In the facility, my memories and emotions are kept from me by the injections I receive daily. I don’t know where I’m from or who I was before this place. I only know what is expected of me in here.

I push the boundaries, perhaps subconsciously, so I can feel something, even if it is pain.

That all changes the day I meet Khascex.

He isn’t like the other guards. In fact, he doesn’t belong here. But when he saves me from an attack, I feel something strange in the pit of my stomach. Unlike other males, he holds me gently against him and promises to keep me safe.

There are a lot of things I don’t understand about this alien world, but my instincts tell me to stay close to Khascex so that’s what I’m going to do. His touches are pleasing, awakening feelings inside of me that I didn’t know were possible. For the first time in my life, he makes me wonder if I could have a happily ever after…with him.

Interesting discovery. When it comes to series, the first book isn't always the best, but I must say I enjoyed this story. It had angst, suspense, some action and drama and a slow burn romance.

The plot was intriguing. I won't say anything about the story because it would kinda ruin the suspense, but once you start reading it you kinda guess a few things before they even happen. But there are still a few surprises. I won't say thing book was awesome, because some parts still need work and more depth but I'm confident for the future of this series, and I'm really excited for the second book. I want to learn more about 402 .

The one thing I'll say about this story is that for once it doesn't evolve around breeding and repopulating a dying race. So that's a nice change. It evolves around a secret military facility trying to create the perfect soldiers for an unknown war that's brewing.

All in all, the plot will evolve throughout this series.

Would I recommend this book ?
Yes. It's quite different from my usual sci-fi reads. This story has a real plot going on and the heroine was interesting, even if she isn't the type of heroine I enjoy.

This book is a one person POV, you only get the heroine's POV, which is a shame because I would have enjoyed the hero's too, but I kinda understand why the author decided to write only one side of the story in order to keep up the mystery as long as possible.

This was an interesting take on the imprisoned alien story. The human was the alien on this world. She has been imprisoned most of her life and has been trained as an expert tracker, fighter and killer. Basically a super soldier. She gets injections that are supposed to make her compliant and emotionless. But she is different. She has questions. She has learned over the years though to just keep quiet rather than ask any of her questions.

One day she spends too much time in the shower, and when the guards come for her, she automatically starts to fight back even though she knows it’s a bad idea. Kascex just happens to be sneaking by at the time and he rescues her. He has been sneaking in to the facility to steal their supplies to give to the starving that live in the mostly abandoned city outside of the facility fences.

Kascex can’t leave her behind once he sees what is happening to her though. The problem is, his community who has spent their lives in hiding, literally living up in trees, from the facility aliens. So they are not too welcoming of her when he brings her home. They are suspicious, and they are afraid she might actually be on a mission to spy.

This was a fun read. I liked that when Kascex told her to stay put or not to leave a certain area. She did. I hate it when h’s think they know better and leave the safety of the spot they are put in and then cause trouble for the H.

I enjoyed this story which had an unusual storyline. 318, or River as we find out later, has grown up in a facility run by a species not her own. Every day she is trained and given an injection that prevents her memories and emotions from surfacing. She is different than the other girls in the facility because the injections don't work completely on her and she wants to question things instead of being a good little robot. The guards offer punishment for not obeying the rules like asking questions or missing curfews.

At the beginning of the story 318 has missed curfew and when she fights back against the guards she finds herself in a hallway with non-guards who fight the guards on her behalf and who take her with them. Khascex, the hero, is the one who defeats the guards and decides to take her with them.

The rest of the story explores River's learning to live in a new world outside the facility and her developing feelings for the hero. It is well written with action tied in when they try to learn more about River's past and the reason the girls are held captive at the facility and trained.

An introduction to a new series set in a distant world!
by sewsummore

This is the introduction to a new series set in a distant world where the inhabitants live a repressed life under the the control of Whorvax. 318 is the name of a human female who no longer has any memories of her past, all she knows is pain, routine and training in the place they call the Facility. Then one night when she was moving too slow, the guards were beating her, when three strangers came to her aide and took her to a place far away. Khascex was one of the men who saved her, he became her friend and then her lover. I found this an unusual story that was slow moving and lacked details. I diddn't realize until halfway into the book that 318 was a female, as the depiction of her training involved various weapons and physical feats of endurance but no information her appearance. The other main characters in the story were native to that world, they were refugees hiding from the Whorvax's guards. There was a lot of drama in the final few chapters of the book with an exciting conclusion leading into a second book, but no cliff hanger.

This is an interesting story. The main character of the book is a young woman locked up in a facility and made to be a soldier. Treated like a criminal and made to forget her past all she knows is pain. She begins to resist the rules and question things but that is not allowed, and she soon finds herself in harm’s way. A new man enters her world and everything she knows is turned upside down.

While I enjoyed the premise of this story, I did not love the characters. They were very flat and one dimensional to me. Khascex is a good man and he fights for what is right and soon he is more than just a man who helps the heroine. She has lost all her memories and behaves like a child not understanding or knowing many things as she spends time with Khascex she begins to remember and have thoughts of her own. The two work well together and their attraction grows stronger by the day. Their adventure is an intriguing read as 318 begins to remember her past and find her way now. Not only so we get the main characters story but there are many other characters that have much to say. It will be interesting to see where the author takes this series.

Who Is 318💃?

This is an interesting ADULT sci-fi story about a human woman💃, the only one of her kind, apparently, who is being experimented on by researchers in an Alien👽 facility on an Alien👽 planet🌍.

She💃 has no idea why she is there, how she got there, and who she is! All she is knows is that she is called 318💃in the facility, and they treat her cruelly, injecting her with experimental drugs and shocking her repeatedly with weapons when she doesn't obey quick enough.

She is finally rescued by Khascex🐺🍆⛲💪 , an outsider who has broken into the facility to take desperately needed medical supplies to the poor on the outside.

318💃 begins to remember some things as the drugs wear off. She has been trained for fighting and strength. Is she dangerous to the villagers where Khascex🐺🍆⛲💪 takes her? She wants to know where she came from!

She and Khascex🐺🍆⛲💪 go back to the facility to try and get the answers....

I enjoyed this book which had a storyline that intrigued me and likable characters. I enjoyed the development of the relationship between Khascex and River/318, although I did start to liked interest a little towards the middle, things quickly got interesting again. Although this was a full story with a HEA between these characters, I was left with some unanswered quest regarding the background storyline, which I hope will continue and get some answers in the next book, Rilkai's story, which I'm looking forward to. I did feel on a couple of occasions that hearing something from Khascex's perceptive might have been nice.

This story was very good. I have to say that it has some sci-fi, romance and suspense. She is only called 318. Doesn't remember where she came from, what her name was. The facility she was in has been keeping her on drugs. They were trying to build super soldiers. Khascex hates what the facility is doing to 318 so her decides to take her and hid her. River/318 and Khascex are great characters they find that River is from Earth. They fall in love but River isn't sure about her future or if she will be accepted by the other aliens. I'm looking forward to the next book by this author. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is a great read filled with adventure, suspense, intrigue, action, and romance. The characters were intriguing and unique; I, especially kept wondering about 318....so many questions about her. Khascex was definitely my scifi Robin Hood. I loved their interactions and how things just naturally developed between them. The author clearly knew how to achieve what she wanted, and it kept me engrossed till the end. I'm definitely waiting on book 2.

DNF at 8%

I tried picking this up 3 times and just couldn't do it. Heroine is TSTL, other characters, dialogue, and the heroine's inner voice are super flat. Maybe if the writing wasn't so clumsy, I'd give it another try.
This is the first time I can remember that I’ve stood outside and felt the night air on my skin. Oddly enough though, as I stand here a strange feeling fills me as if I’ve stood here before and this isn’t actually the first time I’ve been outside.

Redundant writing kills me.

Overall, this was a good book. The main characters were engaging and I enjoyed the story line and hidden world that was created by the author. At the end, I found myself wanting more stories with these characters.

There was a lot of detail when describing locations and characters which was helpful, but at times there was so much extra information and detail it distracted from the story and I found myself losing focus. Even with the slow areas, I would read another book in this series.

Khascek helps River escape from the facility. She is just a number and doesn’t know her name yet. River is a strong female lead and he is her mate. They struggle with his tribe and the fact that she’s human and came from the facility and they don’t trust her. They also struggle with fighting the guards that come looking for her and another human that escaped. Good read. Can’t wait to read the next book.

A good read and intriguing story.
318 went through so much in her short life. I am glad she found someone like Khascex to protect, teach and love her. There was a healthy dose of steam and romance. Though there were times where it felt robotic in a way.
Overall i enjoyed the book and would recommend.
Happy reading!

I feel the characters could have used more work, I struggled to get really into their story. The book was okay.

318 gets rescued from the compound, turning her into a super soldier. She then needs to learn what it means to be free, while obsessing with her rescuer's scent. It lead to some interesting moments....

318/River is being held at a facility where she has no memory and not allowed to ask any questions. Khascex can’t stand by and watch what they are doing to River any longer. He decides to take her and keep her hidden. But can he keep her safe? This is a fast-paced sci-fi read with loads of drama and suspense. Great characters with steamy chemistry. I liked it.

Worth a read

This book starts off with a bang and it continues throughout. The writing was good. The character development was a little lacking and a lot of the dialogue was unnaturally formal. I do think it could have been extended in parts as it moved really quickly from one scene to the next.

Good plot but not enough sci-fi for my taste. It's something that could happen, here, at this time. I love the way the female and male characters love and respect each other.

I received this book free as an ARC reader for review.

This book is an interesting combination of alien romance and wilderness survival skills. 318 is a human trapped in an alien compound being trained and conditioned with experiments to make her a super soldier. When she is rescued from the facility and taken deep into the words to a Robin Hood like compound she must to not only learn what it’s like to live in the outside but also what it means to be a free adult. Add to all that the fact that her heightened senses make her obsessed with her rescuer’s scent and the strange way she feels when he touches her, and 318 has a lot of learning to do.

There are a few plot holes, like how she came to be there to begin with. Are humans selling their children to aliens? I’m also not a huge fan of Insta-love, but I understand how her heightened senses react to pheromones and produce lust.

The characters are interesting. The aliens are different, but still humanoid. The storyline is fast-paced and the plot well developed. I look forward to reading the sequel.

I received this as an advanced reading copy.

It wasn't a horrible book and it wasn't a great book. I know 318 was kept a prisoner w/ no memory but both the main characters lacked any personality. 1/4 of the way in and the characters had so little personality that, by that point, my mental images of the characters were shaped so that despite any additional events happening to the characters, I continued to feel like they had no personality. I never ended up feeling any connections to the characters. There wasn't enough information into what was going on until a good way into the book and that was another reason it was hard to connect to the characters. There has to be something I can relate to early on or I never really connect to anyone. It is particularly sad when the secondary characters seem to have more personality right up front than the primary characters have half way through.
