzie finds out that Travis has been telling him lies and all hell breaks loose. Will Travis be able to fix his mess up? Will Mackenzie listen to Travis and give his a second chance?

I loved this book. Mackenzie Byrnes leaves New York City after his ex cheated on him. He decides to celebrate his new life and teaching position he got by going out to a club in New Gothenburg. Only he gets harassed by a guy and saved by the club's security. Travis Hughes (Eyes) works as a spy for the president of the Kings of Men MC and security at the club. Travis saves a man and follows him home to make sure he gets home safely. Travis watches him and cant fight the need to keep this man safe. Travis finds ways to bump into Mackenzie. They grow closer but will Travis' secrets and lies push them apart?
This was frustrating at times but Travis was a cinnamon roll stalker. I loved the romance between the two even though the drama at the end was what frustrated me. Mackenzie - I understood his issues but also wanted him to make up his mind because Travis was right. He did not force him to do anything, it was Mackenzie's choice but Travis got blamed for his spontaneity.
I appreciated that the roles here were not strict and they are versatile. The motorcycle club was more explored and I cannot wait for the next book but I am reading the whole universe of NG so it will take some time to actually get to them.
Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. Mackenzie moved to another city, he decides to go to a club and was harassed by a stranger, Travis comes to the rescue and that was it Mackenzie was happy and gave Travis his phone number. It had heart palpitations, endorphins that are excited and hot and steamy with emotions that makes you want more. Thank you for allowing me to review your book.

A good story with interesting characters. Travis is part of the Kings of Men MC and meets Mackenzie one night at a club where he is also a bouncer. Since that night, Travis is drawn to Mackenzie and vice versa. Mackenzie doesn't know that Travis is part of a MC and he hates them. Their relationship progresses with lots of the bumps in the road and when truths are exposed, it may just ruin any future they may have. The narrator was ok but his voices are too similar and don't really match all of the characters. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audio book.

I'm becoming more and more addicted to this series with each book. I'm on a thrill ride I'm not ready or willing to get off. Each book introduces another character you definitely have no problem falling in love with. Truthfully I'm literally dying to get to know Undertaker better, having heard of him and experienced glimpses of his personality already I've sorta already fallen in love with him. You'll probably find a different character is your favorite but they are all lovable. I will definitely recommend this series to all of you.
Mackenzie has recently moved into the area - and after another unsuccessful hook-up, has put himself of a ‘man ban’, which somehow doesn’t seem to include the brooding and attentive bouncer, Travis. Travis ‘Eyes’ is totally enamoured with Mackenzie, but in a ditched attempt to maintain their connection, he keeps dangerous and upsetting secrets from him. Secrets that threaten to put their newly fledged relationship at risk.
Raw, rough and oozing masculinity, this series is a must read for anyone who loves dark and dirty leather-clad M/M and MC romance.
I actually liked MacKenzie and Travis more than Grant and Reaper and much of it is because of Travis. Despite his stalking tendencies he's just so likable and so obviously into MacKenzie. I loved the dynamic between them and that MacKenzie had no problem telling Travis what he thought or what his boundaries was. A romance in the middle of club life and violence.
I liked the start of this book, thought Travis was adorable, then it just got creepy the way he stalked Mackenzie. There was so much potential with the book but nothing was explored everything was skimmed over and it just basically set up the scene for the next book. Travis and Mackenzie could of been great together because there was so much chemistry but it just never came out as they never resolved anything. Love the cover, super hot.
Honestly super disappointed, only thing that kept me going is the fact the serial does seem interesting and I really liked book about Rouge and Josh so I want to keep reading it. To me personally main characters lack the chemistry and I didn’t like them. But I did like the Undertaker and if this books was only made of the parts with him in it this book would be at least 4⭐️. I felt like this book had a lot of potential but it just fell flat in the end unfortunately.
This was not at all what I was expecting. It was so much better! Whey "Eyes" spots Mackenzie, he just can't help himself. While Mackenzie has recently moved after breaking up with his boyfriend, his new life is not at all what he was expecting. Secrets are revealed, someone goes to jail and lives are turned upside down. If you like m/m and motorcycle club action, this is a book for you!
