somewhere in between 3.25-3.5 "messed up" stars

When book 1 left me with a twist and a cliffy I thought, holy shit, I need to resolve this mess and I jumped into book 2 for answers...

and boy, were there answers!!!

but there were also many, many, other things that kinda made a messy follow up...and my review will be somewhat vague cause of the spoilery details just might slip up with every word i write...
dammit!

so, when Kinsley realized the seriousness of her situation and the fact that
I thought I loved him. I thought he was the one for me. I was wrong. Killian isn't Killian. Killian is a liar.

well, true...BUT NOT everything was a lie between them...
My name is Liam Killian Byrne.

see, the name stayed...and that's a start...
Killian is torn apart between Kinsley and his responsibility and duty...cause you see his ultimate job was an undercover task, to infiltrate the Felton company, to infiltrate their lives and to win over Kinsley's trust to get even closer.
What he didn't count on were feeelings...what he discovered was a surprise for Kinsley herself, as she's reigning everything for the first time in her life...she's a new person to with hold
<7blockquote>I was wrong about Kinsley. She's not just a princess. She's also a survivor. And possibly even a warrior.
and they fall apart cause they are no longer on the same sides...there's an abyss of betrayal between them...
Because sorry isn't enough after you've destroyed someone's family.

but their ways still intertwine and their pull is still strong...so, even when their orbit towards each other they still find themselves at the crossroads...
Then, I guess you need to figure out what or whom you can't live without

and even with the admitance that the feelings are still there, they are alive and pulsating...the truths, the real truths about Kinsley's family coming to the surfice...only make things worse, putting her in the line of danger...as they are both trying to protect one another...they make decisions that tear them apart...
It was me deceiving him. Because a future where we are married and living happily ever after will NEVER happen.

 photo MAYBE NEVER_zpsd0krakzl.jpg
What I hate worse is that I lied to him.

I have changed my rating for this sequel several times...*sigh*
It's actually somewhere between 3.5 and 3.75, I can't pin it...fuck

I wanted to like it more, but the main reason was the discrepancy in the description of the certain past events linked to the facts we first encountered in book 1, and for me, I felt like they were in a disagreement with those facts and as a result, this feeling just annoyingly stayed with me till the end of the book leaving a somewhat bitter taste.

that is actually the only remark I have and yet it was enough to distract me from enjoying more in the story.

Nevertheless, the final installment should be the one with the closure, so I am heading toward that.

The webs we weave…deceit, betrayal, heartbreak, and confusion fuel the plot of Ella Miles’ Maybe Never as the already tenuous hold on her heart and her beliefs sends Kinsley further into the abyss her life has become. The remaining pillar in her life, Killian has proven to be as big a fantasy as the life she was born to and now she is accused of being complicit to her family’s illegal machinations.

Every time Kinsley picks herself up, someone is there to kick her feet out from under her, but no one hurts her more than Killian, even as he risks his own future to save the woman he loves. How can two people care so much for each other when their relationship has been built on lies and manipulation? Does Killian deserve Kinsley’s trust?

Ella Miles continues the Maybe series with more high tension, heated romantic entanglements and a once angst-filled heroine who is learning to stand on her own two feet and make her own decisions, right or wrong. Considering all that has happened, Kinsley is growing, but Killian is her Achilles’ heel.

Killian knows how he feels for Kinsley, but his “duty” to his job and the oath he took cannot be ignored. I have to say, he was a puzzle for me this time out. Another fast-paced and tightly coiled romantic suspense from an author who knows what I like, even though my head still spins when I think of how all three of the most important men in Kinsley's life could betray her so heartlessly!

I received this copy from Ella Miles in exchange for my honest review.

Well damn, the h finally started to grow some balls in this book. In the first book, she was an indecisive pushover that couldn't make up her mind about much of anything. And then there was the cliffhanger - when she and Killian finally come to a place where she trusts him and admits she loves him it's only to be led away in handcuffs by FBI agents, charged with money laundering and fraud only to find out that Killian Browne is not an aspiring businessman nor a Mr. Browne at all, but instead FBI agent Byrne, that's been undercover for 5 years at her family's company and gathered the evidence to have both herself and her grandfather charged with criminal activity!

So on that cliffhanger, which was the most interesting part of the book, I decided to delve in and see what this one had to offer. And I was happy to find that this one was a vast improvement on the first.

Kinsley starts off in a holding cell, completely in the dark as to how or why she could be charged with anything and set to go on trial if she doesn't take a plea deal and give in her grandfather. The only problem is: she doesn't know a damn thing. If anything, it seems Kinsley has been a pawn. Meanwhile, the betrayal she feels from Killian is blinding. She refuses to believe her family did anything wrong and stays fiercely loyal to them. Which leads to her being brought to trial. But wouldn't you know it, as much of an FBI man as Killian is, he simply can't let her go down, especially when he believes she didn't know a thing. So he takes the stand, risking his job and lies on her behalf.

Eventually the two are reunited. But there's still a standoff between them. He's a Federal Agent and even if she's innocent, she's tied to a case that he cannot speak to her about nor answer her questions as a civilian. The love affair is very real in this book but so is the divide between them - she stands by family and he stands by FBI.

There's some other things we find out in this book. Killian has secrets of his own from his past. Things that have driven him into the FBI, a haunted past and I think that's really what drives him to keep doing this job. His love for Kinsley is whole, but he can only have one or the other and that's something he wrestles with. To give up on the FBI means letting himself off for his grave mistake in the past. To let go of Kinsley means letting go of his heart.

But things just ramp up from there. We are still nowhere near to knowing just what the details are that lead to her grandfather being guilty or exactly what he's really done. What we do know is that Killian doesn't let the case sit with just the evidence that's in front of him. He finds out more in this book although he doesn't reveal it outright to the reader and he definitely doesn't share it with Kinsley. What he does share with both is that Kinsley life is in danger and there are more components to the story than even the investigating agents know. In his bid to keep her safe, he tries to play both sides, but in the end he breaks protocol and flees the country with Kinsley in hand. With whatever he found out, he doesn't even feel she'll be safe within FBI custody. The most frustrating thing about this book was the miscommunication between them. He's leery to tell her more than the bare basics and she knows he's hiding things and construes that as lying. And he is concealing things from her but only because he's trying to get a grip forward on it all and juggle multiple balls while keeping her alive.

As for Kinsley, she stepped up in this book. With her grandfather incapacitated and her now free of charges, she finally starts using those brains of hers and takes over as CEO of the Felton Corporation. Kinsley is evolving and going from the 'just look pretty girl' towards someone who is gaining strength and confidence.

There's must more of a ride in this one and although there are many questions and some reveals, even giving insight into how her family gained the right to dictate her life, most is not answered. The one thing that is answered is the these two are definitely in love with each other. But unfortunately, with one piece of info held back by Killian, everything changes in Kinsley mind at the very end and once again we are left with a cliffhanger.

This still isn't my favorite series ever but I'm stubborn so I'm going to finish this one out. But I will definitely up this one to ****four stars for finally engaging me and being a big improvement on book one!

At the end of book one, Kinsley is arrested for money laundering. At first, she can't believe that her family could possibly be involved in something like that. As her trial gets closer, Killian shares some evidence that shows her the truth.

I am hooked on this series. I love both MC's and am excited to see what is next for them. There is a good balance of action, danger, and romance. This author does a good job of keeping me wanting more - the ending has me wanting the next book NOW.

Maybe Never is the second installment of the Maybe series. It was an okay kind of book but I kind of liked the first book better.

It follows Kinsley and Killina, aka Agent Liam. Kinsley's world is falling apart. She's in jail being accused of fraud and a whole bunch of other shit. However, it's not just her being arrested. Nope, her grandfather has been too. Even though Kinsley is in jail, well.. she still loves Killian. No matter how hard she tries to say that he hates him for ruining her life, family, or family's company.. well, the guy has her heart and shit.

Killian's life hasn't gotten better after the arrest either. He wants Kinsley to take a plea deal but she's stubborn and wont do it. She wont hurt her family - no matter how many times they have hurt her. So he has to make a tough decision: stay with the FBI or be with the girl he loves. Of course, for some random ass reason, he can't have both and be happy.

I get that she was arrested and shit but she didn't do anything like her family did. She was innocent and naive to everything around her. She did what she was told because she gave her family that much power over her decisions and life. So I didn't see why it was such a bad thing for him to have both... but I went along with what the story gave me.

Other than the smutty goodness I received in this book, Scarlett, Kinsley's best friend, kind of annoyed me somewhat in this book. Only a little bit guys - because she had no filter when in came to her best friends families secret business. Which kind of sucked balls for Kinsley because of what she said.. but then again, this girl definitely needed a wake up call.

I was also happy to meet Killian's family. I loved his mom and how she supported him no matter what. It sucked that his dad still held a grudge against him for one stupid deadly mistake. I was hoping to get more chapters with him and his family but I was okay with what I got.

Overall, it was an okay kind of book with some weird things attached to it. I'm hoping that the next book, which is the last of the series, will go out with a bang.

I seriously don’t know what to think about these books. They’re slowly going from one thing into another and it’s driving me crazy. I don’t even feel like I know what’s going on anymore. 🙄🙄

Kinsley and Killian are on a rocky road during the entirety of this book. They’re so back and forth. So very untrusting of one another. Which is no surprise after the end of the first book. But it’s just like fucking quit it already. Lol. It’s just very annoying. Really is all it is.

And then of course there was ANOTHER cliffhanger. And that threw me for a loop I couldn’t help but dive right into the third book.

But this series is definitely not my favorite... I feel like it’s very all over the damn place.

Maybe Never by Ella Miles is the second book in the Maybe Series that I listened to on audio narrated by Keira Stevens and Wen Ross.

This is the second book of Ella’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. I really enjoyed getting more of Kinsley and Killian story. The book does end on a cliffhanger but that was no surprise since its part of a trilogy. I cannot wait for Maybe Always to be released on audible.

Keira and Wen did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life.

Loved the sequel. Loved how, no matter what, these two just can't stop themselves from loving each other. 4 stars because I was really hoping it wouldn't end like this. I might buy the 3rd. I might not.

Review:
“Kinsley bites her lip, ‘I used to hate you. Now, I realize who I should be hating.’ I stick my hands in my pockets to keep me from doing something stupid. ‘And now?’ ‘Now, I sorta love you.’”

5 maybe stars!! I fell in love with book one, but now I’m obsessed with book 2!

Killian and Kinsley’s story is totally twisted and suspenseful! I loved the turns that the book took, I never could guess what was going to happen next, which is what I love in a book! And I’m so excited there’s going to be another book in the series! I really need more from Killian and Kinsley, I honestly can’t get enough of them!!

I read and reviewed my personal copy of this book for Wicked Reads, so here is my review.

Kinsley Felton has been arrested for things she knows nothing about. And she doesn't believe that he father and grandfather are guilty of these charges either. After spending a night in jail, she is released and never wants to spend another night there. She has to prove the FBI wrong about her family. When Killian or whoever he is tries to tell her to take the deal the FBI is offering, she can't because she doesn't know anything and will not testify against her grandfather.
With Killian trying to keep away from Kinsley and save his job, it is hard because he is realizing that his feelings for her are stronger than he wants to believe. But Kinsley hates him for trying to take down her family and for all the lies he has told.
Can she move past all Killian's lies and still love him? Will she believe the truth when she learns just what her father and grandfather were up to? Will she spend the next ten years in jail for something she knew nothing about? And what is in the letter from her father?
To me, Kinsley was more together in this book then she was in the first book, she was a spoiled little rich girl and maybe spending another night in jail and realizing what was really going on around her has toughened her up some. I am enjoying this story and can't wait to read the next book.

I received a copy of this in exchange for an honest review through Wicked Reads.
After reading the first book in this series, I had very mixed feelings. There were so many missing pieces and so much confusion. I was happy to get my hands on this book to finally get some answers. It definitely had them, but I still think the first two books would have been better for the reader if combined.
Kinsley may think her world is falling apart, but she has no idea how bad it actually is. When it is all revealed, she needs to find herself and figure out what to do.
Killian knows his and Kinsley's relationship and his relationship with the FBI are both on rocky ground. He's teetering on a fine line trying to juggle both and keep Kinsley safe. Can he do that if she doesn't trust him?
Overall, I liked this book much better than the first and will be looking in to the next one for more answers.

3.5 stars rounded down to 3
Okay, so as much as the last book frustrated me with how naive Kinsley was, this book just far surpassed that frustration. Here we find out that Killian is an undercover FBI agent, and he's been investigating Kinsley's family for 5 years. Now Kinsley is heading to court on fraud and embezzlement charges because her dad and grandfather had her sign papers they told her were about her inheritance, except they were reports her dad and grandfather forged to embezzle money from their company. So because she was a trusting child who didn't learn to read anything before she signed it, she's now an accessory to the charges.
They go to court and Killian changes his testimony to protect Kinsley so her case is dismissed. She follows him out of the courtroom and they go to his apartment and have sex. Then she realizes he's still going to testify against her grandfather and she's all like "if you don't believe he's innocent, we can't be together" and leaves.
At this point, I wanted to scream for a multitude of reasons.
1.) Even with MINIMAL understanding of the judicial system, I know that's not how ANY of that would've gone down. Killian wouldn't have just walked off the stand. The charges wouldn't have been dismissed over one signature on one piece of paper. Hell a case wouldn't have even been built over one piece of paper and one potential witness. What DA is taking/making this case? An amateur?
2.) Kinsley wouldn't have just been allowed to walk out of the courtroom right behind Killian without being stopped by either her lawyer or the DA. The fact that she was that clueless and situationally unaware in mind boggling. And then Killian just went with it...? Tha hell? The FBI would have eyes on Killian after what he did in the courtroom. He wouldn't have just been able to dip like that by himself, let alone with the defendant he just perjured himself for.
3.) They immediately jump into bed like Kinsley hasn't been all "I hate him, but I love him, but I hate him, but I love him, but I can't trust him, but I want him..." The entire book until this point. All that is thrown out the window because they're both horny. *Eye roll*
4.) Kinsley has literally NO redeeming qualities at this point. I want to throat chop her every time she demands answers knowing FULL WELL the FBI agent who just spent 5 years under cover will NOT answer them. Like who does she think she is? And when he can't answer, she takes it so personally. No ma'am.
Anyway, at this point, Killian takes a little vacay. We find out his dad hates him for some reason, and his mom would be totally cool with Killian giving up his career for a girl she's never met. He then heads to Cancun to chill on the beach when he finds out that the casino embezzlement isn't the only cookie jar Kinsley's dad and grandfather had their hands in. So he tries to follow that lead but gets the uh-oh feeling in his tummy and bails. He's called back to Las Vegas because somehow they've managed to bump Kinsley's grandpa's court date up TWO WHOLE MONTHS. How does the author think this stuff works?
So he comes back, finds Kinsley, and they take off and leave the country when they discover Kinsley's grandpa has already dipped.
They go from country to country until the land in Ireland, but Killian refuses to answer any of Kinsley's plethora of questions. She ends up finding some letter her dad left for her in Killian's jacket (seems like a super secure place to store that) and leaves Killian a stupid "I don't love you anymore because you hid this from me, so I'm turning myself in (not sure for what exactly)" note before she leaves him while he's asleep.
He hops up and decides to head back to Las Vegas because he thinks that's where she's heading, and he's convinced she's in danger (although we don't know WHY). Once he lands, he's promptly arrested; I'm assuming for interfering with an investigation and obstruction, etc. We're never given any information on these charges.
Then we find out Kinsley lied in her note and she's heading to the worst possible place she could, Mexico.
This book was all over the freaking place. Kinsley was beyond obnoxious. Killian wouldn't tell her ANYTHING, even if it would've kept her content. Like he was hiding stuff just to hide it, I feel. And their back and forth relationship is getting old. Either communicate or just stop.
I'm going to have to finish the last book to decide if I'd recommend this series. Right now it's looking like maybe never.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

Kinsley is in shock. She has just been arrested for money laundering and fraud. The FBI is accusing her of being complicit in her family's life of crime. She has no idea what is going on. There is no way her father or grandfather would be involved in the crimes being brought against them.

Not only is she in jail, but the man that her father and grandfather had hand picked to marry her and take over the business is an undercover FBI agent who has been gathering information against them for the last five years.

She was wrong. Another bad choice just like five years before. The mistake that ruined everything for her and why she agreed for her father and grandfather to make all major decisions in her life...including picking out her future husband. They were wrong. The man they chose only wanted them in jail.

This story just keeps getting better. It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This is book two in the Maybe trilogy and the books need to be read in order.

Kinsley is a naive twenty-one-year-old woman who can't make a decision to save her life. After making a mistake that could have ruined her life she gave over all her important decisions so even though she enjoys modeling it wasn't her choice. After the death of her father she tries to be more involved in the family business but insecurities along with a grandfather who wants to control her every decision make it difficult.

Killian has been undercover for the last five years being groomed for the CEO position and in order to take control had to agree to marry Kinsley. Regardless of being undercover to take down her family, Killian is determined to make Kinsley his.

This book is action-packed, full of danger, intrigue and suspense. The storyline takes an unexpected curve at the end of book one bringing in a more dangerous atmosphere. Keira Stevens continues her narration from book one and is joined by Wen Ross as we now have Killian's POV added to the story.

I totally enjoyed listening to Keira Stevens and Wen Ross could be reading the dictionary and making it sound sexy. They totally brought this story to life. This book also leaves you with a cliffhanger as Kinsley makes a decision to finally take control of her life. Highly recommend.

Awesome Story & Audible Listen🎧 Exciting & Thrilling Series!

Maybe Never
Maybe, Definitely Series, Book 2
By: Ella Miles
Narrated by: Keira Stevens, Wen Ross

Wow, Ella Miles delivers an awesome second book in her “Maybe, Definitely” series. It is just as captivating as the first book, “Maybe Yes” this story picks up where that one ended so be sure to read and/or listen to that one first, you will not be disappointed. Kinsley’s world just imploded, she is sitting in a jail cell, for what she does not know, the person she fell in love with is not who he said he was and she can not believe her father and grandfather would do what they are accused of doing. She is determined to get to the bottom of it all. Killian is stuck in the middle, honor his commitment to his job or the woman he fell in love with. Wow, this is another amazing, fast paced story, lines are crossed, even Killian realizes there is more to it and learns Kinsley is in danger. Will she ever trust him again, will they get to the bottom of it all? There is never a dull moment in this book, it is brilliantly plotted with plenty of drama, some angst, mystery, thrilling & suspenseful moments, as well as heartfelt and romantic ones. I am looking forward to what happens next, is Kinsley making a huge mistake, will Killian get out of the mess he is in? Ella Miles, thank you for another awesome story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

I listened to the Audible edition, Kiera Stevens and Wen Ross are talented narrators and voice artists. They did a great job portraying the characters, bringing them to life, giving each their own voice and personality. I adored Kiera’s portrayal of Kinsley and Wen’s Killian, they nailed their persona and sounded as I pictured them to sound. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen🎧

I received an ARC from Ms. Miles, and this is my honest opinion. If you have not yet read Maybe Yes, then stop immediately and read it before reading Maybe Never or this review! You have been warned!!! I have to say I LOVE this series!!! Maybe Never continues where Maybe Yes left off. Kinsley is in prison for a crime that she did not commit. Killian, the love her life, works for the FBI and is seemingly the cause of her incarceration. As Kinsley learns who she can trust, both in and out of her family, she will have to learn to stand up for not only herself, but also the employees of her family's casinos. Killian will have to make the decision of turning his back on Kinsley and what they have shared and their possible future, or he will have to turn his back on the FBI. Will Killian and Kinsley learn to navigate together this spiderweb in which they are caught or will they go their separate ways and destroy what was blossoming?

Ms. Miles weaves a deeper web of deceit and betrayal interspersed with love and naivete. I literally stayed up all night reading Maybe Never because I could not put it down, and I had to find out what happens next. The love and betrayals between Kinsley and Killian, and Kinsley and her family ripped out my heart. Just when I thought that things could not get worse, Ms. Miles throws in a twist that left me reeling. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Maybe Never. It does end in a cliffhanger, but since the next book is already out, I can dive right in to it. Thank you Ms. Miles for writing such heart-wrenching and highly anticipating series. I look forward to finding out what happens next. I recommend this book and series to those 18+ due to graphic sex scenes and violence.

Wow!!!

I loved this book.

After being lied to by Killian, who was an undercover FBI agent trying to take down Kinsley's father and grandfather, the FBI arrests Kinsley to put heat on her grandfather. Killian begs her to take the plea bargain and testify against her grandfather, but she refuses. She insists her family's innocent.

But when her day in court comes, Killian surprises everyone by lying to protect her. He does that because she's innocent and because he's in love with her.

But when he shows Kinsley proof of her family's illegal activities she throws him out. When Killian takes his much earned vacation in Cancun, he goes to investigate the last place that Robert, Kinsley's father, was at. That's where he overhears a conversation threatening Kinsley. He rushing back to Vegas and to her and making sure that she's protected. He gets them fake passports and they leave the country after they find out that her grandfather left the country and has no plans on returning, leaving her in the hands of the FBI.

Kinsley knows that Killian is lying to her, she knows his tells when he lies. When she finds the note her grandfather and father left her hidden in Killian's jacket while they are hiding in Ireland, she leaves early one morning while he's still sleeping. She leaves him a note telling him that she no longer loves him (a lie) and for him to go back to his main priority, his job at the FBI. Knowing that they could never truly be together because he would resent her one day.

Nothing could be further from the truth!!

2.75 Stars for me!

My rating range of this story... 1 - 3 Stars
If significant, why? Brain dead h and convoluted storyline.

Main Character Ratings...
H = 5/10
h = 3/10

Was cheating involved? No
Any major triggers to be aware of?

Scenes with heat... Yes
What point does it start? 1%
How much of the story? 15%
Anything beyond M/F? No
If yes, explained

Heat Rating... 7/10
Clean or Fade to Black - 1 or 2
Normal to Descriptive 3-5
Detailed Descriptive Sex - 6-7
Um, Wow, Beyond Descriptive Sex - 8 or above

Was there so much sex or unrealistic sex that you rolled your eyes and/or skipped forward? At times

The back story... The h's world is starting to crumble now that he life has been exposed as a lie and the man she loves is actually an FBI agent.

The Romance... Still not seeing it. Just lust!

The drama explosion... Just have to read it.
Did it feel real or contrived? Ufg
Was it OTT? Yup
Separation involved? A bit
Was it resolved properly or rushed? N/A

Final Notes... I feel like I am killing serious brain cells. Authors: Please do simple research. A high powered law firm is not going to accept evidence as valid unless they review it and THEY WILL NEVER TELL A CLIENT that they should consider a plea deal under those circumstances. When leaving a court hearing, the FBI agent is not going to be stupid enough to follow the h and then do anything in public.

And I loved this as well. Can't wait to start the third one!
It's so good, fast-paced, interesting, and active.
I love that there is constantly something happening 🤩
-------------------------fast forward
Ok, now that I finished all 3 books I am ready to write a full review for the Ella Miles series Maybe.
So what we have: Maybe Yes, Maybe Never, Maybe Always.
First of all, I can't believe I kept them 2 years on my TBR list! If I would know how good they are I would choose them so much sooner!
The first book introduces you to Kinsley, a naive 21-year-old, spoiled, wealthy daddy-daughter whose only concern is who she will marry. Things get complicated when she is arrested for something she can't understand. And this is not all, soon she will find out all her life has been one big lie! Nothing is what she thought it is! Kinsley has morals and strength to dig deep for the truth but this will get her just into trouble.
The tried book has some annoying moments but in general, all three books are truly amazing! I am sad I didn't jump on them sooner. Now I have a dilemma, do I follow my list or grab the spin-off series Definitely...

This book picks up right where Maybe Yes ended - Kinsley is in jail awaiting her bail but she has to come to grips that Killian isn't who she thought he was. Killian knows he needs to stay away from Kinsley. Kinsley is hearing all kinds of bad things about her father and grandfather. She just can't believe they were that corrupt. Can she trust Killian after he lied to her and her family? Even though she is in love with him, how can she trust him not to hurt her again? So as she tries to discover the truth, Killian is still trying to help her and keep her safe and out of jail. Another roller coaster ride of intrigue, mystery with Kinsley trying to figure out the truth - is her family actually corrupt or is this some big conspiracy. And will she pay for their sins. But then when she discovers a letter her father had written to her, will her world come crashing down? This ends on a big cliffhanger so now anxiously awaiting the next book. Enjoying this series so far.

What a second book in this series!!! This picks up where Maybe, Yes left off and what a way to start the new book...

Kinsley has found out about the family business only to be arrested and on her way to jail, can this really be happening? And the man she is supposed to marry and the man she loves is an FBI agent? Can Kinsley survive what comes next? Will she want to survive and look Killian in the eye again?

Killian always meant to keep Kinsley out of the family business and out of trouble, but when the FBI does things their way, he has to sit and watch as the women he loves is taken away from him! Does he have to choose between love and his career? Will it be an easy choice?

This is a deliciously dark suspenseful story that will keep you on the edge of your seat!! It is full of emotions, twists, turns, darkness (oh sweet darkness), drama, suspense and wonderful characters that will make you cry, laugh and mad. Don't miss this series!! I can't wait for the next one! I received an ARC of this book from the author!

OH MY GOODNESS!!!! What an action-packed episode. As more and more information is revealed to Kinsley, she feels betrayed by her father and grandfather. Killian as an FBI agent is having a crisis of the conscious. He is deeply in love with Kinsley but is devoted to his job. He knows he can't have both. Killian continues his investigation without his superior’s knowledge. He has gone rogue to protect Kinsley. Kinsley's grandfather left the country and left her a note that told her he was going to fix everything and he also left a letter from her father that explains everything. Kinsley feels betrayed by Killian because he was hiding it from her. She deserts him and goes on her own to face the danger alone while Killian chases after her but there is a huge roadblock in his way to finding her. Another exciting episode for Ella Miles. I cannot wait for the next book "Maybe Always". I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I enjoyed the first book in this series, but this one.... Something was off or missing to me. In the beginning of this book, the tone was flat and I thought it was to match Kinsley's mood as she's not in a good place physically or emotionally (she's sitting in jail thinking her lover scammed her). But it continued throughout the book. Conversations and inner monologues felt wooden and stilted with both MCs and Kinsley really drove me nuts with the "I love him-I no longer love him-I hate him-I don't love him anymore-I love him again, no wait. .." I know she's emotionally stunted but it got to be a bit much. There were other things that kept me from immersing myself in the story and I had to make an effort to finish. As I said, I really enjoyed the first book so I'll wait for the last one before deciding how I felt about the trilogy.

Killian Must Choose: Kinsley Or The FBI. As Killian And Kinsley Fall Deeper In Love, More Is At Stake. They Both Reflect Upon Their Lives And Families To Come To Terms With Their Feelings, But New Discoveries Continue To Push Them Apart.

This is the second book in the three part Maybe trilogy, which is part of the six part Maybe Definitely series. The first book ended in a cliffhanger.

From the first book, Kinsley Elizabeth Felton, twenty-one, had rooms full of designer clothes but she could take them or leave them. A model since age twelve, she was about to graduate from Yale with a degree in theater. She hadn't dated in three years, since breaking up with her high school boyfriend. She followed all the plans her father and grandfather carefully laid out for her, never wanting to be the cause of disappointment. She had caused too much trouble five years earlier. She wouldn't risk being the cause of more trouble for her family.

Her grandfather, Lee Felton, built the family empire from a single Las Vegas casino into nearly twenty properties. Felton Corporation has remained a family company for generations. As the sole heir, Kinsley understands that she is expected to agree to an arranged marriage to a man her father and grandfather feel will make a good CEO and husband.

Killian Byrne, thirty, has dark piercing eyes and reeks of sex-appeal. He doesn't smile much. He was VP of Operations at Felton Corporation and being considered for the CEO position. With a business degree from Harvard and some law school under his belt, he was recruited to Felton Corporation five years earlier. He formed a deep bond with Kinsley's father, Robert. Three years ago, he was informed about a plan for him to marry Kinsley and become CEO. Because of her age, he did not approach Kelsey.

The plan got turned upside down when Kinsley's father died of a heart attack suddenly, and Kinsley learned that the timetable had shifted and a marriage would take place in six months. She had always done as told, but said she can't do this. Even if his considerable appeal did tempt her to agree, Killian didn't want to marry her unless forced to for the CEO position.

The atmosohere was explosive when Kinsley and Killian met in Las Vegas. They danced around their feelings for one another throughout the book. Despite their incredible chemistry, both struggled with admitting to their developing feelings. But just when they accepted their love for one another, Kinsley was ripped from his arms and arrested by the FBI, and at the same time learned that Killian was the man responsible for her arrest. He had worked as an undercover agent for the FBI for five years trying to take down her family. The story closed with Kinsley in a jail cell.

In this book, the couple struggles to find their way back together. They both have a sad history, and both stories are revealed. Killian faces a choice: Kelsey or the FBI. He cannot be loyal to both. He is forced to testify against Kelsey, and knows she will never forgive him. Kelsey refuses to testify against her grandfather and adamantly believes no crimes have been committed. When she finds herself free and all charges dropped, she makes her way back to Killian. But their happiness is short lived when he insists that her father and grandfather were guilty. Kelsey leaves in anger, but she eventually begins a search for the truth. When she finds Killian coming back into her life, she no longer trusts anything, despite her love for him. They face danger as they search for more answers, and the plot seems to thicken. The couple's story ends in another nail-biting cliffhanger!

As Killian and Kinsley fall deeper in love, more is at stake. They both reflect upon their lives and families to come to terms with their feelings, but new discoveries continue to push them apart. This story is more focused than the first, as there is less of the wishy-washy feelings and more focus on getting answers.

This book is well-written. The plot is suspenseful with unexpected twists and turns. It is written in first person. The POV alternates between Killian and Kinsley. I rate this book 4.5 stars.

I'm not a violent person, but I'd love to just slap Killian then kiss him which is how Kinsley feels too. Kinsley is more mature and decisive in this second installment. She's trying to take control of her life and making progress until Killian messes that up again. Ella Miles keeps us guessing what has really happened and what will happen. Who is guilty or framed? Safe or in danger? And who actually loves Kinsley? I'm not sure how her grandfather really feels about her. We learned more of Killian's back story but not enough to really understand him.

I enjoyed this book, which is definitely a cliffhanger. It started right where the first book ended and left me wanting a lot more. I've already downloaded the third book.

This is book two in this series. It does Not standalone and you must read book one. I liked that we got some answers that we had been left asking at the end of book one, but book two brought a whole new batch for readers to fixate on. The story is suspenseful and (I hate to use this word) trippy. There are lies and truth and it is very hard to tell the difference. I did like that Kinsley showed some character growth from the first book and that in my opinion was a welcome improvement. Killian, I like but have deep concerns over what he's supposed to be doing and his own unexpected emotions. Book two ends on another cliffhanger, so be prepared. This is my honest, voluntary review.
